I'm here as a patient at the moment been here almost a week because a very incompetent doctor implanted a defibrillator and installed it improperly which causes me severe pain plus is now infected with two abscesses. Now this hospital did not have to help me but they did!

I HATE ST VINCENT HOSPITAL... The quality of care is awful.. The only thing they have good thing they have are nice nurses. But the Physicians and the case managers are terrible. We have been waiting for the case manager to get back with us about the after care for my grandmother for five days. She finally decides to come to my grandmother's room to inform us that her hands are tied. WHO DOES THAT????? As a healthcare provider I would never tell a patient's family that my hands are tied and I can not help them make arrangements for aftercare for their love one. NEVER AGAIN! I DONT WANT TO GIVE THEM ONE STAR

Went there tonight (5/23). The ER doc was the most rude and condescending person I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing. He told me it was “all in my head”. Learn some bedside manners dude. You’re a disgrace. I walked (hobbled) out.

Ken Burress

Great experience and one of the best hospitals I've ever been at!!

To the staff and chaplain..Thank you for taking care of my aunt Carol Golden Hundley. You were very courteous, kind and obliging to our every request on Sunday June 30th 2019. We the family appreciate everyone of you. May God bless each and everyone of you!

Considered my bad memory due to coma as lies and treated me like I was a drug addict.

This place is a joke. No help whatsoever and waited for a long time to be seen.

This is the worst healthcare my family has ever had. So disrespectful. This hospital should not be represented by the Catholic FAITH. St. Vincent's is by far Not a appropriate name. I would Not take my dog to any of them or affiliations.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. They are absolutely horrible. Their sepsis protocols are outdated and deadly. I can’t believe the lack of knowledge and professionalism from the doctors. Even when asked about a newer test (PCT) that can aide in the diagnosis of a horrible condition like sepis the doctors did not order the test and instead said to go home and see a specialist. Not to mention when it was brought to their attention that MRSA was confirmed they didn’t even take any precautions in the waiting room. Stay away from this hospital if you want good patient care.

The staff is incompetent. The hospital smells old. I had an very bad experience in the outpatient radiology department. Theresa G. was so unprofessional. She is a manager there. Her employees knew more than her. It's a ghetto hospital in the burbs.

I broke my big toe while moving furniture in my apartment. Since I live close to St. Vincent's, I hobbled out to the car and drove down there. It was a bloody mess, but they wouldn't stitch it. The wound took two weeks to close up. They said the nail would fall off by itself in two weeks-- it didn't. After six weeks, the podiatrist had to do it, because the pressure was so bad. (By the way, I had to search for a podiatrist, because the one SV recommended was out of my network. They also said it wasn't broken-- later x-rays at my dr's office showed it was. It has taken four months to heal. If the ER doc could miss something that simple, how could I trust them with something more serious?? What if it was my neck that was broken? Would they have sent me home with a Tylenol???!!!

My husband has been in hospitals since May 2018. The last hospital said there was nothing else they could do for him. They sent him to St. Vincent Hospital and he started feeling much better and they felt the best was a heart pump. Eventually he will need a heart transplant. The staff have all been wonderful They saved my baby.

This place treated my woman and I like gold. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

DO NOT believe their estimated cost for a procedure. Get it documented before going in for the treatment if you can or find another hospital. The actual cost is much higher than what they tell you, probably to lure you into their hospital. I understand couple of $100 is acceptable, but not $500 (my procedure was for a scan and i don't understand how they can have 2 different numbers for labs. Estimate department is different from billing and they contradict with each other. Cannot trust them.

My wife had our twins 7-8 weeks early. I don't remember exactly which it was. I am leaning towards 7 weeks. This was back in 2005, both our girls came out at 3 pounds 4 ounces each. One had a 4 week stay in the NICU and the other for 5 weeks in the NICU. This hospital made sure our girls and mom was in the best care. They gave us food cards to eat at the hospital a couple times a day, we received gas cards to use as we were almost 2 hours from home. This hospital also provided a hotel room to stay in while we were there. Without this hospital our twins would not have made it. None of our local hospitals were equipped to handle such small babies and today are probably still not able too. Our girls are now bright and beautiful teenagers. They will be heading into high school next year. Wow, the time sure has flown. I am sure this hospital has seen its share of staff changes over the years. For us, we couldn't have received a better experience.... A life with our kids. Thank you, Derek

They made me wait for HOURS only to suggest that my ailment was that I was mentally ill for even coming in. Staff was very condescending. Worst hospital experience in my day.

