LOVE Alger pediatrics! Dr. Rauwerda was my pediatrician and she was so personable and genuine that I had to have her for my first child! She answers all my questions and eases my sanity as a new mom. She also is so great with babies she just gets right in there sometimes with feedings, and changing his diaper if he needs it. I also love the staff! Every single person is so friendly there. And there isn’t much turnover so everyone who has been there has been there for a while which I think says a lot about how they take care of their employees

I walked into this office with a mess load of kids with a mess load of problems. Their previous pediatrician was older and she dropped my daughter as a patient because in her words," she has too many problems". I switched to Doc Daining and we have never once lost faith in this man or this practice. He takes care of these kids so well. I brought him kids with genetic issues, spinal cord problems, he just rolls with it. The office is great, all the nurses are great. He is a good man with a kind heart who sometimes has more patience with my kids than I do. He listens to them and lets me know when he thinks I am overlooking something that could be a real issue. Don't know how I would be doing this job as a single parent without them there for us. Can't thank the office staff and or Doc Daining enough for helping and being amazing!!

I was seen at birth by dr hoffman and was with him till age 18/19. Wonderful Pediatrician - i HIGHLY reccommend him :)

I called in about a second opinion. The operator simply said, "We don't do second opinions." That's it. Short and not helpful. Didn't offer advice, didn't ask to talk anyone. I would hate to see how they treat their everyday patients.

called there to let them know that they had sent a confirmation of a referral for a specialist was sent to the wrong person (im not even a patient there) and front desk was nice transferred to to the person who does the referrals and she treated me like it was somehow my fault that they messed up i just wanted to make sure the right person got there referral notice

Usually very quick to fit you in for same day type appts. Good staff and friendly doctors. Dr. Walen even came in after hours to examine my daughter after she hit her head to see if she had a concussion.

Super friendly staff in the office. Walk in clinic is very nice to get my kids in before school hours instead of waiting for an appointment later in the day. We love Dr. Hofman, but when he is busy we are comfortable with any of the doctors in the office.

David Shaheen

We love Dr. Addy at this office. She and the other doctors are great. We have brought 3 children to the office and they have been flexible when we were late a few times. A warning...sometimes when my wife called the nursing staff to ask a quick question, they would give advise that conflicted with what the doctors later recommended. So, always ask around and double check when you have a concern.

During the week of June 29-July 3, 2015 I started the week out contacting my child's pediatricians office, Alger Pediatrics, to request a referral from Dr. Rauwerda for my child's chiropractor. Due to some issues my daughter was having that was leading us toward a very minor surgery we sought out a second opinion from our chiropractor. After paying out of pocket for a few visits to the chiropractor we found my daughter was improving significantly and we started the process of getting referred so that our insurance would cover her visits. I contacted her pediatricians office and spoke directly to the referral specialist. She requested a referral to Dr. Rauwerda and she declined due to not seeing my child for the issue, which was dishonest since she is who referred us to a specialist and we got the diagnosis from. I contacted the referral specialist again and I asked her to request the referral again since the reason was dishonest and I would prefer the fact that my child is improving would be considered. Dr. Rauwerda declined again saying it was her policy not to refer to chiropractors. No other reason but that. No concern for what was best for my child and no consideration that the care she was receiving was avoiding her to have surgery. I was then put in the position where I could not make a choice as a parent to send my child to where I wanted to and saw was best for her due to a doctors personal opinion and beliefs. I decided to transfer my kids to a new pediatrician and Alger Pediatrics has made the process as difficult as possible. The staff has told me I need to pay them $20 for the paper to print my kids records even though my kids records are electronic. They have told me their fax machine wasn't working so I couldn't send them a permission slip to transfer their files. When I requested an email address to send the slip to instead they told me their email address wasn't working. Email addresses don't stop working. I asked them how else I could get this slip to them and they told me they didn't know and I could wait a day or 2 to try and fax it again. When I explained to her that my child needs to see a doctor and the process is being stalled for me to do so, she said that she didn't know what else to tell me about the matter. I am very unhappy with the whole process and I refuse to send my children to a doctor who cannot support other medical services that this world has to offer. I also cannot send my children to a doctors office where no one is friendly, the doctor can already be scary enough and we have had several situations where my children could have treated in a kinder tone to help them through the process of their visit. Alger pediatrics needs to hire friendly staff, update their technology, make their staff knowledgeable on technology and understand that our world is in a time now where chiropractics is a true form of medical care and if it is helping the child then that is all that should matter in the end.

I Love Dr. Daining and Dr. Hoffman! Overall, the office is fine. My issue is the front office staff. They tend to come across as unwelcoming, abrupt and unorganized. I don't know how many times I have to inform them of my son's dual insurance coverage; cant be that difficult! Once we get past the front office, Its always a great experience:)

