This place has the worst bedside manner ever, especially in the emergency room. I will never refer anyone to this hospital, ever!!

I had surgery on the 8th of May. The staff in the Ambulatory care unit were The Best of the Very Best and Extremely Professional and Attentive and need to be recognized and rewarded for their care and hard work. 5 star all the way I share this experience with many of the care i received. I was scaired and alone and the staff made me very comfortable and i am greatful. However I wish the staff in the Emergency Department was just as good.. Instead of what it looked like breaktime every 30 minutes That Department needs people just as good as ambulatory care.

Nursing Staff is Great! BUT doctors are not prepared for certain conditions. If you have an IBD condition that has the potential to have serious/fatal consequences if worsened, in the name of safety, get out of Biddeford and find an expert.

This place needs to be shut down. Really bad service everyone here was super rude. Didn't help me with anything had me waiting here forever. Acted like they were above me and better than me.

WORST HOSPITAL

I was here for 3 days for Gastric Sleeve surgery. My experience with the Preop nursing team was fantastic! Sophie was the best, truly caring and genuine. My surgery went well and my nurses in my room were all that was professional. Amanda, Bear, Casey and all the other folks I've forgotten, thank you. The hospital was clean, sanitary and I felt completely safe and secure.

Posting for a friend who came out crying because they lost paperwork that had sleep study results, a doctor signed off on, and she cannot get her license because of the paperwork they lost. So now she has to be billed to get another signature from her doctor do another sleep study, unacceptable.

i had never felt more discriminate in my life , i was trying to keep my situation privately and the nurse went to the waiting area screaming out our problem and cleaned the seats were we sat down and threw all the magazines we touched it was so sad for me and my family, they kept skipping us and letting other people see a doctor first than us i would never go back to that hospital in my life !!!!!

DO NOT GO - Seriously make that extra 20 minutes of a drive north or south you will be in and out faster! The fact I just had to call and remind your staff of a patient that was forgotten about for 6 hours is mind baffling. The lackadaisical behavior of your staff is sickening & the way I just heard your staff over the phone speak to a patient who is barely an adult waiting for a surgical procedure..??!! Did you all print your licenses over the internet? Where is the bedside manner? Where are the doctors? A little hospitality or empathy for those who seek you out when their in pain! How hard can that be? Why choose that profession if you're not going to help? Hmm!?

I am writing this letter because I am recovering from a broken right hip, misdiagnose from a fall I had on Thursday, September 7th.2017 by the emergency doctor Keith Rosenberg,MD. I fell coming out of Saco Sports & Fitness Club on September 7th. around 5 pm after leaving the fitness club & just sighing up to get back into the gym. Coming back to my van their was a rise in the parking lot between my van & another van. Was able to get up on my own- -but was in a lot of pain! After that I was barely able to drive home. When arriving home I was not able to get out of my own van. I called a friend, Pat S. I called 911, Old Orchard Beach emergency came & got me into her van. We went to Southern Maine Emergency, this was about 6pm. Pat went into emergency entrance to get a wheel chair & three medical personal to help me out off her van & into a wheel chair. I could not put any weight on my right leg without being in excruciating pain! Was wheeled into emergency. We had to wait for over an hour before seeing Dr.Keith Rosenberg. Pat wheeled me into my meeting with Dr. Rosenberg. He asked me how I hobbled into the emergency room? Pat said, she did not hobbled in, I brought her in the wheel chair. I told him I could not walk or put any weight on my right leg without excruciating pain! He ordered an x-ray of my knee only!! I was in so much in pain when I had to lie on the x-ray table for my knee ! Pat& I waited for hours, it seamed to hear the results from the x-ray. Dr.Rosenberg said my knee was not broken. I kept saying it was not my knee. I couldn't stand on my right leg. I was sent home that morning, which was around 2-2:30am Friday. The doctor sent me home with a walker , tylenol & ibuprofen. On Saturday I was not any better. Living by myself, I had a difficult time getting around my home. I could not even sleep in my own bed, I had to sleep in a chair. On Saturday, I called my doctor my doctor Karen Doehne of Falmouth. Talked with a doctor on call, told her what had happened & in so much pain. I told her I was not going back to Southern Maine.! She put in a prescription at Hannaford store Saco for tramadol. Pat picked up the prescription up for me. Took tramadol, but still in pain! This went on until the morning of Monday, September 11th, I was not any better! !! Pat came over to see how I was doing. She could see I was still in pain. She told me she was going to take me to Maine Medical Center in Portland. We went into Maine Medical center- --got several people to get me into a wheel chair from out of her van. Did not have to wait very long. They did an x-ray of my knee, right hip & my pelvic area. I was assigned to Dr. Gregery Blaisdell, an Orthopedic specialist. He told me & showed me the x-ray of my hip. The socket was completely gone. He scheduled me for a complete hip replacement surgery on the Tuesday September 12th. I got great care in Maine Medical center. Was transfered to Sealrock Rehab. in Saco.on Friday September 15th. Went through rehab.& was releasted on Wednesday September 27th. to go home. Had pt & ot, also at home. Had a follow up with my doctor, Karen Doehne on Friday, October 6th. Then a follow up with Dr. Blaisdell on Monday, October 23rd to have an x-ray. He said I was healing very good. I want to let Southern Maine medical center know what kind of terrible treatment I received from Dr.Keith Rosenberg, he didn't do his job as a doctor. I wrote this letter hoping that other patients would get better treatment then I did. Did not want others to go through what I did. It just goes to show you everyone must have an advocate with them in the hospital. God bless my friend for being with me & being my advocate. I know nothing may come of this, writing this letter ,but if I can help one person get better treatment, then so be it!!! Check out my information with my doctors, Karen Doehne of Falmouth & Dr. Blaisdell of Portland. Sincerely, Sylvia Orchard

