I was referred here because they have a wide range of birth options, and was excited to finally find a practice I felt suited my needs. As I am not currently in the state, I have had a hard time finding care beginning before I am 20 weeks pregnant - most places want to begin care before then, which I have been frantically searching for. Jule informed me that they were refusing me care (over what I believe was a misunderstanding), refused to answer my question as to why, left me frustrated and crying, and hung up on me. I am in complete disbelief that I was treated this way. At least I found this out before trusting them with the birth of my child!

Great location!! Went today for my annual check up and everyone was so sweet and informative.. I became sick after a exam and the staff was very helpful in making me feel better until I was able to drive .. Ms Duncan was very sweet and knowledgeable and I definitely will recommend to my fiends and this will be my new doctor

***Updated review, so I wrote my first review on my second or third visit. Now having been through my whole pregnancy and had my baby with them, I honestly still LOVE the midwives, especially Sabrina who is hands down the best medical professional I've ever dealt with, so down to earth, knowledgeable and helpful. She really made me feel like she genuinely cares and I felt at home. Also Valerie who is very culturally accepting and understood my husband not chatting it up with her because we're Muslim and the men are not supposed to mingle with women and try to have modesty. She noticed how he was behaving and actually asked a question and acknowledged that different cultures have different etiquettes which I really appreciated and she is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. I also liked and appreciated the help and kindness of most of the nurses/medical techs. However, the doctors, were just...meh. Now I only met Dr. Entrekin, Dr. Duncan and Dr. Mandeville and the visits with each were okay except for Dr. Mandeville who was sweet at first when I met her for the first time when I was in labor, but ultimately showed herself to be prejudice to cultures other than her own. She was very rude at my last visit and I guess called herself calling my husband out as being rude and not participating in our conversation and pretty much attempted to kick him out of the room. She also made a sarcastic comment about my face veil right after my c-section when I put it on to be wheeled back to my room from the OR which was very insensitive and rude. Medically she did her job well though besides running out every time I got nauseous because "she doesn't do vomit" which I've never experienced from a medical professional but hey she's human so not a big deal. Ultimately I won't be going back although I would go just for Sabrina but I won't be able to be delivered by a midwife at their practice so if you've had 2 or more c-sections I say avoid this place but if you can see a midwife ask for Sabrina or Valerie (and I hear Julia is pretty wonderful but never met her either) they're really great!*Edit: Dixie did most of the leg work as far as my labor goes and she was wonderful

Writing this on behalf of my wife. She likes her doctor, but had a very frustrating experience with the office staff trying to get prescriptions sorted out when her insurance provider changed rules. They sent info to incorrect pharmacies... twice. One of them was a pharmacy we had never even given them. Told us the provider wouldn't cover the drug when all they needed was 90 day supply instead of 30. Had an unnecessary office visit when a call-in should have worked. All in all, getting her BCP sent to a new pharmacy took two weeks of wrestling when it should have taken less than a day. Doctors: you lost a customer because your support staff let you down.

Staff is amazing until you need something they don't feel like doing.

I have been going to this Obgyn for years and every visit seems to get worse and worse. All the nurses seem to have an attitude with anything and the fail to give full information about anything. I had an appointment and called and left multiple messages and 20 mins before my appointment they called telling me I would have to pay for a missed appointment. I even went in for a std screening and the doctor was guessing everything and when the nurse called with my results she gave vague diagnosis and got mad when I asked her for clarification. I’m definitely finding another gynecologist.

I recently had my initial visit with Dr. Kristin Oates. I was impressed with every member of the staff I interacted with from the front desk to Dr. Oates. Their warmth and their empathy for the patient experience made me feel very comfortable. Two details: the phlebotomist who did my weight/height and pricked my finger mentioned that she tries to keep the experience as painless as possible. And as I was brought into the exam room, the nurse mentioned that they try not to leave patients waiting in gowns very long. Waiting in a drafty gown is no one's favorite. And true to their word it was just a few minutes before I saw the doctor. Each comment was a very thoughtful detail...just acknowledging what the patient experience is like. For the staff who work there everyday to be able to see each patient as an individual rather than a "routine" is impressive. I look forward to my next appointment.

I'm very sad annoyed frustrated. I had my deliver with them which was excellent the midwife. But the treatment of some is very bad, they are very rude, but some are the best on the planet. My reason why I am so upset is that since I arrived, I said that I wanted to do my sterilization. I have the medicaid and they have me to signed a document nobody tool me or give me the document and now i can't because i have to pay full price. The only thing i recibe was a im sorry. Dont committed the same mistake i have. (Sorry mi english is bad) Estoy bien triste molesta frustrada.

