they treated me for AML LEUKEMIA ON JUNE13 2018 THEY R THE BEST HOSPITAL AND DOCTORS AND NURSES

chris cooz

The doctors are great and that's the only reason I am giving 2 stars. For spending$120,000 on a medical procedure, that should include a private room! My wife had a medical procedure at Baptist/Wolfson and we had a private room. Just saying. .

The day shift nursing staff is amazing.

UF Health hospital is a industry leaders in innovation, quality patient care, clinical research, and have received recognition across various publications. It’s a 5 star hospital in my book.

Ask Me

Good hospital but they do NOT schedule appointments over the phone correctly. They gave me a 9:40 am appointment for a cat scan but did not get me in until well after 10:30am. They said I was scheduled at 10:40 am when I have a letter telling me 9:40 am. I have 4 other appointments here today. I am not a happy person today. I would not recommend this hospital unless you have nothing else to do that day.

My father was transported on ambulance at 8:00 am. Was told he was going to be admitted and still after 12 hours he still hasn’t been admitted. I called to ask when will he receive a room. The nurse said to me there are 32 people to be admitted. My thing is why continue to take patients if you don’t have place for the patients to go. This hospital is awful. It really doesn’t make any since to have someone that is 79 years old be there all day and don’t have a room. My father is a heart patient who had a heart transplant some years ago. Something need to be done about this!!

Temp Thompson

This is a sorry a** hospital you always wait forever and the staff are very slow u shouldn't have to spend half your day here just sitting nobody doing nothing to get you out quicker!!! Hate it will never come back longest waiting hospital

My grandmother went in for a stomach plug/feeding tube replacement at 11:30am. She is diabetic and has high blood pressure and is a severe patient of Alzheimer’s. At 8pm they put a IV because we complained after the 10th time. Her blood pressure was over 190 and her sugar was over 360. The response by the nurse was “there are other priorities and we cannot prescribe anything until the doctors come”. She has not had After 11 hours a doctor still hasn’t even looked at her. What a disappointment in Gainesville. UPDATE: she was just now 4am the following day taken to a room. Still a full day without eating, and without any medication. UPDATE: Still at the hospital after 24 hours, the doctor just saw her, they still have not fed or provided any medication

Cheryl Morin

They are good but short handed, when you have to pee you better be able to hold it for 30 minutes.

Would 110% recommend going anywhere other than Shands Hospital. I went to the emergency department on two separate occasions.First time I waited 3 hours and never got seen. The second time I was seen right away due to trouble breathing and I was given the typical "I don't know what's wrong" and was promised medicine and to go wait in the waiting room. Two hours later, I was never given any medicine and I ended up leaving and going to a different facility. I got a statement in the mail for the bill that I paid in full. Fast forward 5 months and I'm getting calls from a collections agency that I have a bill of over $200 that I need to pay. I called the Shands health customer service number and the man I spoke to basically said "it's a facility charge, there's nothing we can do." Even though I never received the services promised and ended up leaving on my own both times. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Linda Jacobs

Extraordinary and exceptional level of care pre and post operative for very involved shoulder surgery. The level of care and attention post OP is highly commendable.

Possibly the worst services of any Hospital in Florida. The staff is reprehensible, ignores patient requests and is rude. Sadly a patient endured the misery of the nursing staff while hospitalized for one week. Disgraceful how a hospital’s nursing staff that is supposed to render care to the sick can be so unresponsive and arrogant.

Johnny Ledbetter

I have been in and out of UF Health in Gainesville Florida now since October 27th 2018. I am writing this from this hospital and today is June 9th 2019. I have begun to realize that the Plastics and the Orthopedic teams at this hospital just may be the most inept, negligent group of doctors I have ever had the misfortune being a patient of.

Duane Guengerich

My wife had a fall. Ambulance took her to the ER and from that point we were jerked around like I have never seen before. We were there for 8 hours while we just saw employees sitting around doing nothing. Inefficient, slow. Hope to NEVER go back there again.

Dorothy Jackson Christian

Shands@UF is caring hospital really take excellent care of there patience and the family and yes I would recommend this place!

