I visited this location twice last year and the staff was amazing. They were attentive and thorough. The facility was very clean as well. My only problem is I am still dealing with billing issues. Based on what my insurance has advised me the paper work submitted was not complete. So 8 months later I am receiving a bill for services that should have been paid months ago but because someone did not properly file the claim now I am stuck going back and forth. My insurance will gladly pay once the paperwork is submitted correctly. I will not recommend this location because of the headache that may follow.

I have had to go in and be seen twice in the last two months. It's been a rough spring for us in terms of sickness in my household, but AFC helped us out! I have Blue Cross Blue Shield, my co pay was $20. There were 3 people in front of me, I was called back to a room fourth in line as expected! Took my vitals sent me to a room. Based on my symptoms my first go around they sent someone in to go ahead and do a strep and flu test. When the doctor came in she already had the results (which were positive for the flu :( ) and was able to get me on my way out faster to go get meds which were being called in. On the second go around, approx a month later. I had an extremely bad constant cough. Doctor came in, did all the doctor things and said it looks and sounds like Bronchitis which I suspected based on my symptoms. Called in scripts. Went to pick them up, however one of the medications had just been put on recall. The pharmacist and the doctor spoke and got that changed around quickly so I could be on my way. 3 days later, my cough isn't as bad, still a bit under the weather but at least my chest isn't tight and I do not feel like a am dying anymore! Anyways all of this to say I would totally recommend them and would go back!

Today was the worst experience I've ever had in any healthcare facility! The staff is courteous and very nice. However, waiting in a treatment room for over an hour to be seen and continuously being told "the doctor's on the way" doesn't stack up to anyone's standards. And it was scheduled by the VA.

My son and I went in because we were having flu symptoms. They had just opened for the day, so there wasn’t really anyone in there yet. We got called back quickly, and Doctor Ezenwa was so kind and friendly and really put my eleven year old son at ease. They must have wished us well a thousand times as we were leaving. Diagnosis and medications were explained very well, and our questions were answered thoroughly by all.

It's genuinely a great care facility, the staff is very friendly and great. The facility is clean and very nice. The only major problem I have with the place is that it takes forever to be seen by the doctor. The time from checking in to getting into an exam room is relatively short, but on both occasions that I've come I've had to wait nearly two hours to be seen by the doctor which is definitely problematic for an urgent care facility. Other than having to wait around for hours to be seen, the place is pretty great.

Was actually referred to come here by my mom, and you don’t find many clinics that have utterly kind-hearted people. Was ever so kindly greeted by a lady at the front desk yesterday, and even cut up with her, which lightened the mood prior to my doctor visit. Shortly after, I was kindly greeted by a nurse at the door and also cut up with her as she was checking my vitals. To top it all off, the doc came in and was the most kind-hearted and optimistic doc I’ve ever been seen by. He assured me that he’d get my sickness taken care of as a kind gesture, and he sure enough did. Such a KIND-HEARTED staff! Very pleased. Will be coming here for good!

The first time I visited was wonderful however when i visited today i just wasn’t feeling well at all, the nurse was exceptional and let us know the wait would be longer than expected, we waited two hours for the doctor to walk in, shove the light in my ears, then in my nose leaving the wax in my nose (I’m severely congested) then when we questioned the blood work he informed us he went to medical school and that we clearly know better than him and slammed the door on his way out. I will be returning, but not during Dr. Barrettes shift.

Dr. Jenkins was friendly, listened to me, and made me feel welcomed to the facility (this was my first visit and I was looking for a new primary care doctor after moving to Columbus). He resolved all issues I had and did not act like I was an inconvenience nor was I rushed. I was seen in a timely manner as well. He appears and acts experienced, although I did not ask for credentials. I am a nurse at a hospital and am used to working around quite a few physicians; I can say without hesitation that Dr. Jenkins has a great bedside manner. I will definitely be making Dr. Jenkins my new primary care doctor. The rest of the staff were excellent too, from front staff to nurses and everyone else I interacted. A true 5 star facility. There are a lot of other great reviews on here, but always keep in mind that no doctor or nurse can make EVERY patient happy and that people rarely go to the work of posting positive experiences online but are extremely quick to make a negative review. With that in mind, the outstanding reviews for Dr. Jenkins and AMC are all the more impressive.

went in with sore throat, $175 covered exam, steroid shot, strep cultures...they got me in and out quick, and the place was cleeean. i dont remember her name but the nurse practitioner i saw was great, as was whoever took my vitals. um, will definitely go there again when i feel sick.

