I've been a patient of Dr. Sudbury's for two years and have had nothing but positive experiences with the practice. The longish wait times do not bother me, because for the first time ever, I never feel rushed when I am with a doctor and feel like I have the opportunity to get answers to all of my questions. They have been great about personalizing my care plan to fit my financial and personal needs, which I really appreciate. The few times I have called with issues, I have received a call back within 48 hours which is standard for a practice of their size. I continue to recommend the practice to others.

I have been a patient of this practice for many years and have been pleased with the professionalism and care of the staff and physicians. I am also a patient that is very pro-active in my care, I understand it is NOT the responsibility of the doctors office to know my insurance, get my authorizations or be able to tell me my exact amount owed at the time of service. Having said that, I have never had an issue with any financial errors at this office. My physican treats me, the office sends the claim to my insurance and I receive a bill, the office has also always worked with me when times were tight and I could not pay my bill in full in one payment. I have had excellent care from the doctors at this practice and have never felt they were only there for the money. I will soon be traveling a lot for business but will always find my way back to see the amazing staff and physicians at Premier OB/GYN. I will agree with a slight wait time but to me it is worth the wait!!

Absolutely awful!!!! I tried giving them many chances over a year. It starts with not being able to get a hold of the front office, reception is less than friendly or knowledgeable, dumped much money and time into this practice and they still did not take care of my medical issues! So finally switched practices and was told it will take TWO WEEKS to get my records sent over!!! To summarize... My Vet treats my dog better than this office and doctors treat their patients.

I really like Dr. Shen. She's very personable and truly cares about her patients. The wait was a little long but I would assume its because she doesn't rush through patient visits. I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable during our visit.

I have been coming here since I was in high school. I had noticed a change in staff at the front desk. Currently both ladies are insensitive and completely dismal seeming at their positions. I know jobs can have their ups and downs but making patients, who are already uncomfortable with going to the OBGYN, even more uncomfortable. I left with the feeling like they just don't care. It can make a practice go really bad... I hope things have changed by the time I have my next annual. The appointment scheduling girl on staff was really sassy. I'm generally pretty easy going about things like this but my last two appointments have been like this. In the same week. Smile, polite, kind, patient and leave the rest at home.

Unfortunately I never got the opportunity to meet Dr Shen whom came highly recommended. I have never been harassed by a doctors staff member before so this was a first. There is something seriously wrong with Rhonda the new patient coordinator. I know that I am not the first to have issues with this person. I hope she gets the help she needs.

Went in for an urgent evaluation (referred by my primary care doctor for pain and cramping). I sat waiting for the doctor for a very long time because someone didn’t show up for work that day. They could not get an ultrasound scheduled until 7 days later. They did not call me with the results for 2 days so I called them 2 times this morning with no answer, left a message, & received no call back. Now they are closed and I will be waiting for the entire weekend at least to find out if everything is okay. If I am supposed to assume everything looks fine, what are my next steps supposed to be? Dr. Lin was nice but the rest of the bunch I met were not very nice or good at their jobs.

Let me start off by saying Dr. Shen is a very friendly and knowledgeable doctor and i respect her. I do NOT respect the office. They run a scummy business with no patient advocacy. I went in to ask the doctor about basic options. The lady at the front desk told me that all i was going to have to pay was a $25 copay. I though awesome that's so cheap. Two days later i get a bill for $171, furious i messaged the doctor through portal asking why i had to pay that much, she says because i didn't meet my deductible. Now confused I call the billing department (which was very difficult because no one answers phones at this office) and they claim i have to pay it, nothing they can do about it, i should have known what my insurance will cover. My argument was that NO ONE told me i was or might be entitled to pay more according to my insurance, NO ONE checked (with codes, which i would not obviously know) how much the REAL cost would be. They just continued to argue that it was my fault because i should know how much my insurance would cover. Also i would have had to call and ask the insurance how much this kind of visit would be. I'm sorry but that is the offices job, their job to advocate for their patients and be as transparent as possible and find out a final price before the service is done, and if their scared of giving a wrong estimate then they should at least include a short sentence or disclaimer about possibly paying more according to insurance. I am beyond myself that this office was very sneaky in this way and did not tell me or warn me that there was going to be an extra payment or a possibly extra payment, just that i was "only" going to have to pay this $25 copay. I absolutely do not recommend going to this office for this reason (unless you have super awesome insurance) because they will not tell you the real price of service and expect you to play secretary and find out yourself. They run a very fraudulent business and i will get my money back. ALSO they ran a U/A and pregnancy test without informing me or communicating to me. The manager tells me that it is a standard procedure because "there was a sign in the front office" So i explained "what if i couldn't read, was blind or didn't speak English?" she just laughed. I was obviously charged an obscene amount for those "basic procedures" and will not be able to get a refund because there was a sign in the front office. Please be smart and pick an office that actually cares about their patients and not just money.