Sam Kelley

No help at all nurses have no bed side manners an doctors just don't know. We drove along way hoping that this place could help my husband or at least tell us a diagnosis. No clue what a joke a waist on our time. Would not recommend this hospital to any one. Not a very clean facility either. They need a lot more training an practicing before trying to play the part or trying to act like a professional.

Tonya Barber

" I thought TMH was bad, worst hospital experience ever. " Poor bedside manners, bathrooms in er were a mess, and to top it off my husband and I live three hours away. This is the thanks we get for supposedly choosing the best hospital in the region.

Chad Zetrouer

The ER is cruel and horrible but so is North Florida's so there's not much competition. The ICU is also a horrible environment where people go crazy with ICU delirium from the noise and 24 hour bright lights. The hospital rooms of the North tower are also terrible. How do they expect two people to be in the same room? People drive each other mad and TV volumes compete. Now the good news... The nurses in the ICU are great and on the floor they are better than north Florida. Doctors are very good but tend to treat the chart not the patient. The New South tower is awesome with private rooms and good nurses. Hopefully they take the North towers down and copy the south.

Brandon Ownbey

It's a hospital some of the questions were if I was at a club very disturbing on a serious note my loved one was taking care of with up most professionalism

Mariva Hammond

4 hours in we waiting to have Dr see my daughter for burns suffered by radiator spewing hot antifreeze and water on my daughter. We have had to change the gauze dressings on her abdomen ourselves. Shameful treatment....the nurse barely supplied 2 dressings

I arrived a good 45 minutes early at neruomedicine. I was told I needed a lumbar xray. Xray receptionist told me he saw it in the notes but didn't have an order to do it. After 2 trips back to nerumedicine and about an hour and 10 minutes later I finally got an xray. My cardiologist sent me there even though I live over 2 hours away. 2 previous surgeons and a chiropractor told me I have a nerve pinched in 2 directions. Doctor Murad said he didn't see a problem. What a wasted trip. Mark Waldron

I was under the impression that Shands is an advanced hospital. My mom was recently admitted and during her stay she was given fried chicken and macaroni and cheese for dinner. My mom is a type 2 diabetic and has heart disease, along with many other ailments. When the staff was questioned about my mom's food, we were told that the nutritionist said that fried chicken and macaroni and cheese was an appropriate meal for my mom. Keeping them sick so they'll keep coming back must be the motto. Try a little harder people of Shands.

LaGuera Arellano

I was in and out in no time. Everyone was nice and polite.

Michael Cooper

I found out 2nd wk of June that there was no charge for medical records,I took advantage. I've been feeling rotten for weeks and NOW I know why.. In 2016 shands found that, through a ct scan that I had ms,bone cancer(destructive lesion) and indication of esophageal cancer--- and they NEVER TOLD ME ANYTHING. This wasn't an isolated incident,3 months later they found the same,a bit worse Plus,a New destructive lesion. Again I was not told anything. I've been to their emergency room (main one and a satellite) right at 8-9 times, guess what, they do not even acknowledge the fact that I'm very sick&now not even able to eat ANYTHING!! BEFORE they moved to other side of the street I would not of gone anywhere else,in fact they saved my life Twice, but I suppose now they're trying to take it back. Please don't believe anything they tell you cuz all any of them have done for myself is out&out LIE!!!

Ryan Nation

Kind people and good help to my uncle

Belinda Tripp

Its a great hospital and has a good network of doctors

Kaitlynn Barr

I was transported from Capital Regional in Tallahassee to Shands due to a carcinoid tumor in my left lower lobe in my lung. I have received nothing but great care from all of my nurses. This is the best hospital that I have ever been to and the staff is top notch. Not to mention their food is amazing. I’m very impressed.

courteney lewis

The saying is: “Go to shands dead they will bring u back to life go alive, they’ll kill you!” Went via ambulance complaining of chest pains. Vitals stable for the most part. I was lightheaded felt as if I was fighting for my life literally!!! I could not breath as I waited in the waiting area that they redirected me to. Still fighting I left and caught a ride to North Florida Regional Medical! I am thankful I did because what I didn’t know was the history of my family having pulmonary embolisms and other blood clots! Now that I’m better and I know my risks and what have what I need to survive I am still afraid to trust shands with my life! Being 27yr with major health issues is nonexistent to Shands ER! Nothing processed to anyone to check my Symptoms and use Judgement that this was abnormal. Didn’t even take a urine sample to see if their was any other factors that would have contributed to my complaint. I’m still hurt about this!

