Pure Dermatology is fantastic. From the minute you walk in to the moment you leave. The staff and support you get is top of the line. Dr. Mara Haseltine has been amazing, willing to listen and help in anyway she can. I have been there twice and the medical team is amazing. Everyone always has a smile on their face. Kate Holcomb has been working with me for several years now, and I am a fair skinned older man with lots of pre-cancers/AK's. She has removed those she can by freezing or use of appropriate creams, and has referred me for Laser removal treatments and, if necessary, MOHS surgery for removal of actual cancers as well. Dr. Holcomb is absolutely amazing!!! She truly is the best dermatologist in the greater New Orleans area. Most doctors rush through appointments and treat the patient experience as a revolving door “get ‘em in, get ‘em out”. Not Dr. Holcomb, she honestly cares about her patients and takes her time addressing all your concerns. From personal experience, many cosmetic dermatologists push too many procedures or too much Botox. They leave you looking like a plastic Kardashian without facial expressions. I have never felt that way about Dr. Holcomb, she gives it to you straight and only recommends what you need. Dr. Holcomb helps you look natural and as the best possible version of yourself. At first I visited for cosmetic reasons, however Dr. Holcomb treats all dermatologic conditions. She checks me from my toes to the top of my head. Once she found a precancerous spot on my nose and took care of it with a blast of liquid nitrogen. When it comes to all matters of my skincare I completely trust her judgement. I highly recommend Dr. Holcomb for the highest quality of care. Her office staff is also amazing. Thank you, Dr. Holcomb

Dr Holcomb goes above and beyond to care for her patients. I’m still in awe of my experience with her during Hurricane Barry. If you can imagine, the night before the storm is supposed to make landfall, I find several lesions on my 11 yr old. I panic because everything is closed! I attempt to contact her via the patient portal but can’t find my password. Luckily, I find an old email from her office and respond asking for an on call physician and HELP!! I thought at best I could take her to urgent care the next day but to my surprise I got a reply. Not just any reply, a response from Dr Holcomb HERSELF! Just having your doctor respond, while she’s caring for her family during a storm, speaks volumes of the importance of patient care to her. She ruled out several things by picture and told me how to care for my little one until the storm blew over. On Sunday, yes the weekend, she checked her schedule and told me there was a small opening where she could squeeze us in. I breathed a very heavy sigh of relief and my daughter is fine. I still think of her kindness and willingness to help us during an emergency weather event. Sometimes doctors do their jobs but in Dr Holcomb’s case, she actually takes care of her patients and their freaked out mothers. My 11 yr old loves her office and said she’s a “cool” doctor. I can’t thank her enough and I’m so grateful for the years of care and generosity she’s shown. If your looking for an excellent doctor who provides excellent care, you’ve found both in Dr. Holcomb.

Dr. Holcomb has been my dermatologist for a while now and provided me with wonderful care! She's always been sensitive to my skin concerns and gave me several options between topicals, oral medications, and laser treatments to help with my skin (acne and redness, for the most part). She carefully explained everything to me, so I never felt like I didn't know what I was doing to my skin. I can't recommend her enough!

Love, love, love Pure Dermatology! I can't say enough about Dr Holcomb and her NP Cherie. They are treating an issue I've had for a long time and I'm finally seeing improvement! They took my concerns and preferences into consideration and made a treatment plan that's working for me. My 6 year old sees Dr Haseltine and she's great with kids- so patient and compassionate. The office staff is always friendly and upbeat. I've been in a lot of local derm offices where the staff acts like they're doing you a favor by being there but certainly not this group! I'm so glad I finally found a practice that feels like a good fit.