Hard to say "I love a Gynecologist's office" but these people have never been less than efficient, professional, & warm and caring. They're attentive, gracious & kind. They've never made me wait more than ten minutes in their waiting room & 5-10 in their exam room. They offer a full range of gynocological & obstetric care, as well as lab services & other tests. I really have never had a problem. My daughter has been seen by them for 5 years, now, & prefers them to her GP, as do I. And with their new office in Sarasota, I find the single-star-reviews a little hard to accept as the norm. I wouldn't go anywhere else. UPDATE---2017--- SINCE 2014, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE SINGLE STAR REVIEWS!!! TRIED TO BILL ME 3x FOR OFC VISIT THEY CLAIMED WAS FREE BEFORE APPT WAS SET! TOOK 12WKS TO GET POSITIVE LABS TO ME. CALLED TO SCHEDULE IMMEDIATE RECHECK... 4WKS LATER! APATHETIC STAFF! WANTED TO DO $$$PROCEDURE WITHOUT STANDARD RECHECK FIRST!!! I WENT TO A DIFFERENT GYN... NO POSITIVE RESULTS, NO PROCEDURE. WISH MY DAUGHTER WOULD LEAVE THE PRACTICE.

Just moved here in Bradenton and of course I have to move all my medical stuff. Found Premier through my insurance. I love this place. Short wait time. Everyone is friendly. And I live Dr. Barton. She works with me and my problems. She takes time listening to what I want to do with my body and gives honest recommendations on what we can do and work on.

If you want to be put on an emotional roller coaster between the front desk staff, office manager, ultrasound tech and doctors and have drama at every appointment, go here. If you want added stress throughout your pregnancy, go here. Nobody cares about you as an individual patient. You are just a statistic. They didn't even have the common decency to notify their patients that the midwife left the practice. All they care about is your money. They have absolutely no patient advocacy. I ended up leaving the practice and delivering at SMH. I regret not listing to the past reviews and thought to give them a chance as it seemed the problem was more the front desk, when in in my case it is the doctors too. That was a huge mistake not listening to past reviews.

The secretaries are rude and the wait is forever. The only one to see there is Brandy Thomas the Nurse Practitioner. Im an RN myself and it is ridiculous how stupid and rude this secretaries are with no education specially when it comes to customer service. GET A CLUE you know who you are. Oh and It gets better, their patient portal doesn't even work. And it's true, they are horrible at calling pt's back. From a scale of 1 to 10. I would rate this company as a -10.

Love every aspect of the practice -- have been going for years. I have never had any issue that wasn't promptly resolved, billing or otherwise. All the doctors and nurses are top notch and treat their patients like family. The ONE thing I would like them to consider is having and on-call doctor who can be paged via phone in urgent situations.

Premier OB/Gyn has some of this most amazing doctors and staff! Not only do they truly care about their patients, they take the time to make you feel like family. Premier is a clean and beautiful office with a lot of home like feel. I love the fact that you can go there and they are equipped with everything! Doctors, ultrasound, lab etc. you do not have to leave the office to have a bunch of different appointments. I do now and will continue to go to premier where i feel comfortable. I personally see doctor Shen, I love her straight forward demeanor, she is a very lovely person... That said all the doctors are, they all are so loving and caring and seem to truly love their job! I give this office 10 stars and I recommend anyone to make an appointment and see for yourself :)

Let me start off by saying Dr. Sudbury and Dr. Shen are great doctors. Beyond that the practice is not only subpar, but down right unprofessional. I started going to Premier in 2011 when I got pregnant with my daughter. My care was ok at the beginning until I started to see the midwife. Every complex question I had her answer was "i Don't know". When I asked her about perineal massage she told me to go home and let my husband " play around down there". I had to use the internet to answer my questions. She was completely useless! She actually ended up delivering my baby and when I tore to my rectum my preferred dr didn't step in to sew me up. He sent in his brand new dr and it took over 45 minutes. I wasn't numb and felt every stitch. My birth plan was not supported at all. Post natal care was poor as well. I have had cysts, bled for 6 months, and severe vaginal pain.I returned to the office many times in hopes they would help me. Dr. Lin told me to choose one medical issue because she doesn't have time to help with them all. In return making me come back again (also paying my copay, again) multiple times to get relief. In 2012 the girl they had at the front desk violated HIPPA and told her friends I was at the office and conversations we had had there. When I complained to the office they did nothing. She was there for another year. Not only that, the girl contacted me on Facebook to yell at me for telling on her. I went in for my annual and they have student doctors from LECOM. The nurse asked if i minded if the student did my annual. I declined. Soon after the student doctor came into my room and performed a vaginal exam on me. I was too embarrassed to decline to his face. I had continued to be very loyal to Dr. Sudbury despite my differences with his staff, but he has stopped delivering. When finding out about my second pregnancy I called and asked to have a consultation with Dr. Sudbury about the practice he owns and my prior experience. Not only did he refuse to speak to me and would not respond to my email, but he had this lady I'd never spoken to before that day email me for him discharging me from his practice!!!! Dr. Sudbury and I went from talking about his daughter and their family vacations to him discharging me even after all I have put up with just to be under his care. He did not even have the professional demeanor to write me himself. Not only that, a few hours after i got discharged so rudely they took away my patient portal access so now I have no access to my records. Now, in order to get them I have to PAY to receive them when they were on the portal for free. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! If you would have told me this was going to happen to me I would not have ever believed you. Dr. sudbury and I had a great patient/doctor relationship and I would have never guessed he would be so cruel. He abandoned me newly pregnant and in need of prenatal care. He will do it to you too. Not only that the front desk girl told me he watches them on the cameras he has all over the office and he will get them into trouble from video footage he watches on his phone. Don't give this man your money. I was so fooled for so long! Save yourself the heartache and choose another doctor.

