While I was super impressed with PA-C Smith, who is a warm, caring person and an amazing, thorough, compassionate physician and the recipient of the stars that were given, his counterpart, Dr. Roberts, by all appearances, is the exact opposite and the reason there are stars missing. For over a year, I was seen by Dr. Smith every month. He always asked questions, always seemed concerned with my progress or failures, he even went so far as to do pretty extensive research into my conditions so he would have a better knowledge of what I was going through. Out of the blue, I receive a letter from Dr. Harris, whom I've never been seen by, saying that I expressed discontent with the clinic and because of this they would no longer be able to see me. Um....WHAT??!! No referral, no offer of assistance, no gap coverage for my meds, nothing. I have since found out that he did this with numerous other of their pain maintenance patients. Making up excuses as to why we were unworthy of their service, "firing" us and leaving us to fend for ourselves in a society that doesn't believe us, treats us like drug addicts or dealers and although we have documentation of our various illnesses, generally treats us like garbage. After being told by other physicians that what he did is patient abandonment, I have contacted an attorney. I have fought this stupid system for 5 years, jumping through their hoops, dancing when they told me to, and basically being a lap dog that is at their mercy. In Dr. Smith I had a great doctor, a great listener and a safe spot that I felt comfortable in. Dr. Harris destroyed that with no thought to what being without our medications would do to his clinics loyal patients. In closing I'll say this: Dr. Smith; amazing! I'm devastated to lose a doctor that actually cared. Dr. Roberts; disillusioned physician that should have retired years ago because he very obviously does not have any compassion or caring towards what he sees as expendable waste.
Taking you or your family here could potentially be a huge mistake. If he nonchalantly cut out so many of us because he could, he'll do it again.
