I ignored the one bad review, and now I'm wishing I hadn't. I just left the office without being seen after sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes. I thought scheduling the first appointment of the day would ensure I didn't have to wait around, especially when I was told it would be 20-30 minutes for my visit total. I even called to confirm the time frame again yesterday. After watching 3 different patients who checked in 15-25 minutes after I did get called back before me, I left. Glad I got up at 5 a.m. for nothing.

My entire experience with Dr. Guenther and his staff was outstanding. The waiting was minimal, the staff was very friendly, and the doctor is completely knowledgeable and personable. He had my problems figured out within a couple of minutes. .After my prepping, the doctor returned for the minor surgery. There was minimal pain, complete explanation, and instructions for care at home. I am nearly healed and very satisfied with the care I received. I recommend Dr. Guethner with no reservations.

I decided to go to the Dermatology Center to try to get rid of some stubborn warts. I was initially treated by Aubrey, who was great. She did laser treatment on me several times, and it was helpful. She was attentive, provided excellent patient care, and was thorough. She was detail-oriented and caring, and always offered me an ice pack afterwards. I did not continue with the last recommended treatment, and most of the warts came back due to that, so I went back for more treatments later, and learned that their cryogenic treatments are more aggressive and fast-acting, although painful, so upon Jeremy's recommendation, I started a combination of those and more laser treatments. He was not nearly as attentive or thorough as Aubrey, and although cryogenic treatment is initially far more painful than laser in my opinion, he was not attentive to that, and offered me nothing for the pain until I asked. He also froze a mich larger area than necessary, as some of my warts were very small. He was negligent in not informing me of the associated risks. I had an adverse reaction to the cryogenic treatment, and one of my smallest warts, that was barely visible at the time of treatment, blew up into a huge wart surrounding half of my nail bed in a matter of weeks, as well as the treatment killing a small sliver of my nail. When I had asked him about the risks regarding treating warts so close to the nail, he did not inform me of ANY, and told me it was "fine." Upon later research, I learned that cryogenic treatment close to the nail bed (mine was right on the edge of it) can cause permanent nail damage. Thankfully in my case it was only temporary damage, but he was negligent and unprofessional in not informing me of the serious risks. When I called to discuss it, he called me back and told me he was sorry I had that reaction, and that I would have the warts treated for free because of the complications. I no longer trusted them, but only because of that offer, I decided to schedule another appointment. I was seen by the dermatologist instead of one of the PAs that time. He viewed me as a liability risk because of what I had gone through with them, and because I had openly addressed the issues with them. Because of that, he sent me home with salacylic acid pads and a prescription for an immune boosting medication. He wanted me treated at home, away from the center, out of fear of the possible ramifications of their negligence. I was not only charged for the "free" visit, but also for the expired salacylic acid pads I was given. (They had expired the previous month) Informed consent, including informing the patient of any known common risks associated with treatment, is one of the basics of patient care, and is something you have the right to as a patient. Save your time and money, and go somewhere where they are more professional and up-front with you. I have no complaints about Aubrey, but you don't know who you're gonna end up getting if you go there, and you can be sure that whoever it is, if they are not honest with you, their negligence will be covered up as well as possible, and not properly addressed or compensated for. (In response to the dermatology center's dismissal of my comment below, my married name is actually Winters, and unfortunately, everything in my review with regards to the dermatology center actually did happen)

I made an appointment for skin issues that were cosmetic. I made it clear when I called that I didn't have any healthcare related concerns. I scheduled my appointment and went in early. I had everything taken care of quickly as far as checking in and filling out paperwork. The front office staff was great. The problem arose when the doctor came in. She checked over my skin for any medical issues and told me I was fine. She then went on to say, " you should put down your magnifying mirror." The condescending tone and attitude was crazy. I am first and foremost a paying customer. I am not a child and I didn't appreciate the attitude or tone. The clinic offered the procedure; I shouldn't feel shamed and belittled for going. I went to this clinic based on reviews but never again. If you are looking for anything cosmetic you should find someplace else.

The front office is not really friendly, which disturbs me quite a bit but I see quite often in medical practices for some strange reason. As a dental office manager, which I realize is usually a much smaller scale, I just need to say that I believe in the front office staff being your first contact with the patient and they NEED to be AMAZING at all times in person and on the phone! As a general rule, I would refer everyone I know to this practice for sure! Thank you for always taking care of our family's needs!

There are three things about this place that warrant my score: 1) Imagine the capitalist success of McDonald's: the faster the turn over, the more customers, the more money. Now apply that to a doctor's office. I've seen the doctor for about 7 mins over 2 appointments. The staff is nice, but they're here with the sole purpose of getting people in an out as quickly as possible. 2) The sign in process is very unclear. Every time I've gone in the afternoons, there's been either a line or no receptionist. But there is a sign in sheet. That they don't check. So you sit there for 20 mins thinking you're all set until you notice someone who got there after you get called. Fun. Also like, see 1), I don't understand why this part is so poorly done. 3) For some medications, they make you go through an app that my very broad insurance doesn't even cover. It forces you to get name brand. When you call and say it's too expensive, they give you a different prescription through the same system. It takes about three tries to get the affordable, generic brands. At most, that should be two. But it's clean and they helped my acne, so they get 2 stars.

