There's no place better for health care. The people are wonderful the tests are thorough And I always leave feeling positive.

My mother had excellent care at Mayo Jax in the 90's - all Drs were from the original Cleveland Clinic and were wonderful. Now it's considered a "teaching hospital" so when I call every year to see a primary Dr I'm told they weren't interested in any of my medical problems! Yet I know others who say they just called appointments and got in - I'm totally confused. When I tried to get my mother in, I was told to go to the ER and they would admit her and she would remain a Mayo patient. They were wonderful and all truly inspired confidence in me. Unfortunately that doesn't work anymore. I was recently I referred to Mayo ER and saw a specialist soon thereafter I really liked. However not even the specialist could get me into a primary! The Drs. there now are from the local area and are referred to as "interns". They stay for a short period of time and return to their practice - so it's kind of "hit or miss". Very disappointing...

Very friendly and extremely efficient. Very little wasted time. A Beautiful campus

I was an inpatient for a kidney infection and some other things. The doctors were amazing. The e perience was exceptional. The only thing I would say was awful was having to have a bed alarm on. I have since researched it but cannot find if it’s lawful and if I can refuse it or not. Other than the bed alarm, I am very happy with the care I received and i highly recommend this hospital to anyone who requires great care and service. Remarkable hospital

THE DISNEYLAND OF HOSPITALS! From the doctors to the cafe staff, everyone is polite and happy to be here! We have been to many hospitals and Mayo is the best hands down! The doctors are very personable and listen to you. They actually take their time in their visit with you as if you were their only visit for the day. The appointments are coordinated so all physicians can be seen same day. The teams are always on schedule and most of all eager to ensure patients are given the best care! The patient portal app is amazing. The portal allows you to view all upcoming appointments, see lab results, ask the doctors questions via message with quick responses. Thank you Mayo Clinic Jacksonville!

Their primary care department will only see you if you live “locally”. I live about 90 miles from Jacksonville in Florida but that is apparently not “local” enough. I could go there for fragmented subspecialty care from multiple subspecialists but not someone to coordinate it. Exactly the problem with health care today.

Do not trust Mayo Oncology. Dr. Tan and his team did my mother a huge disservice and essentially ignored her during treatment for Melanoma causing her decline and death 4 months later. They sold her a 92K treatment at 75 years old that they knew would kill her. Severe side effects were not explained in detail and monitoring of the patient is done 100% through an app on your phone. Her heath continued to decline from lack of monitoring and was then denied another treatment to strop progression of immunotherapy and all the terrible side effects and was told insurance declined but to just "wait" and mayo will try and recode in attempt to get it covered. We offered to pay OUT OF POCKET for the treatment and were told no by Mayo and pushed off the radar. In the meantime my mother's colon burst and then, wouldn't you know, they had to perform an emergency irreversible ileostomy at the tune of thousand of more dollars. Mayo is not the be-all end-all of hospitals. The lack of patient care is astounding and disgusting. They are coffin chasers and only look out for themselves. RUN from this place if you have cancer.

I love this organization, everyone here is so friendly, professional, helpful and work very hard to provide exceptional care for the patients. The clinic is very well organized, clean and their medical technology is always the most advanced in the business. The Bundy cafe located inside the clinic offers great variety of breakfast and lunch items. I really like their chicken and grits, so delicious. The outside seating is very nice during fall and spring time. The surrounding areas are great to walk around, relax and really enjoy what nature has to offer. The trees are beautiful, the pond is big and air is quite nice and breezy in the morning and evening. The types of medical services they offer here are pretty impressive and the staff is always on top of their game.

I had high hopes that my problem would be diagnosed and resolved but neither happened. I still have the same issue, nothing has changed and I am very upset that we spent the money and the time for absolutely no results or treatment to stop what I go through every single day.

Usual to get appointments scheduled on the same day; and I got 3 scheduled - doctors will run all types of tests to find out what the problem may be.

The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville earns more than 5 ***** Stars! Their teamwork approach of treating a patient is outstanding and quite frankly, unheard of. Their doctors are some of the best of the best and their facility feels more like a museum/airport than a hospital. Their Lung Transplant Team is outstanding and the best in the country. They saved my life by performing a double-lung transplant right on time! All in all, The Mayo Clinic stands far above any hospital in the Country and delivers first-class care to all of their patients.

John Bird

Ridiculously overpriced for just average care. Charged an arm and a leg for a visit, under the guises of world-class facility. Nothing about the experience or care given justifies their expense. Several others have posted this same complaint, which I should have heeded.

Joesph Kreitzer

I absolutely love this hospital! I was diagnosed with a bone disease back in 2010 I lived my whole life around the disease, I spent thousands of dollars trying to deal with it but nothing worked for me until I came to The Mayo Clinic. It turns out that I didn’t even have the disease that I was diagnosed with back in 2010! I received great care from my team of doctors and now my life is great! Thank you so much!

Hope Lonstein

Very impressive. The Drs I’m seeing seem very through. The nursing staff and the general staff are all very helpful, friendly and patient. The grounds a very peaceful, relaxing and beautiful.

Alesia Crosby

I love the mayo clinic! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! They treat you like a person and they actually care!

Horrendous service at The Mayo in Jacksonville, Fl. Scheduling department is filled with ill equiped employees that blindly schedule sick patients with emergent issues. I flew down and wasted 3 weeks to be shuffled around with lies while wasting insane money; because after all boarding and meals are free (sarcasm). I need specialists but they pencil me in 2-3 months out instead of providing care and answers; which was disclosed to me after the fact I flew down already and received a half assed assessment. More than ½ of their physicians left and they doubled up on patients instead. They do not care that you flew in and require help... they care about donations. The mental faculties of the staff need to be retrained because this isn’t how you treat sick and needy patients. Oh and good luck seeing another doctor if you’re dissatisfied.

Elizabeth Goodall

Great Dr's, the nurse's are wonderful and top notch hospital. Would not go anywhere else. Volunteers are kind and caring as well as all the staff. Best modern medical care ever. Very clean environment. Thank you all for your great care during my surgery and hospitalization. Bless all of you and bless you Dr Bowers, such a wonderful surgeon. My husband is now in the care of Mayo. I am sure his experience will be the same as mine was. His ♥ heart surgery is in the best hands ever. I trust mayo with his well being and a great outcome. Thank you all for your continuing devotion to all your patients.

The atrocious service registration and specifically Chris puts me through is deplorable. If you are transgender don’t come here! After my insurance pays hundreds of thousands this man in registration states several employees complained or took issue with my voicing my concerns over them calling me male name vs what was my preferred name in the system last visit. So he changed it this time to reflect male! Vindictive! I gave him a bit of advice last time about how to treat people. Strange he didn’t change it last time I was in here. This again is discrimination at its finest! The office of patient experience previously said they conceded and allowed female on my wrist band, but legal male name had to be on wrist band, but they put miss and had my preferred female name in the system. Tonight this bigoted man who has been slanderous and rude attacked me with this sly move. Lawsuits for transgender discrimination are alive and we have rights. I will not tolerate this!

I have made numerous calls to Neurology dept for appointment for and I am being told one year wait. My doctor even sent a STAT referral. I requested to be put on wait list. I was told there is NO wait list. WHAT? Then how do they know there is a one year wait. I was told to go to Minnesota. I live in south Florida. Are they going to foot the bill for that trip? What is going on here? I have two EXTREMELY rare and deadly diseases bumping heads with each other and need help now. Where do I go? HOPELESS in Florida

Dock Cooper

A great experience all around. Doctors that communicate, staff that are friendly and seem to care..The private room was large with a fold out couch and ample seating for visitors..Fast wifi in the room with a variety of cable channels on the large flat screen tv...I would not hesitate to fly or drive the distance needed to be examined and treated at this location.

