Why do we even have to fill out long patient forms when nobody looks at these??? I am a new patient, and Dr. Tam spent not more than 2 minutes with me. How can you know anything about my health after 2 minutes spent with me in the room? What have we become, just $$$ in the system? The doc was about to close the door for me, when I asked if I should do mammogram or MRI due to history of the cancer in my family. She was surprised. "Oh yeah, sure". Well doctor, it's your job to tell me this, not the other way around. Everyone is insisting on preventive care, but nobody actually cares. They just cared about my copay which was supposed to be $0 based on Affordable Care Act, but I "asked some additional question"(???) that was not related to preventive care - maybe mammogram. The doctor told the receptionist to make sure she charges me for the copay.

Dr Tam is very nice. She offered me music during my simple procedure. I have now had 3 appointments at this office (2 with Dr Tam and one with the RN) and every single time I have waited at least 45 min. 2 appointments we're on Saturdays and the other was midday on a weekday.

I sought out Dr. Tam in hopes of establishing my permanent care with a new caring gynecologist. I waited a month or 2 for a comprehensive check with her also seeking answers to some symptoms I've been struggling with for a while. The lady who took me back was super nice, but that was about it. My visit with Dr. Tam herself felt very rushed. She did not address a significant question/ concern. It was the same case at the checkout desk. After a few more attempts to receive some answers that were responded with me having to schedule another appointment, I called them out nicely for not addressing my concerns. The front desk girl was kind enough to be more receptive and check with Dr. Tam, but ultimately I was told to follow up again. They pushed a lot both the first time I scheduled the appointment and at the office to schedule with the other, new doctor or nurse practitioner. I will not be returning at all. I can certainly understand a busy schedule and don't mind waiting or paying if I'm actually going to receive quality care and time with the doctor, but this was not it.

Loved my first visit! The nurse practitioner actually read the paperwork I filled out in the waiting room, and she was knowledgeable about who I was and my medical info before we talked. I was very comfortable and everything was great. Refreshing for a new patient at an obgyn!

Dr. Tam creates a safe and welcoming environment for her patients. I was very apprehensive and Dr. Tam made the whole experience much more relaxing. In my first visit she discussed various birth control options that would be good for my needs. Within a few weeks she also inserted my IUD. She made the process as painless as possible and took procautions that other professionals don't provide. After receiving my IUD, I nearly passed out in the waiting room and her staff were quick to respond by bringing me to a room to lay down and providing ice packs and juice. I would absolutely recommend this office to anyone in need of a gynecologist who cares.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tam. I recently moved to Chicago and had to go through the process of finding a new gynocologyst. I was hesitant because of bad experiences but decided to give this office a try since it was close to my apartment. I needed to do my yearly Pap smear and she had weekend availability! After it was done, I felt comfortable enough to ask for an IUD. I came back a week later to get the implant. The process of getting the Copper IUD was seamless. The staff are all so lovely and the doctor had the best bedside manner I had ever experienced. She used local anesthetic to ensure I felt minimal pain, asked me what music I like and really talked me through the process. She’s is a rarity in the medical community. After she performed the implant I was nearly in tears because I was so thankful that this doctor was to professional and empathetic which is something I had never experienced to this level. She is amazing and I’m so happy that I’ve found a new gynecologist!

Dr. Tam was a bit rude to me. She also didn't take the time to talk to me or explain things fully. She seemed dismissive of my issues as paranoia and over-self-diagnosis (the test came back positive). Dr. Tam also neglected to mention important recent (though thoroughly vetted) research regarding my condition. This additional treatment improved medication efficacy by 50%.
