Fell on the ice injured my knee. Walked in was consulted, x-rays on my way in an hour. Dr. Lee and staff outstanding. Thank you for all you have done for me.

I have been going to OA for several years for care of the osteoarthritis in my knee and several other sports injuries. I have had three surgeries in the past year on my right knee. The last surgery was a total knee replacement with Dr. Gomberg. I am thrilled with the majority of the staff and doctors at this practice but was highly disturbed when I ran out of pain meds on a Sunday. Although I had called on Friday to let them know I would run out, nobody ever gave that message to the right person and I ran out of meds anyways. So I called the on-call and was answered by an extremely rude “gentleman” who told me I had gone through my medication too quickly (although I took it according to the minimum dose on the bottle) and furthermore, it was “inappropriate to prescribe more pain meds at two weeks post-op from a knee replacement “. This statement made me want to give him a knee replacement without anesthesia. This is by far the most painful experience I have ever endured, and to have a “doctor” tell me I was being inappropriate when in fact I was in severe pain means this practice lacks in quality patient care. I spent a miserable 24 hours without pain medication before I finally got to Monday, called again and spoke to MY physicians team, and got a prescription called in with numerous apologies attached. I don’t want the apologies. They mean nothing to me without the change. Change the way you talk to and take care of your patients. Thank you.

I saw Dr Hoffman and Joel. Both were incredible. Went above and beyond for me and my needs with having knee surgery. The staff is just as amazing. Before surgery while being prepped everyone was so caring and told me every little detail that was going to happen. After surgery as soon as I opened 1 eye they immediately called my husband to tell him I was awake. Dr Hoffman then came and saw me and told everything. I'm very very pleased with OA!!! Highly recommend

I have only scheduled two appointments with them, and they've somehow managed to screw up both. The first appointment was for an evaluation of the upper back pain I've had for the past five years. I'd done physical therapy and chiropractic care to try to resolve it, but hadn't had much luck. I brought in my xrays, did the paperwork, and was very happy to see that I got into an exam room right at my scheduled time. That was the last good interaction I had there. I proceeded to wait in the exam room for an HOUR before the doctor actually came in. The evaluation was short, and he decided I needed another x-ray (they wanted digital ones. Whatever). I had already informed him I'd gone through PT before, but it hadn't helped much, but he decided the best course of action was to... send me back to PT. I already didn't like that I waited an hour, but then he decided to just... disregard something I had already told him hadn't worked. I was so angry when I left, but decided to do the PT anyway just for the satisfaction of telling him just how much it didn't help when I came in for the follow up they'd scheduled me for. I got an appointment card for that follow up appointment, stuck the card on the fridge, and made sure to get the time off work. I get to the appointment, on the date written on the card, for the time written on the card... only to be informed that my appointment had been rescheduled. They did not call me to reschedule it on a day that I could come in - they just chose a day that *they* wanted and sent me a letter to tell me when it was. That's ABSOLUTELY not acceptable - we have four people on staff that day and since when is it appropriate for a doctor to tell you what day is going to work for you? It isn't. I tried to get them to just cancel it, but they insisted on scheduling me a new follow up appointment. They "couldn't" find a time after I get out of work, so I let them schedule it whatever time they want, because apparently that's what they do there. I'm cancelling the appointment, and will be going elsewhere for some actual help. They quite literally wasted an entire month of my time, doing something I KNEW wasn't going to work, when I could've gotten actual help to resolve back pain I've had for five years. Don't bother with this office. They are unorganized, unprofessional, and honestly, every person I had an interaction with there, aside from the doctor himself, was incredibly rude.

Absolutely terrible, really the pits.... Went to their urgent care for an injured Achilles tendon, and the supervising doctor would not see me. The doctor's assistant insisted that surgery was the proper course of action, despite the fact that I am over 50 (closer to 60!) They really push for costly tests too, I believe because they operate a costly MRI center. Could not get them to agree to put it in a cast.

(And they now have at least one other place in Brunswick! Maybe others) ***I love them! They spent over a year taking care of me, then many months designing two very customized titanium- cobalt hips that my Drs put in at Me Med Center, both in 2001, when I was 40 and a single mom of a 3 yr old, and thanks to them a life filled with ortho pains disappeared! They gave me new life, one without pain that I never imagined would happen. Thank you! (I am overdue for a checkup. Time to call)

Professional, well educated and considerate. I felt confident in the hands of this group and would go back if I still lived in Maine. I have spent a life time in Hospitals after a severe car accident as a child. One gets a second sense about health providers after 50 years of constant medical care. Trust these guys.