Julia Fontera

Most frustrating thing I have ever experienced. I have a rare disease and need help. My doctor told me to make an appt with Mayo. I filled out the online form. They called back to schedule but I was on a customer call (I work full-time). I called back and got them right away and she says (Dermatology) we are not taking any new appts we have nothing open and can't schedule you. We have an extensive wait list. Thanks. I guess if you have Scaring Alopecia which is a extremely rare what in the heck am I supposed to do. How awful. Stop taking patients that are not serious. My doctor sent me to you and she will be so disappointed. Why even call me back. When you called back and left me a voicemail why in gods name did you tell me to call and make an appointment.

This is the place that's going to save my life! Glory Be to the brilliant surgeons and staff and to God who has made this all possible! Thank you

They treat you the way you would want your Mother treated. They have beautiful calming artwork on the walls. They give respect and dignity to everyone. Love the lab technicians! They are painless when it comes to drawing blood!! I included one of the many relaxing pictures for you to enjoy. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Amazing Rheumatologist Lady Doctor Florentina Berianu . She shows compasion and wonderful care with her patient I'm bless to have her taking care of me .

I had a kidney transplant here in 2014. Very happy that I chose this hospital. I visited twice before transplant, spent 30 days near by for daily follow ups after, and have returned for annual checkups ever since. Doctors, nurses, and staff are always professional, helpful, and informative. Appointments are very punctual and efficient. Buildings and grounds are very modern, clean, and well kept. Quiet suburban location. Sounds funny, but my favorite Florida hospital -- and I live over 300 miles away.

Astrni

I don't know if this is true or not but I think you guys should really look into this...

Have been going to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL since 2010. Did you know there is both the Mayo Hospital with an ER and the Mayo Clinic on the same location? There are also several hotels on the location with several others close by. Everything always very clean and staff courteous/professional. Have made numerous trips to the Mayo Clinic and will continue to do so as they are an elite establishment.

We have been going there for cancer treatment for almost a year. Our locale cancer center only wanted to do chemo and only gave my wife a year to live. Here she under 3 doctors care with a good chance of being able to have surgery to remove the cancer growth. With our insurance our cost is been more than reasonable, and yes they ask for donations, that is up to you. That is jow tbey get most of the funding for research . You do not have to be "rich" to go there. We have recommended the Mayo Clinic to several different people we know that are going through cancer I don't think you can find a better facility.

Anthony Dolce

Polite and on time with genuine concern for the patient

Ava-Bridget Hamilton

I was diagnosed wit autoimmune dezise. Mayo doctor from Romenis told me thT I was ok. I am tired all the time and feel pain in my hands and feet. She and her student who interviewed me ignored my concerns. Also I have been caughing for a year , more after presigere I got at Mayo. Still coughing. My dr did not really was interested in my complaints. Mayo is loosing creadibility . I believed in Mayo before, not anymore. If you are sick, go to NYC . That where you will get real help and see doctors who care.

John Lohn

We visited Mayo twice for my wife The medical care was excellent, it was really impressive how they are able to schedule so many tests in real time. I would have given a 5 except for the poor treatment with the billing department. Be very careful. I made the mistake of paying my bill in full prior to receiving the EOB from medicare. Medicare identified duplicate charges and I have not been able to get Mayo to refund my over payment, its been 8 months. Mayo said they would resubmit to Medicare but Medicare tells me they havent done anything to correct the issue. It's been so frustrating.

My husband, Don, received excellent care during the last 5 of his 7 year battle with renal cell cancer. Dr. Dr. Paz-Fumigalli's portal vein embolization in 2012 and his unwavering great advice truly helped in this battle. Dr. Horacio Asbun's extended right hepatectomy in May, 2013 was a very lengthy procedure but it dramatically slowed down the cancer. Dr. Winston Tan's consultations and ultimately, the clinical trial in 2015-2016, gave Don back his life as he used to know it. It wasn't as lengthy as we hoped,, but it was enough to restore hope. Dr. Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa and Dr. Deependra Mahato removed a golf ball sized brain tumor from behind Don's right eye last December and all brain MRIs ever since stayed clean. Dr. Byron May's radiation treatments helped that to happen. Pam Oldano, RN, stayed on the phone with me the night we suspected the brain tumor and Don needed a stat MRI. a 5-hour drive away. I want to be greedy and say it wasn't enough time, but ultimately, no matter how skilled the doctors and nurses are, only God gets the final say.

I traveled six hours from Miami with my mother for my scheduled appointment to do a consult about aortic aneurysm repair. She was 80 years old and in fairly good health otherwise they told me that she was too old and that they would monitor it and it became an emergency or over 3 1/2 cm they would operate. When it became 3.7 cm I returned for another scheduled appointment and was told again she was too old. I was also advised that she should not fly anymore as the increased pressure could cause the aneurysm to rupture. At her age traveling is the only thing that we love to do with her as she worked her whole life and now has opportunity to do so. She has had several strokes so after her UTI infection I took her to Indianapolis so that she could do intensive inpatient acute therapy to regain stability and walking etc. Her blood pressure went up and it is not her normal so they took her to the emergency room and her aortic aneurysm was leaking profusely they put a central line and started giving her transfusions of blood and proceeded to operate and fix the repair that we asked over a year ago to have fixed at Mayo clinic. She now has her life back thanks to the care of IU health in Indianapolis. Extremely disappointing to know that in Florida where there’s so many older people that being too old is the criteria for operation. We went into the procedure knowing that there is increased risk with age but that her quality of life would be regained with the operation. It is very disappointing to know that they are more worried about their statistics than the actual patients. I have heard so many good things about Mayo Clinic and was very disappointed.

One Reviewer

This review pertains to Mayo neurology, and to one clinician in particular. I have cross posted this on his profile - He walked in and immediately started talking about a medicine that was on my med list, that I don't take, and discussing with his student that this must be the cause of my symptom (that he read off his sheet of paper and didn't ask me about). So, from initial encounter, this was already not going well. I try to interject that I do not take that medication and he is not listening, so I say it louder. He is visibly aggravated, but tries respond civilly at least (so that's good I guess). The rest of the appointment was spent with him trying to make sure to prove that what he thought when he first walked in (before actually talking to me), was correct (that I'm having a similar reaction to what I would have if I was using said medicine). So he was quite detailed about trying to discover in the exam and explain that this was indeed correct. So I leave with a very detailed explanation stating essentially, that "this is nothing" (not in so many words), and no further investigation is necessary. At Mayo. Land of "research" and "patient comes first". And I am left with the same issue and a pretty suboptimal explanation for why I have, not only the one symptom he read off of his sheet of paper, but also, all of my confusing and admittedly scary likely neurological symptoms. It never ceases to amaze me how a very (apparently) intelligent person can be such a poor clinician and have such a huge chip on his/her shoulder that he/she is not insightful enough to recognize this, see past that, and get an accurate assessment. This is what happened. Ego was bruised, he was annoyed, and he spent the rest of the time trying to prove that his assumption prior to coming in the room was indeed correct. I would strongly suggest that this clinician reconsider his approach to getting an accurate history. If this is his typical M.O., I can pretty much guarantee a lot of people, besides I, leave feeling that their issue was not understood and not investigated properly and, worse yet, with missed and incorrect diagnosis'.

