Lived in this location for a year. My doctor here wouldn’t prescribe yearly birth control, only 6 months supply, so I had to pay out of pocket for twice a year visits compared to my insurance paying for my 1 time yearly. I wasn’t ever notified that I had an outstanding balance. I walked out of my appointments being told,”you don’t owe anything.” I was never sent emails, letters, or phone calls about any bills until I changed my address. They were sending my bills to my insurance address (parents) (I’m 22) instead of the address I gave them on file. Now I’ve been told my account is past due. Then I was told my account wouldn’t be sent into collections as long as I made payments, which I did (bi-weekly). After this lie, my account was sent into collections anyway. Awesome. This would’ve never happened if I had been properly contacted.

Be prepared to wait! There’s nothing more fun than sitting in a waiting room for long periods of time with screaming kids!

I saw Dr Black and he explained everything well and took his time. He no longer does surgery, so he referred me to a Dr that does. She was the exact opposite! At my preop, surgery, hospital stay, and post op. She was rushed I didnt really get any answers. Everyone in office was a bit rude and i never felt comfortable especially asking questions. Call the office and sit on hold with a ur call will be answered in the order it was recieved for 10 minutes, then ringing for 40 minutes before I give up. I certainly would NOT recommend them.

Had my first child here and my two doctors Dr maybry and Dr Ashford were but amazing, with my second child I am seeing Dr Rhynelods and she seems very knowledgeable and caring towards both my baby and I. This doctor office truly is amazing!

Penny Palermo

Very poor bedside manner and hostile, judgemental environment for young, unwed mothers

Seeing Dr. Hodge for my first pregnancy. She is a very nice lady but does NOT seemed concerned about me or my baby. Every time I go see her she’s in such a rush she never remembers to tell me everything. And it’s hard to ask questions and have conversations about my concerns and such. It’s really annoying not having a good relationship with your on. Took my 1 hour glucose test and had to wait over a month to get my results back because they “couldn’t find my test results”. They kept asking me “Are you sure you did the test?” Like excuse me but why isn’t that info in the computer documented what all I’ve had done so far. Also I need to have a blood infusion and she waited 3 weeks to let me know this due to her “forgetting” to tell me the last time I was in her office. And now that she has informed me that I need this infusion that she is supposed to set up for the following week, she hasn’t set up anything or called me back with an update on it. Today I was experiencing bad abdominal and back cramping and called her to see if it was normal or if I should go in to the hospital to get me and baby checked out. Called at 1pm, waited till until 4:45 to hear from her and nothing.. I called them and said hey I know that you’re closing soon but I need to speak to my doctor due to concerns I’m experiencing. They said she’ll call me back with in the next few minutes and it’s now 6:00pm and I haven’t heard a word. You’d think of you had a patient that’s 32 weeks pregnant call and say they’re having bad cramping issues that she’d care enough to call and see what’s going on with me and my baby. I guess not. You can’t pay me enough to come back here... I suggest a midwife I’ve heard good things about them. Also Dr. Mabry is a good one. I wouldn’t suggest Dr. Hodge honestly

I just wanted to add a review about Dr. Black. I have been going to him since I was about 15 years old, now 21. He was always so kind and light-hearted. I loved working with him. He was the first OBGYN that made me feel comfortable and I really appreciated his work. I'm sad to have moved and no longer can see him, but he set the bar high for expectations. I wish him the best!!

Called to make a routine appointment and was able to get in the next day. Response time on call was great & professional was excellent! I have been a patient for over 30 years and love the staff & physicians that have cared for me.

