Good place to have your new little monkeys! Both of our kids were born here, great experiences.

They charged me over $500 for labwork they'd advertised on their website for $70. Their explanation? The lower price was for walk-in patients without a labwork order from their doctor. Can we pretend I just walked in and didn't have a doctor's order? No. Will I ever go to Riverview for labwork again? No. Labcorp will do the same test for $15.

Would not recommend. Slow service and not thoughtful

The staff may be friendly but they do not like to work at a fast pace. I would much rather go to Witham in Lebanon or Whiteston/Anson. There is no reason for me to have been sitting here for 2 hours bc of slow staff and an x ray. My child is hungry and grumpy while I listen to staff sit on their butts and laugh.

ER & CT SCAN DEPARTMENTS: I was taken to the ER in Oct 2012, the ER doctors are gentle and caring, compared to the EMTs who took me in their ambulance. My ER nurses were attentive too. I was re-admitted days later due to severe dehydration, the doctors and nurses were sweet and patient, the facilities were OUTSTANDING, and I was just very well taken care of for 2 straight days and night staying with them. The only issue I had was they had difficulty drawing blood from me, since I was so severely dehydrated, so they had to attempt a few times. PHYSICAL THERAPY DEPT (another center): I was also referred to their physical therapist, Carolyn, at their fitness center months later due to complications in my pregnancy. I LOVE my physical therapist, she made sure that I was on task, always made me feel welcome and comfortable. Plus she was really humourous too... MATERNITY DEPT: In fact, they are so awesome, I'm going to have my child with them this coming August. I absolutely ADORE my OBGYN, Polly Trainor, who's experienced and assuring. Amanda, my nurse was great. They are all highly trained professionals, and I will always go to them for any medical services I need :)

Two of our three children were born here. Great experience with both. Billing department needs some scrutiny. I asked for an itemized bill and found two separate charges for two separate I.V. sticks and subsequent meds. The problem is there was only one actual I.V. stick. When I asked the billing department about it, they replied "Oh yeah, that is standard. Don't worry, your insurance covers all of it."

BEWARE OF THIS HOSPITAL My father was brought in here and he had atrial fibrillation, sepsis and his diabetes was out of control and a nurse told my sister that we should just let him die because he's 81 years old. We have heard about the reputation of this hospital but this just confirms that these people are probably the worse Hospital in Indianapolis. Of course we did not take the dingy nurse's advice. We took my father to a much better hospital and here it is 6 months later and he is doing very well and independent and driving at times. I would not take my worst enemy to this Hospital. These people need to be shut down.

Don't go there. They don't have any compassion for people. I have suffering terribly, I am a human reaching out for help, but instead felt like a kick in the face. They do not care or want to help anyone. But they'll but sure to bill enormously for for allowing you to be graced with their presents.

Wayne Machala

Their staff in the ER department are incompetent and very rude. By far the worst hospital I've ever been to. I will never go back again.

This place is very close to my home so when someone has a bad emergency we have had to go there. I have tried many times about 10 over the years and have never received proper care. Everything from meningitis to broken bones they have messed them up. My son had a gushing nose bleed, several in a few days, the urgent care told us to go to the hospital and except to be admitted, instead they cauterized it and sent us home. The next day we found out he had brain swelling from meningitis. We always end up having to going somewhere else to fix things right. Also they are down right mean and aggressive, uncaring is an understatement. They only let you see a Dr. assistant not an actually a Dr. A few weeks ago I cut my finger almost off. I was profusely bleeding and was left throwing up and bleeding with my neighbor while they sat and talked in a glass room looking right at us. My elderly neighbor had looking for help and then they came in yelling at me. I'm done. We will always drive to another hospital. They put the blood pressure cuff on the arm with the bleeding making everything worse.. geezz I'm angry thinking about it. My poor elderly neighbor took me to be helpful and they constantly yelled at her and I. They couldn't stop the bleeding. We never did see any Dr. the entire time.

Had a motorcycle wreck, total incompetent, uncaring staff, had to clean my wounds myself, I'm not kidding either! Refused to stitch my wounds, or put on artificial skin! You're just interrupting their gossiping/internet time. My dghtr in law was there and is a full time nurse, and even she could not believe it! Was told by the Dr. That other injuries could appear later that I might not feel now, and if they did to call back for more meds if needed. I called back and without even so much as looking at my records, the ER nurse pretty much told me I was an addict , even though I have not been in hospt in years and don't even take any meds at all!! I was totally shocked!