There are no words to describe the level of care and the professionalism of all the staff including the cafeteria “Olivia” Terry in medical records has been a gift of taking my stress down with all her support getting records. They put together a team and yes they communicate with each other. What an awesome experience. We travel by plane every 2 weeks. Yes it’s exhausting but well worth the excellent level of care. Dr Joseph. Carie his nurse and Cheryl his PA. DR Patel, DR B Colaco ,Dr Miller and Dr Ko. Now that’s a team. So don’t hesitate make the call.

Richard Williams

It is amazing that the Mayo Clinics are not connected to each other. I signed up to be a living donor for my mother at the Rochester MN. hospital. My mom had to move to the Jacksonville FL hospital and now everyone has to go through the whole process again. Not to mention when I kept asking the lady on the phone why the information could not be transferred from MN. to FL all she would say in a rude tone was I needed to go online and fill out the form.

Billy Davis

Great facility and great service !!! SECOND TO NONE !!!

Marianne Borchik

Our experience started out 5 star. As the year progresses they continue to disappoint. Scheduling errors, same tests over and over. After 10 months no progress or diagnosis. Last night we checked patient portal for schedule changes. This morning we check in at appointed time. An hour later "Your appointment was changed". No notice thank you very much.

Mark Koper

I never seen such a well organized hospital. Ever person there was accommodating and caring. They went above and beyond for my wife and me. My wife’s doctor even gave us his personal cell number if we had any questions. I wish all hospitals were like Mayo. My wife brain surgery went well and now in recovery. Mayo has really set the bar. Thank you everyone for taking great care of my wife and God bless you.

Lonnie Garcia

The best emergency room in Jacksonville

Lindsay Jones

Overall a great hospital as far as care goes. Only problem I have is lack of communication. Especially during a procedure. Should be someone appointed to keep the family updated on the progress of the procedure and the patient. Instead, we are left sitting for 6 hours with nothing to go on.

Nevaeh Mustepher

Not all that great as they make it seem, nurses come when they get ready, u have to wait to take ur medicine sometimes hour late. Some doctors don't care about ur health all they want is the money. It's not all good at Mayo clinic

Danielle Johnson

Best hospital I've ever been to and shortest wait time!! The ER staff was extremely friendly and showed actual concern for my issue. Also tried to cheer me up . Very Clean, professional, and organized for sure . From the time I signed the paper checking in I was immediately taken care of and taken back. They did everything to make me feel very relaxed and comfortable. I never felt forgotten about like you do in most hospitals. Great experience.

Jeremy Swank

I am very impressed with how clean and organized the facilities are at Mayo Clinic. It is the first time that I experience a hospital use an itinerary to plan their patient's visitation. It is a genius idea because it makes everything run smoothly and efficiently. More hospitals should adopt this method. Furthermore, I am impressed with how polite, helpful, and knowledgeable the staff are. In regards to the waiting time, I typically would be seen within 10 minutes. This is rather impressive for a large hospital with many patients. I went to Mayo Clinic because I had a Lisfranc injury, and I wanted a reputable hospital to take care of me. Dr. Shi did an amazing job, and I did not have any post-op issues at all.

MaryAnn Nason

Mayo Clinic is JAX has been a nightmare for us. Infection from Mohs surgery. Incorrectly administered DTaP vaccine before the birth of our first grandchild. Incorrectly diagnosed in cardiology....twice. Incomplete medical testing. Fragment of cataract surgery left in. Not given correct prescription after cataract surgery. They do not work in teams. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. The reason I am alive is because I have friends who are physicians in the NE who knew more and cared. I wish someone had told me.

endo48 wiseman

Wonderful caring staff and doctors. Love them for what they do.

Larry Holden

The facilities are impressive. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Everyone is happy and upbeat. That having been said I will never be back !! My sister transferred to Jacksonville from California because of their high success rate in liver transplants. She did all of their tests -- then more tests -- then more tests -- Soon it became clear that they are so concerned about their success statistics that they were unwilling to take ANY risk. The more tests they put her through the sicker she got which required more tests. She was poked and prodded for 6 straight months …. then she died still waiting for a transplant. The Mayo does not call that a failure and you will never hear about the untold number of patients they refused to help when they are telling everyone that wants to listen about how great they are.

James Sohol

They said they were so booked up with orthopedic spine problems, they couldn't make appt for me and I have good insurance , I don't believe there that busy they couldn't make appt, they need a better lie. That's ok, lots of great doctors out there and they have been saving my neis life, so with that I will give them 2 ĺstars, but not happy with no appt, I thought i better post it, to see if others run into the same thing.

Annie Doe

The Mayo Clinic discriminates against those on disability, which probably represents a majority of those who are disabled. Because come on if you can’t work how else are you gonna find ways to pay your bills and medical expenses. The only way for most to fund their expenses is through disability unless your a billionaire. Very discriminatory place, am surprised they are allowed to continue to operate when they discriminate against the disabled.

Frank Boone

Great place if you are ill.

Jack Bennett

I have nothing but good to say about mayo.

Dennis Tomlin

I have been being treated by various hospitals since becoming paralyzed more than 30 years. I have never been treated so well as I have been since I started being treated at Mayo Clinic. Everyone from floor sweepers to doctors, everyone treats you incredibly well. Your time is not wasted in waiting rooms. Doctors spend as much time with you as you need, as opposed to being dictated by insurance companies. They are a fantastic medical organization!

Carleen Degolyer

I just took my daughter to the Mayo Clinic for severe back pain that she has suffered with for over a year. She had seen countless doctors in Tampa had countless tests done and still nothing. We made an appt at Mayo with Dr. Rizzo. Right from the moment we walked in everyone was amazing from reception to registration. Then we met Dr Rizzo and his nurse who were both the consummate professional. He did the most thorough exam my daughter has ever had, he spent a lot of time talking to her and explaining his diagnosis and laid out a real plan to help her, Unlike the doctors that made her feel like the pain was all in her head. We started following his protocol immediately and are finally hopeful she will have her life back soon. Thank you so much Dr. Rizzo!!

Robert Harrington

I was told in western NY I had 6 months to 2 years to live and came to Jacksonville to be with my kids. I didn't know Mayo was here.. Someone said "why don't you go to mayo and see if they can help. They say I'm doing fine but check me often. I have two different types of cancer. They tell me even if it goes bad, they have several option they can go to before they would have to tell me I had a limited number of years to live. The diagnoses in Western NY was almost 4 years ago. two different types of cancer two different specialists and a great staff throughout the hospital.

Peter W

one could think it is a hotel in a" park like setting"Very friendly and organized hospital

Kevin Begos

Everyone has been great - very professional but also caring, organized, and friendly. Really a much better experience so far than other hospitals I've been to. Lots of good support at every stage of the process. I had to drive a ways to get here, but it was worth it.

Sean B

Would not be here without their incredible skill and help its been 3 years and they still are supporting me and being there for me my neurosurgeon really puts forth the effort to see me and make time for me if I am feeling just a little off one day knowing it could lead to something much much worse they make sure to take the best care of me every time I have to visit. My doctor understands the severity of my case and and will do whatever he needs to do to get me seen by him or his PA! I couldn't ask or find better care from anyone or any other facility that can "handle" my case this is the only place for me even if it is a 2 hour drive from home

Matt R

There is no better medical care than Mayo for cardiac intervention. We went through at least a dozen other cardiologist that all treated the symptoms but never had the knowledge to find the root cause and stop the heart disease from progressing. Mayo does bloodwork and tests that no others know about or do. We now have hope where there was once none. Mayo is cutting edge!

