I’ve called them and had to leave a call back number several times. Never once have they called me back even though they said they would. When I have gone in there’s also been bad communication on the doctor’s part, which led to me having to come back in again and pay the copay again for him to just tell me the exact same thing. Frustrating. I want to go somewhere else.

I should have read the reviews before I made an appointment with Idaho Falls Surgical Specialists. Everything that others have said are true. I was sent to them from my doctor for a certain evaluation but Dr. Smith decided he wanted to select an easier method for one procedure and a more complex for the other. I went forward with the easier one at first which eventually lead to being mis-diagnosed. After that I opted out of the complex one due to having no confidence in this facility's abilities. Don't even get me started on their billing dept... what a joke! Save yourself a major headache and stay away from this place. In the Idaho Falls area you have to hunt really hard to find quality care.

I had no complaints until today. I think they did fine with the surgery but I am really unhappy with their billing department. I had surgery in November 2018 and had many doctor visits prior to the surgery. Consequently, I had many bills. I suppose part of this could be my fault for not verifying that they actually sent me a statement or a bill of some kind during this period, but again, I thought that I was dealing with competent people. Apparently I was gravely mistaken. Today, March 11, 2019, I received a statement with no postmark on the envelope. The statement is dated Feb 26, 2019. It states that it is the final notice and that if I don't pay by 10 days from the statement date that I will be sent to collections. Well, I'm not great at math but it I think that now I am screwed because it has been well over 10 days. The biggest thing that ticks me off is that I have not received any prior statements to this final notice. I am astounded at the disaster that is their billing department. I have never been sent to collections and I always pay my bills, but it's pretty damn hard to do so when you never receive one.

First visit my husband was referred by his primary care physician and had a $250 consultation with the doctor. After the visit the receptionist then informed him that they messed up on the referral and that our insurance would not pay a dime of the visit. Was any kind of effort made to remedy this mistake? No. Then he was asked to come in for a second consultation because he wasn't confident in his diagnosis the first time and the time elapsed from the first consultation was too far away from the surgery date so he wanted to do another consultation that didn't even yield any greater confidence. Relying still that our primary care physician gave a good referral we went ahead with the surgery. Although it seems to have gone smoothly we 5 months down the road get an unpostmarked statement appear in our mailbox saying we are being sent to collections for unpaid balances. This was seriously their first statement. We had received lots of statements in the mail for this surgery from the hospital, other surgical centers that had to double check the diagnosis that he ordered and anesthesiologists and gastroenterologists and so forth. We had even met our max out of pocket for the year and paid every statement promptly that came to our door. Yet they deem it necessary without notice to send us to collections on the first statement since insurance has been settled. The envelope came without a postmark and 2 weeks after the statement date. The statement itself only allows 10 days after the statement for payment. Praying others will read the reviews before scheduling any consultation or surgery with this doctor. We failed to read these reviews and now after reading them finding we should have done more research.

Another typical snobby and greedy Dr.’s Office.. They charged my insurance almost 200 dollars and a 45 dollar copay to me just for me to come in so they can tell me they’ll charge me 1100 dollars for something. The doctor was a snob and seemed like he had anything better to do than see me.

I’ve had multiple surgeries with two of the Drs. The Drs were very clear about the procedures I needed. The billing department is very willing to work with you and accommodate to your financial situation as long as you talk to them and keep them in the loop. The clinical staff and receptionist were very friendly.