Great first visit, wait wasn’t too long with appointment and Dixie was wonderful! She made me feel very comfortable speaking with her and during the exam as well.

Angie Tavarez

Worst place to go low costumer service and they have a attitude I went with a emergency of a miscarriage and they literally make me wait forever . I don't recommend .

Gabrielle Williams

i have been going here for over 10 years, and i have never had any issue what so ever.

So we had our baby with them and they were incredible. Dr. Bonk was a rock star. Just recently, 3 years later, we had one of the hard experiences related to trying to have a child, and the staff was UNBELIEVABLE! They were kind, loving, honest, and knowledgable. They hugged us and cried with us, all while continuing to guide us. They quickly scheduled an appt at Dekalb Memorial and the staff there was amazing too. We were cared for by angels in both places. Grateful for all of the staff who helped us.

I was very excited to start a new journey with these women because they had doctors that deal with high risk pregnancies and also encourage natural births with their midwives. Also I had a lot of people tell me personally how great they were and that they had their babies delivered by these women. Well, I will never get to experience that because they denied me as a patient today and stated "I wasn't a good fit for them." When asked why they said they couldn't give that information and it was at the doctors discretion. I was truly hurt because I am in need of a high risk doctor as I just found out I have fibroids after my sonogram was done and was hoping to get my process. Not sure what kind of patients they are looking for but I guess it's not ones with fibroids smh. Back on the hunt again.

I've been with this practice for almost 15 years, and I've been pretty unhappy for awhile now. The majority of the time it is impossible to get a prescription refill in a timely manner. You have to leave a message and you may or may not hear back. I called for some anti-nausea meds for pregnancy and it literally took them four business days (six days total!!!) and at least three messages to get the correct drug and dosage called in. I am halfway through a pregnancy and not once have I felt like they really cared about me as a patient. I recently switched practices and am so much happier with the staff, the thoroughness of the midwife, and the overall feeling of my new OB's office.

Chaquita Darden

My first visit with Dr Mandeville today. She’s very passionate and thorough, and very willing to help and resolve any concerns. I would definitely come back to see her. The staff was also very personable. I was really impressed with the wait time (not long at all). First impression was an “A”, keep up the great work everyone

Randi Wilson

Had a great first visit today! Incredibly friendly and professional staff, with a handsome waiting room and quality facility in back. I saw Dr. Duncan who is newer to the clinic, and she was warm, knowledgeable and efficient. The front desk even made copies of their primary care recommendations folder for me since I’m new to the area! Oh, and they even had WiFi!

I went for a new patient visit this week I have to say I wasn't to happy with the customer service the staff provided. The midwife was great she made up from the not so great customer service I received.

I took a chance on this place due to just moving here and it was close to my apartment. The reviews weren't awful but they weren't the best. I regret stepping foot in this building. The receptionist was fairly rude, the nurses were rude too. The only good thing was Dr. Oats, she was actually nice and seemed to care. I went in for annual and a UTI test, it took over a week for me to get a result back for my UTI when I was told it would take 48-72 hours, but my blood work came back the day after my appointment. I highly recommend not going here, your better off just hoping whatever problem you have goes away.

Baranda Hagen

Dr. Duncan listens to you. She is knowledgeable about the latest treatments and your personal medical history. She understands how other health issues might affect you in regard to her practice. Most of all she is compassionate and takes time to make sure you understand all your options.

W Altine

Never had to wait for less than an hour. The doctor ignored my request for a procedure to be done on an adjustable table because of my tilted uterus. Too big and with too many patients to give any one decent care.

I am only giving this practice 2 stars for the midwives. The midwives at this practice are very caring and nice. The horrible customer service that the office provides just does not make up for anything therefore during the middle of my second pregnancy I decided to cut ties with them. In particular one woman Joanne is very condescending and has a horrible attitude. When I tried to report my bad experience with the office manager Rita, she just made different excuses to justify Joanne's actions. I'm sure they don't care about losing one patient but the stress that this practice causes me during my pregnancy is just not healthy for me or my baby.

Andrea Morgan

I have had excellent experiences with this practice over the last 5 years, including regular Gyn care, pregnancy, delivery, postpartum care (including at least one mastitis visit), and even a pregnancy loss. The care was good a few years ago but with the addition of the new midwives is now 5 star. Every caretaker has reviewed my file and knows my story and the staff is always so kind. Great practice for a woman seeking a variety of birth options (i.e. I delivered at 41 weeks + 3 days with almost no medical intervention despite a 32 hr labor, per my preferences) but medically sound and competent care. The midwives in particular are excellent, but the doctors are great too.