If your primary care physician is in the Riverview network and sends you to Riverview hospital for testing DO NOT GO. ContactThe Customer Service Department and they will send an estimate to you, if you provide the following information: -A Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code, which can be obtained from your physician. -The name of the procedure. -Your name and mailing address. (This was copied from the very bottom of a Riverview billing FAQ page) If your primary care physician is in the Riverview network and sends you to Riverview hospital for testing DO NOT GO. Instead please research imaging and testing centers in the area within your network that offer a price comparison. This hospital and network overcharge for their services and will NOT even hint that there may be a more affordable option. I ended up paying hundreds of dollars more for a routine procedure that I could have saved if only a compassionate healthcare professional along the way had cared enough to inform me of any alternative options. Lesson learned!

Deborah Smith

Very friendly, caring and skilled staff! I received excellent care from my first phone call to the time I left from having fallen and breaking my wrist. Was very impressed. Walked in feeling anxious and left feeling calm and confident that I was in good care.

Elizabeth Hutton

Riverview is not the place to go if you have a HSA plan. Their rates are MUCH higher than other hospital affiliations in the area. We tried a new primary care with Riverview when our physician from St. Vincent retired. I couldn't believe it when I received the statement for the visit. We've had a HSA plan for 9 years. Never in that nine years have we paid more than $99 for a primary care visit, and that was for a high level visit or new patient visit. My statement for my new patient visit at Riverview was $201 total. I called the billing department to question this and they were like talking to a brick wall. They had no idea. Come to find out, they obviously don't receive the same insurance adjusted rates as the bigger hospitals in the area. I am so thankful I took it upon myself to find the specialist I was referred to rather than allow them to place me with someone in the Riverview network. I can only imagine how much I would owe them right now. To be honest, I wasn't at all impressed with my care at the physician's office, either. He promised he would get to the bottom of my problem, and then dropped me like a hot potato when he couldn't figure it out. Unfortunately, this is the story of healthcare these days, but there are things you can do to advocate for your own health. Start by not using Riverview Health.

David Edwards

Fast growing, moderately advanced. I on the negative side, the hospital lacks neurosurgery. Has a high incidence of a staff infections type. Waiting times are long in E. R. Faxing documents are very untimely. Ok, Ok, and I was born there

If i could give a 0 i would. Been meaning to write a riview about this horrible excuse for a hospital. Not only have my grandma and little brother died in the hands of these inconsiderate morons but they treat u like crap every time ive ever been there and ive lived in noblesville my whole life. Its worsened believe it or not over the past 5 years. This place is a joke, the nurses are incompetent as well as the majority of doctors here and theyre just flat out rude. They make u feel like crap for comin in an wasting there time. YOU SUCK RIVERVIEW!!!

Marc Rader

One of the worst places to go.... PERIOD. They operate with the mindset that EVERYONE is addicted to pain medication and treat you like you are. Even if you've been prescribed one by your doctor, if you get admitted.... They REFUSE to give you anything but Tylenol. My wife who had a kidney transplant and has abdominal pain from the surgery lays in pain suffering because the doctors refuse to give anything for it. I could be out front hit by a car and I would REFUSE to be treated by Riverview. Never will my family EVER go there again.

Wish to thank everyone I have been in contact with here, being treated with compassion and courtesy.

I was taken to Riverview Hospital by ambulance after an automobile accident: I had just entered an intersection where I was "T-Boned" by a car moving at high speed. Riverview was the nearest hospital, so that is where I was taken. What happened subsequently was an emergency room examination with x-rays. The pain in my left shoulder area was excruciating yet the folks taking the x-rays insisted that I lie with my full weight on my left side. Even with my very high pain threshold, no can do. They said I could go home. No, I couldn't. Subsequent to my emergency room examination, after my three or four day Riverview hospitalization, after three weeks of pain and lack of mobility, I went to my rheumatologist who then took his own x-rays and immediately found that I had fractured my left clavicle lengthwise. Even after Riverview took a large number of films and after my three or four day stay, these people couldn't find it. Now, after I went home from my rheumatologist, I checked my Columbia and my Harvard Home Health Encyclopedias, written for laymen, and they clearly stated that trauma to the shoulder by a force from the side of the shoulder could fracture a clavicle. Didn't they know that; how is it that with all their x-rays they couldn't find that?

