Though the staff and Doctors are EXCELLENT at their jobs and professions. I am concerned about the quality continuing due to the comments about the constant change of Managers. From the chatter seems they are now on their 4th manager in three years due to micro managing. Perhaps the Mgmt. look inward before this constant change effects customer service.

Kim Higdem, Aesthetician, is knowledgeable, professional and achieves good results as she conducts Photo Dynamic Therapy treatment of pre cancerous skin lesions. Kim monitors the patient's reaction throughout the procedure to assure the highest possible comfort level. I highly recommend Kim and the entire Dermatology Center of Atlanta practice.

Dr. Gray is very passionate about skincare and continually updates the procedures and products available. I have gone to DCoA for sclerotherapy, laser hair removal, cool sculpting and cancer screening/skin treatment. My monthly indulgence is microdermabrasion in their Advanced Skincare Center. Their awesome esthetician, Kim Higdem, keeps my skin and my teenage daughter's skin looking better than ever!

I recently had a visit to remove skin tags/mole. When I went for the first appointment I was informed that the spot that I wanted removed was a skin tag and not a mole as well as not covered under insurance so it would cost me $80 which included the removal of 5 skin tags. I had other skin tags so thought that was reasonable and worth it to get the brown spot in the middle of my neck removed. I even talked to the nurse about it potentially being a scar and it looking worse than the brown spot itself because I had had a mole removed before and it made a scar. I even showed her the scar. She said not to worry because its a skin tag so I went through with the procedure. The nurse put band aids over the spots she treated therefore I didn't see until I got home that the original brown spot that I had come in for was still there. I immediately called back and asked what my options were. They said I could come back at no charge to have the other "skin tag" removed. I just went back this morning and when I was in room with the nurse that performed the procedure originally she looked at the spot and said she thought it might be a mole so had to ask the doctor to come look at it. The doctor looked at the brown spot and said its a mole. She also told me that removing a mole would cost me $120 since its not covered under insurance. I said I didn't want to remove it at this time but thank you for taking the time to look at it. I then went to the receptionist to check out and was informed of a charge. I was confused because this was supposed to be a free visit. They said I could speak with the doctor because it was up to her about the charge. We then went back to the patient room that I was in and she proceeded to tell me that once she (the doctor) stepped in the room it was no longer going to be a free visit. I explained to them at no point did the nurse tell me that if I have to get the doctor in here that it was going to no longer be a free visit. Mind you my original visit that cost me $80 was to look at the skin tag/mole and get it removed. I'm already a little upset that it didn't happen to begin with. I wouldn't have had to spend the $80 for the skin tags. I tried to plead my case to the doctor but she was not budging at all and even told me to Google the fact that its a law that as soon as any doctor walks into a patient room that they have to bill for it. I'm not familiar with those laws as I'm not a doctor nor go to the doctor on a regular basis so had no clue of this law. I paid the fee of $43 for the visit and walked out of there in tears. Now I've spent a total $123 for skin tags that didn't bother me and still have the brown spot/mole that I originally wanted removed but was informed it was a skin tag. I have attached a picture of the "mole" because I'm confused as to how this was missed when I was telling the nurse I wanted the brown spot in the middle of my neck removed whether it be a skin tag or mole. I obviously will not be returning to this office. I'm sure they have a lot of happy customers, I'm just not one of them. ***Update: The office manager called and apologized and sent me a refund check of $43 for the office visit that was suppose to be free.

Liu has visited four doctors over six weeks with no improvement regarding her swollen eyelid due to allergies. Following the instructions of Dr. Magee, the condition has significantly improved in the last two weeks. Suming W. Liu considers Dermatology Center of Atlanta is the best of all services of dermatology that she has visited.

I've been a patient of DCA and Dr. Gray's for many years - since my now 25 and 31 y/o kids were seeing her for acne. I've been seeing Scarlett for the past year - she found a basal cell CA on the back side of my right ear - how's that for thorough! Just went back for my annual check - she freezed off 3 scaly spots, said I was good to go for another year, unless I need her sooner. I couldn't be more pleased with the care I receive at DCA. They tried to get rediculous charges out of me under false pretenses! The custome care is not something we are used to in today's world! My very first visit to the Dermatology Center of Atlanta was kind of amazing. It is a lovely facility, and everyone I encountered was attentive, caring and extremely professional. My very first facial scan showed me both good and not so good things about my skin, I learned about products to improve what needs improving, and I received treatments that same visit that immediately enhanced my looks (and my outlook)! I'm not avoiding my reflection any more. It's a great feeling to have found people to help me with my skin that I am so confident in and comfortable with. I had a Halo treatment that cost a lot and did nearly nothing for me. I had hoped for smoother skin and a more even color. Not only did that not happen, but my discoloration is worse than ever! This may be because I contracted an awful staff infection called impetigo. I was covered in scabs! I’ve had other treatments at the Dermatology Center of Atlanta that all deserve 5 stars. This one however, was awful.