Laurie Imes

When my insurance changes from Kaiser, these have been my go to folks. I guess I keep going back because I forget how rude and cold the atmosphere and people. Dr. Bonk was I surgery, so I agreed to see Lisette. She did not ask me one question about ME or any health concerns. She was in a such a hurry. No medical history questions, no do I have any concerns. No questions about sexual health or menopause concerns. Nothing! The rest of the staff was the same. The urine same door was full of other patients cups and I had to move those around myself. Ugh.

Great experience with Dr. Bonk! My initial visit was an hour where we discussed EVERYTHING from past medical history to whether or not we were going to try to conveive, birth control options, etc.! Great bedside manner and very caring!

Cinnamon Smith

I went to this facility in February, and I am still paying fees. I do not understand why I am continuing to pay all this money. Over $300 for this visit, and I have insurance.

Help me understand why this place gets great ratings. We were 6 minutes late coming from the ER still in obvious pain. While there was no one int the waiting room, we were told that we couldn't be seen and we had to reschedule. The next appointmentt given was in 2 weeks. While we were driving away, we received a call saying that we could come in on Monday but call the check for cancellations. Low and behold there was a cancellation but we were told that the DR couldn't see us because the schedule was tight and insisted that we keep the schedule on Monday. Thanks but no thanks. We will take our business to someone who cares about thier patients well in this case a potential patient.

*** from wife Marsha Lee*** I have nothing but amazing things to say about this staff. As a women who didn't plan on having any children I was beyond petrified when I found out that my birth control failed and I was pregnant. Not only was I pregnant but I was sick constantly during my entire pregnancy. During the last trimester I had preeclampsia and had appointments every Monday and Thursday to do ultrasounds to ensure my baby girl was healthy. At this point I felt like I become family with the staff since I was there 2 times a week. Joanne and Rita were always smiling when I came in. My insurance only covered a percentage of the ultrasound so I had to pay $135 twice a week out of pocket which was impossible since I was on bed rest and could not work. I expressed my concerns with midwives Kia and Valerie and let them know that financially I could not afford to do what the doctors were recommending. To make a long story short the doctors and staff have weekly meetings and during the meeting after speaking with Valeria and Kia they decided that they would waive the remainder of my ultrasound fees and do the services pro bono as they would like to ensure that I had a healthy and safe delivery. I remember crying in the office that day as I never received such an amazing gift from a group of strangers. After having Madison I was in the hospital for five days. Every single day, including the day that I delivered my daughter someone from the staff came to visit me and check on me. A couple weeks after having my daughter I went for a follow up and all of the nurses were upset with me because I did not bring my baby so they could meet them. Of course I had to make a special visit back. Honestly I would prefer to come here then to come to my primary care physician. Dr. Oats... you are an amazing woman and I just want to make sure you know that! Lizette thanks for everything! Everyone from the Atlanta Gynecology and Obstetrics family I just want to say thank you!

I have had a great experience with Atlanta Gyno. I love the fact that they have midwives who help with care of the whole person. They are not only concerned about the physical person, but the emotional person as well. From day one Valerie has been an amazing midwife. I knew as soon as I met her, that I wanted her to deliver our baby. Dr. Oates was awesome in her care for me as she ended up having to give me a C-Section so I had both of them by my side in the process. A pregnancy after a miscarrage can be a scary thing, but they helped the process with their positive attitudes, love, hugs and smiles. They also were able to tell me the truth and let me know what to expect up front. The nurses and assistants were great as well. Debra and Linda, I can't remember all the names. I never met someone who had so much fun taking my blood and actually convinced me that it was a fun process! My whole experience was made better by just having pleasant women to deal with. I almost forgot, Dixie was apart of the process as well. She was genuine and kind. Professional yet down to earth. I will forever be connected to Atlanta Gyno!

Been with the practice for over 20 years, will not go anywhere else for gynecology needs...Enough said

First visit with Dr. Bonk and the last. I had been with same gynecologist for 15 years and when my insurance changed I researched for a new one within my network. Based on the reviews, Dr. Bonk seemed like a good fit, so I transferred my records. When she came into the room, she didn't smile, and introduced herself quickly. She told me she " didn't have time to read my bible of a record, and would get to it later". Then she rushed through some questions about my past medical history and medications, and when it was time for the exam, asked the nurse to give her "the scraper". REALLY?? How unprofessional, I'm pretty sure whatever tool you are using for gynecological exams is not called a SCRAPER. She finished the exam and hurried me on my way, still no smile. There is more, but I believe this is enough information on her unprofessional-ism. I found her bedside manner to be very cold and off-putting. I don't think she even read my records, and honestly I don't care because I won't be returning. On the positive side, the front desk was very nice as well as the nurses.