Don't use DR. Gomberg.. RUN as fast and as far as you can. Had both knees partial replacement, one in Oct of 2017 & the other in November of 2017. In December of 2017 had to have another surgery to remove glue that was left behind. Then both failed and had to have total replacements, (By a better surgeon and place) One in August and the other in October of 2018, 4 knee replacements in 11 months 5 surgerys. Then I did some research on partials and there not even tested for someone my weight. To top it all off I'm paying all the medical bills. Please use anyone else.. I would have rather seen DR. Kevorkian.

The staff and Service is second to none .dr Marjoua is incredible I will recommend her to anyone that has the same issues I hade .had surgery On 3/18/19 she did such a good job that I didn’t have to take any medicine for pain .great job !!!

Sorry to write of my complete dissatisfaction with care. Found Dr. Robbins lacking in empathy and my concerns and degree of pain ignored. He actually made procedure promises which he neglected to inform his staff about and no one followed through with. Fortunately, at the request of family, I went for a second opinion at Maine Spine Surgery (Dr. Wahlig/Mercy Hospital) who had me in surgery within 48 hrs. I am nerve pain free and glad that I did not put up with OA. Would not imply that all physicians at OA are incompetent but, stay away from Dr. Robbins, his PA and office staff.

Michael Schildroth

Very unorganized and don't trust them. My first experience with them, I met with a very well put together PA. In my opinion, the PA assumed that I had no medical knowledge ( my wife is a nurse ), and proceed to try to run me though every business segment on their Sewell St. Campus to inflate the cost to my insurance company. The path that the PA was trying to send me down was physical therapy for a "broken" ankle, but before PT, I should have an MRI conveniently offered by OA. The MRI made sense... I arrived back to OA for the MRI, and was told that before I had the MRI, I needed a facial XRay..., also conveniently offered by OA.... That was the final straw, and I left still in pain, and still with no hope of a solution. I returned to my primary care office, had the MRI completed, and then spoke with thier (Intermed) Sports Medicine Department ( I highly recommend Dr. Wagner ). I was advised that the best Surgon was Dr. Durk Asherman - who worked at...., you guessed it.... OA. I had an appointment confirmed through the office with Dr. Asherman, and upon arriving 10 minutes early, I was told that Dr Asherman was practing at another office today... If I wanted, I could go there.... The office was 30 minutes away.... All the while I have lost time at work, multiple days, and 5 months of time patiently waiting for relief that seems to be nowhere on the horizon with OA involved... This outfit oozes incompetence, deceit, and fails to value their client's time..... Good luck if you are in need of services from this "$hithole"......

Great experience meeting the staff and the surgery went perfectly. Truly “a well oiled machine”

Simply put, the best.

I recently was treated by Dr. Asherman and Dr. Robbins. Excellent experience!

Summer Fun

Very poor experienced. Had my shoulder operated on by Dr. Murray. Pain worsened and all Dr. Murray could say, “well, I’m sorry”. 3 post op visits and no better. OA refuses to assign me a new doctor. Avoid Murray at all costs. It’s too bad as OA employees are very nice. Had my achilles repaired by OA and the Doc who did that procedure was awesome and truly cared. I am filing a complaint with the state.

I had a great experience here and would recommend to anyone looking for physical therapy! I love the open concept that the office has- makes it feel like a real community which always helps when recovering! My physical therapist was awesome and I would recommend her to anyone looking!

I'm researching for my uncle, and though my last procedure (yr apart from other knee) torn meniscus, and dislocated shoulder, have been 5-10 yrs ago, I can report no arthritis in my knees, and shoulder is completely mobile and strong, all pain free. My son had a broken thumb and torn biceps tendon surgically managed. All experiences and encounters with staff were timely, efficient and incredibly professional. Sorry to read Dr. Brown retired. My knees thank you.

The care i recived there was above and beyond! The OR nurses took exceptional care of me. Can't say enough good things about the Dr. And the staff. ( Dr. Matthews )

Bobbie Ingraham

Horrible experience by Dr. and staff! Wasted tons of $ and got nowhere. Dr. not concerned, saying he couldn't leave a voicemail on my phone as my box was full...untrue! I had my phone hooked to my hip for the day he said he would call about my progress with the block injection...he never called. Staff complaining they were short staffed and sent me to 3 different people to check on the status of an appt. Promised by one woman that she would call by the end of that day...never did! I am not a patient at this healthcare establishment and would not recommend them to anyone.

I had an appointment at the OA Portland office for the first time yesterday for a ski injury. Check in was fast and the front desk staff was very friendly! Dr. Lee was wonderful and very knowledgeable! I would see her again and would recommend!

Bob Allen

This medical group is one of the best if not the best in the state.

The care I have received over the years has been exceptional. Dr. Matthews is amazing, wonderful bedside manner, all the nurses and staff are also wonderful, I just want to thank You All for taking such good care of me.

The staff is great. But the Surgeon was super cocky and lacking in bedside manner. 5 minutes to discuss issues after surgery is not adequate and being dismissed for having pain daily for 6 months after surgery is super discouraging.
