I had surgery on a bad case of hemorrhoids in the spring of 2015. Dr. Smith has great bedside manners and seems to be a good person. However, since my surgery, he has sent me to a specialist in Boise that basically told me that I had the sphincter of a toddler and another surgery would be necessary if my scar tissue didn't relax or stretch, or my sphincter return to that of a normal 44 year old. The specialist in Boise couldn't even get the tip of his pinky in to check the size of my sphincter without me damn near wanting to cry out loud in pain and sweating bullets. With that said and all joking aside (which this will seem funny and does sound funny), I now have bowel movements that of a toy Chihuahua, I bleed everyday from the feeling of constipation and my first bowel movement, I strain more than I ever have when having a bowel movement, and experience excruciating pain every bowel movement. I have since moved from Idaho Falls so the ability to go back and have anything done from him is not really possible. However, I would say in all honestly, I would like to have my hemorrhoids back or to have never had the surgery, then to have to deal with this for the rest of my life. He advised me that I would be much better off and that he has been doing this for 30 or so years (Don't quote, but it was a long time) - I trusted his judgement, but look where it has got me...