There so slow there!!! I went worried about another atopic pregnancy and after 8 hours of being there to get two test done (blood work and a ultra sound) I had to continue to wait for a nurse to give me a Rogaine shot and release me. Then I watched the nurse drop the needle on the dirty floor pick it up and try to give it to me. (I think not!!) She's worried about giving me to much, because they gave her double what I should have. (ANOTHER MISTAKE) I'm worried about her bad addutude and the dirty needle she thought she'd give me and how she didn't even know where to give it to me.. Smh I'm set on ever going back there now I seen there nastiness and laziness and im good. Plus I found out a surgery I had there last year, was not done right and parts they said they removed are still there witch can cause more problems for me now. I wouldn't send my dog to them let alone any human!!!

Accountability For All

I am a Google guide so I want to preface this by saying I am always professional with reviews even if the are bad. However this time I will practice my professionalism in a lead by example process. Meaning They were unprofessional so all courtesy is left at the same door they kicked me out! I have a six year history of kidney stones. I don't have insurance so I can't get surgery. Most people have 1 or 2 in their life,I'm 29 and I have 26 in my left kidney and 12 in my right. I explained my long history in detail,it was obvious i wasn't making it up because I described in medical detail everything that had been done so far. U had a pain prescription currently with refills to manage the pain. It was so bad I could no longer work. This time I could not pass the stone. I actually collapsed in a store and was in so much pain k could only thrash around. Was driven to the er. I sat for 4 hours befire going to a room,no treatment at all. I finally took one of my prescribed pills as I was overdue on my dose and was in need anyways. Security came to me and tried to take my pills away,no explanation. I got upset ,they left. Finally i went to a room. I was seen in a different er 3 days prior so I actually had a discharge paper, with results from a cat scan and ultra sound saying I left with the same stones mentioned above doctor would give no medication. I went to take my own,I was told if i did I would be kicked out. My choice is now unbearable agony and whatever they have planned,or my medication for my chronic illness, comfort, but no idea what may happen to me. So I said ok but asked why I can not take it. I was told no meds until testing. This is understandable in most cases, but I'm obviously n it lying,I have a discharge from 3 days prior with 46 stones combined and I may have passed 2,they can call the other hospital to verify. Having stones is not a question at this point. He said "your not getting drugs until you give urine so we know you aren't an addict and send you for ultra sound " an addict? I'M A CLEAN CUT YOUNG MAN WITH VERY NICE CLOTHES, AND A ROLEX.(NOT THAT IT MATTERS,EVERYONE DESERVES THE SAME CARE) BUT OBVIOUSLY NOT AN ADDICT . I was told the paper didn't "look right". Now security is outside my door. I hear the dr say to the nurse "we got another junkie script shopping ". I am fuming. I was stabbed in the heart years earlier and died for several seconds, this is more painful. I suffer through it. I PASS OUT FROM PAIN. by the way this whole time o wasn't even given IV fluids. That's not drugs, that's salene. Every1 gets that,I need the fluid to move the stones. I pass out again from pain. I give up. I ask to leave against medical advice,I am beaten and hurt. I am sad, confused, disoriented from the pain. As I sign the against advice slip, a new dr comes in. She says "I am so sorry (a nurse is now putting some needle in my arm) she tells me I'm getting dilauded for pain and fluids. I am a proud man. I cry. I fall to my knees and cry.i was in so much pain. I was hours from home. Just out of a divorce (break up with kids involved),I'm on hour 13 in this we. This is the first time someone is treating me like a human being. It is also the first time I am receiving anything, no Motrin nothing at all,no fluids,NO WATER,NOTHING. I can't complain, I'm to hurt. They had to give me more just because if the severity. I had a 9mm calcium oxilate stone blocking ureter. Surgery is required for 5mm. I also had about 35 stones still in there between both kidneys still. That 1 large stone trapped all the others and stopped all flow. She was amazed I was not unconscious from the pain. The test backed up what I said. Because if the 14 hours I spent getting nothing I got a serious infection afterwards. I went to another er and was keot for 6 days. The infection was so bad I was septic, the infection was in my blood stream, temp of 95.3(hypothermic). This would not have happened if treated. Went in for normal stone. 14 hours later left with life threatening infection the reply"the opiate crisis is bad" healthcare system is worse!

