My Experience is HORRIBLE, BECAUSE Someone close to me is Still being given a MEDCIAL Prescription, That has Very Bad side Effects, and I've called to let Ms.Dr. Travis Staff know My About WORRIES; And Doc. I've been going here since moving to Boston 2+ years ago. Had an issue which Dr. Robinson exceeded all expectations across - from her willingness to make time in her already booked schedule to fit me in the next day for the procedure, clearly informing me of the risks/what to expect, her calming nature during the procedure itself and the final result. Once Dr. Robinson left, I was referred to Dr. Kim, who has been equally impressive and accommodating. As we got to know each other, she was genuinely intent on understanding my prior care with Dr. Robinson and building trust with me. Over time, as we established this trust, I began inquiring about some cosmetic procedures, which Dr. Kim objectively explained the potential risks/rewards of. At no time, did I feel pressured - Dr. Kim wanted me whole-hardheartedly own the decision and feel good about it. I originally had an appointment scheduled, which I cancelled as I thought I was ready, but wasn't and Dr. Kim completely understood. Ultimately, in time, I elected to move forward with the procedures and couldn't be happier - the results have been fantastic. Everything about my interactions with SCP has been top-notch - the doctors, nurses and the facilities - and highly recommend!

I've been coming here for years, but no more. On multiple occasions I've been kept waiting in the waiting room while nobody offers updates or explanations. Even when they're "on time" it's typically at least fifteen minutes after the time of my appointment before I'm in the treatment room. The staff is always friendly, however, but that doesn't do me much good when I'm falling asleep in the waiting room after having taken half a day off work for my appointment. Also, I'm always being treated by a resident, so the quality of the procedures varies greatly.

I've been researching skin specialists for possible skin rejuvenation treatments. I strongly believe it's extremely important to make sure to go to a high quality provider and sometimes that means paying a higher price. I have received filler procedures in another state and have had good and horrible results--all by the same physician. I am now considering something that is actually going to resurface my skin and encourage collagen growth. "Oops" is not an option. I asked some trusted friends and my medical advisers for references and continually heard the same name, Dr. Dover of SkinCare Physicians. Thus, I made my consultation appointment in March, 2014. I was so comfortable at the conclusion of my consultation, I decided to have a filler treatment that same day and am very pleased with the results. Yes, the individual cost for each type of vial is more expensive than other places, but Dr. Dover is so talented in placement, he is able to achieve exceptional results with less product. So in the end, the cost equals out. I felt I was in very good hands during the entire process. He's a great communicator and maintains a high standard of professionalism. His Assistant and staff were equally as good in all that they did. Honestly, I will definitely return and highly recommend Dr. Dover and his entire staff. I had read negative reviews on Google and was concerned even though my personal medical adviser had spoken highly of Dr. Dover. I specifically joined Angie's List so I could read what I felt would be more objective reviews. I wrote a review on Angie's List before visiting his office and promised to do a follow-up after, which took me a bit of time. It's actually better that it has because I can report months later that I am still extremely happy with the results and will definitely continue to go to Dr. Dover. I had read somewhere in one of those Google reviews that the office was cold and unwelcoming. Nothing could be further from the truth. The office was exactly what I would expect a professional practice to be and each and every person I came in contact with was warm and welcoming. I plan to continue to go to Dr. Dover for many years to come.

After I went home I was experiencing some pain from the donor site. Dr Rohrer returned my call and was concerned that I had some pain. Dr Rohrer called in a prescription and it helped immensely. Today I had my stitches removed and was pleasantly surprised at how the area had healed in just a week. Thank you Dr Rohrer for the great job and your caring bedside manor.

I waited almost an hour before Dr. Sikora saw me and she spent 5 minutes with me and I had to go relieve my baby sitter. They then tried to charge me $150. No one told me about this fee and I assumed Dr. Sikora was like Dr. Phillips billed through insurance. Since I was rushed out the door I had to call back with f/u questions based on our visit and Dr. Sikora said I would have to come back to answer those questions so she could charge me another 150. The only reason I was rushed was because I had to wait an hour to see her and there was hardly any apology and then she wouldn't take the time to answer my few questions over the phone. She billed my insurance for a full 15 minute visit even though I could not pursue treatment without her answering the questions over phone. I didn't know it would costs $300 to get a doctor's complete consult before deciding on the best treatment. Maybe there are other great doctors here but Dr. Sikora is not one. Apparently I should go see Dr. Dover based on these reviews!