First experience I had with them I waited in the room for over an hour. I walked out and was told by the nurse who was very surprised that I was still there that the doctor had gone to lunch. I didn't want to leave a bad review, I didn't even want my $15 back I just wanted to leave and never return to that place. So that's what I did. One Sunday I had two choices the emergency room and here because of nothing being open. I had the worst migraine of my life and I begrudgingly only by demand of my husband went here. I was seen with good time and the doctor was super nice. So it seems the experience before was just a fluke. Cool. I was given a referral to see a Neurologist and sent on my way. I was told to wait a couple days and the office of the Neurologist would contact me. I waited and waited wasn't hearing anything so I called the Neurologist's office and was told they never got a referral from this clinic and they aren't even accepting new patients. I then went back to the clinic to talk to a manager. She was not in. I called the next day and was told she wouldn't be in until 4pm. So I went in that day at 4 o'clock and was told that she was not there. I called the next day; asked to talk to a manager and instead I was transferred to 3 different people and quizzed each time as to why I wanted to talk to a manager. Finally got told that they were making a new referral with a different doctor. I was told they would call me back within 30 minutes. I never heard from them again until a week later. This time it actually was the manager who called. She turned around and asked me if I found a Neurologist. Uh no that was on them but I told her I was going to a new clinic and I would find one on my own. She then proceeded to basically beg to be given yet ANOTHER chance and I said they could find one but I wasn't holding my breathe and I would still be looking on my own. She said she was going to get it done personally and I would hear back within the next day. It is now A WEEK LATER and I have not heard anything. I didn't want to leave a bad review because I know from working in the service industry the impact of a bad review. But this is ridiculous in every way. No one should go there. The doctor was great and the nurse was great, which is a shame. I hope they go else where for employment because with the staff they have otherwise will continue to drive patients away.

Visitd early morning on a weekday with only one person in front of me... wait was still 3 hours... Staff was nice, however it was too cold and Dr. couldn’t figure out a diagnosis and just referred to PCP. Not worth the hassle and waste of my time. Won’t be going back.

We spent four hours here. Four. It gets better, but we'll come back to that. When we arrived, we checked in with nothing but a glance from the lady behind the counter. After waiting an hour and half to be called, we begin to notice others filling out paperwork. We asked about it and got an "oops" as they gave it to us. After filling out the paperwork, we sat for another hour until we asked where we were in line. (Keep in mind nobody gave us any compensation for not getting us the paperwork, moving us any further ahead in line.) Finally, we went back. The nurses and doctors were friendly enough. They did a blood and flu test (no strep), and we sat for another hour. I'm diagnosed with Walking Pneumonia. Fast forward to next day, and I still feel absolutely horrible. We went to an actual doctor. They ran strep and flu. Turn out I have the B strain of the flue! Even better, the doctor said you can't diagnose pneumonia from a blood test. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. Make an actual appointment or find another acute care.

We spent four hours here. Four. It gets better, but we'll come back to that. When we arrived, we checked in with nothing but a glance from the lady behind the counter. After waiting an hour and half to be called, we begin to notice others filling out paperwork. We asked about it and got an "oops" as they gave it to us. After filling out the paperwork, we sat for another hour until we asked where we were in line. (Keep in mind nobody gave us any compensation for not getting us the paperwork, moving us any further ahead in line.) Finally, we went back. The nurses and doctors were friendly enough. They did a blood and flu test (no strep), and we sat for another hour. I'm diagnosed with Walking Pneumonia. Fast forward to next day, and I still feel absolutely horrible. We went to an actual doctor. They ran strep and flu. Turn out I have the B strain of the flue! Even better, the doctor said you can't diagnose pneumonia from a blood test. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. Make an actual appointment or find another acute care.

Yes I appreciate everything that the staff done. I felt so welcomed and everyone knew what they were doing. I will definitely be back and I have already recommended people to you all. They told me exactly what was wrong with my shoulder gave me meds and then the next day they called and checked to see how I was feeling and made sure I was wearing my sling and taking my meds and see how my pain was. The lady who called even told me I could go to Walmart about purchasing a cushion for my neck if it aggravates me. I love this place and this is where I will be going for now on. I took my son to AFC on New Years Day after having a not so great experience at another urgent care. I have to say this is where we will be going from now on. They did not open until 8 but they opened the door at ten till. The front desk staff was so friendly and the waiting area was roomy and clean. I was only charged my PCP copay which was a pleasant surprise. We only sat in the waiting room five minutes tops. We were taken back to a room by staff that was also super friendly and concerned for my son. We did sit in the room for a few minutes but that is because Dr Jenkins was actually treating his patients and not sending them out like cattle. Dr Jenkins came in and promptly began asking questions and checking my son. They did blood work on site and was able to send us home with prescriptions and hope that he would get better! I strongly recommend going here.