Lauren Puskaric

If I could give a zero star rating for Shands I would. The doctors who work in the emergency room are the most careless doctors I have ever encountered. Earlier this year, I went to the ER for an unbearable headache. After spending seven hours in the ER, I was sent home misdiagnosed and without any antibiotics. They told me I had a respiratory infection. Two MONTHS later I get a letter in the mail stating my test results came back abnormal. Turns out I had strep throat. Not to mention, it was obvious my doctors wanted to work on other patients who suffered trauma rather than help me. Never going back.

Elizabeth Diston

I absolutely love this hospital, my parents and a friend have been there for a week now due to a really bad motorcycle accident. And they have done nothing but be on top of everything for the three of them. And they have been good at communicating with all of my family on what's going on. I really couldn't ask for them to be in a better hospital. The staff is amazing, and they work super hard to make sure everything is set and comfortable for their patients.

Savvy Shopper

This medical establishment was once regarded as a facility in which one could receive a high level of care and compassion. However, it has become a place filled with arrogant doctors with poor bedside manner who care nothing about patients or their families.

Faith Pinkston

This place is HORRIBLE!!! My mom got in a car accident and they had her sitting there in pain for 5 or 6 hours before they got her a room and tried to send her home then next day and she could barely even walk from a broken back and was told by one of the doctors that they can call her a cab. She went home about 3 days later just to have to go to another hospital from a brain injury that they so called “didn’t catch”. Clearly they don’t look over things correctly and didn’t check anything but her back when she kept mentioning her eyesight was blurry. Oh yeah and on top of that I came to visit her and a nurse came in there and got her confused with another patient. THAT IS VERY UNSAFE!!!

Jackson Broome

Absolutely terrible. Currently suffering with an awful case of strep throat. I went to the EMERGENCY ROOM, and I’ve been waiting over 3 hours. That is unacceptable for any hospital

Kim Mentock

Was recommended by doctor in Ocala to go to shands for my husband's problem with a red blotch on his leg. Went to heart an vascular department. Spent all day to be told its a bad valve in his left leg an nothing then can do for him. Have to live with the problem pain itching numbness an more for rest of his life mainly deal with it. Came home googled it an came up with CVI an they can repair damage valve an vain feel was told this that they can't or won't because we had not insurance. Was told this was one of the too hospital mind you this was the head if this department who seen us an said this rude an no bedside manners. I was in tears when he said there was nothing nobody could do knowing poor blood flow in left leg can put you at higher risk of heartache. I will be writing to whomever is in charge for the lies an b.s. today. Doctors take an oath to save lives not destroy them. All about the money here that's the way we seen it. Took us 1 1/2 years to finally get seen here for what be lied to an run off because basically no insurance.

Update* My husband had amazing service in the cardiovascular hospital. Now he is in the children's hospital side. The nurses are behind rude, his room is so filthy o took video. Hasn't been cleaned in 5 days. Charge nurse rolled her eyes at me. The filth on the floor is gross. Reporting it doesn't help as they don't seem to care either. June 20, 2019 I'm here now. They didn't give be my meds last night, tried to give me wrong ones. This morning same thing. I'm in a dark alley eoom with no windows. Nurses are the worst. Still haven't eaten in almost 24 hours. Husband was here with the best doctors, nurses and care. I'm here shaking with nasty nurses. Thank goodness I record everything to show incompetence.

Mark Williams

The staff and facility are amazing. This is not the Shands of old days. This is the view of the Garden of Hope behind the cancer center. Picture doesn't do it justice.

