I've been going to Dr. Rusonis off and on for 20 years, always to have something simple done, like having a mole removed. I got a horrible second degree burn on top of my foot a week ago and unfortunately went to the urgent care by Howard General Hospital. Even though it was a wide and deep burn on top of my foot, over the vein and next to the bones (which is supposed to be considered major), they didn't prescribe antibiotics or give me anything but Bacitracin. One week later, the area where I had a nickel sized blister popped and became infected (far worse pain than when I actually burned my foot). Dr. Rusonis prescribed a strong internal antibiotic, wrote a prescription for an antibiotic ointment (said Bacitracin is not the best), and he told me to get calcium alginate dressings. He told me to mark with permanent marker the area that was red around the wound and to make sure the area became smaller after a couple of days. He was so wonderful, and I could not have gotten better treatment. I'm SO glad that I went to him and would not go to any other dermatologist!

I guess I should have read these review first. Started on-line. Useful online request for appointment -not. 4 days later, no response so I had to call. Mentioned the lack of response to my online request and the only response I received was hmmmm. I am a potential new patient. Was told that new patients were seen at 3:45pm and the next one was 4 weeks away. I exclaimed that's it, 4 weeks. I was then asked if I wanted to see a PA. NO. Well we may be able to get you in in 3 weeks. Not sure if the actual Doctors or owners of this practice ever read this. But if they do, make some staffing changes. Unless you do not mind driving new business away. If so, good luck with that. You succeeded in never obtaining my business.

Don't ever attempt to cancel or reschedule an appointment here!! You will only get a recording or be able to send an email with NO verification your appointment was cancelled. The only way to actually speak with someone is connecting to the receptionist, which are rude and argumentative at best. Also, if you cancel in less than the 24 hrs and they fill your scheduled appointment slot, you will still be charged the $75 fee or you could show up and only pay your co-pay (that's crazy). As with most things in today's society it's all about the dollar and not customer service.

Terrible, terrible practice. Find a different dermatologist. The first doctor I saw here diagnosed a bacterial infection, without doing any standard lab tests, for what was clearly not bacteria related. He was completely guessing, and prescribed multiple antibiotics. They did nothing for the problem, so I had to schedule another appointment, this time with Rusonis. I made this appointment 4 weeks ago. After waiting a half hour past my scheduled time, I asked how much longer it would be - at least another half hour, putting me at over an hour beyond my scheduled time just to get in the exam room. I was going to leave, but they said they would check if another doctor could see me sooner. Then everyone went back to what they were doing, not helping me at all. Finally I got the office manager to come out, who admitted they double-booked my appointment (and probably others, too), and gave me vague estimates on when I would see a doctor. Finally, I just got my co-pay back and left. I had already wasted too much time and money with them. By the way, I would take some of the other reviews with a grain of salt. For example, one reviewer wrote he was happy with Dr. Spangler and her assistants. You can see at their own website, Amy Spangler is not a doctor, but a physician assistant.

I'd actually give them 0 stars. Although I had my records sent there several months prior to my first appointment it was clear they weren't looked at. I was seeing my previous doctor every 4 months for full body checks because of the frequency of several different types of skin cancers. A Dr Tanya Peters at the Columbia office saw me. She did the shortest check I've ever had. She didn't ask that I remove makeup (I'd come straight from work) which all previous doctors had done. She begrudgingly froze a spot on my chest that I pointed out. Said she'd freeze it if it was really a bother to me. I felt very unsatisfied when I left. I was told they couldn't fit me in for my next full body check for at least a year but I could get a 'partial' check in 6 months. She said partial meant areas that had seen the sun. I went back to my previous doctor for another full check two months later even though the office had relocated some distance away. The place on my chest was biopsied-it is a squamous cell cancer and needs removal via Mohs. There is another squamous cell spot on my nose-also needs Mohs. Needless to say I'll never go back to and never recommend Dr Rusonus's practice in Columbia.

HORRIBLE WAIT TIME. THEY TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO SEE ME. RUSHED ME IN AND BARELY LISTENED TO MY HUSBANDS PROBLEMS. HORRIBLE SERVICE. DR. PAUL RUSONIS IS EITHER ARROGANT OR HIS STAFF DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SET APPOINTMENTS. GREEDY.

I could NOT have been MORE PLEASED. Dr. Beckett and her Nurse were highly professional and exceptionally competent. As good a dermatologist and clinic as I have been to. The other reviews have a right to their opinion, but I have a right to mine. This is an outstanding dermatology clinic. But, it is so good, I don't want everyone else to go there, or I wont be able to get an appointment :-)

I am very happy with Dr. Spangler and her assistant(s). As with the prior poster my experience has been that they are thorough, professional and insurance concious. I have been going to this office for a few years and wait times are also never an issue. I have and will continue to recommend this practice to others.
