Be careful when you go here. They try to trick you into services you did not request. I came in for an initial visit and a mole check as I have a family history of skin cancer. The Doctor entered the room with an assistant carrying a canister. She asked if a large mole I have on my left breast was bothersome. She said it was not suspicious but asked if it bugged me. I told her my last dermatologist gave me some lotion but I didn't remember the name, however I said it didn't really bother me. She offered to spray it with the canister and said she wouldn't charge me, it might come off and it might not. I was hesitant but gave in. Part of it came off but not the whole thing. A few months later, I get a large bill for a destruction of a benign lesion that my insurance company did not cover. When I called the office, the Dr didn't remember telling me that she would not charge me, so I got stuck with the bill. It seemed very planned from the beginning to turn an inexpensive initial visit into a more expensive appointment if possible - why else would she arrive carrying the canister? Also very frustrating that they didn't even care about keeping a patient or about following through to make it right. They could have offered to complete the service to at least remove the entire thing - they really did not care that I was leaving. I guess they have so many patients they really don't care about them.

I seem to have many skin problems, but Kelly from Clarkston dermatology has really helped my skin clear up. For instance, my rosacea is so well controlled that you can no longer tell that I have it, with a minimal skin care routine ☺

I have quite an embarrassing and painful disease called hidradenitis suppurativa. I have been battling and needing frequent care. Dr. McFalda was so worried about me she provided me a private way to contact her if I needed. When I did need an emergent appt. the staff and Dr. stayed after hours waiting for me to get there for over an hour. The staff is always nice to me and accommodating. I wish this could be my primary care office! I can't say enough about how wonderful they are.

The wait time was short, the staff was really friendly and the doctor was excellent. Dr. Bender took time to explain everything clearly and answered all of my questions. I was not happy with my previous dermatology office so I took a chance and I am glad that I did.

I don't want to want a month or more to be seen by a doctor. I will go see a doctor that isn't trying to get more patients than they can handle. Too many fees. They charge a fee if you forget to bring your insurance card or you have to miss an appt. Don't feel that it is a caring office.

I don't visit very often but today my visit was very pleasant. Staff was friendly and there was virtually no wait time. I was walking out 15 minute after my scheduled appt. time. 9/26/17 update: after 2 visits and $260 my small wart still exists. This place spends minimal time with you and wouldn’t accommodate a no charge return visit to take of the problem. A typical outrageous charge and they under treat you to force return visits to rack up your bill. They will not be getting any more of my business.

Dr McFalda and Clarkston Dermatology is an awesome place! I am so glad I found her and her practice. I am now on the right track with my Psoriasis and Arthritis. She also sent me to my Arthritis doctor which I would not have found without her help. I am very thankful for Clarkston Dermatology. Check them out if you are looking for a Dermatologist. You won’t be disappointed.

Worst dermatologist I have ever known. My husband went to see McFalda for bumps on his nose and a possible cyst asking to have them removed. She recommended not to remove them due to leaving a scar. He left. 6 months later, he went to another dermatologist for a completely different skin issue and he told him the bumps on his nose were probably cancer. He scraped them right away on his first visit and sent them to the lab. It was cancer. The cancer was so deep he had to cut away part of his nose and he had to have reconstructive plastic surgery. This dermatologist should have her license taken away. Do not go here.

I have been coming here for a few years. The staff is always professional and friendly. I have run into a problem in their service. I went to a seminar and decided I would give a deposit of 250.00 for a new procedure. In getting home I changed my mind as my skin is old and I didn't think the procedure would do me much good. I decided I would just leave the 250. In my account and use it for mole removal. They kept my money and wouldn't use it for moles because they said it was a medical procedure and not cosmetic and the two are separate in their office. WHAT. Most mold removal is for cosmetic and not medical. Reasons. What difference does it make as they have the money.

Dr. McFalda is the most caring competent doctor I have ever had in all my 80 years ‼️She diagnosed 2 melanomas that didn’t look like typical brown irregular border melanomas-one was pink and one was tan. She employs a great Mohs surgeon Dr. Brian Kopitzki. He is highly skilled and thoughtful and caring. Clarkston Dermatology is a 5 ⭐️Operation ‼️

I do not like to admit this but I have had some work done... just some Botox and I had a horrible tattoo removed by Clarkston Dermatology. Their laser tattoo removal services were virtually painless and they worked around my schedule. I would recommend this MI dermatologist to anyone in Detroit or in eastern Michigan.

I would never recommend this office, or Dr. McFalda to anyone. As a provider myself, Dr McFalda shows absolutely no care or respect to her patients. If you want someone who will listen to you and perhaps review your chart before entering the room-- do not see her. She does not make eye contact and treats you like a piece of paper, not a patient. There are a ton of dermatologists in the Clarkston area, do not object yourself to her disrespect.

My daughter got a tattoo when she was on spring break a couple of years ago and she needed to get it removed in order to get a job. I had gone to this Michigan dermatologist in the past and so I gave them a call to see if they performed this service. My daughter got in the next week and she was very happy with her laser tattoo removal treatment. I would recommend Clarkston Dermatology to everyone.

Dr. Dawson is absolutely the best dermatologist! I've been visiting Clarkston Dermatology off and on for the last 4 years. They have always delivered exceptional customer service and impeccable bedside manner. I've had allergy testing done, skin checks and other various in office procedures performed. I started seeing Dr. Dawson at the beginning of the year for botox and lip fillers. She is so good at what she does. She always listens to exactly what I want and is willing to answer any questions before, during or after the procedures. She takes her time and I never feel rushed. She also makes me feel so comfortable, which is so soothing when you're having a procedure done. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend anyone to this clinic, both for the cosmetic and medical sides of the practice. You will love everyone here! You're in good hands!

