Dr. Parker was great! I don't have a simple health history and she took the time to really understand and speak with me about my health. She was thorough and very friendly. We have high standards when choosing doctors and Dr. Parker definitely hits the mark. I also had very good experiences with the office staff. Would definitely recommend.

I was a patient of Dr. Leighs, she was always polite, educated me on my health status and took her time with me during appointments. Part of the process while pregnant and a patient of Commonwealth OBGYN is to meet with all doctors who may end up delivering your baby. Every doctor I met with during my routine visits was inappropriately late, I waited well over 30 minutes each time - and that is AFTER being brought back to the patient room. Dr. Ackerman and Pettyjohn rushed my prenatal apointments. Looking back now, I should have yelled at them to slow down, it was just really poor, poor treatment from those two doctors. I ended up having issues and delivering my baby early so my care was transferred to BWH high risk doctors. My advice to expectant mothers is to just go and deal directly with BWH, you are going to end up delivering there anyway. If anyone from Commonwealth OBGYN is reading this - please make more of an effort to turn your phones on during business hours. I would constantly call and be put through to an answering service and I understand that is normal for when you are closed but Monday - Friday 9-5 this is not acceptable. Hire another receptionist, just don't make your patients constantly call the answering service and have to wait for a call back.

Dr. Ackerman (and every staff member I encountered) was incredibly warm and helpful, talking me through concerns I had and preparing me for my surgery and recovery. I felt well cared for throughout.

I love this place! I went through complete hell durimg my first pregnancy. The doctors were amazing. When I discovered I was pregnant with my first, I was 6 wks along. I had already been to 3 other places before becoming a patient at Commonwealth. All places told me I was going to misscarry before 3 mons. I even had one place try to prepare/convince me mentally that I was going to lose my son (who is now a year old by the way). I suffered from preeclampsia, infections & hyperemesis gravidarum (extreme morning sickness) and honestly if it wasn't for Dr Leigh, Jessica (the nurse practitioner) , Dr Ackerman and Dr PettyJohn, I don't think I would have gotten through the pregnancy. My son was born last year and is perfect. When I found out I was pregnant with my second child, I had no doubt where I wanted to go for prenatal care. I returned to Commonwealth and though I delivered early, the doctors were extremely helpful and still are. I am 1 week pp with my daughter. I haven't had any issues with them and if I ever get pregnant again, I will gladly return to Commonwealth.

Dr. Ackerman is the best. Trust her so much and the entire practice is outstanding.

This is the most wonderful OB-GYN practice! They have delivered 3 of my 4 babies, and all of my experiences with the physicians and NPs have been extremely positive. They always listened to my concerns, and I feel so lucky to be in their expert care. This practice came highly recommended by my colleagues, and now I recommend them to every woman that I know.

Absolutely best OB experience I could have ever asked for! Love the practice and especially Dr. Pettyjohn. She helped me through early complications in my first pregnancy and has been amazing now for my second pregnancy. In fact, I am rarely in the city, but still drive in over an hour for all my appoinments because there is no way I will go to a different practice for this pregnancy. I never wait for my appointments and they even take me in early when I arrive ahead of time. Ultrasounds are done in the same building and bloodwork can be done at Quest on the first floor - SO easy and convenient. I could not ask for more!

Dr. Ackerman is amazing! I've been treated by her for a long time and she has always been excellent. The waiting area is good and the staff is efficient and friendly.

Do not see Dr. Neelima Katragadda. I have never had such a horrible experience seeing a doctor. She dismissed me immediately and refused to listen to my symptoms or take me seriously. Her recommendation was exercise for very serious symptoms that continue to affect my life. I left distraught and am seeking help with another physician because of my terrible experience. DO NOT see this physician.

We have had the most amazing doctor deliver both our babies, Dr. Pettyjohn. She is always so patient and thorough and we never feel rushed at appointments. She is always on time. Having a long history to get pregnant Dr. Pettyjohn was so understanding of the anxieties we had thought the pregnancies. Not only is she super amazing and supportive her team is as well from the front desk to the NP to the other doctors in the practice. We would highly recommend this office to any expecting mom.

