I’ve been a patient for over 30 years& with the addition of NP Lindsay House it’s even better! She is very caring & compassionate, always right on with her skin checks& diagnoses. Also her biopsy’s don’t hurt near as much as they used to. LOL

My daughter and I both see the staff at this office. We have always found the staff to be very nice and accommodating. The nurse practitioner, Lindsay is brilliant! Based on various symptoms, she correctly identified a serious issue my daughter was developing and referred us to the right doctor. My daughter is now being treated for the condition and has improved significantly. thank you Lindsay for your care, expertise, and attention to details!

Staff is really really rude. I don’t prepare going to the doctor specially doctor hidgegord aprn. She is nice but she charges for what you not been diagnosed with her and she charges you all the money that you have. Her staff is rude when I call in office to talk to doctor. They don’t let me talk to doctor. And office staff said you can sue us for that. And I am suing her for sure to charge me for wrong medication that she did not even check my arms and charge me the medication.

My son has been seeing the Shearers and Lindsay House for about a year and they have been wonderful! The staff is amazing and I love how fast I can get an appointment! I Will always bring me son to this great office!!

Very poor bedside manners on all accounts. I was told I had three moles that needed to be removed. I had previously had others removed. I got a second opinion with St. Elizabeth and was told that they absolutely did not warrant being removed. After my skin check at St. E, I mentioned to the dr. hat I had been to another dermatologist and they wanted to remove three different moles. She said, "Is it the Shearer Practice by any chance?" I said yes. She told me they get a lot of those cases. It's scary to be told you have potentially cancerous moles that need to be removed. It's uncomfortable having them removed and then it's a slow torture waiting for the biopsy results to come back. Because I received this 2nd recommendation I will no longer be a patient at The Dermatology Center and I would warn everyone to have a 2nd opinion before being told you need a mole removed.

Front staff can be rude and not good at communicating with patients. My experience about 6-8 months ago, front staff waved my insurance card in the air stating it was my responsibility to get a referral sent by my PCP but I was not a new patient and had been seen several times before then. So I gave it another shot because Lindsay is great, very kind and knowledgeable. She will remove anything questionable and test it just to be safe. At my last visit I received the grand exit. Front staff seemed to have learned better communication skills but I found it very odd while paying that there was a crowd at the front just mingling. It kinda made me feel like I'd done something wrong because of reporting the staff member. Not sure if I will return.

Lindsay House is always spot on whenever any issues show up with myself and my family. So happy we found her.

The Doctors are kind and do a good job. I have been happy with my treatments. My only complaint is the wait time. I have had to sit in the waiting room up to an hour after my appointment time multiple times. They seem to often overbook.

Staff is extremely rude. Called to get results and before I could finish my sentence she stated the results weren't back yet. Was told they would be ready in 1 week and it's now 2 weeks later. Will not be going back.

Worst patient experience ever and I didn’t even get to see or talk to the doctor after requesting twice. Office staff were rude and uncaring. Overcharged me and theN Treated me as if I owed them something which I did not. I had been a patient for over 15 years and my whole family uses this dermatologist. The last visit I had they told me of a new office policy where they required I pay 65% of my bill the day of my visit. Well their calculations of 65% was well over the amount I actually owed when I finally got my EOB from my insurance two months later. I had to call them several times in order to get a refund to successfully process. Otherwise they would have just kept my money. No apologies either, it was just my duty to get the money they owed to me. Well today I show up for my appointment and they tell me again about the requirement to pay 65% and I informed them of my prior issues with their calculations and that I’d prefer they run it through my insurance first and then bill me and I would pay in full at that time. They refused to even let me be seen. No apologies for incorrect billing before or anything. They said my choices were to cancel or reschedule my appointment if I would not agree upfront to pay 65% today. They said last time I was only overcharged $68 as if it was nothing. I said that was over 10% of the total bill. They said I would still have to pay at least 60% of the bill since my insurance must pay out a little higher. I still don’t understand 60% of what because I had not even been seen and so at that time owed absolutely nothing. After refusing to allow me to speak to the doctor about this issue they brought out their office manager who just said the same things to me. So I ended up asking for my medical records and I have no intention of going back. I know for a fact that they do not apply this policy to everyone as my mother was seen in August of this year, had not met her deductible and was not asked to pay anything that day. Never been treated so rudely by incompetent office staff. I hope Dr. David Shearer reads this and realizes changes are needed in his staffing and policies.

The office staff are rude and unprofessional. GO ANYWHERE ELSE.

