Being right out of college, I never thought much about going to the dermatologist. Good thing I made an appointment because Dr. Horton saw a worrisome mole and took right then and there at my appointment. She was quick and explained absolutely everything she did. Her staff is all warm and helpful. I highly recommend this office.

I recently had surgery done by Dr. Sharon Horton and it was absolutely the finest surgery that I’ve ever gone through of 18 different dermatology surgeries for skin cancer, of all three types of skin cancer, So she is one of the top doctor dermatologist in the entire area of northern Illinois and has received many awards as the top dermatologist including the last several years and also now in 2019. I recommend her to anyone needing expertise in surgery for skin cancer.

While I think DrHorton is a talented professional, I find it incredibly frustrating that she never has decent availability for her patients, while still taking new patients. She provided MOHS surgery several yrs ago for me. Long wait times but happy with the care received. But now whenever I try to setup annual skin checks I am told that these book 14 MONTHS out (at that time I was looking for something about 4-5 weeks away since my office would be closed and I had plenty of availability). Frustrated, I didn't book anthing at that call. Now, several weeks later, I give it one last shot (found out a coworker called to get an appt and she got in relatively quickly and they had offered her multiple times). I found that very odd. Upon calling I was told that if I HADN'T had history of skin cancer I could see her assistant relatively quickly, but since I DID have skin cancer...14 month wait time!! Seriously? Even my oncologist was surprised. I am now looking elsewhere. She is listed as accepting new patients, but clearly cannot accommodate those that she has actually treated for skin cancer. See her YELP reviews (including those that YELP always randomly "pushes down") to see similar frustration with excessive wait times. So unfortunate

Dr. Horton is the simple the best. Her biyearly body scans have always caught my skin cancers early enough to continue to save my life.