Today I drove 1.50 hours to my apt with Dr. Gunthier. I had the appointment for many many weeks. He has treated my husband in the past. I discussed with the initial appointment lady that I wanted the same doctor as my husband due to the care HE gave to my husband. I get over there this a.m. and commented to the receptionist my name, age and appointment time with Dr. Gunthier. In the parking lot, I mentioned to my husband that I better not be pushed off to anyone else. Sure enough get to exam room...Dr. Guntheir is not in today. I was very upset, especially when they said the appointment was never with him but with a female staff member. After making my feelings clear, I walked out. I am not buying there was a slip up. I am seeing this too often in Dr. offices... lol, actual bait and switch.

I received an appointment soon after I called them about a suspicious spot on my arm. Audrey Hewitt quickly identified the spot as squamous cell carcinoma and she removed it that same day. Audrey is knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The entire procedure was completely painless even though it was a large spot! I spent a total of one hour in the office including the removal procedure, and left with no pain. The wound is healing very nicely and I will not procrastinate if I have another skin concern in the future. I would recommend the Dermatology Center of Indiana to anyone!

I have been going to the Dermatology Center of Indiana for a few years now. I was introduced to the staff from my daughter. She had been going to a dermatologist in our local area and had been having a mole 'observed' for 2 or 3 years. I suggested a 2nd opinion and she decided to come to Dermatology Center in Plainfield since they had recently moved into that area. Dr. Guenthner took a biopsy and in two days HE was in contact with her to have it removed; the biopsy showed skin cancer. I was so thankful that she had a 2nd opinion and impressed with his quick action. I decided to stop going to my local area dermatologist and transfer to the Dermatology Center in Plainfield (it is a 1.5 hr drive for me, but I feel that my health and piece of mind is worth it)

The have often gone well beyond my expectations to deliver treatment and medications at affordable prices. NOT EASY TO FIND THESE DAYS! I can honestly say that The Dermatology Center of Indiana brings their "A" game every time you visit them. I've been a patient almost since the day they opened and I've never been anything but happy with their care.

1st...doing their online pre-patient forms were a NIGHTMARE! 2nd..the laser was required for a wart treatment. Was told on a Thursday, my a mgr in back office..."we will reschedule you Monday, and if you don't here from us Friday, the machine will have been fixed and good to go. Went there on Monday and the 1st thing I said...."Is the laser machine repaired....and they looked at me like a deer in the headlight". My son and I had both gotten there at 6:45 AM to take care of this. Was appologized to and blah blah blah....(and they had others scheduled for use of laser. Piss pour operation you have there, Scott G. Lastly, by kid is brought there by his Grandmother..."oh, we don't have his insurance cards on file. I sent this over online, with the crappy online forms. So I had to send Grandma a picture of the insurance cards. This is all BS. Has been nothing less than a stressful situation from the beginning. And there is nothing they can do about it. It's not like, "Hey, come back and get a free laser treatment on us". The only thing I can do, is spread the word of my experience, and definitely NEVER come back.

I had an appointment but their doors were locked and lights out and they did not answer phone. Even though it said they closed at 12:30 and my appointment was at 9:30 sooo I won’t be returning. What a waste of gas and my time.

I don’t even know where to begin. First off, I was recommended to go to this dermatology center from my family doctor. As a new patient, it took THREE days to get any type of contact with this office just to make an appointment. I was sent to voicemail every time I called and no one called me back when I did leave a voicemail (I left two by the way). When I finally got in, I did have a wonderful experience with Audrey Hewitt who made my time very comfortable and answered every question I had. Sadly, the medication I was prescribed caused an allergic reaction so I called the office to get prescribed with something else and of course getting in contact with them again was like a cat and mouse game. When a nurse finally picked up the phone, she informed me she would send a new prescription to my pharmacist (this was around 11 am). I called my pharmacist that same day (around 6 or 7pm I believe) but they informed me they didn’t receive anything. Now, the next morning, I’m having to play this game again just to know why my local pharmacist never recieved any prescription.. Long story short; if you don’t mind getting put in voicemail every time you call to make an appointment or to talk to a nurse, then you won’t have an issue here. Personally, I would rather give business to somewhere that doesn’t seem like they’re under staff.

Dr. Guenthner quickly diagnosed and treated a rash that I had suffered with for about a month. I had been seen by 3 other doctors all of which misdiagnosed the problem. I have had no itching at all since Dr. Guenthner's treatment. My wife and I have been patients of The Dermatology Center for several years. We live about 90 min away but won't even consider going any where else.

Last week, I rated The Dermatology Center of Indiana and made a few comments regarding a situation my 75 year old neighbor had with DCOI. I had no idea the Doctor actually read these messages and responded personally. When I shared the situation, Dr. G responded immediately. Over the weekend, one of the staff members of Dr. G's office came by my home and I had my neighbor come down. She took a photo of the area on his face and sent it to the doctor. Dr. G immediately responded and took action. The staff member and Dr. G exchanged a few text messages and came up with a plan. My neighbor just felt that no one would listen to him or his concerns. He left my home and I told him everything would be okay. Today, I received this text message. I just want to say thank you to Dr. Guenther and his staff for their care and concern. I didn't do anything other than respond on his behalf so I give credit where credit is due! Thank you so much for taking care of my neighbor. He is very grateful!

The Actinic Keratosis spot was terminated by means of liquid nitrogen cryosurgery which took two weeks to heal, but the sore hasn't returned since the treatment one year ago.