I have been going to Skin Care Physicians for years. Dr. Jeffrey Dover and Dr. Tania Phillips have been fantastic. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, had surgery and radiation, and healed up. The scars from the surgery are gradually disappearing, but the obvious thing still left were small dark dots – 5 in total – that were tattooed onto my chest, to assist the Radiation Techs in aligning the equipment each day for my radiation treatments. After my treatments, I asked the Radiation Oncologist how I could remove the tattoos and she said she never had that question, and that most women leave them “in case the cancer comes back so it will be easier to do the radiation”. I was in shock that I should live my life with the expectation that the cancer WILL return, and that I should be OK with the presence of these ugly dots all over my chest! The ongoing presence of those dots was a daily reminder of the breast cancer, at the time 2 years later, and all I went through to be rid of it. I complained about the tattoos at an appointment with Dr. Dover one day, and he told me about a program they created at Skincare Physicians, that offered to treat the radiation tattoos pro bono, or at no charge, for women who went through radiation treatments! I could not believe my ears! I immediately made an appointment to have the tattoos removed. I showed up at my first appointment, and was shocked and disappointed that they could not start the treatments, since I needed preapproval from my radiation oncologist to allow the dots to be removed! I couldn’t believe I could not make this decision for my own body, but I made the call and got the approval so treatment could begin. I want to be clear that removal is not a fast process. I have been getting treated about every 10 weeks or so for a year, and so far, one dot has completely disappeared, and the others are slowly fading away. I am so grateful to be getting all these treatments at no charge, and to see the dots fading like my scars. Soon, when I look in the mirror, all I will see back is me!

This office is totally profit driven! They are very expensive. They prey on people's insecurities. I went to see Dr. Dover for spots on my face. Even though he told me they didn't have any effective method of treatment, he still put me down for three laser treatments. They'll ruin your life! Nervous about breakouts before my wedding I saw Dr. Sobel who mindlessly put me on an oral antibiotic. A few months after the wedding I went back and wondered about going off the medication. In a casual tone he suggested that I could stay on it because eventually "I just wouldn't need them anymore." Looking back I cannot believe I stupidly thought my body would just miraculously change and no longer need a medicine I now had grown dependent on. The result was staying on the pill for almost a year, thus killing the good bacteria in my system and causing an overgrowth of yeast throughout my body. (read up on candida overgrowth) This review is coming over two years after my visit, when I am still experiencing symptoms of yeast overgrowth, despite a candida diet and probiotics. I can no longer eat freely sugary, starchy foods or drink beer without getting a raging yeast infection or sleep issues. As others have said, don't be fooled...if you follow their haphazard advice you may be doing irreparable damage to your body.

I was referred by my Dermatologist in Maine to Dr. Dover and Surgeon Dr. Rohrer. I had a large bulbous nose called Rhinophyma. I could touch my lower lip with my nose. I went in March 20, 2017 for the operation. Yes I was nervous, but it was a breeze. I watched the whole thing, no pain at all. I was told to bring a driver for the drive back to Maine, but felt good enough to drive, I did have a driver ( would not recommend driving alone). I followed directions for 2-3 weeks with no pain and after my final check up on April 19, 2017, I have a beautiful nose. They were fantastic in patient care, friendly, helpful and most of all knowledgeable, that means all of them, all staff included. Dr. Dover was caring and excellent in lining up the operation, and Dr. Rohrer was great in performing the surgery. I could not be happier and would recommend them to everyone. I would also give them permission to show my pictures before and after. You will be amazed. Thank you Skin Care Physicians.

In the last year I started seeing Dr Kim (after reading positive reviews and not being pleased with the previous doctor I had been seeing there). I have had adult acne for 8 years and no doctor had been able to help with it. Dr Kim gave me a different medication and completely changed my skin for the best. I was referred to Dr. Dover by a respected dermatologist for treatment of Rosacea and Actinic Keratosis, a precancerous skin condition, along the side of my nose and facial area. After 3 sessions which included topical treatments along with laser, I am thrilled that these areas are now noticeably smoother, much less red, the Rosacea has resolved and there is little evidence of these pre-cancer skin conditions. Dr. Dover's staff is extremely professional and knowledgeable. SkinCare Physicians offers an impressive "team" approach to patient care and cosmetic treatment. I saw all the high reviews and called to book a consultation. Unfortunately, after taking all of my information, they informed me that the consultation fee is $150. I asked if that was applied to the procedure cost, they said no. Basically, this is just an additional hidden fee since even if you go through with a multi thousand dollar treatment they don;t waive the consultation fee, nor do they apply it to your treatment cost. I even asked about booking a medical dermatology appointment and discussing possible treatments during that appointment, and the receptionist told me they would still charge me $150 for the consultation fee which would not be reimbursed by insurance. I will be looking elsewhere.

