At my annual physical with my primary, I inquired about a couple suspicious moles and skin anomalies that had recently arisen. With a referral, I could select my own dermatologist. I read lots of reviews and chose Dermatology Associates of West MI. I was aware regardless who I chose there would probably be a 3-4 month wait as a new patient. I was pleasantly relieved that I was able to schedule earlier due to a cancellation. Dr. Brian Gerondale is one of the best doctors I have ever interacted with, especially calming my mild anxiety of being there with calming conversation. He is friendly, informative and was thorough with looking over my skin for precancerous conditions. He was precise and quick with excision of two spots. His assistant Ashley was also very polite, making sure to inform me and answer my questions regarding aftercare and biopsy results.

I called with concerns for a persistent but mild rash, which my primary care doctor struggled to treat over several weeks. I was not a patient of theirs prior to my call. They were quite booked up but the receptionist had pity on me and squeezed me in as soon as the schedule would allow. When I arrived I mentioned that if they are able I’d like to get a full body check for suspicious moles and I asked if I could have one removed, in addition to having my rash addressed. I figured this would be a long shot since I had only booked the appt for a rash. They were not put out at all and did everything I requested. I had an infant with me and one of the staff came in to hold the baby just to make sure his visit was pleasant too. I’m blown away! Every single person I came in contact with was wonderful, thoughtful and demonstrated sincere care as well as exceptional service. I am so thankful for them!

The WORST customer service I have ever had. Was extremely emotional due to the reason for my visit and was degraded in the waiting room because I had "missed a previous appointment" Even though they had actually changed my appointment due to a dr retiring and had not contacted me to see if the changed appointment time worked for me or not. For this particular appointment I needed to re-schedule because I forgot my updated insurance card (which I had admitted was my fault) and instead of being kind and understanding she proceeded to say to me "well who goes to a dr office without insurance" AGAIN. I admitted yes, I realize it was my mistake and asked her to stop throwing salt in the wounds and she CONTINUED to keep going. Mortified is an understatement. McKenna H, thank you for your horrific example of customer service! I sure hope you never make a mistake in your life and someone doesn't have to show you the grace you showed me today.
