I first chose Dr Goettler as my daughters pediatrician. After she visited us for the first time while still recovering from delivery, her final words to me were "Dont let her grow up to be a princess". I assume she was trying to imply to raise my 2 day old daughter to be independent and unique, but this was not the time or place for this, nor was it any of her business how I raise my daughter. Totally unnecessary and I was irritated enough with her to change to Dr Johnson. Dr. Johnson saw my daughter from her 1 week appointment on. Numerous issues were brought to her attention regarding my child's development throughout the two years my daughter saw her. All of my concerns were brushed off as "she'll grow out of it". I felt very dismissed by her doctor. She spoke to me in a very condescending manner every time I brought something up, as though because I am younger I didn't know what I was talking about. After 2 1/2 years here, we switched to Riley and they were immediately welcoming and understanding of the issues. How can a doctor not see developmental problems for 2 years when a parent is clearly pointing them out? Now we are enrolling in classes for speech, etc. If i hadnt sought out a second opinion, how long would this have gone on? I could have been doing so many things to help my child if id only known or had help understanding the problem. The few times we saw the Nurse Practicioners, they were wonderful, as were the ladies at the front desk. The doctors just seemed to be pushy and out of touch. I couldn't be happier that I switched doctors for my child.