There has been a couple times I called wanting to be seen that day and they ALWAYS made it possible for me to be seen. They understand the struggles of being a girl and they make it their top priority for you to be taken care of. They make me feel like they really care. I've never been to an office were they will take you last minute and i appreciate it so much. Ive been looking for a primary OBGYN and i found it. Thank you.!!

Over the years the genuine thoughtfulness, caring and compassion they have shown is remarkable and sets them apart from any other practice in my book. I’m pregnant with my second daughter and was encouraged to visit Premier by several people - all for the same reason - Dr. Shen is AMAZING! Out of the three doctors I saw, she is definitely top notch and I’m so disappointed that she won’t be delivering my daughter. I’m a few days shy of 35 weeks, which happens to be when I delivered my first daughter. I was well aware that this office only had privileges at Lakewood Ranch. I didn’t think it would be an issue at all as I assumed it would be a good/great hospital. After finally being able to tour the maternity/delivery area I was immensely disappointed. I first delivered at Sarasota Memorial which was perfect in so many ways, so perhaps I had high standards, but Lakewood Ranch fell short in so many ways. My husband and daughter were just as unimpressed. I decided to let the office know that I would not feel comfortable delivering at LWR and explained my reasoning. Dr. Lin seemed to be personally offended and “strongly encouraged” me MULTIPLE times to find another office. Did I mention I was almost 35 weeks and have had a stressful pregnancy since day 1? This news was not conducive to a stress free end to my pregnancy. I did talk about my fears of having to search for a new provider at such a late time, and explained that I didn’t mind who delivered since my previous OB didn’t deliver my daughter the first time around anyway. I live around the corner from Premier and it was more convenient to continue my care here, then I would drive 45min to deliver at SMH. From there on out I felt all her tension, the repeated you’ll need to find another office, oh but we can’t not give you care, but you are “strongly encouraged” to find someone else. Utterly disappointing! I think Dr. Shen would have handled it much better in a kinder and more professional manner. I’ve spent hours calling different offices to be told that I’m too far along and they will not take me at at this stage. Thanks a lot Premier for your “outstanding” customer service, your aiding in my stress levels at this stage, and your wonderful manner in dealing with patients when you find out they are choosing what is best for them. Bravo!! If you do plan to give birth at LWR, best of luck, and I highly suggest working with Dr. Holly Shen!! You will not be disappointed!!!

Wife went in for ultrasound for possible issues and after waiting almost 2 weeks to get results they wanted another $150 to give us the results after we paid almost $250 on initial visit. I am beyond grateful for coming across this practice for the birth of my son! As a first time mother, I was nervous about the whole experience; however, everyone at Premier OB/GYN was wonderful and was there for me every step of the way. Being pregnant is a very vulnerable time in a woman’s life, and Dr. Lin, Dr. Barton, and Dr. Shen were all extremely comforting, knowledgeable, and just overall friendly towards my husband and me. I knew from my first appointment I had made the right choice. Dr. Lin delivered my son via c-section, and I couldn’t have felt at more peace knowing I was in the hands of such a caring and experienced professional. Without a doubt, if I were to have another child, I wouldn’t want any other group of doctors to be a part of such a beautiful, yet challenging, time of my life. Thank you to ALL of the doctors, nurses, and helpful staff. You are by far the best around!