I called Shands Hospital after being diagnosed with a "rare and aggressive", malignant Melanoma, on my the left side of my face. By the time it had been correctly diagnosed, it was quite large, by melanoma standards. The Dr. that Shands hooked me up with, scared the hell out of me. First telling me that I should start getting my affairs in order. He then told me, and I quote, "I am going to have to put some thought into how I'm going to reconstruct your face. But, I can tell you that you will have a droopy lip, and you will have trouble keeping liquids in your mouth." He then told me that after the surgery, I would have radiation, to the jaw, twice a day, for 6 weeks. That's right, 42 radiation treatments. He said they would "ruin my teeth and my taste buds, and would have to give me pain meds so I could swallow." At that point, I referred to Moffitt in Tampa. I did have extensive surgery, and Moffitt suggested Interferon treatment, which I declined. To date, 10 years later, I have had several surgeries for my Melanoma issues, but no after treatment of any kind. The initial surgery to my face has healed so nicely, most people don't notice the scars, until I point them out...no "droopy lip, no trouble keeping liquids in my mouth", and best of all, no Kemo or Radiation. I truly believe that I would be dead, had I stuck with Shands, and my original Dr. there. And after another scary visit that my wife had, we will never go back to Shands. no doubt about it.

Grace Marie

Jesus, friend went there for UTI, and took 3 hours , saying it’s a shift change when we got there way before . Had no one in emergency room. Like one car in parking lot. Trying to make their hourly rate it seems . Horrible service .next tome we rather drive to NAS Jax

Nicholas Butler, ASN, RN, ABLS

Excellent service, very knowledgeable doctors and skillful nurses. Took awesome care of my father when he was there.

Silvia Sanchez

Last year my son was send from West Palm Beach hospital to hospice, doctors got frustrated with him and told me is was nothing medical to do with him. After running out of options we drove my son to Shands Hospital. On May 10 2018 Trauma Surgeon Dr: Chasen Croft save my son life after GI surgery and got rid off ilius my son is now eating pure food and home with us. He makes my mother day so special he bring my son back to life. And the trauma floor at Shands wonderful all the nurses support keep me positive and reassured me everything was going to be ok every nurse in that second floor is a special part in our heart and of curse Dr: Croft we can’t never thank you enough for bringing my son back to life every mother day and thanksgiving you and your team are always remember. Thank you. Sílvia and my son Christian Sanchez

Melanie Boykin

It's a very clean facility and the staff is friendly, helpful and caring.

Gary L Sr.

I have been here on two occasions. Both visits resulted in the failure of the main ER to provide quality, efficient and effective health care. If I had not gone to the satellite ER after the main ER on the first visit I probably would have lost some or all use of my arm for the rest of my life. We ended up going to satellite ER both times. The main ER is in dire need of additional rooms, staff and an effective/efficient/organized structure. I love the Shands doctors/nurses/students/admin staff and I am a very vocal advocate to whom ever I meet, but the main ER gives them a black eye! Please don't misunderstand me, The staff in that facility do their best. I blame hospital management at all levels. Although, my wife and I did observe a UF student with a minor left foot injury getting preferential treatment bypassing 30 or more others waiting including me, with a serious dislocated shoulder condition. Go to one of the satellite ER's first if you can get there you won’t be disappointed!

Cindy Bird

HORRIBLE AND NEGLIGENT!! ABSOLUTELY NO communication between a dying patient and his family, and that's just the beginning. This place deserves ZERO stars! When the patient died they didn't even notify the family, and hospice couldn't wait to get their claws into his bank account and possessions. All around gross negligence from the very beginning and it stinks of malpractice. STAY AWAY if you value your life or a loved one's life.

Very nice very professional the place is extremely clean

Cindy Foster

The place is a maze with few directional signs. The signs there were, were incorrect due to construction.

Gary Pouncey

Best Hospital in Florida if you need special care for loved ones in need of advanced care.

James Preiato

Was told by my cardiologist that I needed to go to the ER ASAP. COULD NOT BREATH PAINS IN CHEST ARMS AND LEGS, 10 HOURS IN ER..... STILL HAVE NOT SEEN A DOCTOR. I have been here 5 times, walked out after 7 hour wait times. Would walk out now if I could walk or breath.

Amber Jazzie

This place is HORRIBLE! I thought it was great but it isn’t!. Don’t come here! We waited for almost 7 hours!. We needed major medical help and they didn’t do a damn thing!. We just waited and waited. DO NOT COME HERE. Some staff was rude as well. I DO NOT RECOMMONED COMING HERE.

