Seriously, love this dermatology center! After visiting multiple 5 star rated dermatologists in my area I was still not happy when finally my best friend referred me to The Dermatology Center in Germantown. Now I travel from Frederick and she travels from Hagerstown just to come to this office and we will never go anywhere else. The office is clean and organized while the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I have seen both Dr. Brendan Pillemer and Physician Assistant Jennifer Whitman and I leave feeling confident that I am in good hands every single time. Plus my skin looks amazing! I've always had problems with my skin and since coming to The Dermatology Center I've never felt more confident. Thank you for everything!

Legend has it Dr. Lee sold his soul to the devil to acquire his mystical powers.... Your diagnosis is accurately detected within seconds with the help of his X-ray vision. I wonder if he stands in line at the grocery store and debates to himself whether he should tell the cashier that he has skin cancer. Or if he should tell the sleazy car salesman that his ‘eczema’ is really a terrible scabies infestation. He might not be the best with car buying, so maybe when he realizes that car salesman ripped his *ss off he might just decide to keep it on the downlow. Anyway, Dr. Lee’s the best. 80% of Derms out there are clowns. Don’t roll the dice, go with Master Lee.

Dr. Pillemer was great. He explained everything. Was fast and tactful with great bedside manner. His nurse was a silent grump. She totally ignored my pleasentries and attempt at small chat which I hate doing also but she just seemed to be in a foul mood. If I'm asking you how your day is going just play the stupid game and don't ignore that I'm talking to the only other person in the room. Anyways, I care about the doctor more and he was great.

I had been coming here for years to see Dr. Lee, who is seemingly the smartest, most efficient dermatologist on the East Coast. However, I recently started going for esthetician services. I informed them that because I had just turned 26, I would have a high deductible. They looked into it and assured me there would be no cost to me (besides the co-pay). After the last two appointments, I was sent bills in the mail for $30 and then $75. Before my appointment a few days ago, I asked the front desk to clarify what these bills were for. They had no record of the bills and were unable to find my financial records for these. I talked to the head of billing who was utterly confused and couldn't get a hold of their Bethesda office to check on my financial records. She agreed with me that a place of business should probably retain the financial records of their clients. She was supposed to call me yesterday to clarify the charges and let me know about a reimbursement, and I have yet to hear from the office. As a side note, the esthetician was constantly referring to her South Asian clients like we all have the exact same skin type. Throughout the appointment she would refer to her other South Asian clients as if we are not individuals with our own unique skin care problems. All of this left a terrible taste in my mouth, so I'll discontinue esthetician services there.

Arrogant. I have been there before and patiently waited 15 minutes past my appointment to be seen. On a recent appointment with Dr. Brendan Pillimer, I was running behind a few minutes. I called to let the office know and when I arrived 10 minutes late, they told me the doctor went to lunch and I would have to come back another day. That's not it. I had a previous appointment that I needed to cancel and when I called to do so, their system was down. They asked me to call back at another time. I insisted they simply write down my cancellation and log it when their system comes up rather than making me call back. They never did that and then tried to charge for a missed appointment. There is a complete lack of regard for their customer's (patient's) time.

Dr. Lee is wonderful. I suffered with Rosacea for the longest time and he provided some samples of a sulfur wash and I no longer deal with Rosacea! I've been seeing dermatologists for years with that same problem and none of them were able to clear it up for me other than Dr. Lee. He's also helped me with the unsightly blood vessels on my chin and cheeks. If you're looking for a true professional with years of experience, look no further!

The people who work at the don’t desk are so rude and unprofessional! They lose my paperwork, they hang up on me when I call and if I’m lucky enough to have a full conversation without them hanging up first, they never say goodbye. My last phone call ended with a “mmhmm”. I’m reading all these comments and I’m shocked that people think they are professional. When you finally get past the font desk, it’s great but it sure is a struggle!

I have nothing to against doctors there, but the billing department is HORRIBLE. They don't post your payments and send you a bill. That is not the right way to handle a business finance. Their bills are so confusing, and I have no idea what they billed me for. The billing department needs to have a serious improvement, or hire a staff who can understanding the billing process. Otherwise, they will lose patients in no time.

If it wasn't for Dr. Lee, I would leave this practice and find another doctor. When I was finished with my appointment, I stopped to schedule my next one. The girl was so rude. (I honestly think I was interrupting her playing a game or something on the computer.) She asked me FOUR TIMES when I wanted my appointment!!! Took her forever to schedule, it was obvious she didn't want to be there. If she treats me the same next time, I am going to ask for someone else to help me, maybe then they will make some changes. Also, when my husband was finished with his appointment (right after mine) he stopped and asked the same girl if he needed to do anything, she told him no and before he could even take one step away, the girl asked if she could leave since we were the last.

Recent drain of some kind of cyst (an epdural xypnrtws(?)) on my back was performed by Dr. Pillemar. It was quite infected (grape-sized) and the doc had to make a little cut and try to pop it like a pimple. It was only partially successful due to the amount of infection, but clear instructions and some take-home bandages have it healing nicely. Dr. Pillemar is slight and youthful-looking but is both efficient and quick--my favorite dermatologist of the past 30 years.
