I’m in Washington for work meetings. Last Sunday I started getting some large floaters in one eye. Never experienced this before. I shared this with one of the people in my group who warned me that this could be a symptom of a detached retina and suggested I call my ophthalmologist at home which I did. My doc told me to find a retinal specialist asap. I googled for one and found The Retina Group of Washington which was close to where I was. I called and they told me to come in right away. They fit me into their schedule and after the preliminary exams, I was seen by Dr. Spellman around 6:45 pm! Got out after 7 pm! He conducted a thorough exam, found no détachement but a slight bleeding. He gave me his card, wrote his cell number on the back and told me to call if I experienced any loss of vision during my stay. I have since made an appointment with my own ophthalmologist for when I get home. My visit was $300 up front. It was out of network for me but I’m hoping my insurance will kick in as this was an urgent/emergent situation.

We visit the office every 6 to 8 weeks for treatment. The service is horrible. Wait time can be 3 to 4 hours. Dr. Spellman is told by several clients this is poor customer service He seems to be tone deaf about this issue.

Dr. Spellman is a great doctor. He takes the time to explain my condition and the method of my treatment and any test or medication he uses for me.

Came to this office 1st the receptionist took my ID and left it on her desk while she went to lunch in plain site.the 1s young lady to assist me, was an pleasure. She explained the procedure seated in the waiting ares for testing. The second more portly poor mannered woman was very rude and dismissive. After waiting for 3.5hours to be seen by the doctor. I asked how much longer would be take she told me because I was 5min late this is why I am still waiting. This office obviously has a mismanagement of time issue, customer service problems and this is just the beginning. I will not return a waste of time and effort. Horrible overall staff, subpar service no parking and I could go on but in review dont go here dont wasre your time you'll only be annoyed. Moreover a terrible experience.