Hooray!! For over a decade I have been suffering with ugly yellowish deposits of cholesterol underneath the skin surrounding my eyes known as xanathalsma. Two dermatologists in Naples, Florida suggested I just live with it. Finally, I went to Dr. Kenneth Arndt at the internationally famous, highly regarded Skincare Physicians. Dr. Arndt very confidently, sweetly, competently said we can most definitely fix that right now if you like. He together with a gorgeous assistant gently removed these thick, gross deposits in a short period of time with a low tech machine, no cutting, no scars, minimal discomfort, no stitches and I was out of the office with an ice pack in no time. I was a little swollen, about 10 days later I looked more than 10 years younger and could go out socially without my dark glasses and having to explain to everyone what was growing around my eyes. I recently had my first appointment at Skincare Physicians with Dr. Jeffrey Sobell. I was first struck by the ease of the check-in process and the professionalism of the waiting room staff; all told I was in the waiting room for less than five minutes before Dr. Sobell's nurse, Kristen, brought me to a room. Kristen was able to collect my medical history quickly and accurately using the tablet she carried and was very personable as she asked her questions. I found Dr. Sobell to be very thorough and willing to answer all of my questions. From experience with other physicians I would give him top marks for his patient interaction; he seemed like a genuinely caring doctor who was willing to take time to help me understand what he was saying- at no point did I feel rushed or that he was distracted (which is not always the case). I am happy to give Skincare Physicians a 5-star review and will certainly be using their services going forward for my own and my family's needs.

Dr. Kelly Buchanan at the Chestnut Hill location has been my dermatologist for over a year now. She is extremely knowledgeable and pays special attention to my skin -- she put me on medication for my acne (which has been virtually clear since I started seeing her) and was sure to take me off the oral medication as early as possible and before the summer (to avoid complications in the sun). Her advice has not only helped my skin, but has also saved me money because she recommended cheap face wash and moisturizing products to replace my expensive beauty store brands. The office itself is clean and organized, staff is nice and respectful, and they hold appointment times exceptionally well -- I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time to be seen. I highly recommend this group.

If you have adult acne (or just acne in general,) this is the place to go!! I am 25 and have been struggling with acne for 10 years now. I have seen multiple dermatologists over the years and none of their treatment plans helped. I've been seeing Kelly Buchanan (PA-C) and Meredith Kiy (Aesthetician) for almost 3 months now and my acne is pretty much gone other than the occasional PMS breakouts!! I couldn't be happier with the results. Kelly and Meredith are the sweetest and make you feel super comfortable and optimistic. They really take the time to listen to your concerns and answer any questions you might have. All the dermatologists I've seen in the past are cold and rush you in and out. So it's nice to finally feel welcomed and cared for. The staff is attentive and helpful. I've never had to wait long for my appointments and the overall vibe of the place is happy and positive. Again, if you have been struggling with acne, make an appointment with them ASAP. You won't be disappointed!

My experience at SkinCare Physicians was less than professional. I was there as a new patient with concerns with different skin-spots. I was new to Boston, Dr. Arnt was recommended, and from his resume, it appeared he had more than enough experience to perform an exam, answer questions, and provide a typical doctor visit/exam that would be ... benefical. I explained I had concerns with specific spots on my skin, and I had not seen a dermotologist about them before... he proceeded to be shockingly rude, ask me why in the world I was even there, remained flippant, and proceeded to be completely dismissive in his behavior and remarks. Even when I specifically and finally had to request he look at speicific locations on my skin where I was concerned, he proceeded to say " I do not know what that is-never seen it before... then he had no further discussions when I asked ... "What?" "Could you please explain never?" Unbelieveable! Completely ridiculaously rude especially given it was a first doctor visit. Dr. Arnt was the most most unhelpful, inappropriately dis-interested, and un-informative doctor in relation to my personal health that I have ever met. So extremly shocking and mind-numbingly inappropriate that I regret I did not just think to just "shout" my way out of shock and refuse to pay for such a complete "joke" of a doctor visit. I have an appointment this month at a completely new practice and want to say that I still have fears that Dr. Arnt was so lapse in providing services, information, and a real exam that I still don't know if there will be anything wrong or not... I am a new patient of Dr. Karen Kim at SkinCare Physicians. I went to Dr. Kim for a consultation for cosmetic treatments regarding facial scarring and general aging of the face. Dr. Tania Phillips was amazingly helpful to me in just one visit. After having had an open ulcer for over a year and a half on my right ankle, under the treatment of a local doctor, I was referred to the wound specialist, Dr. Phillips, at the Boston Medical Center. Changing the dressing daily, using sterile gauze and zinc oxide, and elevating my leg as much as possible was the ongoing treatment plan. In spite of my careful attention to cleanliness, it developed month long infections 3 times during that year and a half. My physician ordered blood tests to determine whether I had diabetes or some additional problem that was adding to the challenge of its healing. But the only contributing factor was what is called “venus insufficiency” which created swelling in my ankles. So I was put on fluid retention medication. But still, it continued. I went to a nearby Wound Clinic several times for second opinions and additional help. But their solutions didn’t heal the ulcer. However, when I saw Dr. Phillips, the examination of both of my legs and ankles was more thorough than had been done before. Her diagnostic skill was clearly evident. She determined what I needed. And she recommended the use of a medical devise for one hour a day that massages my feet and legs, pushing the blood from my ankles back up through my legs to counter the problem of fluid retention. After just one visit, my ulcer began to heal. Within two weeks it disappeared. I am tremendously grateful for Dr. Phillips’ experienced “eye” and thoughtful care.

