They do "recheck exams" as a scam in order to be able to bill your insurance another time, and if you refuse to come back in it is impossible to get any test results over the phone they just put you on a continuous hold.

One star is too many for my daughters experience there. Your doctors should make sure you are fully informed and stress free regarding your care. 4 months into going there it has been nothing but stress. Pui Hon, the nurse practitioner is the rudest person I have ever met, not to mention she told us she was the doctor!! Only saw the actual doctor twice and second time he introduced himself again like it was her first time. In my experience test results come back in what 2 or 3 days....well they wait for your next visit in 3 weeks to say oh you have a UTI etc. Really! Pick up the phone and call the patient! When she has called with questions regarding billing or insurance, they never get back with the answers. What really made me livid was, my husband her dad, passed away 2 months ago and I became really concerned for her and the baby. She was extremely upset, couldnt eat or sleep for several days. I called to talk to Dr A myself but of course they put Hon on the phone. I started to explain the situation and she cut me right off saying....she's grieving and we wont give her drugs. We're not psychiatrists, call her primary! Really?? What kind of nurse or doctor says that kind of stuff? As of now she has found a new doctor and she requested her files. They faxed her records to her along with 3 other patients paperwork. I'm sure she is not the only one treated this way, so if you choose this practice, good luck!!

As a first time mother I was uncertain of what to really expect throughout my pregnancy. After a subpar experience with another OB, I found Shelby Women’s Health and Dr Mohannad Alshalabi with a google search. I was optimistic about the potential for great prenatal care and Shelby Women’s Health/Dr. Alshalabi was certainly an answer to my prayer. The office is beautiful and serene. The staff is an excellent mixture of professional and personable. I had numerous questions and no one ever seemed hurried in answering my questions. As my pregnancy progressed I had some medical concerns and my care was adjusted to meet my needs. Dr. Alshalabi was present throughout the labor/delivery process which was comforting to me. I did not have to worry about a doctor confusing me with another patient. Dr. Alshalabi was very aware of my case and communicated directions to hospital staff throughout my hospital stay. EVERYONE at Holy Cross Hospital, from the nurses to the doctors, that cared for me knew Dr. Alshalabi and had nothing but great things to say about him. His bedside manner was unmatched. I would certainly recommend Shelby Women’s Health/Dr. Mohannad Alshalabi to all. Thanks Shelby Women’s Health/Dr. Mohannad Alshalabi for EVERYTHING!!!

The actual Dr is never available. He wasn’t even available to deliver my baby. The nurse practitioner however is amazing if only she could be the Dr. in this office. I loved this place when I first came back in 2015 when I was pregnant with my daughter but after a while I noticed I never seen the Dr. Like ever. They suck at communicating. They’ll let you know your appointment is canceled 30mins prior. Like I said it Used to be a great place they’ve just become really lazy and careless. I wouldn’t recommend anymore :( When dealing with health you want the best and we all understand things happen but communication in a timely manner is respected.

I love this practice and the providers. Let me begin with my story, i and my wife has been trying to conceive for years. We are about to give up. My friend actually referred me to this practice. I was seen by the nurse practitioner and the doctor which are the best ever, it changes mindset. Lobg story short, my wife is now pregnant. My first appointment was fine Dr. Alshalabi is a very nice man, he is very caring and considerate. The Chinese lady Prim or whatever her name is on the other hand she is very cold and unconcerned. I have 2 different types of insurance one that covers 70% and the other they don't accept when I first started my prenatal appointments it was understood that upon the delivery of my baby I would be billed for the 30% my insurance did not cover- ok cool, lets move forward. I had about 3 prenatal appointments and then was told I could not come back because my insurance company wouldn't accept the claim at this point I have gone from 18 weeks to about 30 with out seeing my obgyn until the claims got sorted out. Upon my next visit that was so pressing that I come to I was taken back, got all the formalities out the way after waiting for 1 hour in the lobby. I was taken to a room to be seen but instead the nurse that sat in front of me looking me in my face for 1 hour then comes in to tell me that they can no longer provide care to me unless I pay them $1500 down payment for the delivery of my baby (mind you at this point I'm 30 weeks pregnant). I have NEVER in my life heard of a down payment on having a baby Dr. Alshalabi wasn't the doctor in the office that day and the nurse made reference to a "she" not feeling comfortable providing me with care without a down payment first. So I knew exactly who it was requesting the down payment for birth it was the Prim or Pim (Chinese) lady who I had specifically requested not to see anymore because I didn't care for how she handled my first appointment while she herself was very pregnant. Again, Dr. Alshalabi and the young ladies who take the blood and does the weight and blood pressure they are very nice and kind but the rest of the office needs to take a lesson from him and get it together. At now 32 weeks pregnant I have no obgyn. I was given a copy of my file and told "good luck".

I was referred to him after a miscarriage from doctors at the ER, he is great! If it was not for him I would not be carrying my twins that I am 36 weeks pregnant with now. If I have an issue and call they always say come in now, they never tell me to wait. I love his bedside manner as well.

The best OBGYN Some one can ever think of, all the staffs are so nice, they provide the Best services. The nurse practitioner is excellent, compassionate,caring mother,and an experience nurse who knows her job. Let me start with my story; I was transferred by my OBGYN when I was 34 weeks pregnant , I was so worried because I had her with my first child, I personally asked her if my complication was something she don't want to deal with? Or something bad might happen to me during my surgery ? But she assured me that the Doctor she was sending me to I will not regret . My first appointment with Dr Ashalabe was a good start, I was so pleased with him and the staffs, right there I knew I was in a good place. Through out my pregnancy i knew I had placenta Privia, so couple of visits with Dr Ashalabe for 3 weeks and had a c-section. After the baby was removed the Dr noted I had placenta Accreta too. I started bleeding and I loose 4 liters of blood . I Thank God first then Dr Alshalabi for the fast decision he took to save my life and my baby girl. If I was able to have another child I will be very glad to keep this Doctor and his staffs but will be very glad to tell every body I know Dr Alshalabi is the best OBGYN .