We had an appt today for my 7 year-old son, who has a mole with irregular borders and coloring. I’ve been worried and was looking forward to this appt and the hopeful relief it would bring. Our appt was at 1:50 and I knew I was going to be about 15 minutes late. I called them, the staff I spoke with asked Scarlett if she would see him, and they told us no. I find it hard to believe that an organization would be so unwilling to bend for an established patient with four family members. Apparently, the cosmetic side is making enough profit to justify not allowing a child with a potential medical issue to be seen a few minutes late. We called May River Dermatology and they got him in same day. We’re waiting now and I hope that we get some good news. It’s unfortunate that a practice I really loved was this inflexible, particularly in this situation. I’m really disappointed.

She is very professional, thorough, and puts you at ease with her cheery attitude and extensive knowledge. The whole time I have gone to Dr Gray the office staff was been worse than "snooty". Dr Gray (while still young) is not seeing patients, or so i was told by the receptionist and she tried to pawn me off on a PA. While would I drive an hour and a half to see a PA, when there are tons of them near me? Dr Gray was worth the drive, but between the snooty staff and the fact you cannot see a md now is not worth it. If Dr Gray was still seeing patients I did not mind the drive or the long wait time to get into to see her - she was wonderful

Waited over 50 minutes to see Lisa for a follow up appointment. I strongly believe that doctors offices who so poorly schedule clearly send a message to patients that their time is much more important than mine. Lisa was not knowledgeable of my auto immune disorder which is fairly common. Seems like this practice is mostly concerned with cosmetic procedures rather than patient care. If you need Botox or fillers go there. If you have something wrong with you go to someone who wants to take care of you. I’m done!

Well, after waiting in the waiting area for 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time with Dr. Magee, I couldn't wait any longer, so I had to leave. The receptionist offered to reschedule for me. I told her I would call in when I got to my car to do it. I called back from my car to reschedule but the next opening was a month away. When I explained the situation to the representative on the phone, her response was, I'm sorry sir, that's all I can do. I'm not a big fan of having "cancerous" cells growing on my body, so I reached out to Atlanta Center for Dermatological Diseases and have an appointment with Dr. Berman, who appears to be even more qualified than Dr. Magee, for this Tuesday Afternoon. Wow! My impression is that Derm Center of Atlanta Doesn't even know or care that they just lost a patient. Just some thoughts as you consider a Dermatologist for your next visit.

Dr. Gray is absolutely AMAZING! I'm so thrilled to have finally found a physcian so talented & gifted and loves what she does! I've been all over Atlanta getting botox & fillers for the past 8 yrs or so, & never completely satisfied. Either they (other drs/cosmetic & surgery ctrs) try to get you to do too much, or push whatever filler they are promoting, whether its the right product for you or not. I was given the perfect amount of filler exactly where my face needed. She is an artist. I also rec'd complimentry laser a few days after the filler to get rid of any bruising, which was minimal, but how awesome!! I've never rec'd that before. The entire staff, & her medical asst's are very professional & friendly. Renee in the laser center is amazing as well! Thank you Dr. Gray!

I'm a healthcare provider myself so I understand the ramifications of having someone post a negative review but this is my honest opinion. I did not feel that they were that concerned about me. It seemed like there were just trying to make as much money on me as they could. I explained that I did not have any health insurance and was charged over $400 for less than 15 minutes of the doctor's time and freezing 11 areas on me. When I reviewed the charges I saw that I was billed an exam code 99214 and should have been billed the lower fee code 99213. There are certain elements that are required to bill the higher exam code that were not met. I did not thoroughly review the charges until after I left the office which I should have. When I saw the inappropriate code that I was charged I called their office to express my concern but nobody addressed my concern. I was told that someone would get back to me but nobody ever did. Their record keeping was also not very accurate either. I had previously been told that I had a basal cell growth on my back but nobody ever took a picture of it to document the location of it. When I went back approximately a year and a half later they said they did not see it anymore. It makes me wonder if they were making that up or d if I ever even had that. Overall, I was not real happy with their lack of professionalism and genuine concern for me. I expected more from them and to this date, I am still awaiting a return phone call. I won't hold breath. If you do not have any insurance make sure you understand all the charges before you agree to let them perform procedures on you. I was only given a 10% discount for paying in full at the time of service. If you come to my office with neck or back pain and do not have insurance I provide a 50% discount. They could have done more than 10%