Great office, highly skilled physicians’, staff combined with personalized treatment makes the patient care and experience very unique. I can't believe some of the whiners here. The service here is very prompt and professional. Please remember that some people visiting the doctors are there to have skin cancer treated. SkinCare Physicians does that to my utmost satisfaction. Some of the posters here sound like they need a combo dermatologist/psychiatrist.

After my last experience with a dermatologist I was quite hesitant on getting the red spot on my forehead checked out. Expecting a long wait to get an appointment I was quite surprised at how quickly they were able to get me an appointment. I was seen by Dr. Sobell for the spot on my forehead as well as a body scan for other potential issues. He did a biopsy on the spot and it came back as melanoma. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kim who performed the Mohs procedure. Having had the same procedure done a few years back, at a different practice with so so results, I was amazed at how thorough Dr. Kim and the staff at Skincare Physicians were. Dr. Kim even did a follow up phone call herself to make sure all was going well and if I had any questions to not hesitate to call. 8 stitches and 2 months later you can't even notice where the procedure was on my face. Having a business where I'm the face of my business my appearance is of utmost importance. I am extremely grateful for the service received from Skincare Physicians of Chestnut Hill and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for skincare issues.

Hooray!! For over a decade I have been suffering with ugly yellowish deposits of cholesterol underneath the skin surrounding my eyes known as xanathalsma. Two dermatologists in Naples, Florida suggested I just live with it. Finally, I went to Dr. Kenneth Arndt at the internationally famous, highly regarded Skincare Physicians. Dr. Arndt very confidently, sweetly, competently said we can most definitely fix that right now if you like. He together with a gorgeous assistant gently removed these thick, gross deposits in a short period of time with a low tech machine, no cutting, no scars, minimal discomfort, no stitches and I was out of the office with an ice pack in no time. I was a little swollen, about 10 days later I looked more than 10 years younger and could go out socially without my dark glasses and having to explain to everyone what was growing around my eyes. Thank you. Thank you Dr. Arndt. You are the very best, and have once again proven, as many friends have since confirmed, that you are an expert among experts and have devoted your life and career to serving other people in a gentle, outstanding manner. I also highly recommend Dr.. Heher who did my eyelid surgery and Dr. Roher, a plastic surgeon who removed a lump from my forehead, which left no visible scarring. On the rare occasion that I post a remark on Google Review, it would have been precipitated by either a negative experience or an exceptional one. In the case of Skin Care Physicians, it is a most exceptional one. I have been a patient of SCP for nearly 25 years. My ongoing area of interest is best described as an aesthetic one or a cosmetic concern. Typically, you would not expect a man to be so candid in his admission to undergo various cosmetic procedures and treatments. However, in my case, working as a domestic and international actor, both in both film and television, necessitates that I maintain a competitive edge. My principal consultant has always been Dr. Jeffery Dover. Over the years, I have been treated with great care and attention by other physicians in residence at SCP, e.g. Dr.'s Jeffery Sobell and Michael Kaminer. However, my essential contact has always been Dr. Dover. It is appreciated, that when you are turning your "mask" (as we say in the theater) over to another for various laser or procedural handling, it should be considered most carefully. It should also be noted, that while having ongoing treatments for extended time frame, one could possibly be lulled into a false sense of security. The ideal, is where both patient and physician maintain a stalwart diligence, by consistently having a dialogue about the process, and a thoughtful discussion about expectations and probable results. Dr. Dover intuitively understands this paradigm. His approach to patient care and treatment is immensely patient. In addition, and perhaps most fundamental, is his innate ability to listen to the goals of the patient, while making every possible effort to deliver on those expectations.