This hospital has very rude staff at short stay. They talk to u with an attitude and there straight up rude to u if i could give this place 0 stars i would this place has went to hell since my grandma passedway here.

As a frequent visitor I love this hospital!

amyweaver253 .

I had fallen and busted my head open and was in alot of pain. I later even experienced a panic attack. The nurse/nurses that were to take care of me had absolutely no bedside manner. I myself am an RN and stated to my husband that I would never treat my patients the way they did to me. No compassion, no "It's ok", NOTHING! I knew that they were not the best but they were the closest. They asked if I had a current Tetanus shot and I said no, never recieved one, I obviously asked for some pain medication, they said I could take some Tylenol, never got any. If you care about your family, please, drive a few miles further and get the care you deserve.

My 90 year old mother had to have emergency surgery for a twisted bowel. Very serious and complicated for someone half her age. My sister took her from Westfield to Riverview Health in Noblesville. I am from out of town and had asked to take her somewhere else in Indy. The very best decision we made was to keep her in Riverview Health. The surgeon Dr Heiser was amazing. He treated her quickly explaining every detail before surgery and after. He was patient with our questions, answering them easily, yet professional to the core, letting us know that he was on top of every issue that might occur. His care after the surgery for our mother was compassionate and caring. All of the ICU staff that we interacted with were ALL very professional, yet compassionate and caring. My mother received the best possible care that she could have had , more so that if she had been at a larger hospital, as I have initially requested. Our family was always treated in a kind and helpful manner even in the cafeteria by the staff working there. I cannot say enough about this hospital, Drs, and staff, and therapists. Best encouraging hospital experience that I have had to deal with in many years. They got Mom up and going and she is doing great at home.

Allison Freeman

I have had nothing be amazing service! This is the only hospital my family and I will go to around here. The staff is helpful and caring. The billing department works with you when needed. Between our family of 6 we've dealt with them for several of years.

Went into ER for bad stomach pain. Had CT the day before and was told to come back if the pain and vomiting gets worse. Went back in today and the staff was very nice but the Dr. said he didn't know what to do for me. With the CT showing a small blockage in my stomach he should have done another CT to make sure I didn't have a fully blocked intestinal track but no other test were done and I was told to go home deal with the pain and call my family Dr. on Monday. Now talking to a PA and a MD after the visit I was told he should have ran tests and did another CT and helped with the pain. Nothing but nausea meds were givin and I was sent home with no meds or advise on how to get to feeling better. This is not the first time I've been here and sent home with no info. I went to IU North and am now scheduled for surgery because my intestines could rupture and I could die. This hospital is a joke and I'd rather die then go to them again.

Barbara Milcoff

I have never been treated in such a rude and aggressive manner. I was handled very roughly after open heart surgery. I have never been manhandled by hospital staff in such a manner before. I feel like I have been hit by a bus and my left hand has been numb since surgery but no one seems to care. Wish I would Have went to St. Vincent.

Friendly atmosphere but incompetent staff management in ER. (Referred to Riverview by my insurance's 24 nurse line.) The NPRN etc. failed to check all I reported to them about my severe pain symptoms. (There more than 3 hrs of test that came back negative) referred me back to my family doctor whom by their report referred to one of my other medical specialist, whom referred me back to my family doctor, whom's trauma nurse referred me back to Riverview's ER whom instructed me to call them if I was still having problems since Sunday now Wednesday was clueless I was even there. While Riverview was trying to figure it out, I called Carmel St. Vincent ER and was told to get there asap! Within a half or less of telling them verbatim of my symptoms as told to Riverview, I was finally correctly diagnosed and now receiving treatment and feeling better already! I have the best family doctor. I wish she would practice in the St. Vincent Network.

They are the reason my father and many others have died. If you care for your loved ones, take them to community or any other hospital.

8/7/2019. The only experience i’ve had with Riverview Hospital is through Dr. Jeff Ginther. I attended his seminar on knee and hip joint replacement about 4 years ago. He was energetic, knowledgeable, experienced and passionate about his profession as a surgeon. I wanted an alternative to surgery, so he/we settled on OrthoVisc injections. The treatment has done wonders for the last 3+ years. Now, Riverview, you have let your competent, passionate doctor leave your employ (or did you relieve him of his duties)? I have been unable to verify the reason for his absence. If you relieved him, I fear you made a grave error. Since he is gone, I called his office last week to secure my medical file. I was told someone would call me back in two days. Yesterday afternoon I got the office recording and left a message regarding my file. No one has contacted me to give me any status in obtaining my records. This is not the proper way to treat your patient. How about a phone call to express your care and concern? John Uskert

Sold my debt to Phoenix Financial and they called to collect almost 2 years later. "Would you like to pay this today to avoid this going to your credit report?" Don't really appreciate that considering I never received a bill.