I have been going to Dermatology Center for many years, through at least two locations, maybe three. I have never been to a better doctor; from Dr. Gray to Dr. McGee, everyone is great. Dr. McGee discovered a growth on my ear, had it biopsied, and it came back benign. She indicated she was not comfortable with that finding, and asked if I'd mind getting another lab's opinion, which came back malignant, a Melanoma! It was removed successfully, and all is well. I read a review about their not caring at Dermatology Center; baloney! Dr. McGee certainly saved my ear, if not my life. Everyone at the office is very helpful, cheery, and efficient. I could not ask for a better place for medical care.

My experiences with doctors offices is usually mixed and often unsatisfying. However I went here for a problem other doctors weren't able to handle and found the staff was very helpful and kind. The doctor who saw me (Dr. Gray) took her time to make sure she handled my concerns while also taking measures to avoid unnecessary charges, especially since I didn't have insurance at the time. I don't think I've ever had a more positive experience at a doctors office, quite honestly. Highly recommended, but book in advance because they were extremely busy when I went and the doctors seem to stay pretty booked. If the office is reading these reviews, thanks again everyone!

The doctors here don't value your time. I had a 3PM appointment, I was there at their office at 2:50PM, I was walked inside at 3:30PM, I was seen by the doctor at 4:10PM. I was so so frustrated. When we go late, they cancel the appointment, when they are late, they are busy and we should just wait. Also, they try to sell some products. Beware! Absolutely hate this place. No wonder other reviews on here are similar to mine.

I am writing this review based on past experiences from 3 other dermatology offices. FYI I only changed doctors because of relocation. I needed a full body look over for skin cancer, called the practice and set up the appointment. The first available appointment was about a month after I called for a cancer screening check-up and it was with a NP. Based on the reviews and myself checking out the website I thought it would be worth the wait. Once off the phone I immediately went on the website and filled out the new patient paper work, this option was a plus. It was rather easy to do and user friendly. When I set up the appointment they did not mention to not wear make-up or nail polish, so I took it upon myself not to wear either because in the past I was told to follow these steps so that the doctor could have a good look at my whole body. My commute was around 50 minutes round trip. Once at the appointment of which I arrived on time I sat in the waiting room for about 20 minutes past my appointment time. When called into a room I verified my information with who I assumed was the CNA and waited for another 10 minutes-estimated. Once the NP entered the room with her assistant the visit was like a whirlwind. She was in and out so fast I didn't have time to ask her the questions I wanted to ask and she didnt ask if I had any concerns or questions. She didn't glance at my scalp, or look in between my fingers or toes like my other doctors have before. I basically was raising my arms for her to look at places and pointing as she was rushing through the exam. If I hadn't raised my arms I feel like she would have just bypassed my whole under arm and side area. As she was leaving literally with the door in her hand I was telling her about a place that looked suspicious on my inner thigh. She stepped back into the room and glanced at it and said not to worry. Normally NP's are extra personable and will stay long enough for you to ask questions and address any concerns. I feel like they undervalue yearly screenings and just cram us in, in between higher paying visits, this is based off of the length of time it took to get the appointment, the length of time spent before being seen by the NP, and the very short exam. I would like to say that the NP and other staff were very pleasant and friendly. The exam itself was not worth the drive, wait, and the uncertain feeling I have about my check-up.

Let me start by saying that I drive about an hour to go to Dermatology Center of Atlanta, the fact being is I couldn't find a Dermatologist around my area. I don't mind driving to get excellent care from Dr. Magee and her medical staff. The first time I went their Dr. Magee and her staff took their time and my skin issues were addressed and their were several office visits to complete my complex skin issues. Now my recent visit was when I had to get a mole removed she was so gentle and very calming. She even played my favorite kind of music to clam me down. My second recent visit was last week and she came in and we talked over what the plan was going to be to get rid of my nasty wart. Like every other time Dr. Magee listen and we both came up with the best medical plan to get rid of this nasty wart. She is a very sweet, caring and has a very calming attitude. Now onto the parking lot issue you guys need extra parking lot space. That is my only con about this place.

