Met with Dr Opunui today, was very helpful with my current medical condition. I was very happy to have his insight on my problem from a different perspective. I'm taking so much medication for this annoying condition so I'm willing to try something new. Hopefully the prescription he recommended will make a difference. Overall, he's a very caring doctor and I recommend him.

He is a very young doctor, doesn't have many patients. So it's easy to book an oppointment with him. I personally did not have a good experience with him. He started by asking me to tell him my medical conditions. As I did, he was taking notes on his computer. His phone rang a couple of times, so it's kind of interrupting. I feel like he doesn't really care what's really going on with me, without me telling him the whole story, he jumped to the conclusion and gave me labels by saying "I believe you have this and this..." when I asked him how he can tell, he said arrogantly "if you don't believe me, you can do the tests". He recommended me doing tests that are costly and not covered by insurance. I personally think he is not easy to approach. Though I know he is a local guy, I personally don't see any aloha spirit in him. Like I said, he is young, to me, he is also very ignorant of the patient's feelings, insensitive of what he was saying and very subjective. He even told me I have fertility issues because I just had a D&C! I wouldn't trust this doctor to help me keep a balance of body and mind as he claimed to. If you are looking for a naturopath doctor, I would recommend Dr. Alysa Nguyen.

Didn't feel comfortable. Doesn't have good bedside manner and I felt very patronized most of the session.

I had a great experience on my first visit to see Dr. Opunui. He gave me hope that I'll finally have answers to my health issues. He's very knowledgeable. And was very polite and informative. He explained to me how the process works to find out what's wrong then to get you better. He ordered a bunch of tests for me that I couldn't get any other doctor to even consider. I see him again in a month once he's received all my tests back. I'll update my review then.