I have had horrible periods since having a tubal several years back. After going through multiple doctors and clinics I threw in the towel and decided there was no point in looking for help if the doctors refuse to believe you. I learned to cope. On 10/9/18 I had an appointment with Dr. Black for spotting and pain during/after intercourse. During the exam he informed me that i had visible prolapse and the my cervix began bleeding when he swabbed it with the pap q tip. Both issues were new symptoms. He said that I may be a candidate for surgery and set an appointment with a surgen a week later. On 10/16/18 I saw Dr. Mabre. I had began my time the night before and was beyond exhausted when I arrived for my appointment. I requested a prescription “diclophinac?” It’s my preferred method of dealing with menstral issues. I was told she needed to do labs and that I should come back in 2 weeks when ALL my results where in. She did not do a pelvic exam. Anyway, I return on 10/30/18 and was told that my blood work had come back abnormal and asked if autoimmune diseases run in my family...Ummm, yeah! Lupus. I don’t remember much else other than making sure that after I went to the blood doctor and they said it was fine I would still be able to have something done to alleviate my symptoms. I left without being told anything about my abnormal pap results. Or any in the mean time advice. What the time line would be ect.... the office was going to send out 2 referrals that day, one to a blood doctor, the other a urologist. I waited until the following week to call and check up on the referrals only to be informed that neither doctor had received one. It took two days of calling and leaving messages before the referral had been sent to the blood doctor only to find out it was the wrong type! Finally, I got fed up and called a hemo I knew because #lupusrunsinmyfam. I got the needed info and sent it through the message system to the gyn office. They still took until the 11/9/18 to send it out. In the mean time I am cramping and having muscle spasms in my lower abdomen that feel like I am being stabbed. Bleeding with sex and cramping after continued to get worse. I have taken all my diclophanac? I am kinda freaked out by my symptoms and how little I understand what is going on.... I decide to call the office and speak to a nurse. The nurse i guess was not in the mood for my questions and said it would be easier to schedule an appointment. So I did for later that day. On 10/14/18 at 3pm I went in. I was told to undress from the waist down and Dr. Beacham would be with me soon. At this point I am feeling silly. The cramping and bleeding had stopped after taking half a pill I had stashed for bad periods. But i still wanted to make sure sex was safe, ask about the pap, get more anti inflammatory, ask if there was anything that could be done while we wait for the appointments with the other two specialists. In walks Doc. “So after Doctors ashford, black and Mabry what exactly is it you want me to say?” (I saw dr ashford in 2015, for my bad periods he did a pap, blood work and ultrasound and nothing showed so nothing could be wrong) this doctor proceeds to tell me that there was no need for me to be in his office because they do refills over the phone...That I have been saying I have pain for a long time and there hasn’t been anything to support that. Insinuating That I am making up my pain, that I am confused about what causes it. I was so angry, confused and naked! I barely managed to hold in my tears until he left the room. And as he walked-out he said “so besides your pain pills, is there anything you actually need?” To be told it’s all In My head, yeah, I am clearly imagining my cramps, bleeding cervix, abnormal blood work, and abnormal pap results. Oh wait, I must be a drug addict. Those anti inflammatories are the new thing! Find a doctor with compassion, this clinic is judgmental and inept. And im still waiting for the urology referral 2 weeks later.....

Not very impressed with the OBGYN staff. I miss Dr. Black so much, he could never be replaced. A very caring Dr. I wish he would come out of retirement and work part-time, very different than the young and new group of doctors.

These people definitely keep you on hold. Speaking to a real person is impossible. I'll try somebody else. Just FYI, it's August 10, 2016 at 8:40am. Your recording says you are open at 8am Monday - Friday. Really? Also, you might want to change the Fourth of July recording! LOL Not feeling too confident about your attention to detail North Oaks OB/Gyn!

They can’t seem to answer the phone at all. Have been on hold forever and all I need is a proof of pregnancy.

Friendly staff but not there's not such great attention to detail here and be prepared to wait 1-2 or hours to see someone or possibly more. I think the drs are really overworked and are always rushing, they forget important things. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're pregnant or having any gynecological issues. It's an ok place if you're just looking to get regular pap smears though.

GI Jones

This place is absolutely terrible. They need to be put under investigation. They have completely unethical practices. What you see the other reviewers saying about their indifference is true, it is essentially a hustle. They schedule as many appointments as possible to maximize their profits, but don't care about their patients. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. They are the rudest most unprofessional clinic I have ever seen. How can a place of healthcare have a 2.1 rating and not be reprimanded.