Linda Jones

If you can find another liver transplant center I encourage you to do so expeditiously. In 2011, my husband was diagnosed with Primary Sclerosing Cholangtis (PSC). This is a bile duct disease that causes liver failure and liver transplant is the only cure. We immediately researched transplant centers and decided to pursue Mayo in Jacksonville. It was a long ride (from VA to FL) for us but we wanted the best possible outcome for him. After yearly visits, tests and then twice a year visits, his disease was progressed. He followed all the rules, by eating large amounts of protein, following a low salt diet. He had so much hope for a transplant so he could live a normal life. His heath took a turn for the worse in the latter part of 2017. After being deferred at 4 committee meetings he was still deferred on October 31, 2018. My husband was a smoker (3 to 4 cigarettes a day) which we were honest with Mayo about from the beginning. Mayo did not tell us at any point in the 7 years that we were going there that being a smoker would omit him from being on the transplant list. The reason provided for the 4th deferral was that the transplant list had a no-nicotine-for-3-months policy. This was news to us and a major setback. We felt he would not make it for 3 more months because he was so sick already. Again, we followed all of the rules provided my Mayo the entire time and would have had my husband quit smoking long before had we been made aware of this policy. He had quit smoking only 2 weeks prior to this deferral. We had already rented an apartment in Jacksonville and were to move that week. He had to retire in June due to his health and I quit my job to move with him to wait for a transplant. After this unexpected deferral, we decided not to move to Florida. No need to uproot our lives yet as he was still not on the list for at least another couple of months. After a routine paracentesis (fluid draw from his abdomen) on November 12th he had complications from a bleed. He was at the point of having these done twice weekly. He was admitted into our local hospital and then transported to another hospital where a liver specialist was known for connecting patients to centers for transplant. We were desperate. But his condition declined with multiple infections, lung injury and renal failure. We never brought him home. He passed away a couple of weeks later. Never did we receive any condolences from any of the doctors who had seen him over these 7 years at Mayo. Our transplant coordinator was the most uncompassionate and incompetent person we had ever encountered during our years at Mayo. My husband and my children’s father was only 62 and now we must live our lives without him. We relied on Mayo without reservation and it was all for nothing. The advice I have for others seeking transplant is to not rely on Mayo to advocate for you or to communicate clearly, in addition I would not put all your eggs in one transplant center’s basket. Connect with multiple centers so that your odds of getting on the list increase. I hope your loved one’s life can be saved. We had so much hope for my husband’s life after-transplant.

The doctors here are amazing! Found a diagnosis within 2 days of arrival after being sick, and in pain for over a decade.

Alex Honest Reviewer

This is a pretend hospital. Nice clean modern appearance to fool you but it is staffed with third world red neck staff. The support staff is arrogant, you will always be treated with arrogance and disregard. Only one thing this hospital cares about which is how much money they can get out of you and your insurance. You will never be able to speak to a doctor, it will always be one of those red necks. I am a healthcare professional and know what I am talking about. I completely hold this hospital responsible for the death of my wife at 45. Don't be fooled by the appearance or the name, this is not Minnesota.

Arthur Busch

Amazing service. Never been to a place where the doctor was so smart and actually spent time to listen.

Connie Valentine

Best staff of any hospital I have ever visited. Best hospital experience ever!

Amazing doctor's an nurses. Great hospital!

Wow! I am shocked to read so many negative reviews about the clinic that restored my quality of life. I have been a patient of the Mayo Jax since 1993 and have never received anything but quality care here. I have been seen on every floor except one, and have been cared for by nearly all of the departments. I have had two surgical procedures through Mayo and another hospitalization for a nonsurgical stay. Dr. Thomas Flipse, the cardiologist I saw years ago quickly diagnosed the condition that had left my local doctors stumped. Treatment was long and complicated but they hung in there with me. Dr. John Mentel of Internal/ Family medicine cared for me for more than twenty years. I miss him still! I am receiving excellent quality care now from Dr. Jane Cooper We are blue collar folks: my husband is a Teamster with good insurance and I am a retired teacher. While we have received the occasional appeal for donations (which I receive from countless organizations), I have never felt pressured to give. I love the campus, the efficiency, the compassion, and quality of care I receive here. I recommend the Mayo Clinic every chance I have. I am sad for those who have had such different experiences from ours.

My mother has gastroparesis and it was recommended we see the MD at the Mayo Gastroenterology clinic for strategies to manage her problem. They were a big help and helped her be more comfortable for a long time.

Mayo Clinic has provided the best medical care I've ever had. After scene over 10 doctors of all Specialties who can diagnose me with anything, no it's Mayo Clinic and I got my diagnosis finally. They sent me to multiple specialist that could help me understand my new conditions. They helped me learn to function with my new normal and it is really increase my quality of life and I am so grateful to have been a patient there.

Mad Piper

Medical staff is exemplary but the support staff is lacking. There was a time when both were top shelf, not any more. Scheduling for complex processes used to be easy, call Mayo, let them know when we can be in town, pick a range of dates sufficiently in the future and when we arrived, we could get it all done in short order. This was possible because Mayo had people that could coordinate between departments and get things set up like dominoes. Now, you have too call each department yourself, so one "we can't do that" send you into a tailspin of replanning. As I said, the doctor part is flawless once you get past scheduling. Dealing with the billing folks is no better than with the scheduling people. Mayo needs to be careful,. They worked hard for their top dog ratings, practices are putting that in jeopardy.

Mayo Clinic act as if they care but they do not. They are in it for the MONEY and that’s all. I spent over 57 mins yesterday after being bounced around to 4 different people to find out at the end of the call they do not take Medicare assignment. They could have told me that upfront and not wasted an hour of my time. My med-sup plan does cover the extra 15% they charge so I called back today to make an appt. After 2 phone and 5 people I got to the right one that told me how it all works and that after the initial 60 min appt I would come back for follow up appts with the depts I needed to see. Since I live 3 hrs. away I ask if I could have all appt in the same day or 2 days back to back. She said yes but that may make it 3 months for you to get back. After going over that in great detail saying I should get back as soon as possible I said I would rather wait for at least 2 appts together and she replied ok. I then said let’s make the initial appt, then after all the time, 1/2 hr. she said we have no appt and to call back next year in Jan to see if they were taking appts then, You can't even get on a waiting list or call back every day as they don't want to be bothered. All the care qb0out is how much money they will make of you. My step-daughters roommate at school get in within a month but then her dad is a multi-millionaire. They only thing that can get you help at Mayo Clinic is big big money and that's it. They care nothing for a patient's need but only how big their wallet is. Typical medical scum, I have learned in the last 2 days the fact finding they do is to see how much money you have and to see what the chances are of them getting as much as they can. What I did keep from them is that our net worth is just a little under $2mil. But if all they are interested in is how much money we have that they can get then I have no interest in any clinic of doctor that is interested in only your bank acct. I know how that works, my 2 year younger brother is an extremely wealthy doctor who is a multi-millionaire who owns a clinic in Atlanta but there is one difference, he sees all patients that need his clinic, this is 100% true. He told me ahead of time I would not get an appt if I acted average middle class and if I told them how much I was really worth like the people we know in Tampa who got their daughter in in a month. I tested the MONEY system the Mayo uses and my brother was completely accurate. Buyer beware, it’s only your wallet they have true interested in and not you or your health. Mr. E

Dwayne Harmon

An excellent hospital and staff.