Kathryn Milliken

Was a Blessing . Good experience. Very Organized.

leon sanders

The staff here is excellent. Giveing excellent care, and fun to be around, making these day Far more tolerable in a bad situations.

Donald Deane MCSE,Master ASE,CPO

my hand got real infected and had massive adema when I went to shands they really cared I was admitted they treated me like I was the owner . the nursing staff very professional People may say the nursing staff is bad but that s only a slip up in the shifts !! if could name them I would !! But most the nurses were so compelled to helping me Even Dr.Bensari was attending she was very compassionate!! And Understanding she really cared !! The surgeons everybody Did Such a Great Job !!! I have other health issues and look forward to returning !! Go to a hospital that can do it all !!! And Really Strives In the best of health care!!!

April Flowers

Anytime I come here I am very well taken care of

wade nottingham

The nurse's and doctors were thorough and good to us. However once all was done that they could do, the discharge wait was and still is over four hours. Why? Because neurology department has failed to click a single button on the computer. So the nurse's can't let us go and we hold up a bed and a room for another patient in need. We lose our patience and stress increases and the cycle continues. Ugh

Jenny K

Excellent facility with amazing staff. This hospital has state of the art equipment with staff that provide warm, personal care. My mother in law needed a brain tumor removed and everyone (housekeeping, nurses, doctors, techs, clerks) made us feel welcome, respected, and important. They truly provide personalized, individual care to everyone that walks through the door. Parking is easy, especially with valet service. I would recommend this hospital to anyone and everyone.

Ben Nelson

Saved my wife's life. If not voted #1 should be #1 Hospital in Florida.

David Payton

This Hospital has an Awesome Staff! This is Possibly the Best hospital in Florida..

BTDB NINJA

Very professional and knowledgeable staff in the icu. They keep you well informed and work hard to care for you loved one. The Doctors and residents do a great job on updating you on a frequent basis as well as the critical care team. I thank them and hope that each and everyone of them understand that they have a very important job to do every day and the important part they play in our lives.

Carl Hernandez

I live out of state and called to get an update on my son who was in a critical accident. My first impression, one of the most unprofessional, uninformed, and disengaged hospitals ever. I realize health care puts little emphasis on customer service. They have terrible receptionists, nurses and no doubt administrators with terrible people skills and over inflated egos. Someone should do something about people at all levels from the person who answers the phone to the nurses to the doctors to the administrators to remedy this first impression. I guess TV is a direct reflection of what hospitals are really like. In a short and simple statement, suck!

Your Healing Corner

DR. JENG'S STAFF WAS RUDE AND AS A HEALTHCARE PROFESSION I FOUND WORKING WITH THEM THAT SOME OF THE STAFF WAS UNPROFESSIONAL AND NOT ACCOUNTABLE.

Benjamin Rowe

One of the best in the state if not the southeast for cancer treatment. My wife enjoys the staff they have here during her stay.

Raquel Gonzalez

I have been sitting in the ED for almost five hours and no one has called my name this is ridiculous... This place is supposed to be the best in Gainesville I should have went to North Florida....

Dennis Hughes

The best hospital bar none. Superior service, excellent bed side manner, the doctors truly care about patients. They will not send you home until you are completely satisfied.

Max Wainer

Good, knowledgeable doctors. But poor coordination between medical teams. Since it's a teaching hospital, the doctors do rounds with a group of students/interns/residents. Sometimes I felt that the doctor was playing to his/her entourage more than speaking to the family of the patient.

What will we talk about next ?

My wife and I had our first child(son) here this past March(30)....the staff were very very nice and they were also very professional.Wish I can give them 10 stars

Ollie Gregory

For the most part is a good hospital when you don't have money or insurance they kick you out as soon as possible. she should not be going home she should be going to a facility and they're in no way trying to help her.

L.A Brannen

Amazing. Personable and dedicated.

Marky Mark

I wanna thank Dr. SU and staff for helping save my mom's life as she can't have blood transfusions..they are the best of the very best..him and his staff are as good as your ever going to find..they all were a blessing I will always appreciate in my life and my mother's..My family is grateful and keeps these wonderful awesome doctors and staff in our prayers as they care to save lives..

