I will never be able to express the gratitude I have for Disc of Louisiana and Dr. Samir Shamieh. He has truly improved my quality of life and changed my life in a drastic way. On August 20, 2018 he performed my spinal fusion surgery. I am still recovering, but am doing so with gratitude and optimism. It took me 18 years of hearing that I needed surgery, seeing World renowned surgeons, living in excruciating pain and never feeling a connection or full trust in any of the surgeons- until I met Dr. Shamieh. I scheduled surgery on the same day as my consultation, that is how much I believed in him and how confident I was that he was the man for the job. I have to say that was one of the best decisions of my life. It was just an added bonus to have been his first ever robotic assisted spinal surgery. There's not a chance I would have agreed to that with anyone else in control of the Globus robot. Recovery is not fun nor is it easy, but it is well worth it. The day after surgery the nerve pain shooting down both of my legs that had become debilitating over the years and what lead me to Dr. Shamieh was gone. It is still gone. That alone was worth it. The back pain I have now is a healing pain, not the pain I had before. I have some hardware my body is adjusting to and a long road still ahead of me, but each day is an improvement and for that I am forever grateful.

DISC is truly an outstanding medical facility. The doctors are attentive, but most of all they keep their word. The staff at AVALA are also outstanding. One nurse, by the name of Julie was super. Very knowledgeable coupled with hummer is a great combination. She should get an at a boy! Literal, "Head to Toe Pain", GONE ! I, was told, by at least Eight, Orthopedic Surgeons, over the DECADES, "We do not believe, that you would benefit, from surgical intervention, at this time..." !?! I took this to mean : It's a "coin toss", surgery could make it WORSE ! Right now, you can walk, and hold a job, (if the employer doesn't have a problem with the TON of Narcotic Analgesics , you take 24/7!?!), just WAIT, 'til the DRUGS STOP WORKING and you CAN'T WORK, anymore, and you have "NOTHING TO LOSE" ! They did, I was... So' Three MORE, Ortho-surgeons, & two more Pain RELIEF Specialists, in three States later... Disc of Louisiana's Dr. Jeremy James, DID, in two Operations, what NO ONE, since December of 1976, would even attempt ! It wasn't fun, and wasn't instantaneous, and came with some UNEXPECTED, RESULTS ! But compared, to 40+ YEARS, of HELL ! For me, it was, Miraculous ! I can't GUARANTEE, (no one can), that YOU, will have the same results, but I do feel, that Dr. James TRIED, (and succeeded), for me, when so many, refused ! I believe you CAN TRUST HIM, to provide you with an honest and competent evaluation. He will help you, or explain why he cannot, and refer you to someone he feels might. The choice is yours, there are plenty of so called "Medical Professionals", who will "cut" you, for the money. They don't really care if they succeed or not, and don't want tough jobs. Dr. James rallied his skills and ability, and succeeded. He is not a Magician, he IS, a competent, accomplished Physician, and Orthopedic Surgeon, Specialist .

Had 2 herniated disc L4,L5,S1 . I could not get out of bed for days I was in so much pain. Searched around internet and after calling around Dr. Shamieh at Disc of Louisiana could see me in the shortest time. Had the surgery within a couple of weeks and was immediately relieved from my pain. It took a few months to heal up completely after surgery and going to physical therapy afterwards for a few months. My lower back has just a slight stiffness feeling now 5 months after surgery have just a slight stiffness feeling in lower back but have no pain and living my life normal again. Just follow Dr. And physical therapy directions and all should be good. Thanks to Disc and Dr Shamieh.

To Dr James, You are a 5 star doctor. You came highly recommended, and yet still exceeded my expectations in a dr especially during my time of pain. To the DISC office staff, I have never been treated more rudely, never had to call/email/fax so many times to an office to get paperwork and bills corrected and treated like I was always in the wrong automatically. In my brief treatment period with DISC, I have multiple specific complaints. Due to how I was treated by the staff, not Dr James or his nurses. I will no longer be receiving treatment from DISC.

The doctor is great. However, it was a pain to receive paperwork I needed for my employer. I requested it prior to my surgery and they acted as if they knew nothing about it. It took two weeks to receive paperwork to go back to work. It was signed and never sent.

If you value time, DO NOT GO HERE! Not only was my appointment rescheduled 3 times by this office, but I also waited 1.5 hours past my appointment time to only spend less than 10 minutes with the doctor. After that hour and a half, I finally stepped outside the room to ask how much longer and by the looks on their faces I was clearly forgotten about. Additionally, I never got an apology for the oversight and felt rushed out of the office. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate! As someone who works in the healthcare industry myself, I am completely baffled by this situation and how it was handled (no acknowledgement at all). If you value your time, don’t even bother contacting this office.

I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis in August 2018. I went to see Dr. Shamieh in September and we scheduled surgery for October 9th, 2018. I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. Although I was nervous about the surgery, I was also excited about hopefully being pain free after surgery. The surgery went as planned and I had immediate relief. The staff at Disc of Louisiana and at Cypress Point Hospital were phenomenal! After only 3 weeks I was released for light duty to go back to work. I am 99.9% pain free today. This was my third back surgery and I would recommend Dr. James to anyone and everyone that is having back pain. Also his staff is awesome,which also is a plus.Thank You for everything!!! The doctor is great. However, it was a pain to receive paperwork I needed for my employer. I requested it prior to my surgery and they acted as if they knew nothing about it. It took two weeks to receive paperwork to go back to work. It was signed and never sent.

If you value time, DO NOT GO HERE! Not only was my appointment rescheduled 3 times by this office, but I also waited 1.5 hours past my appointment time to only spend less than 10 minutes with the doctor. After that hour and a half, I finally stepped outside the room to ask how much longer and by the looks on their faces I was clearly forgotten about. Additionally, I never got an apology for the oversight and felt rushed out of the office. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate! As someone who works in the healthcare industry myself, I am completely baffled by this situation and how it was handled (no acknowledgement at all). If you value your time, don’t even bother contacting this office.

I was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis in August 2018. I went to see Dr. Shamieh in September and we scheduled surgery for October 9th, 2018. I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. Although I was nervous about the surgery, I was also excited about hopefully being pain free after surgery. The surgery went as planned and I had immediate relief. The staff at Disc of Louisiana and at Cypress Point Hospital were phenomenal! After only 3 weeks I was released for light duty to go back to work. I am 99.9% pain free today. I can’t thank you all enough for your kindness and understanding. Great Job! I would recommend Dr. Shamieh, his PA’s and the staff to anyone looking relief from back pain.