After waiting over a week for an appt. to see a doctor for a rash on my FACE, I was seen by a PA. Of course, I had to pay the co-pay for seeing a specialist, even though I only saw the physician's assistant. She misdiagnosed the rash and the medication she gave me made it MUCH worse. I tried to get an appt. to see an actual doctor in the office and was told the first available appt. was in two weeks! Meanwhile the rash ON MY FACE was getting worse by the day. I explained this to the receptionist who was unbending in her "two weeks" away appt.! This office used to treat actual medical problems. Now, it's just a glorified spa! If I had wanted to have any cosmetic procedure done, I'm sure they would have gotten me in for a consultation right away. Another derm in the area got me in the next day and correctly diagnosed and treated the rash. If you want to see a doctor and have an actual medical problem treated, don't go here!

I’ve been to the medical and cosmetic sides of Clarkston Derm and am extremely satisfied with both! This might be a little long, but I’ve got a lot of good things to say about this place. The medical side has treated my moles and rosacea. The cosmetic side has also treated my rosacea with IPL and lasers. Both sides run on-time within 5-10 minutes of my scheduled appointment. Dr McFalda is great! She strikes just the right balance of professional yet caring and really sets that same tone for the entire practice. She removed a mole from a prominent spot on my face and you cannot even tell there was ever anything there! PA-C Kelly always takes the time to thoroughly answer my questions and is persistent in treating my rosacea. Nurse practitioner Carole is just amazing with lasers; she and medical assistant Danielle always make me feel comfortable and give me good advice for skin care. The receptionists and schedulers/billers seem to know their jobs well and are courteous and helpful. They make sure I take advantage of special offers and rewards programs to get me the best costs. They have helped treat my skin problems and provided treatments to make my skin look better. Run on-time and are professional and caring. Work with me to keep costs down. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Pick another office and doctor! Takes forever to get an appointment. Then when you do they spend less than 5 minutes with you. Worst of all is misdiagnosis of issues and not solving your problem. After two years, I have officially switched to another doctor.

I had my first appointment today, and I was impressed with every encounter from initial contact through the checkout. When I requested an appointment online l, they called me back the next day- twice! I was thrilled with how quickly they were able to get me in. Next, when I arrived, the front desk personnel were very welcoming and helpful. I appreciated that they were so kind with regard to my struggles in getting the online forms completed and they really turned around what started out as a rough day. Next, Dr. Dawson is fantastic. I liked everything about her. She is confident and made me feel confident in her. She also listened and made me feel she cared while remaining time efficient- really a good skill. I also felt very confident in the two staff (nurses?) who assisted her in seating me and recording her findings.Both were sharp and attentive. Finally, the checkout staff were pleasant and efficient. I believe I have found a terrific doctor. The icing on the cake is that the office is so well run, and it is clear that everyone on the team seems to be on the same mission to provide a great experience for the patient. I notice these things, because in my own profession, my goal is to do the same. It’s not easy. I am so glad I found this office!

Waited an hr, 30 min in the hallway, standing due to lack of seating, before I was pulled back, then another hr before Dr Mcfalda saw me. Dr Mcfalda came in and addressed my issues, in 5 min (I’m sure she billed for the minimal 15 min which is fraud if she scheduled anyone else in the same time slot) then told me I had to come back multiple times due to my insurance, to have multiple biopsies done.I contacted my insurance Co and they told me this is not true, they would cover 100% done at 1 appointment. I found out later this was a tactic used by Dr Mcfalda to collect more co-pays from me and also collect 100% of each visit, since the more she did in 1 visit the less she could collect from my insurance Co. (seems to me She is more interested in business/money than treating her patients correctly, and effectively, and again fraud). I have since transferred my care and wouldn’t recommend her care to anyone. If I could give less than 1 star I would!

In my opinion, I experienced a very unreasonable policy and poor service. Had already made an appointment with doctor to discuss getting several small skin lesions/moles removed. Despite, very good insurance, doctor only removed one mole. When I called back to make another appointment to get more small skin lesionsremoved, receptionist stated nothing was documented from last visit about getting any more lesions/moles removed, so I couldn’t make another appointment for mole removal until another assessment appointment was made and completed. That’s bizarre. Ive never experienced a derm who required two visits for a each small skin lesion/mole removal. She stated nothing was documented about more moles. No my fault and why should it matter. She also stated doctor needs to make sure there’s a mole there to remove, and a second appointment needs to be made to get it removed. She said they require two visits are required to removed a single mole, can’t be done in one visit. The moles haven’t changed since my initial assessment visit. The mole haven’t been removed yet and haven’t changed since last visit, so don’t see why I have to make another appointment just to reassess what was already assessed. It should not be necessary that they staff pre-document the existence of a small skin lesion/mole on a first visit, and then be required to make a 2nd visit to get it removed. Plus, if it is really required, I shouldn’t have to spend my time and money fixing their omissions cause it was discusses previously. In addition, I feel a patient shouldn’t have to make 2 separate appointments for one small mole/lesion removal, especially since it’s already been discussed at previous appointment. I’ve worked with lots of dermatologists in my life re mole removal and never have a I experienced such unreasonableness. UPDATE: Went to Oakland Hills Dermatology today for first time in Auburn Hills, MI and they removed 4 small skin lesions on first visit.