Greg Riggs

Every doctor there is compassionate and knowledgeable. Spend a lot of time with you

Barry Barker

My wife had surgery at Mayo with Dr. Bowers one month ago. We were treated with compassion and understanding in a very professional way by everyone from the front door to the discharge door. The staff was not aware that I was a physician and their treatment of my wife as well as Dr. Bowers handling of her medical issues, restored my faith in the art and practice of medicine. In this day and age where everything revolves around the dollar, the subject of money or over staying of an insurance plan was never mentioned. Every procedure carries potential risks and I am sorry some have had problems @ Mayo, but I, for one, will continue to recommend this hospital and staff and if medical services are needed in the future, would not hesitate to return.

Sandy Koenig

Fantastic place.Great Doctors, Nurses and everyone there is Fantastic..

Cory Anderson

The good: Beautiful campus. Short wait times and overall very friendly staff. I called and setup appointments and got into the online portal and everything seemed like it was going great. I was seeking a specialist for a very specific disease and was assured I was going to meet with the doctors I was looking for. I went through the complete preauth, eligibility and patient lookup. I provided 6 years of medical history (forms, imaging, etc.) and when I arrived they imported all of this data seamlessly into their system. When I met with the specialist, I was given a good amount of time for discussion / review. The doctor walked me through the imaging screens that our previous doctors had failed to do. The luke warm: The specialists I was setup to meet was a resident and it seemed as he intended to treat my condition as an exercise. He ordered batteries of tests, quite a few that had just been ran within the past 7 days and then tests that were deemed experimental. I would like to chalk this up to being thorough but still not 100% sure. The bad: The Mayo billing office was awful. We went through a thorough preauth / eligibility process. The specialist we called to seek was in network but the alternate NPI billing id's used by Mayo were not. Mayo eligibility was adamant that we were in good shape so we drove over 20 hours total and spent a weeks worth of lodging in a coastal town (not cheap) to visit the facility. When the billing issues were discovered (after our first appointment), Mayo only let us know that the "experimental" test was not going to be covered. Soon after my own calls (over 5 hours of back and forth), my insurance informed me that Mayo was unwilling to bill through the process that they needed to consider the charges in network. This error in eligibility check was the difference of around $20k. All Mayo will say is they are sorry their eligibility person (who they can not identify magically) made an error. Conclusion: If money is no issue and you don't mind going through extra tests that might not be necessary, Mayo may be a great option for you. If you are in the new insurance world, DO NOT trust their eligibility people. Get their tax ids, provider and facility NPI numbers, ICD diagnosis codes and CPT codes and check with your insurance carrier as much as possible before letting Mayo generate any charges on your behalf.

I was impressed on how thorough the Dr n nurses was.

Lisa Camp

If you had a negative I would place a -25 for this hospital as my brother is being sent home because he does not have insurance and he needs a heart transplant ...because he’s 67 that’s old for them, really???!!! for some reason and no insurance they’re sending him home to die ....

Bill Ehmann

5 surgeries at Mayo with excellent results. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Christopher Campione

Going on 2 hours in the ER waiting room. It's the middle of the day and there are only two other people in the waiting room.

K Hinton

Would not recommend Mayo in Jacksonville for treatment of complex disorders. They shuffled me around to multiple specialists for unnecessary, unrelated and repeated tests, none of which resulted in any treatment whatsoever, not even a medication to treat the symptoms for which i was seen. While a couple of the doctors I saw were pleasant, their physician teamwork, communication, skill, diagnostic ability and "care" for complex disorders was no better than the local hospital down the road. Overpriced and overrated.

Donna Monroe

the very best care you could have. everyone is so professional. the level of care is superb.

Judy D - travel and be inspired

Best hospital with the best customer service. Great staff. Loved my doc and his team. If you're getting the run around, and you want answers and options...go to Mayo!

Tammy Kragenbrink

Just Amazing My daughter was being treated for a very complex seizure condition and the entire staff there was amazing. They go above and beyond in everything they do. Blood work is scheduled around your other visits as is everything else. One nurse told me "we will accommodate you don't worry about that". Very refreshing! Being transferred from another hospital is terrible and I really wish they would work on that process especially for established patients. But the hospital stay was top notch. Your meals are sent when you request them and you order them from a menu. Especially helpful for picky eaters. Going into surgery, my daughter was given a heated hospital gown to make her comfortable. These are just little things but they are the little things that set this hospital apart from all others. I feel her doctors communicate extremely well with each other and their staff as well. I have not met one member of this hospital that didn't go out of their way to be caring and knowledgeable.

Judy Walters

Excellent atmosphere from Physicians to Nurses and all Staff. The care and attention they give is absolutely amazing. Have been here for over 10 years and they have always taken care of me and my family. #1 hospital

Jennifer Sanchez

Absolutely fantastic clinic. Their facility is very large but extremely clean and efficiently organized. Truly amazing doctors and staff that are genuinely concerned with patients care.

Lisa Hunt

Excellent care and very organized. If you need medical care or diagnostics it is a very good option.

Robert O'Steen

I went for cancer treatment and received the best care I could have hoped for. The treatments were not easy but the staff was amazing. Very caring and compassionate and made the tough days easier to deal with. Glad to have Mayo in my backyard.

Bob Shipp

I am alive today because of the excellent surgery by Dr. David Thiel who is the very best. I have seen about 10 different doctors at Mayo Jacksonville, FL, and rate all of them A+

Isaline Boyd

I was extremely impressed with the service provided. Everyone from the parking attendant , receptionist Units/Department staff exhibit excellent caring serve. My experience there was one of caring, kindness and made me feel very much at easy. Thank everyone for the kindness that was shown to me. You truly are the best. Izzy

Curtis O Williams

Superb customer service, best med, and support staff. Beautiful campus, happy uplifting environment. Just about every visitor, vendor and staff greet each other with a smile.

Ali rahbar

Being a Canadian and paying out of pocket was hard. Most of the doctor that I encounter were very professional . The only complaint that I have medical records were not reviewed properly and unnecessary appointments were made.

Nikki White

Very efficient and friendly staff

Kristen Taylor

Only hospital I use and I'm 8 hours away ,these doctors are hands down the best.

Gary Jewell

I took my wife to Mayo Jacksonville after she was diagnosed locally with lung cancer that spread to her brain. She was only 58. We knew that we needed a miracle. Dr. Ko offered us that miracle and claimed that his treatment plan was curative. My wife was put through a regimen of aggressive lung and brain radiation treatments. The side effects of these treatments were not thoroughly or openly and honestly explained to us beforehand. She died within weeks. It is my opinion that from Mayo Clinic's perspective my wife was simply a revenue generator, and they knew that from the beginning. Our insurance company paid them 1.1 million dollars.

jennifer williams

From a medical professional point of view, the Mayo Clinic is a disgrace. They have no interest in helping anyone but their own pockets. My fiancee has been shuffled from one department to the next without proper care or testing. The final straw came when he physically presented with muscle wasting from nerve damage(after a year of telling his doctors at Mayo there is something wrong) . You can actually see where the muscle is gone. Went to Mayo in this condition and they did nothing. Suggested physical therapy when he can't lift, use or even feel his arm. We have now gone to another specialist who is helping him, and that doctor can't believe Mayo let this go this far.

patrisha turner

Awesome group of Doctors and staff....They have been really good to from the time I started going 2016 to now 2019

Blkbrbi B

This hospital and doctors especially pulmononary are better than excellent. They absolutely saved my life and I am forever grateful. They have stellar staff, nurses, doctors, etc. You'd be hard pressed to find a much better facility.