I am from Miami and have had very good doctors in the past. Finding Maria Lin Was a pleasure. She takes her time with a patient and is extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone, and as for me,I will have no other doctor in my future. Fabulous doctor. Am very surprised by all the negative reviews. I am glad I took them with a grain of salt and went anyway. Staff, nurses, and Dr. Lin were all super friendly and professional. I was in and out in less than an hour and a half. They are very accommodating, and kind. Extremely thorough. Clean office. Without getting too personal, it was the least uncomfortable check up I've had in years. Pretty much NO discomfort. I recommend Premier Ob/Gyn. Also, the patient portal account you get is neat. I feel like I'm in good hands. You can often tell from the first visit, and I can tell, they are thorough. I have very high standards for doctors, and was satisfied.

If you plan on a natural birth, I would suggest going elsewhere. I felt both Doctors Lin and Shen were undermining me. Even heard some things said behind my back in a making fun of sort of way. They made me ashamed to even have a birth plan. Treated it like it was nothing and I wasn't important. I have no support as it is from anyone being single and alone. My own doctors offer no support and on top of that mock me.

I will not return to this practice. The staff memebers are terrible, and I believe Dr. Shen wanted to do an un necessary surgery. I received a call from the practice, late on a Fri. afternoon to schedule surgery. I called first thing on Mon. morning, with no return call to schedule. I then called twice again, and also e-mailed on the web site. Approx. 2 weeks I got a call to schedule the surgery. By that time, I read up on the surgery the Dr. wanted to do and found it most likely not even necessary. I also read reviews and found others experienced similar issues as I had. Yes, I also believe this practice is all about bringing in the money!

I have been seeing Dr. Shen for the past couple of years. She is amazing! We were able to figure out the cause of some issues I had been having for YEARS and having now been treated, I am back to feeling fantastic. I would and do recommend this office to others. For those who have had issues with the office staff, I'm sorry for you, but I've never experienced that. Occasionally there are longer than preferred waits, but nothing I haven't encountered at any other medical facility. If you are looking for a doctor who actually cares about your heath and well-being, I would recommend checking them out. Ultimately, we all know that you can't please all the people all the time...

I ended up with a unplanned c section and Dr Lin performed it. Very happy with choosing them as my Drs. Thank you guys so much!

This place is awesome. Such caring staff. I just delivered and am pleased with everyone. Sometimes you do have to wait a bit for an appointment... but come on people we are dealing with babies. Sometimes the Dr's and the NP have to leave to go deliver so be understanding. I have no complaints. Thanks to everyone that works at Premier. You all are true professionals.

This office dismissed me at 8 months pregnant due to a medication they accused me of taking when I wasn't taking it. The girl Rhonda who called didn't even know what correct medication she was talking about. The drs knew what meds I was in n what i was taking the whole time. I never lied to them about anything. Even in there dismissal letter they said I was dishonest when I wasn't just to cover their own butts. Now I'm struggling to find a dr that will take my insurance and me cause of how far along I am as well. I'm a single parent of a disabled child who ive delt w drs like this that will lie to protect them selfs when they were wrong. I've been sick and barely been able to eat since this happened 4 days ago. Go somewhere else.

I read the reviews on here before I made my appt for the first time...why did I think I would have a good experience, when so many clearly did not? Well, I figure, rude office staff? I get along with everyone! No big deal, kill 'em with kindness. But, being in the healthcare field myself, this is a field of customer service; as soo many fields of work/business are! Why should I try to win them over, when they should be pleased to have my business and be getting my money! Holy moly, can't even tell you how shockingly rude some of the people here are. Yes, the waits are always long (very long). OK, I can deal with that. But rudeness? Office staff acting like I'm stupid? Trying to correct me, talk over me (ma'am, ma'am!), transferring me immediately to someone else because they are lazy (so I have to recall to get them on the phone again), scheduling me for appointments I don't need (so I miss work, and they make their money-and yes, I agree with them being all about the money)? I don't need that! There are so many other obgyns who would, I'm certain, want and desire to keep my business! Please, listen to these reviews (unlike me) and spare yourself from having to switch doctors 4 months into your pregnancy. If they care about patient satisfaction, they NEED to change their office staff. Nurses included if you ask me-please, I'm pretty sure getting a good blood pressure reading is especially important on a pregnant lady. I waited for a long time, so please, at least do a good job!

This place literally doesn't cease to amaze me. It should have been an indication when I called patient services and didn't get a return phone call. Ever. So I called again and selected the option that I was a current patient, actually got a person (I'm pretty sure the only time that has ever happened), and explained my situation. This at least got me a return phone call the same day. Any recording you get, any e-mail any anything will get a response within 24-48 hours. I'm sorry but sometimes pregnant women need to talk to someone now, not whenever you feel like getting back to me. Hi I want to pay my bill? Oh yes, they'll call you back-- in 24-48 hours when its convenient for them.

Such a great place! They were so compassionate and explained everything. Absolutely zero judgment and they walked me through everything. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for an obgyn. Also I called as a new patient and was seen the same day which is almost unheard of as every other office I called was scheduled out for months and wouldn't take a new patient regardless of the reason.