Drag Racer

I went to see Dr. Jaime Edwards and she seems to not care about her patients. She's in a rush, does not listen to your concerns and brushes then off, doesn't fully listen to questions before rushing to answer. She was 25 minutes late and the appointment lasted less than 2 minutes. I had a concern about a cyst that I passed and she was just concerned about refilling my birth control and getting me out. To top it all off, she acted like I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about. Never going back to see her again, maybe another doctor here, but not her.

Jelisa Hayes

I really hate this place. I avoid it as much as possible but you do notice how they discriminate between private insurance patients and Medicaid insurance patients. I’ve had a few pregnancy scares and unbalanced hormones and if I call and say that I’ve got a positive pregnancy test. They get mad with you like it’s an issue to come back again. I feel like this if I come in there a hundred times for the same issue it shouldn’t matter and I don’t want to be treated unfairly. One doctor told me I needed a hysterectomy after finding out I had a fibroid tumor on my uterus and to try to conceive quickly as possible so they could take my uterus out after I gave birth. Now every other doctor says differently? Their communication as a unit sucks. The only doctor I like is dr ashford and dr black is okay too.

I love Mrs Diane, she is always so helpful and patient. Especially since I have to bring my 2 year old to my appts with me. And I really hope she is the one that delivers my daughter this go round. I have met most of the obs and they have all been great. Except one. I went to L&D a week ago. And I end up having the stomach flu. I was 28 weeks. And very dehydrated. And I had to bring my son with me. The doctor I seen was very rude. Practically yelled at me for bringing me and my son there while having the flu. Told me her pregnant pacients didn’t need to be sick. When I am one of her pregnant pacients as well. While the nurse was putting my iv in for fluids my son opened the door and walked out the room. The doctor then came and told me if I didn’t get someone to come get him or “keep him under control” she would discharge me without evaluating me. I was pretty upset. I was so sick. Dehydrated. My husband was on his way to get my son. And she was VERY rude. She also end up discharging me without finish even a quarter of the bag of fluids. Nor test me for the flu. I went home even worst. End up throwing up so much i started throwing up stomach acid and bile and fainting. And small blood clots. Which I called them about and they said “I was fine”. Not to mention while I was there I was having small contractions on the monitor. And I am at risk for preterm labor. But they didn’t seem to care and sent me home with tamiflu and zofran. Sent my medicines to two different pharmacy. One which wasn’t even opened. I almost want to switch doctors now. Oh. The doctors name was Ranaildo. I really hope when I go into labor she isn’t working that day or night.

I would not recommend taking a special needs child here.

I been going here for years Dr Bechum is an amazing Dr he delivered my youngest baby he might no be an ob Dr anymore be he is also amazing gyn he took his time with me and explained everything that he was doing every single detail I will continue to use him as my Dr.

I absolutely love this place I have the most amazing doctor dr. Rinaldo she is so awesome caring and blunt but in a great way I've actually moved an hour away from Hammond but I still continue to drive all the way to North Oaks just to see dr. Rinaldo I couldn't be more thankful and blessed to have met such a wonderful doctor I definitely recommend her and the staff receptionist nurses are all amazing

As a first time mom I was very unpleased with this place. I had Dr.Rinaldo and she was so rude! She acted as if I was an interruption to her day. Not only was she not helpful with any of the questions I had, but i had staff that she sent for testing and never addressed. I had to go to another Dr. to get it lanced and antibiotics. I waited a whole month and decided to find a new OBGYN because she still has yet to even send in antibiotics or much less a phone call. If your a first time mom with no idea of what to expect DO NOT come here.

Paw Ink Studio

I have been coming here since 2007 and have never had a bad experience. Ran into a few staff here and there that could use some patience and manners but that's anywhere. Sometimes the visit is quick anf sometimes it's a bit of a wait, but again, can be expected anywhere. These are great nurses and doctors who have always cared for me and helped me with both pregnancies and births. I will always recommend North Oaks and will continue to be seen here.