Blake King

This was my second time at Mayo Clinic in Florida. The last time I was here was before and after the evacuation for Hurricane Matthew for several departments including General Medicine. I highly recommend Dr. Julio Gundian if you need a second opinion regarding urological surgery. My doctor in Miami was ready to do a urethroplasty ASAP and Dr. Gundian preformed a cystoscopy and said surgery was unnecessary, For that I am forever thankful to Dr. Gundian for saving me from a major operation and am also thankful for the staff at Mayo for getting me in so quickly and efficiently.

Dana Joy

One of the best facilities I have ever gone to. The doctors are amazing and so is the staff. Been going since 2009 and I have never had a bad experience.

Dominique Vannetzel

Worked in the diet clerk office for Morrison (food services) QUIT because of how nasty and rude everyone was I came in contact with and now trying to figure how to get paid because they sent to my home address and not my mailing. NOW NOBODY WILL CALL ME BACK ABOUT HOW IM GOING TO GET MY NEXT 2 CHECKS which is extremely aggravating and unprofessional. I have CHILDREN and feel as if they are purposely ignoring me attempts to reach out to someone about this issue. For such a “upscale” hospital I’ve been treated better as a employee at Shands of all places. Sorry for the rant.. thanks Marie and Rachel Shay for NO help or returning my calls.

J C

What a great experience (if you can get a Dr. here) you're in luck. They make a a policy to take their time with every patient — a big difference. The World's Cutest Baby goes here and they don't make a big deal about it, which is great. It's hard to enjoy everyday activities when you're being bombarded by fans...

Douglas J. O'Brien

Northeast Florida is BLESSED to have a Mayo Clinic in our region! In addition to many excellent doctors and nurses, Mayo clinic also has many labs and a major research campus here as well. My mother had a very complex cancer case and the level of care and expertise she received was amazing.

Santiago Gzz

Facilities are impressive, state of the art. Everyone is cheerful and happy. I went to my appointment optimistic as I was listened to and asked a bunch of questions before coming. The doctor didn't seem to know anything. I had to tell him everything again. He ordered some exams and blood tests. They have no idea what they're doing. I never even saw the doctor again. I was referred to another doctor, which again, didn't know anything except my test results. They send you to every exam possible even if you don't need it to rip you off. I paid for everything out of pocket and I'm really disappointed in a facility that just seems to want your money. Then the brilliant people who do the scheduling gave me an exam after my doctor's appointment which I have no idea why if he had already sent me off with no treatment and no diagnosis. Being an International patient I had to pay for travel, hotels, transportation to get to the dissapointing Mayo Clinic. A patient cured is a customer lost.

Stephen Gunter

Need to update your webpage, you cannot get an appointment for Neurological services for at least a year from now. Why offer what you cannot provide.

Mark Fosse

The truth about Mayo Clinic. They have good doctors that are underpaid. The management is geared towards people who have money and can make donations. They DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU if you don't have money. They botched my surgery really bad. Then told me they would continue my care. They did, until the statute of limitations ran out. Then management told me that they have done all they can and they will write off my bill, just sign this, and can go seek help from other Doctors, and if I still need help to call them and I can come back no problem at all. I did pay a lot of my bill myself and offered to give them cash up front. My insurance also paid a lot of money to them. I've called, written, emailed, for the past few years and they will NOT give me an appointment with no explanation. The Doctors keep telling me they want to help me, when I see them at charity events and out. But management will not let that happen. They made a huge mistake when they did my surgery and now they won't even talk to me. That is the real Mayo Clinic. If you have money or know a politician, celebrity, or someone on their Board of director's. You are in. Make a donation and you get the red carpet. If they can use you for public relations or advertising, news or a charity. That will work too. The one in Minnesota is excellent but, MAYO CLINIC JACKSONVILLE IS A SCAM.

Dylan Hart

It cost me $3,361 for them to figure out I had mono. Interesting.

Jim Hammond

We've been waiting one hour for prescription to be filled. Poor experience!

Shara Hart

What an impressive and wonderful experience I've had at Mayo Clinic (specifically the Breast Center). If you have any breast concerns - or even just annual exams, I highly recommend the Mayo Clinic. The breast center is beautiful and relaxing..it sounds strange but I almost felt like I was at the spa! I was amazed by how well I was taken care of...from making the appointments, to receiving a final diagnosis. Everything ran so smoothly and top notch. Every single person that I encountered from registration to the doctors were always so kind, caring and compassionate. There are SO many people that visit Mayo but everything seemed to run so smoothly - I don't think I ever waited more than 10 minutes for anything. I love their patient portal where I can access all my records and even send messages to the breast center (which they've always answered within a few hours). Truly amazing and quality health clinic.

Mal W

I wanted to establish care at this facility because Mayo Clinic has a reputation of being one of the best in the country. This may apply to research and other areas but patient care and customer service is lackluster. I was on a months-long waiting list and finally assigned to a doctor at this location. The appointment went great, the intake was very thorough and the physician seemed compassionate and professional. They have a patient portal system where you can contact your provider directly and receive a response within 48 hours. I had some important things going on that required follow up and the doctor simply ignored the portal correspondence. I called to get information and was transferred to a new team. Because I have heard better things about the Gate Parkway location and it is more convenient distance wise, I said I would have preferred that transfer. There were sensitive issues noted in my chart and when I tried to explain to the scheduler at San Pablo, she became audibly frustrated...sighing loudly. Once we had everything documented, I was explaining one more thing and she hung up on me. I called Gate Parkway myself and the lady, Maria, was very nice and sympathetic but it was a situation that needed to go to her supervisor. I left a voicemail that was not returned. I filed a written compliant/inquiry with the Patient Advocate that was also ignored. Not sure what the discord and disconnect is here. Lack of and/or poor communication is unacceptable, as is blatantly rude customer service. I don't know if they're too busy, they just don't care, or it is a level of arrogance being associated with such a reputable organization. It takes only a few minutes to return a call or type a message. Even if you don't have an answer, at least do your job and acknowledge correspondence directed to you. This was a disappointing and frustrating experience for me. I take my health seriously so instead of arguing with, crossing fingers, or begging professionals to do their job...I'll take my insurance elsewhere and hopefully be treated like a human being.

Matthew Haworth

Nice facility, that’s about it. Not worth the 3 hour drive. If you feel like you’ve exhausted your options, don’t let Mayo Clinic be your next let down. Keep trying :) just not here. They do not offer much of anything in terms of chronic pain

Sharon Pierce-Perrault

Wonderful Experience

Renee R

Excellent hospital and out patient treatment center! The needs of the patients always come first. I love Mayo Clinic!!!! 10 stars

A google user

Saved my mother’s life, when she was misdiagnosed by a couple of other hospitals in the area. They found the problem, and it was most definitely not, “food poisoning.” Mayo Clinic, thank you so much.

Gary Strickland

My wife transferred from another hospital who botched her care. Mayo in Jacksonville is an amazing place. They took her in and done an assessment. In no time my wife was on the road to recovery. I cannot say enough good things about the care my wife received at Mayo. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants the best care!

