I find Premier Dermatology meets my needs for several reasons: 1. Appointments are easier to make and they tend to run on time. 2. If I make an appointment with Dr. Ellerbroek I see him--my previous dermatologists office would change providers without notice siting shortage of providers which meant I had a lack of continuity with my care. I never saw a Dr at the previous office. 3. Dr. Ellerbroek is very professional and takes the time to answer my questions.

I had a bout with Melanoma a few years back and I moved to Cedar Falls. The Doctor and staff were very friendly and helpful. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was that they do not currently have the chemical peel for my teenage son.

I had given them 5 stars because of their service but after I got the bill I dropped it down to 2. I saw an ARNP (NOT a doctor) who froze a spot about the size of a dime on my face and charged over $340. 2 separate charges for 1 visit totaling less than 5 minutes in the office.

A few of my relatives have visited Premier Dermatology for acne, warts, etc. They tell me of the great staff and how quick Alena and Justin Ellerbroek were to call them in. When I heard this, I decided to leave a review. I've noticed below that some people are leaving bad reviews because a family member did not enjoy their visit, but because my family members loved Dr. Ellerbroek and Alena E so much, I wanted to leave a good review. I may not have had my own experience, but I still highly recommend Premier to family and friends.

He diagnosed me with Eczema and on my 2nd visit I told the doctor the medicine was not helping with the itching. He told me that I was using the strongest topical medicine he could give me and sent me on my way. After seeing another dermatologist in Cedar Rapids I was diagnosed with psoriasis and put an oral medication along with the topical. I will not return to Premier Dermatology.

I had 3 pre cancer spots on my face frozen. The procedure was quick and almost painless. I was informed what was going to happen and the Dr. explained what to look for in the future so I would recognize any possible problems in the future. I was seen at my appointment time, in and out in less than 30 minutes. The frozen areas have healed and left no visible marks on my face. The Dr. and staff were courteous and efficient.

My wife already left a review, but I don't think one does it justice. We went there 4 times and waited far longer than anyone should have to wait if they have an "appointment." The 4th time we went my wife left a review while we were there because we were put in a room to stare at a wall until we could see the doctor. Ten minutes later the doctor referenced this review (while he had left the room) and comes back and brings it up to my wife while the nurse is putting a shot in my back!! He is the only doctor I have ever seen check their phone notifications while dealing with a patient. I found this very unprofessional and then he had the balls to tell me he doesn't overbook. Maybe there is a reason why they are only open 4 days a week in Waterloo, they are squeezing 5 days into 4. I don't know when the precedent was set that people are willing to wait long periods of time, but I was told by Justin and a nurse that the wait time is what we should expect at a medical facility. I think they have turned their perception into reality. All of my appointments were in the morning so it wasn't like there was time for them to just get behind throughout the day, it was a defined pattern. Fortunately and most of you don't care about this, but I have made a stronger recovery using some OTC supplements and moisturizer than any diagnosis I was given by Dr. Justin Ellerbroek. So I will not need to transfer my care to any of the skin care facilities he referred me to that were around two hours away!!

Dr. Ellerbroek gets 'exceptional' rating from me. Very thorough, professional straight forward discussion and action plan for my melanoma. Multiple visits in 2014 for minor surgery resection, since then semi-annual full screening each ending with a few "preventive procedures" all well handled by entire staff. And a very special thanks for good scheduling as I have never waited more that 15 minutes for the Doctor.

Did a good job of answering questions and explaining diagnosis, however, it was over an hour wait past the appointment time to see the doctor the last 2 times I was there. If an appointment is scheduled for 10:15 it is not acceptable to have to wait until 11:15 to see a doctor. There were so many people in the waiting room there were not enough seats for everybody. Stop overbooking!

Brought my wife to him twice. Both times he just merely guessed at the problem, guessed that it was a form of plaque psoriasis or an extremely bad case of allergic eczema. Never bothered to test her to see why she is having these allergies, simply through some medication at it. Complained about having some many clients. Never got an answer about my wife's condition, and then charged us almost 300$ for him to guess. It was a waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and go to a real doctor

I wanted to thank the receptionists and doctor for getting me in on short notice. They were very accommodating with my schedule, as my work can be unpredictable and keeps me out of the area for long stretches of time. My husband and I went in for full body skin scans. We were very disappointed. It was a waste of time ( to drive there ) and money. It was a very quick scan. They spent about 5 minutes on each of us. We will go back to the other dermatology office in town where they looked us over thoroughly ( about 20 minutes apiece ) and measured and recorded each spot they found so there will be a record they can compare it to the next time we go.

I would not recommend this dermatologist. My daughter saw Alana Ellerbrook. She was so rude and when the nurse returned my call, she called my daughter by the wrong name. We will NOT return here and will instead drive 2 hours back to our previous derm. who knows what he's doing. Very disappointed. UPDATE. Alana actually just called my daughter after reading this review and was apparently quite rude and unprofessional. She kept interrupting and talking over her. Clearly I wrote this, not my daughter so why would she berate a 19 year old college student over the phone. This behavior only further proves my initial review. This is not the type of behavior I would expect from a medical professional.
