It's hard to know definitively because you get one shot at the surgery. My husband had a shattered thumb. He had seven screws and a plate put in. Then physical therapy. Within the year he took out all the metal hoping for better range of motion and less cold pain. It's been two years out he is about 1/3 of motion and still has pain. Gardner was professional and top rated. I think he did a great job in a small/complicated area.

Found Dr Garner very Gentle , understanding, friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend him to any one with knee problems. The staff in his office were very helpful and friendly also.