Cathy Leibman

Outstanding hospital for Pulmonary care...the Pulmonary Hypertension team is superb. Great service and wonderful friendly caring staff in all departments & testing areas I have been in (Pulmonary, Echocardiogram, MRI, blood, ICU.) Mayo Clinic saved my life, and their ongoing care for long term rare disease care is wonderful.

Lisa Johnson

I am extremely disappointed by the pain department of this facility. For RSD/CRPS patients, it becomes rapidly clear that different large hospitals with pain departments have vastly differing ideas about how to proceed with treatment and care for this very rare condition. Not only am I disappointed about the lack of treatment options this facility appears to offers for this patient group, but I am even more distressed by a doctor who has a staff member call a patient tell them, without this doctor ever seeing them, that his recommendation for them is a 3 week outpatient program for pain management. There are so many reasons why this is a terrible recommendation for the patient, but alas, this arrogant doctor doesn't even think he needs to see them before determining their needs. This is reckless, and I hate to say it, but he may not have vital information that could cause him to be liable for negligent care. It's absurd that I ever got this phone call from Mayo, and yet, I'm glad I did, because it speaks untold volumes.. Be very careful and do your homework RSD/CRPS patients. Your care will may need to be multidisciplinary and complex. Knowing, as I do, that in some cases, such as mine, I am in a wheelchair and could never, day in and day out, get to and from an outpatient program without first being made capable of such a task, it's laughable that Dr. nobody thinks he such a somebody. smh....

Sunset Seeker

Best place in Florida!! If you are looking for the right diagnosis and answers, they will get to the bottom of your problems and get answers. They do not leave anything to question. They are very thorough, and compassionate doctors, staff, ER dept. everyone there! This place is a breath of fresh air to the medical field. They discovered our diagnosis in 1 week and ruled every other possible diagnosis out. They have done what our local doctors, and several of them, tried to do in 2 yrs, er visits, lost work, HIGH bills and no answers. All the doctors local did is try this medicine, try this other one, oh maybe this maybe that?? BS. Go here if you want excellent health care. I will never go anywhere else and I live 6 hours away, but I will drive there even for a cold, flu, now that I have been here. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!

Ken Horkavy

Unbeatable service. This is how all medical services should be provided. They lay the foundation for excellence in treatment and research. The doctors are open minded, driven, and the service staff are exemplary.

One of high quality medical service hospital in US.

Have been coming here since 2015. Medical Dr's, and MOST staff 5 stars. Scheduling dept very hard to work with. Very insensitive to hardships, or needs of patient. When requesting changes I have been told, we schedule 3 months in advance, or another such story they think you will believe, so nothing we can do. However after getting Dr. Staff involved miracles happen. Its a battle to work with this dept. If this area of care was improved I would rate Mayo at 4.75 stars.

Takisha Richardson

I didn't realize there was a $3 charge for parking, which is very inexpensive but it was cash only and I was a dollar short. While visiting the gift shop cash back was not available and volunteers Mary and Teri chipped in a dollar so I wouldn't have to take an ATM fee hit. How priceless was that interaction. Those ladies impacted my day greatly in a positive way. My prayers were answered by those ladies. Thank you, Mayo clinic, for hiring such thoughtful volunteers to represent the true meaning of care giving...

Sidney Serrano

They treated me very well! So nice!

Herb Fox

I love the stress Free dogs working at the Mayo clinic..Louie the standard poodle and Wally the Labrador Retriever... they do thier job well..

Connie Nix

Professional! Best medical care I've ever had! Never a long wait & very thorough! Love everything about Mayo Clinic and staff!!

Gary Benvenuto

Best hospital ever! Nursing staff is the best! Great experience.

Omar al_azawi

Beth in the volunteering service are very bad, I wish if you change her..God Bless

Dawnmarie Kacachos Ingwell

Amazing doctors...exceptional care & diagnosis by Dr. Stark MD, surgical by Dr. Bagaria, MD and fantastic nursing staff who took care of us. We are forever grateful for Mayo.

Amanda Williams

Mayo is a very nice looking and clean hospital but prior to ANY services (especially blood work and other testing) make sure you REQUEST a billing estimate, they will not offer one to you. I was very happy with my neurology appointment but other than that, very disappointed. They don't really go above and beyond to look for explanations as to why you are suffering from the symptoms you are. I felt like I could have gotten the same level of care from any "regular" specialist back home.

Karen Weiss

As with many who come here, this is not our 1st visit nor will it be our last. We come from Charleston, SC where we have good healthcare but when you need expert care with multiple cancers, you need those who have experience.

Jenny Sg

Medical staff Stacy Shoester (nurse) was EXTREMELY unprofessional! She wore a short/ skin tight dress and thigh high boots which were highly inappropriate for the medical setting. She kept swinging her legs from under the desk exposing her underwear, multiple times. She then made it even worse when she sat in front of us on the medical bed, yet exposing herself AGAIN! She had a horrible attitude and was very disrespectful in a multitude of ways. Among that horrible experience, the doctor did not have the decency to even see us after over an hour of being there. When I reported the incident in full detail (which I have not in this review), management was nice but disclosed that they “went over dress code with this employee”. I am appalled at that response considering the severity of the incident. I am very disappointed because I personally have recommended this hospital multiple times to several family members and friends. We are currently still waiting (several weeks later) for further response to switch doctors and another appointment.

skip nielsen

I've been there twice now and it is an excellent facility. If you need the best medical treatment this is the place.

Make Gainz83

Went here in 2016 , didn't get any answers. Then later the discharged me as a patient. You need deep pockets to get anywhere with Mayo...

Benjamin Wilks

I do realize that there is alot of great healthcare workers and I am very thankful for them especially In combat zones plus mass shootings on to everyday emergencies. In my life i have battled through chronic pain and immune issues most of my life. Been through broken bones, tore nerves, concussions and seizures after being knocked out to even having over 600 allergy shots plus I was shot when I was 13 and it was almost fatal. I now walk with a walker and I'm 32. My dad died in June 2017 I boarded a plane 5 days later alone with my Walker and I was sad but excited that I was going to see the best medical team ever. Mayo clinic broke me. They tested eeg, blood work and a brain MRI. Got back to Arkansas and it took a long time to find a doctor. I'm on disability and the care here is really bad. Mayo clinic turned me in to collections and stopped helping me. when this country country collapses then healthcare will be a major blame. I Eat really well off little cash and my mom is my angel an hero who helps me. I'm a fighter but I'm dieing.

diana kasko

I was expecting more from mayo clinic since the staff interviewed my history and took the time to listen. But when i finally went for my appointment, the dermatologist didnt know what i was talking about and was very dismissive. She just didn't listen saying that the group i joined online must be like the antivaxers. She said she can't help ne if i don't wNt to use steroids which i lready said im allergic too. She said fgat doesnt exist. So adverse effect never happen to anyone....

Ana E.

My experience at Mayoclinic has been amazing! I flew in from New York and was blown away at how every single person who works here is so kind ,caring and pleasant. Not only are they caring but they are very thorough and professional. It's surreal. Elijah at the front desk mayo north 3 was exceptional. He remembered my name and always had a smile on his face. I would recommend anyone to come to this clinic. Superb!!!!