Trey Greason

Donna York is a nasty person. She gives this place a bad name and earned it a one star rating.

Amy Wishart

I'm from out of town, so I didn't know not to go here. Spent 7 hours vomiting, with a high fever and signs of tachacardia. They didn't even give me the decency to offer me a blanket while I was sitting in that waiting room vomiting so retched that I urinated on myself. i left their waiting room waiting and was never seen by a Dr. (Along with many other people, I left). Can't leave negative stars, so they get 1 they don't deserve! ER check in staff have no clue what they were doing. Didn't even know some common medications. Narcissistic bearded murse treated me like I wasnt a human, a bigger man went up to him and was yelling about not being seen yet and he greeted him and sent him back with a room. I went up there after 7 hours to speak to him because he seemed like he cared with the other man and I was wrong!!!! Turns out he knew that man was bigger than him and probably would have punched him in his pie hole had he talked to him the same way he talked to me! The grey headed older woman didn't get off her butt one time to help any patients and the older murse that was considering dating on tender said after I told him I was leaving that he didn't know what my expectations were?? Teaching hospital? What are they teaching them? This hell hospital story has much more I could say about, but you get the jist. Don't go here

Shay love

This hospital is by far the worse hospital I have every experienced in my life. I was rushed by ambulance from Urgent Care and sat in the er for 8 hrs and they still had not seen me. The staff were rude and obnoxious. If your life is at stake avoid this hospital at all cost. I'm editing this review because now I'm getting doctor bills for this Hospital upward into the $5,000 range and not a doctor or nurse laid their hand on me. Shame on you damn crooks.

Karen Peterson

Blessed beyond... excellent staff, very knowledgeable, caring, attentive, passionate. God placed me at the best! Very grateful to each and every person for their roles in my journey.

Sherri Brenneman

I'm only giving it a 1 star because I have to. This place is ridiculous. My father waited for over 2 hours to get something for his cough. Will never come back again

Stop playing

Hate Shands hospital put my mother thru so much pain with kidney transplant ongoing for many mouths treat they patients as ginypigs

Lisa Reid

Customer service was not so good, but got better during the day

Winzoir Durr

I have had many experiences here at the shands ER. Most of them bad. Like now I'm sitting here in the waiting room with my brother. He's been waiting since 7 am. It is now1:37 pm! His top lip is completely split about 1 and a half inches long. They didn't give him anything for the pain and only offered him a piece of gauz. The ambulance ride here paramedics didn't even try to clean the wound!!! Just picked him up and dropped him off here. I wouldn't recommend Shands at UF ER to Osama Bin Laden! North Florida Regional Medical Center is my choice from now on for me and anyone I know...or don't know for that matter!!

Catherine Carter

Nurses was very rude. Not a good experience

Ingrid Fernandes

Slow and their process is incredibly inefficient. They get so much recognition for their cancer treatments but fail to do a good job with literally any other condition. Hours of waiting and the front desk is rude.

Ariel Mango

This hospital is a joke, and the staff is beyond sorry. Not to mention the wait time is absolutely ridiculous.

Nancy L Peterson

The staff here are wonderful... Bring my daughter often and they are saving her life... More than cancer center... Many rare health issue are taken care of here also....

Dasha Jenkins

I am sick and tired of this hospital. Someone at the top of chain of command needs to fix their system. Its not working! Miscommunication, poor organization! Get it together Shands. Everything has to be a struggle. A simple thing cannot be resolved. No answers and no person to speak with, constant bouncing back and forth. I'm not even going to go into the some of the staff and their behavior.. Because some of them need to go home... But I am honoring the people who actually know how to do their job, polite and professional staff.. nurses doctors and surgeons, thank God for them. Extremely disappointed with this hospital after everything we went through with them,it has been so much more negative experiences than positive. Its sad.. Please provide more staff please be more organized please don't let the patients suffer because you don't know how to run this. Too many hands is in a pot and the end result is disappointing.