I would like to say that I NEVER write reviews… but when I had to google the practice to look at hours my jaw dropped with the (in my opinion) inadequate star rating. I’ve been a patient here for 4 years and absolutely LOVE Dr. Leigh. Friends that I have referred to her also say the same. In addition to her, when I have had “urgent” visits with other MDs every other physician has been wonderful. Scheduling is easy, the other team members are always polite. The ultrasound office upstairs is also WONDERFUL and the techs/radiologists discuss their findings then and there.

To begin with, funniest thing about this place is it is a obs/ Gyn clinic. One is advised to drink lot of water in pregnancy, and they do not even have a water fountain. Timeliness is a big issue. If doctor is running late, it is not an issue. If you are running late, they reschedule u same day after couple if hours. In my experience, never be decent to call n let them know that you might be late. I left my baby home for my last visit, I was late due to his health condition and traffic of MA. I decently called them and anyways, if I had not called doctor was running late. But I had to wait in that condition for 1.5 hr in their office. First visit is always nice but then they rush you through appointment. once before, nurse practitioner left appointment halfway by saying I have to leave. Doctors are good and thorough but giving information in normal pregnancy is minimal. I had to largely rely on pregnancy and for that.

It is surprising to see those few good reviews here on Yelp. My experience was quite different and surprisingly bad. I have been to the Commonwealth OBGYN four times in total. Every time there has been a problem. It is really hard to build up any kind of trust in this place. The first time: lt was my first time to meet the doctor( Dr Ashley Ackerman). Everything seems to be rosy and fine, so l decided to stay with this practice. However, the upcoming experience gradually chipped away my trust in this practice. I had very bad cough and morning sickness and even abnormal weight gain starting from the 8 weeks. I called the nurse line 3 times. They couldn't care less and didn't give me any useful information. They were so cold and impatient on the call. l wasn't able to schedule any appointment with the Doctor(Dr Ashley Ackerman) until 15 weeks. I was also told l had to meet nurse practitioner first. The second time: l met the nurse practitioner. She rushed through the whole appointment. Occasionally, she would look at me and ask whether l have any other questions. But her answers had less information than any article l can easily find on google. Meanwhile, l said l had a few questions for the doctor. She insisted that she could answer all my questions. Downstairs, l went to the Quest. The nurses tries 4 times and couldn't get any blood. They lost confidence. l decided to go somewhere else. I went to the Tufts. The nurse there succeeded on the first try. The worst part was that the nurse practitioner forgot or neglect one of the blood tests l have requested. I didn't figure that out until l moved on to another practice. The doctor there reminded me but l was very far in my pregnancy process at that time. The third time: l had a test there. On the test tube, my name was spelled wrongly. To avoid any confusion, l corrected them. Ironically, l was told that it is common and it doesn't matter. The fourth time, l can finally meet the doctor. I was already 15 weeks pregnant. I contacted Dr Ackerman when l was 6 weeks pregnant. Before the appointment, l called the doctor Dr Ackerman to mention very politely all the concerns about the nurse and the practice. My intention was to keep the communication open. Let the doctor know what l experienced there. Her answer was simply either l could choose to stay or leave. So l decided to leave. She did very politically say sorry but you don't even need to be socially savvy to tell that it was not genuine. Later on, l also learned from my current doctor that l had abnormal weight gain. I gained almost 30 pounds within 2 month while l was with the Commonwealth OBGYN. When l was at the Commonwealth OBGYN, no one even mentioned this to me. Now my weight and health is finally under control. I cannot feel happier about my decision to move on. I wish l did that earlier. l also did some research about the practice and their affiliation with Brigham and Women's Hospital. The interesting part is that Commonwealth OB is more like a franchise. It outsources everything to other practices such as ultrasound, billing, blood work or other tests. The quality of the service is really a concern. I am also worried that if something goes wrong ,no one is there to take responsibilities. It seems to me that they are just renting a place and equipment from the Brigham and women's hospital. I personally do not buy in this kind of operating model.
