I don't write reviews often, so when I do it's usually because I feel the need to so I can warn others. Ladies, do not see Dr. Russell. And if you're currently seeing her now and feeling uneasy about the treatment, leave now. I made the mistake of commuting two hours to my hometown to continue seeing her and I really don't know why.
She started out fine, you know, she was someone who you could get the correct birth control from without worry. But then I was admitted to the ER from an ovarian cyst rupturing and that's when everything went downhill. I expressed to her the pain and how it was a daily cccurence and she switched my birth control a fair amount of times. She even went above and beyond and ordered me a diagnostic laproscopy to check fro endometriosis, which i didn't end up having. After that procedure she forgot who I was...literally.
a couple months after I went in and told her I was still in pain and she goes "Well, let's consider doing a diagnostic laproscopy to check for endometriosis." I looked at her confused and said, "I already had that...right?" She has to look through my folder until she realized that yup... that was me.
Then, in late 2016, early 2017 I expressed concern about still being on a birth control pill with the upcoming Trump presidency and how everyone was afraid of losing access to it. I wanted to get an IUD. She shouted, "Oh, you millenials!" while laughing in my face.
Like other reviews have said, she is cold and arrogant. Bedside manner is a mess and don't question her because she will make you feel stupid. She needs a lesson on body autonomy so she cant stat realizing that she doesn't own her patients' bodies.
And what sparked this review, you may ask? I called to ask why my birth control was going up in price and how I couldn't afford it and the receptionist put me on hold to go look at my file and she returns and says its because I was discharged and sent to collections and that they couldn't help me.
She said a letter was to be received soon.
How about a call? A voicemail? An email?
So now I'm without birth control and without help because I couldn't' find the money to pay back i'm guessing one copay and two missing appointment fees, correct me if i'm wrong because the letters they send are few in number and don't address what you're actually paying for.
Long story short: realize you deserve better before you get sent to collections.
