REVIEWS OF Advanced Dermatology Bel Air IN Maryland

They were asked to call me (daughter) for issues and appt reminders instead of my 87 year old father. Bc they called him we did not know that the office had moved and we were late. Plus office not easy to find if unfamiliar with area. In reading reviews it appears that they assume patients have access to a computer. On the upside, Dr Cooper was very nice and thorough!

Everyone has a very good spirit. All the staff are upbeat, nice, friendly and courteous. Would recommend to family and friends.

I had a great first time experience while being cared for here. I have decided to allow them to become my primary doctor for me as I love the fast pace and fast track check in for patients.

After reading all the bad reviews I felt a need to place my experience. This place was referred to me by a friend who has psoriasis. I was very unsure after I read the reviews but made the appt anyway. They were pretty booked up but fit me in when they had a cancelation. I started there in February with terrible terrible psoriasis on both legs and both arms. I have been there a total of 2 times and all my psoriasis is gone and I go back tomorrow for my 3 month shot. I couldn't be more pleased with the doctor or any of her staff. Everything was explained in detail, the front desk was very curtious, everyone was great!!! And I highly recommend! !!!

The office is clean and has updated decor. The staff are always kind and helpful. The providers are punctual and I am always seen on time. They work with my busy schedule and go above and beyond to make things convenient for me. My phones calls are always returned and scripts filled immediately. I couldn’t be more happy with my care!

Best experience hands down I have had with a medical professional! I had a medical need to see a doctor and the girls at the front got me squeezed into the schedule when no other derm practice in harford county could see me for months. The place was professional and nicely designed. The wait time to get called back and then for the doctor to come to my exam room was less than two minutes. Never has this happened before in my LIFE! The doctor was kind, professional and really listened to my issues and concerns. I left feeling like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and a care plan in place. Truly a life changing experience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ADVANCED DERMATOLOGY!

Jill McKay

Dr. Englert is thorough and personable. I've been getting my annual mole patrol from her for years. Nothing but praise. The entire staff is friendly and helpful.

Deborah Campbell

Hydro Facial with Medical Aesthetician and Nurse Mellissa Honerlah at the new location Advanced Dermatolgy is amazing and my recommendation for skincare and anti-aging!

Actually had to go into the office for a 30 SECOND appointment to tell me my biopsy was fine.....They charged my insurance $195. Appointment literally took ONLY 30 seconds, said biopsy was negative and I left!

Advanced Dermatology (Abingdon) is great! I’ve never had to wait long to see a provider. I normally see Todd McCloskey (Go Terps!) for my skin cancer screenings and he is very personable. I’ve also seen a few other of the providers who are very kind and knowledgeable. I’ve never had any issues getting in for an appointment. The staff is very friendly. The office really runs like a well oiled machine. Wouldn’t trust my skin with anyone else.

Jennifer, the NP was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helped me solve my issue quickly. Had great recommendations on how to treat it and was eager to offer OTC options before prescription options. I would recommend her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and informal dermatologist.

Margaret Jarrett

Check-in was friendly, professional, & done in a timely manner. I Had a procedure done, by Dr. Jennifer Cooper, & Felicia. Both, Explained, & answered all questions professionally. Made sure I was comfortable, relaxed, & at ease. Keep me included in conversation. Both were friendly, professional, & worked well as a team. Keep up the Good work. In all, I like the experience I had with Advanced Dermatology, & would recommend the practice. Have a Good Day.

Timothy Ingram

Very prompt. Staff was very responsive to my concerns and answered my questions in a professional manner. Highly recommend them to anyone.

RJ Mascelli

Excellent care. What give 5 Stars if I wasn't in strong disagreement with their office policy of having to get another appointment in order to get your lab results back.

Christopher and Alison Sheaffer

I personally have been going here for a few years. I get my yearly, I have things removed and tested and they have ALWAYS been nothing but pleasant and professional AND they get me in a short notice if I have an issue. In addition I get my facials done here and they are great as well.

