I went in to try to get ointment for bad bug bites. Dr Eaton performed a biopsy instead with a few stitches. Without proper sterilization, the wound then got infected. A simple bug bite turned into biopsy cut and then turned into having to taking antibiotics for infection! :-(

This was my first visit to Annapolis Dermatology..Old Mill Bottom Rd North. I saw Dr..Buckley for several suspicious moles which she removed immediately. I am being treated by a rheumatologist for psoraissis BUT Dr. Buckley picked up on my hair loss (probably to due Prednisone) and she is also going to treat that. Her assistant Courtney inserted the needles for numbness, painlessly, and thoroughly explained aftercare instructions. She was very nice as were the girls at the front desk. I had an unacceptable experience at this clinic. My appointment was made for a doctor but I was seen by Nurse Practitioner Danielle Goldberg. The exam was so fast she never saw a spot that I had to point out between my toes, which she then determined to be problematic and it was removed. The biopsy showed it was necessary to have had it removed, glad I spoke up. But, if I hadn't pointed it out, it would have been overlooked. Then, one week after that appointment, I went to another clinic for a spot on my head that, upon biopsy, was also problematic. I'm concerned that at my Annapolis Dermatology visit my scalp was never examined. I have very light and fine blonde hair. Would an older man or woman's scalp with thinning hair have been examined? So, Annapolis Dermatology really missed one, if not two, dangerous marks on my body. I do believe my exam was rushed and half-hearted because I am young to have such serious dermatology concerns. Unfortunately, age-related discrimination by health care providers happens frequently and poses real dangers to patients. And then followed a billing nightmare. Close to $400 to have one small mark removed and biopsied, after insurance. They use a different agency for preparation of slides than the laboratory the specimens are ultimately sent to. So I received three separate and sizable bills for my one simple procedure. A procedure (including biopsy!) I can pay less than $200 out-of-pocket to do with a top ranked cosmetic surgeon.