Riverview hospital you have for the very 1st time disappointed me. You lost a Dr with more moral than ANY Dr I have ever met. This man will go every extra mile he can for his patients. I have never in my life met a better Dr. You were crazy to let him go.I will go where he goes.

Went in for a dislocated toe they xrayed it and offered no pain killers of any kind and just taped the toes together. I was also given no ice. They told me to go home ice it and do pain meds. My pain level was a 10. I was crying not one empathetic person there. Also recently a racing heart and the first nurse was great the second one was rude and would not answer my questions just responded by do you want it or not! Terrible bed side manner here. Wish another hospital was closer. They need to take to heart what people are saying. They are super expensive.

Brought my father back to health, and are caring for him when no one can. But wait even on a slow night is ridiculous

Bruce Moss

If given the choice, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Everyone was always professional, considerate and friendly. When you don't feel good it obviously adds stress, but they always made me feel I was the most important patient they had. The nursing staff was especially attentive. I couldn't have asked for better care no matter what shift was on duty.

Riverview Hospital is terrible to deal with billing wise. We've had nothing but issues with their billing department. And the billing staff always talks to me like I have no common sense. St. Vincent is much much much easier to deal with. Very very disappointing.

Had my 2nd child here. I would never go back. My doctor and anesthesiologist were great too- bad she works for company that exhibits a poor service, simply an unethical company. Poor, below average customer service. Prejudice behaviors, I wouldn't take a rat here.

Dustin Smock

This place is awful. I really shouldn't have to get into it considering the large amount of people that have given the same rating and shared the horrible things they had to deal with. I'll make it simple. If its not life threatening enough to where you can make it to another place, you should take that opportunity to do so. I'm not saying the staff are terrible people in general, and I'm not saying don't go there. That's your choice, I'm just saying that I refuse to go anymore. Terrible. Service.

My son fractured his ankle very badly playing football. We took him to Riverview where he was treated in the ER and they gave him pain meds immediately and since it was badly fractured and dislocated, they stabilized it and he had surgery by Dr. Sexton and was taken care of very well. Six months later he danced at his wedding. : )

Faith HOVEE

My good friend had to go to the emergency room twice for vomiting and other unpleasant symptoms. Both times they gave her iv fluids and nausea meds, then sent her home. Not doing tests to see what was causing the problem. Not cool. I dont recommend going there if you need medical help.

Marci Smith

I was a patient of Dr Wright with OBGYN specialists. She delivered both of my kids, and I was a patient of hers for almost 6 years. She was wonderful. When she left I met with Dr Trainer, instead of actually hearing my concerns she dismissed pain I was concerned about and sent me to a proctologist. I went through the colonoscopy to find shocking nothing was wrong as I knew it, because the pain I had was not on that end. I got a second opinion with Dr Carter, instead she talked about my weight saying it was squishing my ovaries and how was she supposed to know anything if I hadn't been taking pain medicine at home to see if it got rid of it?... Now that I am really concerned about some issues going on, I was dismissed yet again. I do not recommend the OBGYN specialists at Riverview at all anymore. They should be ashamed to call themselves doctors. Never.again. I will never recommend anyone to that office ever.

Dute Berta

Scheduled an EEG for my daughter at 7:00am. My wife and daughter arrived at 6:45am. Was told by hospital staff that the appointment "had been moved to 1pm". No apology, no explanation. I should have learned from prior experience at Riverview to ALWAYS drive a few miles further to get to St. Vincent's or IU Hospital for serious care. Riverview Hospital is simply not a serious hospital. Their systems are broken from the top down. It's too bad since we live here - but unfortunately our own hospital continues to be an embarrassment locally.

Susan Highland

I can't say enough about the wonderful staff, doctors, and nurses. I felt they all went out of their way for my relative who came in for surgery. Everyone was pleasant and helpful, I never felt uncomfortable asking questions or for assistance. I have had a lot of experience with hospitals and this one is over the top.

Alan Muey

Called to get a follow up from the ER since I couldn't get into my family doctor. The lady took the time to call my doctors office and get me in sooner than before. I highly appreciate the time and effort to get me what I needed. Thanks Riverview! Will be referring my friends to your great care and I hope I can get a doctor in your network soon!

