I think it all depends what you are expecting from a dermatologist. For us, the condition was met with a recommendation without any screening of the patient’s diet, lifestyle, or cleaning routine. We met with the dermatologist and he simply wanted to write a prescription for an antibiotic. That’s it? Treat the skin condition symptomatically? Antibiotics as a first line? This is 2019. My 2 star rating is based on the medical approach and not the excellent professionalism of the support staff. After a lot of our own research and some experimenting we were able to treat the condition with reasonably good success by simply DRINKING a lot of WATER regularly. The results were satisfactory and did not require any pharmaceuticals. A ramped up hydration routine had positive results within a week.

I was referred to this group, by my Woodstock Dermotolgist, especially Dr. J. Weiss, to consult for a 3 month hard mass on the left side of my face. I had experienced ER visits, multiple blood tests, CT and MRI and a 4 day hospital stay prior to this visit. Dr. Weiss examined me and brought in his team of Doctors who in minutes, knew exactly what caused my issue!! The cosmetic filler Voluma that another Dr. had injected in my cheeks 1 year ago, had gone rogue from some unknown catalyst. Dr Alia Brown, in this group, had seen this before and knew exactly what the treatment should be: hyaluronidase injections to liquifiy the Voluma and mass. I have now had that treatment and am on road to recovery!!!! All due to the vast expertise of this Team!!! I will be forever grateful to the vastly experienced Team of Doctors here, who are skilled, kind, committed, work together, and who have no Ego interference. Thank you!!

I have been going to Gwinnett dermatology for awhile now, and I really enjoy working with Courtney Davis. Evey office vist I have had has been fast, and responsive. The only reason i am leaving a three star review is because i have such a hard time getting in touch with anyone in the office over the phone. I’m constantly playing phone tag. Its Frustrating especially if a prescription is messed up for some reason. You have to leave several voice messages hoping someone will reach you. When they do return your call it’s never regarding a question or information you left a voice mail about. It’s a please call us back. I’ve also had some receptionist become rude during rescheduling an appointment or canceling one. I’m currently part time working and in school. It is hard for me to keep appointments at times because balancing school and work is so unpredictable at times. I’m basically scared to call to reschedule anything because it makes me feel like an inconvenience to do so. I’ve always appreciated the prices for self pay customer, and how much they consider finical struggle an issue like with medication. I have seen them try to hit me with a late pay charge when I wasn’t late which is aggravating. I understand if i were late; i have no problem paying the bill. I have also been late in the past and received a letter saying that it’s fine just show up on time next time (which seemed really nice at first), but in the office they said they sent me the wrong letter and made me pay it anyways. The Nurses and doctors are very kind, and the cleanliness of the hospital is appreciated. I just wish it was easier to reach someone over the phone.

I’ve been to this office several times and every time I come in my wait is really long (20 mins +) in the waiting room plus an additional wait time of 10-15mins in the room. What is the point of an appointment then if I need to wait this long?! The care is great but the level of urgency and customer service needs improvement.

I have been with Dr. Weiss for many years for an annual skin check visit. Last year (2017) when I went he found melanoma on my arm in a large dark brown freckle that had been on me for many years. I NEVER would have noticed that tiny black dot within the sea of brown. Because I went yearly it was still in situ...had not spread... and Dr. Mercer at Gwinnett Dermatology removed it surgically. I believe that Dr. Weiss with his careful, excellent diagnostic skills and Dr. Mercer...who is an excellent surgeon with great bedside manner... saved my life as unchecked melanoma is deadly. I will be forever a patient at Gwinnett Dermatology...but now it's every 6 months to keep an even closer check! I heartily recommend this practice.

The experience I’ve had with Gwinnett Dermatology so far has been exceptional. From the time I called to make an appointment through my second visit, where I had a procedure done, the entire staff has been professional, friendly, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. Can’t say enough about this practice. I was treated by Brittany Dupree, the nurse practitioner and she and her assistants were wonderful. I would recommend this practice to anyone for both medical and cosmetic needs. One thing that stands out here is that they are punctual and very appreciative of your time. You won’t have a 2:00pm appt and sit in chairs until 3:00pm before you are called back. My most recent appt was scheduled for 1:20pm. I checked in at 1:09pm. I was called back and was being seen in an exam room within 20 min.

I had to have surgery to remove Squamous cell carcinoma from my ear. The surgeon, Dr. Shaikh (M.D./M.P.H.), did an excellent job with this , carefully examining the margins after each procedure during the operation. It took about four procedures during this time after examining the results in the lab to determine that all the bad cells were removed. He then presented the options for me to consider for the post-op healing process. The one I selected was a skin graft from another area which would speed up the healing process, rather than extending it out for several months. He was meticulous in his measurements for the skin graft and the stitching process and the nurse provided all the follow-up information and answered my questions as well as calling me back the next morning to check on me. Superior work all around!