I thought they had fast track now...well damn I ONLY need some stiches and been in waiting room for 2 and half hrs...thats what another 2 in the room whenever that may happen?? Ya this is why I don't even waste my time. It's ridiculous if they are here to help PEOPLE HELP THEM....GET YOU ACT TOGETHER. It's called team work.

I work in healthcare and this place has HIPAA violations left and right. I walked in with excruciating flank pain and told them that I thought I had a kidney stone. Since I have had them in the past, I know exactly what the pain feels like and where it's located. After waiting for three hours, they discharged me before even reading my x-rays and ultrasound results. My discharge paperwork stated "unspecified back pain." Unbelievable!! My $3000 ER bill has been going in the trash every month since my unfortunate visit; I refuse to pay for the "care" I received. You're better off driving to Portland and going to Mercy if you can. MaineHealth, thank you SO MUCH for your terrible patient care. An overall absolute jaw-dropping experience.

I have had the unfortunate pleasure of having to visit the ER twice in the past two months for different issues, one bleeding related the other potentially cardiac related. The nurses and doctors have been wonderful, caring professionals. It's an ER, I knew fully well going in it's a very busy triage situation but both times they were prompt and concerned. I wouldn't hesitate to use them anytime I have a need, hopefully not for a few more years. This isn't your mother's Webbers Hospital.

Awful! Was told would be 45 minutes for test results...took 2.5 hours to tell me they had no idea what was wrong.

Had to be admitted in the birthing suite overnight and had by far the best care. Rachel M. Was my nurse and I am so grateful for all she did that night. I highly recommend the birthing suite to any new mom. Rachel M. If you do see this I want you to know how grateful I am for everything. Thank you. Karlee Foss

I'm a nurse, and I'm picky. My family has needed the ER many times in the past 3 or 4 years. Twice this year. I find them to be compassionate and responsible. It's slow... always.... but you never know what else is going on. I do wish they would stop by and update you more often... telling me the lab was down after I've waited 2.5 hours for results would be more helpful when YOU knew it. But they get 5 stars because I trust them.

I have gone through almost 2 while pregnancies with them and They have been so great and helpful. They respect my natural birth ways and work hard to make sure I'm healthy. There health centers are amazing as well. They are quick to find out what's wrong. My son has a pediatrician dr as well from them and she's been so great. Never pushing more then needed and helping out a ton when I found out my son had ptosis were he needed surgery for it and referred me to the best Pediatrician eye dr. I've always been very happy with what they have done for my family. So I highly recommend them.

Very poor customer service. Four years in a row they messed up my blood work orders, even lied to me about them. So now I have changed provider. Now they are messing up my wife's orders with lab. They also didn't call in her prescription she asked for on Thursday.

I went into the Emergency room on the night of the 8th after reinjuring my knee from a previous injury I had playing football with some Veteran buddies in Portland, I was seen by a male Dr. Working that night who after examining my knee gave me a pain reliever in the Hospital. He clearly stated his thoughts were that I may have torn a ligament, or ACL and to follow up with Orthopaedic surgery immediately then proceeded to discharge me with instructions to take 800 mg Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I politely asked the Dr.to speak to him again because I've already been taking that and it wasn't helping, and he simply said im not writing you a prescription. The whole staff was actually rude that night. So I went back after getting no sleep, as the pain got worse was treated by another Female Dr. Who also realized I had a concussion (being a MTBI patient from a Combat related injury) she treated both my knee and head. Looked me up in the prescription database and saw I've only had one other pain prescription before and sent me home with some to get relief until Ortho saw me the next day. When I did go to Ortho the Dr. Ordered an MRI and said I was more than likely going to need surgery on a torn ligament. As far as my second visit goes the staff was courteous and caring to my injury, I just dont see how a MD can tell a patient he may have a tore ligament or ACL and say take Motrin that just doesn't seem like good practice to me whatsoever. I understand there is a pain pill problem here but patients who need it for extreme discomfort shouldn't suffer. Especially if they have no history of abuse. So to Dr.Gunyan, Holly who treated me on the 8th you get five stars it was a pleasure being a patient of yours! Now to DO Kurucz, John this 1 star rating is for you sir, I hope you read this and understand you are not the king of the world and treat future patients better.
