We originally saw Dr. Brooks for my then 4 year old's eye issues, which Dr. Brooks said could be fixed with surgery. The surgery was a success and the doctor was great with my kid. Months later my now 5 year old is showing signs of needing a new prescription, which is to be expected. Calling to get an appointment was a real eye-opener.
We were told the nearest appointment was two months out, despite the struggles my kid is having. That extended time is because we missed an appointment 8 months ago, which was not missed but rescheduled although their records are not reflecting that. The receptionist was not polite nor empathetic, not that I need empathy but do expect politeness because that's just how people should treat others. The receptionist also informed me that I have to wait so long because they have the only doctors office for pediatric ophthalmology in the valley.
Unfortunately this is not the first time I've had issues with the scheduling at this office, but it will be the last time. I ran into a similar scenario scheduling follow-ups that were requested by the doctor from the original surgery. We were not treated well at all. The doctors are great but their office staff leave a lot to be desired. This is a a growing valley and there are other options available, which I'm already scheduled to visit.
