Won't lie at first I was kind of iffy and did not wanna come back here due to a few hurtful words. But in the long run dr. Von Almen has been one of the best doctors! It's only been one month or two an he has found more answers with my endo and done more investigation than doctors I've been seeing for years! I'm glad I found him and would recommend him to anyone. I also would like to add how he personally calls you to go over procedures and results and answers any of your questions. He personally responds on the portal as well. I've never had a doctor take the time to call me 3 times in one day just to make sure I was fully aware an prepared for my first surgery. His customer service is beyond amazing and I appreciate it all!

Dr Von Almen has been my physician since 1990. He assisted with my surgery back then and I switched doctors at that time. I have been with him ever since. He has helped me so much in all those years. I have since sent my sister, my niece and my best friend to him. We are all totally satisfied. He is always cheerful, very knowledgeable and always ready to help. I hope he keeps his practice as long as Dr Farris did...lol...Farris was my very first dr in 1976 till 1991....see you soon doc, that time of year!

This review is not for Dr. Von Almen, it is for his office staff (namely Ashley) at the MacArthur location. Always do your own insurance verifications for procedures/IUDs/meds because they do not do them correctly. I showed up for my IUD replacement appointment early today. When I made the appointment I told them that they did the insurance claim wrong the first time and exactly how to do it this time. They still did it incorrectly and I had to call the insurance company for them and got it completed without difficulty. By the time I had finished their work, they told me my appointment was passed and I had to reschedule AGAIN. I have chosen to not work with them anymore and will find a physician with a more receptive/supportive team.

I am from NYC and as such, I have had the best doctors in the world. It's pretty common for people to fly to NYC because it's known to have the best doctors. That being the case, I am very picky and do a lot of research before I trust a doctor outside of NYC. I was suffering terribly from a condition that no doctor could solve without doing major invasive surgery, which I did not want to have. No doctor in NYC, L.A., Miami, and New Orleans. Until I met Dr. Von Almen. I went to him as soon as got off of the plane from seeing my doctor in NYC, who once again couldn't help me. I just walked into his office and begged the nurse to ask if I could see him same day, that's how dire my condition was. He, being the loving, kind, amazing human that he is, said yes. And he took one look at my bloodwork (that I came in with) and within 2 seconds, (no exaggeration) he told me that he knew why I was still having the problems I was having and told me he could fix it without major invasive surgery, just a minor surgical procedure. That's right. And that's what he did. Dr. Von Almen is simply the best gynecologist out there, anywhere. He takes the time to really think and not just give a standard, simple answer. He takes the patient into consideration and what their wants and needs are. He is so intelligent, kind, caring. I love him. And when I move from NOLA, it's highly likely that I will fly in just to see him. That's how good he is.

He is one of the greatest physicians I have ever been to . He cares about you as a person needing his expert care. He is kind and cheerful. I do not feel like a number when I check in with the desk person. DOCTOR VON ALMEN IS THE GREATEST HE IS KNOWLEDGEABLE I TRUST HIS RECOMMENDATIONS. His knowledge and expertise about all issues concerning women's gynecological health are exceptional.