Rayna Marshall

Friendly staff, nice rooms and great view on 8th floor

Kim Curtis

The worst hospital I have ever dealt with - my Mom has been there 3 times in 6 weeks with an internal bleed which causes low hemoglobin and she passes out - multiple test including a camera she swallowed on wednesday - it's Friday and they said the software has been down so they can;t read it ! It took 3 days for the GI doctor to see her with no answer and said he had a whole text book on what to do and she should pick a chapter. WTH! Is that a sick joke! Horrible bed side manner - RUDE and unacceptable..... They want to release her tomorrow so in 3 days she will just be back there - ridiculous. Might bring here to Tampa - better hospitals here.. They call Shands a teaching hospital - no kidding - SCARY! Do not send your loved ones there!

Sheldon Wimberley

I was at Shands for a week and a half and the many doctors and specialist diagnosed my ailment getting me back on the road to recovery. I had a great experience at Shands all staff was great no complaints at all couldn't ask for better care

J Rodriguez

Got here at 12:56 and it’s now 6:47 and i been in the waiting room sitting down waiting to be seen by a doctor.. are you kidding me... came in for chest pains and abdominal pains and they’re yet to do anything for me... absolutely ridiculous!!!

Dan Myers

Took my Girlfriend for migraine and other medical symptoms. Wait time was extremely long for a close to empty waiting room. Staff was slow and seemed to not care that much about her symptoms. Only positive was how fast that got us blankets. Been in and out of hospitals my whole life and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had.

rebecca Williams

I am venting...i am sitting with my Granny in shands and she is having pretty extreme abdominal pain so i tell the nurse. She essentially pats me on the head, said she told the doctor and "can she go eat lunch now"...what!!! 3 family member in 3 months have hospital issues with a staff member. The other nurse assistant refused to help her up because " she about broke our backs this morning "...what is WRONG with people?? But no...please...go have lunch.....we went to this hospital because my last 2 experiences elsewhere sucked also...one day YOU will get sick ....

King Toaster Strudel

Sitting here at the er. Date 2/25/18 came in at 2:30 is now 7:30. Still have yet to be seen. For severe muscle spasms, hard breathing, and complications walking with cerebral palsy. I was here and then a whole bunch of people came in after me. Everyone was seen and got a room, yet I’m here still waiting. More people keep coming in, and keep pushing me to the side. By far for how many stars this hospital gets, I’m surprised I’m giving it a one. I’m disabled permanently and have severe issues that need to be treated ASAP. Being pushed as not that important of an individual pisses me so far off. I was sent here from my hospital at home to be seen immediately, and just am sitting here still waiting for a permanent possible muscle issue. Thanks Shands, love you guys

Matthew D

Currently going on a 6 hour wait in the waiting room, staff laughing that it's not really that busy yet here you set. Have watched many end up leaving to go to another hospital because of waiting so long. Also know that they may have cost a fellow use of his foot leaving him waiting for over 6 hours with a bleeding issue

Outstanding care, staff and health system. I’ve been in health care for 15 years and have run large hospitals, this place got it right. Thank you to the neuro/cardiovascular tower, specifically Paige, MaryLee, Dr Barkley, Dr Ashley, Dr Amdur, Dr Aman or Rhaman and Justine (Nurse Manager). We felt like family and they made the hardest part of our lives to date manageable. Thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts! Go Noles!

Fiance has high risk pregnancy. They take excellent care of all her medical needs and concerns.

Erica Borchgardt

I had a terrible migraine for 2 days in which my meds were not helping. By the 3rd day I went to Shands ER because I couldn’t handle the pain any longer. I arrived at 8 am with an almost empty waiting room. I was taken back to a bed in less than 20 minutes and seen and treated immediately. Staff was kind and understanding and even turned off the loud tv that was overhead - without me even having to ask. Surprisingly the treatment I was given worked like a charm and I was out within 3 hours & minus a migraine. I have to say I was not expecting my visit to go so well. Glad I was pleasantly surprised.

CLAUDIA ACOSTA

By far the worse hospital. The way they treat their patients is inhuman! Speaking with recorded evidence. They are shady, liars, and they are making stories against a child's mother. They are sick and disgusting. I hope nobody goes through this and has to deal with people and hospitals like this one. STAY AWAY! This hospital is the WORST OF THE WORST! How they treat their patients, specially a little angel