Jodie

Cooper is wonderful and so is her staff! They are almost always running on time with very little wait times even when the waiting room looks full. I have never had a bad experience with them. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ I arrived early, for the usual sign in, fill out any paperwork needed, etc . To my surprise, I hadn't finished my paperwork, when my name was called. I must say, this place is AMAZING!!!! The staff, very understanding, knowledgeable. The Dr.,.......let's just say, if all drs were near as compassionate, understanding, & actually listen to what a patients concerns are, there would be more trust in drs. The Dr explained what, when, & how procedure would be done if a procedure was to follow . Not to mention, as I said, I arrived early, only to be done & out the door before my actual appt time. That's saying ALOT..................... ADVANCED DERMATOLOGY (ABINGDON OFFICE) HAS OUTSTANDING DRS AND STAFF VERY PROFESSIONAL!!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Worse service, incompetent staff and pushes a biopsy for everything and deceives you into believing the biopsy services are "fully covered" by insurance, when they are not - including hidden billing that should have been disclosed by the separate pathology service. Further, they found no findings from the biopsy - which my immunologist claimed as absolutely unnecessary - and I'm now stuck with a permanent scar from the biopsy and out of hundreds of dollars.

Jeanette Rose

Very professional. Ready to provide you with what you need to get your skin care needs met! Staff are all wonderful and friendly.

To start off, I was not notified they moved locations so I was late to my appointment because I went to the old location and then could not find the place. When I arrived I was told I needed a referral (even though I knew I didn’t), so I got one faxed immediately. Then I was charged a $60 copay instead of $40 when I told them multiple times it should be a $40 copay and they even told me it would be $40 when I made my appointment. The lady who saw me was not very helpful with what I went in there for. Then when I went to checkout I was told that I did not need a referral in the first place which I told them and was still told I was to pay $60. So then I called my insurance company and I was right. I was only suppose to pay a $40 copay. Unfortunately I will not be back.

My daughter had been treated for psoriasis all her life. A few years ago, she was in her 20's, the PA at advance told her she did not have psoriasis and would not renew her RX's. When she got upset and said so, they weren't understanding or nice about it. They did not want to get to the bottom of the problem. Instead they sent her a letter telling her Not to come back. VERY unprofessional and cold. They are obviously not in the business to help people, they are in it for the money. Would not recommend this office/doctor.

Annie Park

Less than satisfied - only go here if you need routine prescriptions. The physician's assistants were not experienced and rude.

This office was very excellent came in sign in wait not long gave info call me back in a few min waited for dr. Not long at all she was very hands on understanding the staff very friendly i would referred alot of people to this office⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Unfortunately you have to give 1 star or your comment won't post. This office deserves Zero. Very rude front desk staff. My chronically ill daughter had to cancel her 4th appointment because she is in the hospital The lady who answered the phone was rude! Telling my daughter that her cancelling again was 'unacceptable' and they 'can't have that'. She made my daughter feel horrible. I will never deal with them again. My daughter has a chronic illness and has been in the hospital more then she has been home the past 5 months which is why she had to cancel her appointments. No one deserves to be treated disrespectfully much less a person dealing with health issues.

donald baker

Very prompt and attentive. Showed up ten minutes before my appointment and was seen before my appointment time. Extremely personable and pleasant

My daughter was very stressed about an inflamed scar that had previously been injected. Bethany phoned in a prescription to help with the inflammation so that she could attend prom with less anxiety. We will be forever grateful.

Gina Kennedy

Terrible place don't waste your time. They don't do a simple skin scrape for an allergy. They don't want to do anything except pushing biopsies on uneducated people. They push products on me instead I asked why don't you do a simple skin scrape? Find out what the problem is. Their answer to everything is get a biopsy or purchase products. The doctor I saw was very rude and unempathetic. I wasted my day going there. Don't go if you expect to be treated as cattle! Oh ,and the front staff are untolarably rude. One staff phone woman shouted in my ear whilst calling a paitent.