Leave this network if you can. I have excellent (today's standard) medical insurance, but it isn't enough to cover the cost of services in this network. Riverview Health has a much higher than average cost than IU Health. I went to a local in-network doctor for whom is affiliated with Riverview Health, for a chest cold and the cost amounted to $1,600 out of pocket. The bills are still trickling in. This was for maybe an hour of actual work. Don't see anyone in this network unless you are on your deathbed. The billing department is the worst. I almost had to hire an attorney to make them recognize that I had insurance and to adjust the bill accordingly. I have been told by other family members who are not as fortunate as I am that setting up payment arrangements is a farce as they nonetheless send the bill to collections automatically unless full payment is made immediately. I typically do not write reviews on anyone unless it is for good work, but this is the exception. This is also not the first time I have been severely billed for minor medical treatment unduly. Not to mention, ever since I moved to this location, I've heard nothing but negative reviews of this network. I turn the cheek often, ignore what may be aggressive negative people giving bad reviews, but enough is enough, this is my warning to the community, do your homework, find a different network within your insurance parameters, drive further if you have too; so that when you do receive medical services you'll know that you are paying a more fair cost.

I don't know how I had such an amazing experience after reading some of these. I don't know what they had wrong but I do know me. I was there for the entire week.I have never been treated better. The staff, very caring kind, compassionate.and above all else always totally professional. My team of care givers from respiratory therapy were amazing through treatments.teaching techniques to make for after care easier.Guidance with many suggestions. My team of physicians came daily, made exams explained every matter at length, and follow up appointments for after care. The housekeepers came daily.mopped changed trash, freash linens, towels, gowns, check on personal toiletries, nothing left undone. The meals was just like hotel room service on call at your pace and your special needs if any. Always delivered promptly with caring smiling happy staff.always waiting to make sure you received everything.also if you forget to order a particular item that was ordered for you, they so ill ask if you're cancelling the order or did you leave it off accidently.wow.... There's absolutely nothing short of lacking in my stay.I cannot say enough about the staff here.Totally 100% off the chart. Keep up the good work. From one who was scared to even stop there because of the negative reviews,to one who's committed to this one for life. Again can't thank each of you enough.

Went to this hospital to get my child help . I got accused of child abuse and am now fighting with Dcs over false accusations. Will be choosing else where. Thank you for tearing my family apart and giving me fear of going to the emergency room .

This is for the Labor and delivery dept. Not going to speak on the others. But I WILL say...my sis and I both had bad ER experiences. The women's center and ob dr. Pippenger is THE best

I went to Riverview for a routine pap smear. I was declining extra tests as the doctor had his hand in my vagina and they were still run. After insurance, my bill came out to $500 for a pap. At the time I was a 23 year old, full time, unpaid medical intern and didn't have $500 for a routine annual test. I spoke with the financial department multiple times and multiple times was told that it was a misunderstanding and I didn't have to pay. Then A YEAR LATER I get a letter saying they had sent me to collections and my credit score had dropped. I will never go back to this hospital or any doctors affiliated with it.

My prenatal experience and care at the Womens Center/ OB/Gyn Riverview and Dr. Pippenger was stellar. Then my experience with Labor and delivery upstairs from them was even better. Excellent nurses and doctors!!!!!

This hospital lacks the most important part of a hospital. PATIENT CARE! When a patient is in pain and waits 20 minutes for a person to answer their call button. Then a minimum of 2 hours to get the pain medicine it makes one very upset. Personally I don't care if it is shift change, lunch break or whatever excuse. It is Not Acceptable! The main reason the staff is there is to take care of patients. Shouldn't they be tended to in a timely manner. Maybe it is training, maybe you need more nurses on staff. The staff is so tuned into computers, headsets that are shouting in their ears and there phone ringing that they can't concentrate on the patient they are suppose to be helping. Maybe I would act incompetent if I had all of this going on too. This hospital pre-surgery and recovery group is fabulous. Once you are taken to your room it is hideous. Wake up administrators, patient care and communication needs improved.

Brenda Hanley

I had to call 911 as I was experiencing horrid back spasms. Unfortunately I had to go to Riverview! I had had a negative experience prior but honestly I just wanted to be seen. Worst thing I could have done. I will NEVER go to the ER there again! The inpatient nurses are excellent but most of the ER staff needs to go! With all these complaints why is nothing changing????