I don't even want to give it 1 star. I didn't want to post a review but this is just ridiculous. From the very beginning I should have switched from the time the nurse practitioner Pim, poe whatever her name is told me my baby was going to be retarded and deformed (her words exactly) if I didn't stop smoking, which mind you I had already done cause I said I was a former smoker and my baby boy is very healthy and growing perfectly..to her being very rude and not very pleasant to be around, to the actual doctor never being available, to them making you feel like your questions and concerns are stupid and wrong. I'm GLAD I switched doctors, but what happened just a few minutes ago makes me feel better about my choice. I had my last appointment with them yesterday and got copies of my records, go through them today just to make everything is there....They had 3 different PATIENTS INFORMATION MIXED IN WITH MINE!!! UMMM HELLO!!! They are lucky I called and shredded the copies but still. Makes you wonder how many times that's happened and no one has said anything. I would think twice before going to this practice. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME LADIES!!!

Dr. Alshalabi is great and he delivered our beautiful baby girl safely. For this, I'll be forever grateful for him. However, the process for receiving forms that are requested well in advance is highly unacceptable. I have requested forms multiple times and in every instance, they were not completed in a timely manner, documentation was lost, or forms were claimed to have been faxed but necessary parties never received. You send emails and never get a response, people go on vacation and work isn't properly reallocated, and the labs they work with give misdiagnoses. Versus spending the evening with my daughter today, I have to physically go to their office to obtain a form requested 4 weeks ago. Again, this is unacceptable and I feel any patient should know this in advance before choosing a practice to work with. The least they could do is respond to emails.

This is some of the WORST service that I have had in a long, long time. I waited SIX MONTHS to get an IUD because the doctor was out of town multiple times during the year and could not refer me out, leaving me without a form of birth control. Not to mention, his office staff and the nurses are infuriatingly unhelpful. Every single time I've called, they either cannot give me a straight answer or don't seem to know themselves, and the conversation just runs in circles. I'm immediately switching doctors, as I still have not been able to get an IUD- a simple medical procedure, for which six months wait is completely inappropriate. The only reason this is a two stars and not one is because Dr. Alshalabi is wonderfully nice. That being said, he rushes through appointments, failing to leave time for a patient to even mention any ancillary concerns. I once came in for an appointment with three concerns, and he only let me mention one of the three, briefly addressed it, and then rushed out of the room after about 5 minutes of total consult, and shut himself and his nurse in his office (I assume to debrief or something of the sort), so there was no one else that I could talk to before leaving.

! I'm definitely changing my obgyn !! My first time coming here I was scheduled at a specific time ams ended up waiting for atleast 15-20 mins for someone to see me. I was suppose to go on birth control and the doctor couldn't even tell me all the side effects the pill she was about to prescribe me . She literally told me "well not that much side effects, you'll be fine" then she took out the birth control pamphlet and tried to read it to me... like lady I'm grown I can read myself I expected her to know what she gives out to her patients but she doesn't !! Come to find out the side effects could cause potential liver disease, strokes, and a whole wide variety of detrimental reactions to the body. Okay moving on before she gave me the pill she wanted to make sure if I was pregnant or not... that place ran out of their primary test and just gave me a blood test.. so I basically had to wait a couple days before even taken the pill... turned out I was pregnant even though she still prescribed the pill to me prior before me receiving my results. I did not take any pills but I was certain that they do not know what they are really doing. I was given a blood test for variety reasons that was not explained to me and still have yet received a call for my results and what exactly they needed my blood test for (it's been about 3weeks going on 4). VERY unprofessional I do not trust what they give me I always have to do research and end up finding new ingredients in the medicine they fail to mention to me.I'm changing my obgyn waste of my time. Last ultrasound I had I had to wait over an hour(even though I arrived before my scheduled time) and if I haven't complained I would have waited longer. Everyone has their own experience I just wouldn't personally recommend this place to anyone !! Their services are definitely not worth the money they charge my insurance for .

This place is a scam. The doctor was never sure how to answer my questions and to top it all off when my girl came in for birth control pills they gave her the pills before properly running a test on her to see if she was pregnant. Thank God she never took the pills because she had a feeling she was pregnant. To make matters worth they charge crazy rates for useless appointments. If you have another obgyn place in mind I advise you to go there instead of this place. Not to mention they will have you waiting over an hour even after scheduling a specific time. THEY ARENT WORTH IT.

I recently had a laparoscopic hysterectomy done by Dr. Alshalabi and I am beyond pleased with the results so far. I went home the same day after surgery. I didn’t experience and pain or bleeding after the first day. After 2 weeks I felt ready to return to work and the scars on my belly were completely healed. If you suffer from uterine fibroids and have tried other unsuccessful treatments, this may be the best option. I’m 8 weeks post op and I feel so much better. I feel like my old self again. I thank Dr. Alshalabi and his team for making it happen!

I was very disappointed during my visit to this office. The staff was friendly, the office was clean, but I found the actual service to be subpar. I saw the actual doctor for about 5 minutes and the rest of the appt was spent with the nurse practitioner. I came in regards to problems I had been experiencing with previous medication. The nurse instead of trying to switch my medication, told me I should just deal with my issues. I would suggest going elsewhere.