If you want o get Botox or Fillers Dr Gray is great. If you have any skin issues this is not the place. Hard to get appointments, I have been going there for 5 years due to Melanoma , there is a 5 year protocol, had to cancel a appointment in May 2018 due to my Mom being in Hospice, called they could not re-schedule me until August! Dr Magee decides to take a week off and they call me to re-schedule and what do you know they can give me another appointment the next week... yesterday I was 15 minutes late due to the traffic and was told they couldn't see me. There was no one in the waiting room.. I asked for my records and the first response was you have to go online... luckily the other receptionist said there was a form. Sad that this practice has become so difficult.

In all fairness, I found Dr. MaGee very pleasant with a great bedside manner; however, it seems like the office is always busy, as an next available appointment is months later, the phone nurse never returns your phone call, so if you have an urgent need, I wouldn't recommend this office. My recent experience was I had to call to ask about the name of the silicone tape that their own office sold. This could have been a quick conversation. Instead, I was asked to leave a message with the phone nurse who never returned my call. I called back the next day, the receptionist told me that Dr. MaGee was talking to a patient at that moment but will return my call in the next few minutes- never got a return. I called again today with frustration, only to be answered by the receptionist, who despite my explanation of frustration, didn't bother to extend an apology and then proceeded to tell me that I could not have been correct because Dr. MaGee wasn't working on the day that I was told she was. Seriously? Getting a name for the product that your doctor recommended should NOT take three days. It is unfortunate that the experience was irritating enough for me leave a review, which I never have done.

Dr. Magee removed a cyst for me and although it is a rather simple and quick process I was quite nervous about being cut on. Dr. Magee immediately picked up on the fact that I was a bit nervous and took the time to ensure that I understood everything that she was doing. Her mannerisms and calming voice helped me to relax. The process was over before I even realized it...it was quick and painless and she was extremely efficient. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone but especially to those who may be apprehensive about having a procedure done.

Mary Ellen is absolutely AMAZING!!! She does Botox and fillers. She takes such care in her work and is extremely precise. I have had Botox at at least 10 different clinics and centers in Atlanta. I haven’t always been super happy with my results at other places which is why I’ve tried so many. I will never go to anyone else from now on!! It definitely takes a certain skill set and eye to do injections that look amazing but also look natural- Mary Ellen is the best!! Cannot recommend her enough!!

I always have a good (Great!) experience at this Dermatology office. I have had head-toe cancer screenings, basal cell removal, cosmetic face procedures, skin evaluation using a Visia machine. Recently, with the wonderful Renee Sullivan, I had the Halo laser procedure on my neck. I like the doctors and the technicians and the assistants and the front desk staff. Furthermore, I trust their advice and follow it. What else can I say? The BEST in my experience and opinion. I love MaryEllen and I love Dr. Gray. This is a fabulous place.

Rude staff, they cancelled my appointment 2 hours before the appointment. I booked appointment 40 days prior. Then when I called back they gave me an option in the middle of the day when I had a meeting or wait another 45 days. I called in November to make an appointment to see Dr Gray, and was told I would need to wait until January for the first available time. When I received my reminder call, it was revealed that my appointment was actually made with a P.A. I don't necessarily have anything against seeing a well respected P.A. - I just don't like to wait for two months to find out I am not seeing the Dr I called to make an appointment to see. I should have been given the choice to make that decision. When I called to inquire about the mistake, the girl who took my call assured me that I must have not understood - that I was surely told I would be seeing the P.A., which is definitely not the case.

I can’t believe their insurance billing Dept. I thought I would go in person as I had a question about my bill. The insurance lady told me yes they had made a mistake. Instead of the approximate 50.00 bill, of which I had already paid over 100.00 on the day of the treatment, I now owed 250.00. She had not reported any of the visit charge on the bill I was mailed and she had miscalculated the rest of the bill. I asked her how or when would I have know about this mistake if I had not, on a whim, stopped by. Her answer was, well when you paid the wrong amount we would have figured it out. WHAT?!? This is unacceptable. I told her to mail me the correct bill then I will pay it but I will not be returning to this practice. Sad as I have gone here for several years but if this is their way of handling mistakes I can’t continue to always spend time checking behind them.

I would not recommend this place, I went here for years until I finally woke up and decided to look elsewhere. Every time I went in for something, it always resulted in at least 1 additional visit. I went in because I had splinters deep in my hand, the doctor barely did anything, and I still have wood embedded in my skin. Had to go in 2 times for dry skin and they tried to tell me it was cancer. This place is a ripoff, the doctors are salespeople, don't come here if you expect quality treatment.

Which I had no idea would kill my gut and make me unable to digest dairy or wheat and have many other long-term problems. 3. They are booked out 4 months for body scans which is way too far for me.