If you decide to bring your children to this office. I highly recommended you choose any Doctor but Doctor Hoffman. Some may say he is a good Doctor in there reviews. He maybe, but we have not felt that. My advice is shared with a few of my friends of the family who bring their kids here as well, and feel the same as what I am writing. Every experience we have had with the Doctors, especially Doctor Addy has been awesome! We put our trust and faith into our Doctors here. When we do not know the answers to what may be going on with our child. If the office it closed. We call the after hour number like others. If Doctor Hoffman is on call that night. I recommend you choose another direction that night. Twice he has made us feel dumb, embarrassed, and belittled us for wasting his time. Without actually saying the words to us. We should not feel this way. No matter what are questions maybe. We should not feel like we are wasting his time. He is unprofessional and needs to have a warmer heart for people in this field. Even if the clients like us are asking the questions wrong to him. Does not excuse Dr. Hoffman. He could at least act like a professional and make people feel better after they get off the phone, not worse. I recommend any one but Dr. Hoffman. Solely on his manners. Which goes along way in my mind. You want your family to feel comfortable, and like they care for the best for your family. He makes my family and I feel nervous and uncomfortable when comes to an emergency. No matter what level of emergency it maybe. You can treat people with respect. Again, the experience with the other Doctors have been Great! I hope Dr. Hoffman can reevaluate how he treats a family. They are calling intially because something maybe wrong with there child and need advice. Not to make the situation worse by making people uncomfortable and disrespected. Because the Doctor does not know how to have a respectful professional conversation. No matter what the questions or situations. You still should act like you truly care. Especially if you’re a Doctor, taking care of children.

Alger Pediatrics is a wonderful place for you and your child! I have seven children and all of them have been patients here, from birth on. They give excellent care and they go out of their way to be helpful in any way that they can. We see Dr. Daining. He has been a blessing to our family. I highly recommend Alger Pediatrics.

Love this office! The staff and all the doctors go above and beyond to take care of not only your child but also the parents. Friendly, great hours and option to use GRAPES downtown for after hours care make this a wonderful place to trust with your family's medical care.

We love Dr. Rauwerda so far for our newborn and would highly recommend her! She is kind and doesn’t seem to rush you or belittle you if your questions are silly (new parents, right?!). One of her strong points is in the education for us- her explanations are very helpful. The nurses on the phone are hit or miss as far as politeness goes and sometimes they do make us feel as though we are wasting their time by calling. However it is nice to have them available for quick questions. My wife was able to send a photo of my daughter’s rash and the nurse had the doc look at it without us having to come in. Another advantage is that there is a Lactation consultant available one day a week for breastfeeding questions and in-person guidance. One suggestion I do have is possibly having more than one nurse come in to give baby’s immunizations. It is really quite the process for one single person to do all the injections and it makes it seem more traumatic for my babe and for me since it can take a long time to administer them all alone. The other downside is the building and environment itself. It’s quite outdated and feels dingy. Time for a renovation! (Even just a fresh coat of paint would help). But I can certainly overlook that because quality care and quality, professional people matter more!

My child had been misdiagnosed so many times there. Last year he had Mono. He had 104 fever and his eyes were bloodshot. Dr . Raweada said it was allergies and sent us in our way. The next morning on a Saturday u took him back in. The dr palpated his stomach and said his spleen and liver were enlarged. She said that dr rawerda palpated yesterday and said it was not enlarged. Dr. R never touched his abdomen !!! I spoke with office manager and changed Drs. This past Thursday my child woke up with vomiting, fever and sore throat. Took him in had a strep swab . I'm s nurse so u know how to go that . The nurse did NOT swab his tonsils and palate . Just poked it back there and said done. Strep swab and culture were negative. I told them the nurse did not do it right. Fast forward 5 days later and child still sick. Took him to walk in hours and Dr Hoffman said this was viral, I needed to let go of this "Strep thing "!!! I told him to do another strep test because his nurse didn't do it right! He said she's their best nurse and he could assure me it was fine . He SHOVED the swab down my child's throat and made him cry !!! He didn't bother showing his face to me once the strep test was POSITIVE!!!!!!! Do not take your kids here!!!!!!

Office staff was super rude when I asked if they are taking new patients and if they accept my insurance. Wanted to make an appointment but I guess they don't need anymore business!

Ok first and foremost love this office. Everyone there is great. We have been seeing Doc Daining now for 9 years and he is the rock that holds my family together medically. Never have issues with anything. Things may get a little mixed up occasionally but everyone is human. I am seeing quite a few negative reviews on Doctor Hoffman. He is different but don't mistake him for being good. I have seen sides of him that people talk about after hours with him being kid of short. Yes he can be. But he also has the kindest heart around. I have seen him show empathy and compassion when my daughter was hospitalized for a few days with a very severe face infection. I have seen this man sound irritated for me paging him but, he always shows me another side. This past time, he had the nurse call to see how my daughter was on a Saturday. He always waves and makes it a point to say hello when we are in, even when we are not there to see him. This whole practice is amazing. I could not get through the things my kids have happening medically with out this practice. Without Doc Daining, we would simply be lost. I can't repay this office for all the times they have pulled my family through some tough ordeals with medically related things. I just know we have the best of the best and as a mom it makes my job easier.

Our pediatrician was great, as were all of the other doctors who we ended up seeing. I had a poor experience with the office staff however.

Kristin Davison

I really like coming to Alger Pediatrics. Every doctor we have seen has been polite and attentive. Dr. R is efficient and sweet with our child, but also takes the time to answer all our crazy parent questions when needed. I like that they have early morning walk ins for urgent issues but we have only used it once. They also don't take non-vaccinated kids so I also appreciate that. I picked this place because when I was pregnant I asked every doctor and every nurse where they take their kids and they said Alger Peds.

Rebecca Maycroft

We Love Dr Hoffman. With 8 kids we have spent a lot of time at the office for checkups and critical care. The staff is friendly and informative. They are up on the latest research and best practices. I highly recommend this office for your pediatric needs.

Leticia Garcia

This pediatric office met my needs as nursing mom, and it defenetly meets the needs of my children. I strongly recommend it.