It seems to be a theme on these reviews that the provider is requiring patients to come in to the office to discuss biopsies. This is not medically indicated unless the wound care is complicated, such as due to disease state (DM) or complicated excision of the lesion. My wife fell victim to this. She was forced to come into the office, pay a hefty copay so that the provider could tell her that nothing was wrong and to change the band-aid. I have reported the behavior to the insurance company. Hopefully, either the provider will take heed that this is not acceptable and stop, or be audited and made to stop.

emily

I will not be returning to this practice due to office policy of not providing results of my skin biopsy over the phone. I was required to come back in to receive results in person (results were negative so no further counseling was required). My insurance was billed $195.00 for this less than 5 minute office visit. Definitely could have been done over the phone to save time and money.

the opposer

I agree with Emily about biopsy results and needless appointments. To get ahead of this problem, I asked for results by phone up front so I don't have to make another appointment and pay for an office visit for a benign result. I have a high deductible plan, so each visit is hundreds of dollars. The lady behind the desk said she couldn't guarantee that and she'd get a nurse to answer. Then she said I'd have to take this appointment first and the doctor would answer. This practice appears to be profit motivated and not focused on the patient's exorbitant costs.

I had an appointment back in 2014 and ended up having to deal with the third party biller myself, since no front office staff seemed interested in making sure bills payments were accurate in the system. I confirmed with the biller the payment was received. Just recently in 2018, after finding a dermatologist who correctly diagnosed me with a rare skin condition I wanted my medical records copied from this place so my new derm would have a full history. This place called me back and said they wouldn't release the records until I paid my 2014 balance. I called their third party biller again and told her the situation. The biller indicated payment posted was in the notes section and this place has access to notes and needs to read them. I just tried calling the person from the office back who left a phone message indicating I needed to pay the balance for medical records to be released, however the phone system is set up to route callers to message boxes all hours of the day, which is concerning.

R Wiggy

This place is terrible. You go in for an appointment and they say if you need to reach a nurse call the hotline... yeah that never works. I always get sent to the voicemail. Won’t be going here again after this.

Emily MacQuaid MD, FACS

Very knowledgeable! Great practice!

Love that they took urgent appt. They saw my son that day for a possible hand infection. Staff was efficient and friendly. We only waited in room about 2 minutes before doctor saw us. He quickly diagnosed problems and established a plan to handle it. I appreciate it doctors clear explanations and treatment. Highly recommend!

I was sent a certified letter that I had to sign and pick up at the post office. This was a letter to scare you into making an appointment for a follow up! Driving to the post office and getting my walker out of my car only to wait in a long line to get a letter like this is unethical. No amount of kindness and care is worth this kind of marketing when we control our spending through limiting unnecessary appointments. I'm done!

Kimberly Hogan

I called and made and appt and wow i was so impressed Jennifer explained what i wud expect with copay and not covered items so knowlegeable professional and friendly and the appt access time was phenominal i had an appt in a week...cant wait to review actual appt..great job thus far

Dr. 90210-ish.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Was told I was not allowed back here because the insurance I switch to they didn't accept after they told me they did over the phone. Also wanted to charge me 100 bucks for a shot in my stomach. Way to treat a veteran

Elmira Mukailova

This is some fraudulent place, mostly interested in selling their services. If you are not interested, than your time is up. Spent 5 minutes with a nurse, 4.5 minutes she tried to sell me additional services. Spent a half minute on my face, pierced it is and left the room saying she took care of it.No cleansing, no unclogging pores. Came home, nothing changed. Later, they billed insurance agency $164 for ""surgery" which I had to finish at home myself. A dentist with an advanced education charges less. I would find somethingwith more honest charging policies. The problem is, the patient never sees beforehand what she would be charged for. After the bill is sent, you can not challenge it, "too late" this what they said on the phone, Vey well oiled system for making easy money.

Saw Jen and Melissa for a skin consult at the Bel Air location. Both are caring and professional. They really listen to your concerns and have expertise, sharing pros and cons of different treatment options. Never felt rushed like I have with other offices. The office staff is also very friendly. Keep up the good work!