However after being seen twice within a 2 week period of being sick and nothing was working the only thing the doctor did was listen to my lungs and prescribed me medication. Well still did not get better , so I decided to go to another urgent care and was sent to have a chest X-ray done and was advised I had bronchitis and pneumonia the whole time. If the doctor would have done a extensive exam he would have caught this sooner and put me on the correct medications.

I was there for two hours during my last visit due to a lack of communication between the doctor who seemed to not want to do her job and the nurse who was also irritated with the doctor not telling her what to do and leaving me waiting in the room for an hour. Got a prescription filled and was told that I could just call to get it refilled since it’s for something incurable, but when I called they wanted me to come in to see the doctor again for the prescription. Will not be going back there again since they just want to take your money to see a doctor when you don’t need to see one.

My 4 year old son just started school and started experiencing sores on him starting on the back of his head and he had some on his legs within a matter of 3 days. I went to this facility due to the good experience I had with Dr. Jenkins 4 months ago.. However, my son was seen by DR. DARBOUZE. He was not concerned at all. First of all, we were in this clinic from 11:30 am until a little after 3 pm for absolutely nothing. Waste of time and money. I was told that the sores could have been insect bites, burn marks or trauma. Dr. Darbouze did not have a CLUE what is was and was not concerned to find out. He kept shrugging which gave me the impression that he didn’t know or didn’t care or perhaps both. I was in tears because he was literally guessing. He was very non chalant and did not care to understand that the sores were spreading. Which definitely does not indicate BURN MARKS, insect bites or trauma!!!! I had to call my mom who literally begged this man to do a swab test. The sores were leaking fluid and crusting over into a yellow-like crust. He said it was not bacteria and didn’t prescribe anything or give instruction on what to do about them. All he kept saying was follow up with my son’s pediatrician. It did not sit well with me seeing my son develop this on his skin which I have never seen and it was continuing to spread. Anyway, I ended taking my son to the pediatric emergency room early the next morning. My son had IMPETIGO!!! A HIGHLY contagious bacterial skin infection. He was prescribed antibiotics!!!!! I will NEVERRRR come back here and I will tell my family and anyone else to run as far away as you can!! I don’t care about the first good experience, this bad experience was enough for me to change my review!!!!

Do not go here! Horrible service! I was waiting for the Doctor to see me in one of the rooms. A nurse provided me with 1 blanket but I was still freezing and shaking uncontrollably. The Doctor came in the room and saw me freezing but did not offer me another blanket. Told me maybe I should go to the ER. What!? I thought this acute care center is designed for patients with flu symptoms. What a joke! What an insult to me! I never got the feeling anyone really cared- they were just going through the motions. The prescription drugs prescribed to me never worked either. The symptoms still persist. Just seems like a money maker for someone.

Great experience! I was scheduled to do a standard screening for an employer, so I called up the office to see whether I needed an appointment. I've had less than pleasant experiences in the past with drug tests for employment, but I felt treated like an absolute professional and valued client from the moment Connie answered the phone. She answered all of my questions promptly and with solid information, and I came in today to get my tests run. The waiting area is clean and nice, and the front desk staff were genuinely pleased to greet everyone as we came in. I got the help I needed on filling out forms, and my exam technician (if that's the right term) was also cheerful and professional. If you need to get a test run (for employment or for medical purposes), I must say you'll have as smooth a time as possible with the excellent care of AFC.

I would definitely recommend American Family Care for your emergency needs over THE hospital Emergency Room unless of course you are having a heart attack or stroke. The staff and Dr was friendly,knowledgeable,and thorough. Also I was triaged,examined,tested,and diagnosed with the flu in less than two hours. My prescriptions were electronically sent to my pharmacy before I left the clinic and were filled and ready for pick up in less than 15 minutes. This was such better experience than the week before when I spent 6 hours in the hospital Emergency Room with my husband who ran a fever of 101.4 and extremely weak and all the symptoms of the flu only for the Dr to say that the Tamiflu did not do any good and did not give him antibiotics for the bronchitis or cough medicine..He did however give him a pain med prescription for his severe headache WE WATCHED THE WAITING ROOM EMPTY OUT COMPLETELY WITH PEOPLE WHO CAME IN AFTER US WHO ALSO SHOWED FLU SYMPTOMS. MY HUSBAND WAS SO SICK HE HAD TO GO BACK TO OUR CAR TO LAY DOWN UNTIL HE WAS CALLED IN TO BE SEEN. WE BOTH WILL RECOMMEND AFC TO EVERYONE FROM NOW ON.

