The staff at this location have been nothing but helpful each time I've had to visit a medical office here. Highly recommend them for imaging or orthopedic needs.

Some of the people here are great. The lab techs, the nurse practitioners, the pharmacists. But this is a testing center basically. Every couple of months I have a new resident doctor, so every couple of months I get someone who doesn't trust the previous person's diagnoses and orders a full round of tests again. It's pretty rough. The wait time at the front desk is ATROCIOUS if you're there are any time after 7am. Usually a line of 15 people and only 3 triage people checking you in leaving 9 empty desks. My tip would be don't build twelve check in desks if you only ever staff 3 to 5 of them.

I got a 5 minute surgery consult with a man who was NOT my surgeon. Still no idea who he was. NOT the skilled surgeon I waited 6 weeks to see. My actual surgeon came in for a minute and introduced himself then left. I would’ve liked to speak to the actual man that I scheduled to perform my surgery but he was to busy for me. They didn’t shut the door to my room and I felt no privacy and was distracted by all the others working and being loud at their desk. I legit felt like I was rushed. The nurses were rushing me to take pictures. Here and there, room to room. They were literally calling people in the waiting room who had sat there for over and hour and said “well we have to reschedule you cause we are just to busy”... I I’m still floored that this was the care I received at UK. Really went downhill.

We are an all medical professional family and it's a running joke that this place is better with their billing department than their ability to diagnose, which usually is the other way around. Save yourself the trouble and go to Baptist.

This location is extremely whenever I've had to go in. The front check-in reminds me of the DMV on every level. Once checked in, the seating area to await screening has very little seating with people having to pull in their feet since at least four of the available seats border a main hallway. Once into the various clinic areas they are fairly polite if not attentive. The X-Ray techs I encountered were professional, but not empathetic to one's physical limits by any means. So, overall, they get a 3 out of 5 stars for a typical universal care facility...oh, wait...they aren't universal care, are they. Just imagine if they were...OMG!

I love this clinic. Not only are the Dr's phenomenal, but the first people you see are the receptionist clerks. Every last one of them greet you with a pleasant smile and a very kind voice. Let's not forget about the other staff members who sit in the back and side cubicles, they are all so nice. The pharmacy staff, phenomenal. An added bonus to the Turfland clinic is, the pharmacy is on site, as well as labs/x-ray techs. There's also a physical therapy building on the inside, but I've never gone in there. Summed up into one overall word, PHENOMENAL! Thank you to everyone I have come into contact with. Love you all.

i drove 2 hours from somerset ky to lexington to get my broke finger looked at because no one would help me “well we have to reschedule you cause we are just to busy”..I’m still floored that this was the care I received at UK. Really went downhill. the woman at the desk called pam romans turned me away and i need help bad. and i drove 2 hours to get there because i need help and she turned me away and i even begged for help, i have never been so mad in all my life and i am so bad that i feel like i need to take some kind of action , i can't die like this and just get turned away , this is to much for me to bear and i just can not take it any longer. good bye, thanks for nothing

I have anxiety and depression and my doctors treat me like I'm absolutely crazy. Told me that since the three medications I've tried aren't helping that they can't do anything for me. Oh, and asked me how do I know that I've been depressed since i was 16 and said it's probably just an "adolescent thing". Not to mention the nurse that took my vitals was soooo rude to me every time I had a question about something. They always try to rush me out without giving me any info on the medicine they gave. One good this is they get you in quick.

Nice modern facility, very confusing lay out, though. Tried multiple doors facing Harrodsburg Rd trying to get inside, all were locked with no indicators of where to enter. It ended up being around the side of the building. Once I figured that out it was fine.

The first 2 1/2 years I went here were awful. Long time to check in (six or 8 desk but 3 people working them). My first visit was with an intern not a doctor who after meeting me for 5 minutes decided to change every medicine I was on. Was a nightmare. Then when I went back had another intern that changed that. Third time saw an actual doctor. Long story short, in the last 3 months I finally got a doctor, Tina Fawns, who actually took time and care and is finally getting me on the right path. If not for this I was switching doctors again. I guess it is a training facility for interns and these young ones come in wanting to shake things up and that did NOT work well for me. I have had other problems there also but to much to list here.

I was originally at Bluegrass Community Health and they were awful. It takes forever to get an appointment, then the appointments are so far out. Takes hours out of my day when I would go there. Best decision I ever made coming here!