Evelyn Brown

I have enjoyed many years of great service, Dr Bonk has been my Gyn doctor for over 15 years and I have trusted her with all of my female health issues and concerns; I have never been disappointed. I am somewhat surprised at some of the negative reviews. I agree some of the receptionist can be a little rude, the issue is not new.

Tawana Arnold

I love my Dr.,staff and they are very friendly and have always seen me in a timely manner I love this office.

I don't know why people are so negative about this place. My mother had been going here since Dr. Arzu was here in the 80's and the staff has always been Professional friendly. I go here and I love this place. Keep up the great work!!!

Hope B.

I have been with Atlanta Gyn & Ob for about 9 yrs now...and I wanted to put up a review, mainly because of all the bad ones I've read lately. This place is probably the smoothest experience thus far, in my opinion, than most doctors I've had. I had Dr. Jennifer for my first delivery, I didn't find her to be rude, or have horrible "bedside manner" I'm not even sure what that means. I was 21, scared about my first baby and she was pretty nice to me. She's no longer there, so it's not like anybody is gonna be bothered by her now... Anywho! I have been there a lot recently (because I'm on baby #2 and have regular visits)and I love the staff, most have great personalities , so if you're the sensitive type....you'd think anyone was rude. To someone with a sense of humor: they're a scream. lol. I was originally referred to this office by my neighbor (and nurse) who worked at Dekalb Medical for eons. She had nothing but nice things to say about Dr. Bonk. I love Julia Smookler, very warm and personable! She's been my main midwife through my second pregnancy. I have had all three ladies though, and they're great! Not a bad experience from this lady (and right now, I am 3 days past my due date, miserably pregnant and still saying this!)

Sarah B

I had a terrible experience here with my first pregnancy. I called to schedule my first ultrasound for 8-10 weeks and was told to come in from a “confirmation of pregnancy”. They charge a $230.00 fee for the visit alone (in network) plus the usual test fees. They do not tell you this. I received a sheet with information dated 2009, the emergency line, and about 3 minutes with a midwife. 2 weeks later I needed to use the emergency line, waited the amount of time they said they’d call back by, and never received a call back. Instead of continuing to wait, I had to call the office and request an ultrasound because I believed I was miscarrying, which in fact I was. The bedside manner from the ultrasound tech to the nurse was so cold and lacked compassion. I left the office thinking that was all I would experience, with no idea what I might go through the next few days. What was already horrible was made worse by this office. The only person in that office who seemed to care at all was the woman taking my blood at the end of the visit. I am at a different doctor for my second pregnancy and after seeing the difference in care between the two places, I felt it important to tell other woman to keep looking.

Nicole LeBeau Fomin

Dr. Kristen Oates with Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics is fabulous! I've been under her care for over three years. I've had regular annual visits with her, surgery, and obstetrical care as well. She has always been kind, informative, and professional. I would recommend Atlanta Gynecology & Obstetrics to any woman looking for an OB/Gyn.

Maegan Zboran

I gave birth to my son about 8 months ago but life got away and I forgot to leave a review! I switched over to this office in the middle of my first trimester and was sure glad I did. I enjoyed all of the doctors that I saw and had no issues whatsoever. My favorite doctor was probably Dr. Oats. She was the on call doctor the day my water broke and was absolutely wonderful. BUT I have to say... Dixie was amazing. She was sweet and gentle and discussed with me what my options were and didn’t pressure me or rush me into any huge decisions, as did Dr. Oats. Dixie was the one who delivered my baby and I can’t thank her enough for the way she handled everything and how sweet she was. Wish I hadn’t of moved so that I could continue to see her!

Rachel Gundaker

I never write reviews. ever. i hate review writers, generally. But this is for womankind, dude. I've been a patient here since I was a teenager (currently in mid twenties). It was fine for just run of the mill annuals. But if you have a question, don't expect an answer. I just got off the phone with Nurse Eleanor who was insanely rude to me, legit acting like I ruined her day with my question. Yeah, maybe she was having a bad day...but I've had numerous other nurses here also be equally as rude. In 2015 for my yearly check up I asked for a full STD screening, to which the intake nurse said "but you've been in a relationship for months, why do you need a test." Excuse me? Why is that your business? It's not. If you're cool with that atmosphere maybe this is the place for you. But if you value your dignity and want your healthcare professionals to treat you with respect I would say look elsewhere.

Ashiel Israel

Pretty decent first experience. I didn't have to wait long. I only visit for annual checkups so I won't be seeing them a lot lol.

Darlaina White

The best Gyn appointment that I ever had. Staff was friendly, professional and efficient. Dr. Oates was attentive and genuine. Very excited to have found them.