He was negligent and prescribed something that could have potentially cause harm to me if combined with the medication that I was taking. I informed the office of all medications prior to my visit. I called 3 times to notified them about the issue, I received one call back by some one who was completely clueless. I currently have stitches in my head that was supposed to be removed by the medical assistant who struggled with removing 3 stitches and did a partial job anyway. PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK !!! They must pay people to leave good reviews on here, but please look at all the bad reviews, and those reviews are geniune. I experienced the same issues as they did. I wish I would have read the bad reviews first before going to this place. The doctor acted insensitive, and careless about the questions I asked him. He also seemed in a hurry to get as many people on perscriptions to get them out fast. The place was extremely packed and everyone left quite quickly. They prescribe then want you out of there ASAP, and the doctor seems bothered by the questions because the doctor wants to make the max money out of the day rather than focus on the patient. Will be going to a different dermotologist that will attend me, where I won't be treated like a pest just because of a simple question.

I’ve been going to Gwinnett dermatology and specifically Dr. Sadler for more years than I would like to remember. I always find him to be extremely down to earth, takes time to explain all the procedures, and genuinely seems to care about me as a patient. I rarely have to wait very long to get in and appreciate in general the over all timeliness and respect for time that the office considers when booking it’s patients.

Could not have asked for better! We got started right on time and Dr. Wright and the staff were great! My GP (Dr. Jay Desai) id'd a basal cell just above my lip and referred me . The pain injections didn't hurt at all and neither did the procedure! It took three times for Dr. Wright to get all the cancer and there was a big hole in my lip. He worked hard on the reconstruction and assured me he preserved the hair follicles so my mustache will grow back. The staff even brought me coffee while I waited for lab results between sessions. I didn't have a dermatologist but now I do.

In my mind, once you visit one doctor's office that treats you bad, you imagine that they'll all treat you bad. I dont give 5 stars lightly, however, this business, the front desk staff, the doctor, even the check out staff blew my mind on how efficient they were.

I have been going to this group of doctors for over 15 years. I have never had a bad experience. They are tremendous doctors who really explain what it is they have found and the best way to treat the problem. The doctor assistants are equally good. Their questions save both me and the doctor time. Finally, the office staff and in particular the lady I "checked-out" with when my visit was complete is excellent. She willingly took several minutesof her to get me answers on a few administrative questions I had.

I visited this office for the first time today. Sade and Gabrielle very unprofessional. After waiting for 25 minutes passed my appointment time them they call while I was standing at the desk questioning them. They need to hire a professional staff. Instead they have children playing in what is supposed to be a professional environment. Once I was finally placed in an exam room the doctor comes in 10 minutes later. She was pleasant and quick. Was referred by my PCP for an abnormal mole. The staff was very kind and friendly, reassured me that everything was fine and were very quick at getting my results. I had a minimal wait time to be ushered into a treatment room. The triage nurse was very friendly and efficient with questions needed to be answered. When the Nurse Practitioner entered I was greeted warmly and her diagnosis proceeded quickly. A solution to my problem was discussed and I was out the door and checked out within 30 minutes total.

Dr. Shavin is arrogant and insufferable. He won't listen, he dismisses legitimacy health concerns, and flat out refuses to treat someone for psoriasis with anything other than Humaria. He didn't even ask about previous health problems, like infections, before automatically saying Humaria was needed. Dr. Weiss on the other hand it's quite nice. But I won't return to a place that allows someone as inept as Shavin to play with people's lives. ETA: I noticed that about a week ago the doctor's office changed their reply to this review and are now saying they cannot confirm I was a patient. Yet 6 months ago, not 2 hours after I posted this, they replied that they would reach out to me. And they did. Shavin sounded like he was chewing glass and did not apologize but conceded to treat with something other than Humaria. That wasn't the point and the hollow offer did not change this review.

My hair in the front of my head had come out. I tried everything to make it grow back. It started getting worse. I googled Gwinnett Dermatology in lawrenceville. I called and was told about how good Dr. Mercer was. She is only in Lawrenceville on Thursdays. I booked an appointment with her. The staff was friendly and professional. I went back into the room to see Dr. Mercer. She took a biopsy and pictures. She scheduled me to come back the following week. She told me I had CCCA which is Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia. She said it is a scaring alopecia primary seen in African American Women. She gave me a Corticosteroid shot where inflammation was. She prescribed me some shampoo spills and cream. She gave me a handout on how to use them. Dr. Mercer is a great knowledgeable doctor. My head does not itch or have sores in it anymore. Thank you Dr. Mercer job well done.

Nothing good to say at all about my visit nor Dr Mercer. As a first time patient nothing was addressed except for absolute humiliation when my paper top was pulled down unexpectedly by the dr as a person with ptsd from abuse that was already mentioned multiple times was the only time you touched me..not to check any of the actual reasons for my visit....nothing except for barely looking at multiple moles that have drastically changed and previous hx and family hx of cancer.. As a person in the medical field as well as for my dad being a Dr you only set yourself of for a lawsuit by telling me nope all are fine no way at all cancerous or precancerous...and to come back in a year....15 minutes in the back after a total of 2 plus hrs for money that my father paid with no receipt of what was done...complaints to all manager staff etc still nothing!