They thought I had a stomach virus because I had no fever or cough, but they went the extra mile and tested me for the flu. The test was positive. They took the time to really listen and follow up. I heard people complain about the wait time, but I can say that as a patient, I never felt rushed, and if they had just treated me for symptoms, I would have had a wrong diagnosis. Made the best out of the flu. The staff was friendly, and our physician was wonderful. They thought I had a stomach virus because I had no fever or cough, but they went the extra mile and tested me for the flu. The test was positive. They took the time to really listen and follow up. I heard people complain about the wait time, but I can say that as a patient, I never felt rushed, and if they had just treated me for symptoms, I would have had a wrong diagnosis. That is worth waiting for. I would recommend it, and I am thankful for them today!

This place is amazing! They are SO NICE from the front counter all the way to the doctor! Kimberly is excellent and has incredible bedside manner. The woman who took my vitals before placing me in the room was great. Edgar Dollar was my doctor and I am so thankful for him! Everything went very quickly and smoothly. This kind of service is extremely rare when you're dealing with urgent care facilities.

Came to an employment Physical with forms. I was completely unprepared. The manager provided me services above and beyond what one would expect in order to get the job done. Were it not for her, the smiling friendly staff at reception and behind the door, and her can do attitude I probably would have just said forget the entire thing and moved on. Receptionists were nice. NP discussed my visit with door open. Visit( approx 6 min) did not address my symptoms entirely. Waited over 45 min to be discharged. Had to enter hallway twice to bring attention to the need for discharge. My unlabeled sample was still in room on counter as I left the room. I won't be back. Office is cold.

My wait time to be seen by the doctor was over two hours, and when seen by the doctor I was not given any helpful advice or prescribed and medication for my "upper respiratory infection". I suggest a shorter waiting period and more in depth examinations, so patients will not feel that there time is wasted. This was not my first experience here. The first time was quite similar, I had the flu while pregnant and they were no help at all. The doctor told me to "Google" medications that were safe for pregnant women to take for my symptoms.

I went for a sore throat diagnosed with step and was given the wrong type of prescription for my specific case after waiting forever with basically no one there. After 2 days my fever didnt go down and actually got higher from 101 to 102.8 and when i went to my regular doctor he acted as if i never should have been given the first drug. It didnt help at all. Now I'm gonna wind up missing more work. I would not recommend this place to a dying homeless person.

On 10/25/2017, I had a visit at American Family Care, Urgent Care with pain in both of my arms. I had so much pain I could not raise my arms above my head. The customer service desk was so polite when they checked me in. I got to see Dr. Gordon which was an awesome doctor. She examined me and saw I could not raise my arms shoulder length. She also saw I was in so much pain. She gave me a prescription, and by the next day I was 75% free of pain, and I was able to dress myself with little or no pain. THANK YOU DR. Since I went because I was sick, I didn’t want to be there. And thanks to the bout of flu hitting everyone in Columbus, it was packed! BUT I was given an approximate wait time when I checked in, as well as the reason for the long wait. When I was seen, the staff was incredibly friendly. Kimberly was amazing - she could see that I was cold and offered to bring me a heated blanket. The doctor gave me the diagnosis and an apology for not being able to give help other than a couple of prescriptions. And EVERY. SINGLE. STAFF MEMBER. apologized for the wait and told me they hoped I got well soon on my way back to the waiting room. This was about as pleasant as an acute care visit gets, and I will make it my new go-to place.

A doctor here at this practice treated my daughter in law for a UTI that he did not order a urinalysis for. Proper protocol would have warranted him to do so. He prescribed her 2 medications for a diagnosis that he failed to properly assess as he has been trained. 4 days later her condition is worse, and we are heading to the ER now. Shame on the provider for being so unethical in the matter.

I will be returning to this facility if I have to be seen in the future. I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I was called back within 10 minutes of arriving, and I was out within one hour. The nurse practitioner genuinely cared about her job and the patients. I love being treated with respect and kindness in the healthcare field because too often I’ve seen many nurses be very rude and act as if they hate their job. You guys are an awesome place and I’m thankful I was able to be seen quickly and promptly!

My wait was not extremely long. From the front entry to the back everyone was welcoming and professional. I love dr. Jenkins he takes time with you, listens, and is here to help you. Unlike the st Francis primary care department that I’ve recently called to schedule an appointment with, the afc staff made me feel at home and pleased to be a patient. I’ve noticed that in this particular area the front desk reps are ghetto, unprofessional, and act as if they hate answering the phone, or treating patients with respect. As if faxing papers and making copies is soooo stressful! I’ve seen it in my place of employment and a few medical facilities here as well. To all front desk reps ( you are the face of these businesses) when you destroy that you destroy the facilities money maker! Thanks for reading have a blessed day.