If I could give zero stars i would. The level of care giving is at a all time low. Why would you get rid of the ultrasound team in the childrens hospital???? These children already go through so much being sick, why would you take away the only comfort the child has knowing that they would only get stuck once for a monthly transfusion. I'm done.... Riley here we come...

The nurses here were so rude to my daughter she has sickle cell and they were getting frustrated and pushed her when they knew she was in severe pain. Would not recommend

I am currently in this oh so famous hospital.by way of uv Jackson medical In miami, where I was told I have a brain tumor.I came here for treatment because I'm from Indiana and this is supposed to bed the best.so far not so much.no-one talks to you but down to you like you are some sub intelligent being when little do they know your i.q.is equal or greater than their own.I've suddenly( because they have no answers) became someone they think they can toy with and brush aside...now the tumor isn't a tumor..it's a cyst..but Can't be causing .problems.whole left side of body virtually gone.numb..brain scrambled half time...but none of that makes sense so he must just be a drug addict looking for a fix.( would explain blood draws after company left).... BEST HOSPITAL AROUND.HA

Took my mom in for a UTI, she left in a near vegetative state. I have little hope of her recovery. I would think twice before entering the doors to this hospital. I do realize the complexities and nuances of running a hospital. However, this hospital's lack of interdepartmental communication and inability to listen to those who know her best is what put us here. My mothers current state of being is on St. Vincent's hands. My mother is not a number or just a chart, she is a human being with emotions. Not all humans are the same. This hospital could use a lesson in not treating each person and each case as if averages only apply. Those rare cases do exist and if you don't catch it, you can kill someone. You almost did. You are not robots, please think outside of the norm. Maybe if you all would have kept that in mind, my mother and my family wouldn't be in this predicament. Hey Neurologists of St. Vincent, when family members who are frightened are asking questions, it may be best to not keep your eyes on the nearest exit or tell them "do you have any more questions cause I've been paged 3 times." I realize you're busy and you dont have time for us imbeciles and that your brains work quite a bit different than the rest of us. I also appreciate the work you've put into your education and career, but you still put your pants on the same way us peasants do, one leg at a time. Get over yourselves and take note of how the nurses, techs, and primary docs of this hospital treat their patients: with kindness and compassion. Bedside manners are important. The St. Vincent employee morale is low. The overlords of the hospital need to work on that. You shouldn't be taking away perks from the lifeline of your hospital; nurses and techs. Taking away a little discount at the cafeteria isn't gonna get you those properties up north much faster. On a side note, those silly phones are more of a pain than their worth, none of your nurses like them. Just putting that out there. And for gods sake, dump some money into your plumbing. Your people can't do their job properly without this basic necessity. This hospital almost killed one closest to me and she is now silently screaming from a distance lost within the vast desert of her brain. I hope I can get her back. And while I appreciate you guys admitting where you made mistakes, your superficial acknowledgement without an apology or any attempt to make amends is insulting. I will never be back to this hospital. I am cancelling all of my mothers, my children's and my appointments with any St. Vincent provider and will never use you again. Not that it really matters cause you're still getting paid and I'm just a little peon in your giant medical kingdom.

I was sent here with a issue I was told was serious but after being forced to ride in ambulance and spending a day of my life here they decided no surgical need was needed.. doc wanted me to stay just to keep taking meds. My room was old looking and for the rate they charge is not worth staying. I check myself out after speaking to doc. I won't be returning to this hospital... I only felt they were doing anything and everything to make money.. not looking out for my best health. In addition, they charged me $1800 for 5hrs in a room and then next day charged $2400, while nothing different was done.. i got over charged for med. 5x the cost of med. A lab was charged 5.25x more that an lab for St Vincent's immediate care location. My 26hrs in a hospital bed getting fluid med came to a total of 6k. and they were still trying to keep me longer and make bill higher by trying to keep me additional days. The prescription i was handed to use after i checked out was a $21 script of Amoxicillin. This doesnt make any sense.

My fiancé has been dealing with the incompetence of this hospital. The nurses do not answer the call light. He has been out of surgery for 9 hours yet still no pain meds that were ordered 4 hours ago. The physicians do not communicate even when in the same building. He gets the run around about the bills. They all come from different departments and with no explanation. He pays all 10 of them monthly and faithfully and they still harass him about payments. Totally ridiculous. We are going to transfer everything to IU health.

Elizabeth Dove

I don't recommend going to any of the Saint Vincent nor IU Health hospitals because they don't care about your health. They only care about how much money you have. They also double dip on insurance. I have yet to find a facility in Indiana that doesn't double dip on patient insurance. Too much fraud is going on here and at IU Health. Medical board obviously doesn't care about patients health.
