My daughter had an open wound and we took her to the UK ER. The staff was quite friendly and hence the 1 star. However, the med student came in with the numbing injections and started giving 6 of those on my daughters foot. She screamed in pain every time. The resident or the doctor did not know about this when they came in. Come to find out the area was not numbed properly based in the residents and med students discussion. They poked her 4 more tunes and she still screamed on every stitch. The doctor did not show up at all until my husband saw her and called her to talk about it. She apologized for the whole incident but the damage was done. We asked about the medication that was given to my daughter and the med student did not know what it was. Overall all of us left crying from there. I would not recommend going here specially with your little one where unsupervised med students learns on yours kids. Will not go again to this ER in the city.

So thankful for the doctors and nurses, my daughter suffered for almost 2 weeks. We had seen 3 other ER's and will never take my kids anywhere else again. Thy worked until my daughter was pain free and they knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. Amazing at their job and the care and concern is unmatched by any hospital around.

Get back fast. But I'm always in the hallway with my with asthma as people cough and spread more germs walking by. Doctor does good job but I feel like I'm exposed to more sickness in the hallway

Pretty Disappointed

My oldest child had been to UK’s pediatric ER twice before and I’ve never been as disappointed as I was yesterday. My child has RSV, he is struggling to breathe. They suctioned him several times but he was still wheezing. When they went to send us home my 3 month old threw up every where on the ER bed. Every time he throws up he struggles really hard. The nurse watched him do this. They asked if we felt comfortable to go home. I told her I did not because he is not breathing normal and he just threw up like I felt like what they were doing was not helping. They said “well really he’s fine, just go home and if he turns blue or anything then come back.” I explained that I lived almost 2 hours away. Waiting until then i was afraid we may not make it back in time. We took him to that hospital because we believed they would help him because we thought they were the best around. They still sent us home. So today we have had to take our son to another hospital hoping they can help. We had to pay the copay at UK while we were there and now we have to cough up another $250 for the hospital we’re currently at that is telling us they can’t help us that we need to go to UK. Like UK could have prevented all of this just by listening to me.