Always friendly and quick. Pharmacy in house, Lab in house, Optician, Dentist and more in house makes healthcare easier. Front Desk situation could improve. I do wish they would let people just coming in pick a number so they can sit down to be called instead of standing waiting in line, sometimes out the door. There's an early morning rush on the front desks, and people who can barely stand have to stand there in line, some with obvious age or disability issues. Either that or provide a bench for the line. Even if they called up numbers for the next two for the line it would be easier on everyone not having to stand through everyone.

Quick service and the staff were very friendly. They were able to work me in on the same day I called, which was a miracle. The parking was easy, but signage at the front of the building regarding where the main entrance is would be helpful, as the door is on the lefthand side of the building as it appears from Harrodsburg rd.

Pros: The check in process is nice. Every time I have been there, it takes only a few mins to check in, and usually the wait time to be taken back to an exam room is less than 15 mins. This is probably the best check in service I have had with a doctors office. Cons: I have been to this location about 5-6 times so far. Granted when I normally need to go, I will call that day to try to get in that same day due to being sick. Every time I have been there I have seen a different person. Of those roughly 6 times, only 1 time did I leave feeling like my trip was not wasted. To give an example. The most recent time I went was on a monday after having been to the ER 2 days earlier. I returned to the doctors office because I had an allergic reaction to the medication I was prescribed at the ER. Their conclusion was not to prescribe a different medicine, but to basically imply that the ER doctor was wrong, and that I am fine. I was having trouble with extreme gas, bloating, trouble sleeping, and abdominal discomfort that was onset over the past week. Their suggestion? Change your diet to not include foods that cause gas, which is eliminating fruits, sugars, beans, wheat, dairy, a good portion of vegetables, (basically and unrealistic diet) and come back in a month.... This did not even seem right, I have not had problems with my diet before, this was a sudden onset, they didnt run any tests on me, and basically acted like I am fine. This is one of several times I have been there, and after this past time, I have lost faith in their diagnostic work and will be going elsewhere.

I’ve not had a good experience here. For one appointment I’d had scheduled for months in advance, I showed up (a 45 minute drive) and was told my appointment had been cancelled even though I hadn’t been notified. Then, the most recent time, I scheduled an appointment for 12:15, showed up at 12:15, and was told my appointment was at 1:15. So I waited for the hour and then at 1:15 they came out and said because of a “scheduling mishap,” that three people had been scheduled all at the same time. OF COURSE, of the three they let me go in last even though I came first and was waiting the longest. Just very frustrating and unfortunate situations. I’ll definitely be changing my primary dermatologist to someone else. The doctors themselves are lovely, I’ve just had very had luck with scheduling and the staff have not been helpful.

U.K. doctors have been my orthopedic physicians for 12 years. Surgeries, injuries, rehab. Wonderful. State of the art. But I injured my ankle last week (lig damage, poss fx), and even with referral from PCP, as I need an MRI or CT and ongoing care, you can't see me for 3 months. THREE MONTHS! And you refused to fill my prescription for the temporary walking boot I my ankle needs because it wasn't written by a U.K. physician. Who I can't see for THREE MONTHS! What is the point of me being faithful to U.K. sports medicine physicians if you can't even see me when I need you? Thoroughly disgusted.

The staff is always friendly. The reason I am giving two stars is because billing is a joke ... You do not know how much you owe when you leave . I was given a card to call to see how much my visit would be. When calling the number that was given .. the woman was very rude and told me that it would be ten days before I could find out how much I owed. The last visit I had before this they told me what my co-pay was ( which was like 10 dollars). Paid the copay. Months later I am receiving phone calls from collection agency. Never received any kind of bill. They sent it it straight to the collection agency.

I traveled out of state to see Dr. Joseph Van Sickles. The Surgeon then billed me $149 for an "evaluation" that he did not do, but simply referred me out of state to another surgeon then left the room! He did not sit down and discuss my diagnosis, or how to correct my condition. He knows how to correct my condition but didn't want to put the time or effort into helping. I would stay away from this Oral Surgeon if you have a difficult case, and there scheduling coordinator was very deceptive. The Surgeon then wrote a 1 sentence statement of the visit saying I cannot help him. Pathetic. Stay away from incompetent surgeons.

Will take long lines at early check in to have the parking at this location and no UK traffic. Front staff effecient to get people registered and medical staff concerned for patients. Little weird layout for intake. Adding tiles or colored lines on floor would help.