Patricia Fechtel

Nurses are great and doing their best understaffed. Not impressed with doctor care at all; beginning with her primary care not treating her year-long UTI because she didn't complain! Some people have high pain threshholds. She nearly collapsed and died in December. They removed 2' liver stones in January which helped her condition. My mom is there right now after 4 months of antibiotics to strengthen her for gall bladder removal on April 27th. Roller Coaster. If it wasn't for my dad being proactive they would've already killer her! We thought she was going to be released tomorrow to assisted care AND NOW she is in partial isolation for yet another abdomen infection that is difficult to treat!! Don't go here!!!

KEASHABAKER complete

If only I can give them a million stars they most definitely deserve it! Our entire experience from the time we pulled up to the emergency we were greeted with smiles and complementary valet parking! They made us feel sooo welcomed and got straight on their job as if they knew my husband medical history but it was our first time there! The doctors and nurses are sooo friendly caring and nurturing they go over and beyond their job! Nurse Kareem and your team in the emergency room we thank you all so much for caring!! Sickle cell isn’t easy to deal with but you all easily handled it and quickly got things under control! THANK YOU ALL AGAIN

Tami Dezarn

Great doctors. Dr Asbun (my surgeon) saved my life along with Dr. Canabal. Two of the BEST doctors ever and everyone (doctors and nurses) that worked so hard to save my life.

Andrew Collins

I came to the Mayo Clinic in 2018 seeking a second opinion regarding a somewhat rare condition that I have. Their doctor essentially called my doctor an idiot and ran numerous unnecessary tests that were not covered by my insurance. Mayo Clinic also failed to tell me that they were not covered by my insurance and demanded payment for them. Stay away from this place at all costs - I'd hit up Johns Hopkins or MD Anderson first.

Sidney Childress

only about one thing. To get as much money from you and your Insurance company as they can get . $500.00 to see a Doctor for 7min. The doctors could care less about what is wrong with you had better service at the V.A. clinic. $30,000 later and still no answer to my problem. If you complain they tell they cant see you anymore. yea know you banked off me.

Gail Myers

Not a good experience with emergency room. Let this place stick to research. They don't know about patient care though. My mom lost a leg due to their foolishness and incompetency. Don't send your lovef ones their for care.

Laura Ann Griffin

There is supposed to be transparency in Florida for billing so there are no surprises. Mayo refuses to abide by that law so many people get surprised when they receive their bills. When you try and find out before hand what a procedure will cost they will not tell you and they mislead you if you press them. Stay away from this place. Only people who are rich get to see their best doctors. They only let you see the doctors they assign to your case if you notice when you first call. If you ask to see one of the doctors who are highly rated by U.S. World News Report they tell you they are not available ever. What they mean is for "people like you." Middle class people get to see doctors who are sometimes worse than many doctors you can find in Jacksonville. And you will pay sometimes three times as much to see these less than standard doctors. Their business model is to send you for every possible test they can send you for in their building to make as much money as they can even though you don't need those tests. Most ethical doctors would not refer you for most of the tests they refer you for. So now you are beginning to see how they afford to build that beautiful campus in Jacksonville. Even if you have medicare they are not a medicare provider and so they are allowed to charge you under medicare rules no more than 15% above the allowed amount medicare charges. But when you get your bill you will not be able to figure out what amount you are supposed to pay and they won't help you and medicare won't either. So stay away from this place and look at some of the other one and two star google reviews and believe them. They will send your account to collections and ruin your credit even when they are wrong and under the Fair Credit Collection Act, you can only send them a letter telling them they are incorrect -it still ruins your credit.

I recently went to mayo in Jacksonville Florida with my boyfriend who has very severe back issues. The doctors there with the exception of Dr Scott Palmer were really awefull. They pretty much just swept his issues under the rug. For them to supposedly be the best of the best they are in my opinion the worst of the worst. The Drs are supposed to specialize in this area of medicine and just wrote my boyfriend off. In my opinion they really suck.

First impressions are everything and I am so relieved with how helpful Charlotte and Joanne at appointments have been. They were thorough, kind and patient! This is my first trip to Mayo and I had a lot of preliminary questions. (I especially appreciate Joanne's patience with answering all my follow up questions I had on my second call.)

If you are seeking help from a GI doctor in the Jacksonville, FL area, be cautious about utilizing Mayo Clinic. I have been working with Christina Tancreto since March of this year. I caught a tropical parasite that took her months to diagnose. She initially diagnosed me as taking too much Advil (wrong), something I very rarely take. I find it distressing that while suffering from a parasite, I was told my poor health was due to too much Advil. Still having terrible stomach issues. I've spent thousands of dollars on medications, tests, procedures, consultations, etc, not to mention the amount of time I've spent. I'm incredibly distressed with my experience. I've talked administrators and nurses (one who actually hung up on me - never had that happen before) who all refer me back to Christina. Christina is a practitioner - not a doctor. A reasonable person would understand my desire to see see her supervising physician (Dr. Lange) for his perspective. Those requests were denied. I recently requested to see a different GI doctor within Mayo, and that request has been denied. Christina's office is forwarding me back to my general practitioner. Shouldn't I be seeing a specialist who can perhaps find something Christina cannot? I thought Mayo Clinic had a great reputation for solving uncommon medical issues and for the great care and attention it has towards patients. I now find that questionable.

I traveled by air from southern Indiana to attend Mayo's Pain Rehabilitation Center. I'm been treated very poorly since arriving, and basically feel like I'm only a revenue stream for The Mayo Clinic. I was forced out of the Pain Rehabilitation program because I needed extra help and assistance. I asked for help and was flat out denied and treated like a "bad dog". This whole experience has me shocked, I would expect it from a small facility/hospital or doctors office, but to receive this kind of treatment from The Mayo Clinic has me baffled. The program here has some credibility and success, HOWEVER the implementation is horrifying for someone with RSD/CRPS. I'm been seeking help for the last 2.5 years since receiving a diagnosis, and multiple confirmations of said diagnosis. This included an awesome visit to The Cleveland Clinic, I can highly recommend going to The Cleveland Clinic, they were caring, compassionate, and informational about my complex condition. They gave me treatment options, and supported me with what ever decision I decided on. This trip was a serious waste of precious resources. I'm in my early 40's and basically confined to my home, I can only travel by car or plane for one trip a day, or about 4hrs because of my debilitating condition. PLEASE do a lot of research and reading reviews BEFORE considering a visit to The Mayo Clinic for any PAIN related condition. I'm a REVENUE stream only here. Good luck to you if your reading this, I understand what your experiencing.

Mayo Clinic Jacksonville saved my father's life 2 years ago. We had taken him to doctor after doctor near our home. They could not figure out what was wrong with him only told us he was dying. My family and I flew to Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and they immediately admitted him to the ER and later to their hospital facility. After 3 separate hospital stays at Mayo, dozens of test, and doctors during our two month stay we returned home and he is doing well. The doctors and staff there are amazing. So when my husband started having health issues we immediately returned to Mayo Jacksonville for his medical issues. My whole family is deeply grateful to Mayo Clinic. It is a beautiful spa like environment which gives you the serenity to endure the sickness you or your loved one may face.

Outstanding care from the physicians, diagnostic clinics and clinic staff. Everyone is warm, friendly, helpful and professional. From the valet to the clinician staff, the fear of visiting such a large institution is gone. The campus is beautiful, clean, bright and brilliantly designed to offer a secure sense of healing. The atmosphere is peaceful and promotes a feeling of hope within healthcare. Employees and staff are readily available to assist with any question, concern or assistance anyone may require. I am glad to have chosen this institution for my current healthcare needs.