Professional, comfortable and convenient practice! It's nice to not have to wait months to see a dermatology provider. I saw the nurse practitioner, Andrea Hilgeford. She was thorough with her assessment and took the time to explain exam results and to answer my questions. Biopsy was quick and painless and results were exactly as Andrea predicted! Great care and experience all around!

The only good thing I can say about this place is that you can get an appointment with very short notice. Aside from that, the place is a total assembly line. They get you in and out ASAP in a fairly cold and impersonal fashion. I have decent insurance but still had an $80 copay and then they sent me a sizeable bill a few weeks later for what insurance didn't fully cover. All for 2 little shave biopsies that took about a minute to remove. I was not informed of my results....I had to call them....and they did not send me a copy of my report. If you are not in a hurry to get an appointment you should probably look elsewhere for more personalized care. If convenience is of utmost importance to you though, it really is nice to be able to call and get in the next day.

The Shearers are amazing dermatologists. The father has the breath of experience of many decades in practice. Clay, his son, has had excellent formal training and the irreplaceable mentoring of his father. They are both kind and caring physicians and humans, Be advised, it is a very busy practice but I have never been in spite of how busy and stressed the staff might be, I have never heard a cross word or been mistreated, as some of the other reviews mentioned.

Dr. Clay Shearer is the BEST dermatologist that I have ever been to in the past 20 years!!!! Clay is always available to answer all questions and is a perfectionist with every procedure he completes! He and all the staff in the office are the very BEST of any doctors office I visit through out the year!!!!!! If you are looking for the BEST, than give the Dermatology Center a call and you will be extremely happy you did!

I always have a great experience at this office. My family sees the Doctors & I see Nurse Practitioner Andrea Hilgeford and she very kind and answers any questions I have. As busy as this office seems the front office staff is always very polite and courteous. I never wait very long to be seen and I would recommend any of the providers they have there!

Ally Williams

The only thing I like about this place is my doctor. She’s awesome. The receptionist are so rude. I’ve almost left a couple times because of them. Super unprofessional. I can’t wait to be off acutane so I don’t have to be near the front desk staff.

James Griffin

This place is a joke. Charging people who have never been to the office 50 dollars on a no show when I called and made a appointment. Money grubbing shady company

Tom Runge

Always in way too big of a hurry. Too many patients. I think they overtreat and I always have problems with my insurance claims.

Gianna Pretelini

Rude staff. Don’t seem pleased to work here or with people in general.

Benjamin Hearn

The billing practices are questionable at best - proceed with caution.

Requested an immediate appointment ( referred by Dr. Mead) after experiencing skin problems on my face for 6+ months. Staff set me up an appointment the same day. Met with nurse practitioner first who was very informative and right on with diagnosis. Then met doctor who confirmed diagnosis. Both were very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Prescriptions were given and follow up in 60 days! Waiting room and bathroom clean. Cost, do not care. Being healthy, Priceless. Thank you .

Amy Bradford

Andrea was awesome! She came in and I immediately felt comfortable. All of the staff were great. This was my first visit here and I will continue coming back!

My family has been seeing Dr Shearer for 3 generations. He's great. He has a great bedside manner and sense of humor. He's treated acne, skin tags, cancer, warts - really anything we've thought to bring to his attention. He's fantastic. I would also trust his son Clay with my skin if I wasn't able to get an appointment with David. His staff is an entirely different situation since they don't bother to answer the phones half the time and when they do pick up the phone they seem to forget they left you on hold.

This place is awesome - Lindsay House gets five stars! Kind compassionate and tender!!

Jaime Gray

Lindsay House NP is very knowledgeable and kind. I would highly recommend her. She has always taken the time to thoroughly explain things to me, and provide appropriate treatments.

These people are crooks!! My husband got laid off a week before a scheduled appointment to have a large cyst on his face removed. He really needed the procedure done and we assumed the insurance would carry through the end of the month. Long story short, it did not end we received a $900 bill. Of course with him being laid off, we did not have the money to pay it right away. I tried to set up a payment plan and they refused to work with me, saying they would only accept payment in full. By the time we had enough money to pay it off, they had already sent it to collections with a 35% fee added on... The original bill of $900 was now a whopping $1,300!! Of course the last thing we needed was his credit score to go down on top of being laid off so we went ahead and paid it. A week later we received ANOTHER bill for $90 from his NOVEMBER consultation appointment saying we never paid a co-pay. If it's now June, why are we just now getting a bill from November?? After you already sent our account to collections?? These people refuse to work with us and are trying to take every penny we have. Absolute scoundrels!! And the ladies who answer the phone are extremely rude with no pity whatsoever. I urge you DO NOT COME HERE unless you want to be cheated out of your savings.
