Admitted through the emergency room for a surprise disease. The doctors and staff were outstanding, especially Dr Schandorf. Really appreciated his visits and discussion of my treatments. Hats off to the Infectious Disease docs for their quick response to what could have quickly become more life threatening. The Coram rep (designated rep in the hospital) could have done a much better job explaining their role, service, and pricing of the doctor required home IV program, being up-front honest about the non-insurance covered cost of the antibiotic treatment, as a part of the total picture. There was some dancing around my cost that was troubling and raised alarms. He should share his knowledge of Medicare coverage as part of the sell. Coram's service (after hospital discharge) was excellent providing the required drugs and paraphernalia the next morning at my residence and having a nurse arrive to explain and teach their administration. Food was generally attractive but arrived just less than lukewarm. And please, NO cold sausage patty for breakfast. The cold grey look is yuck and the taste (if you dare) likely to cause a loss of appetite for the rest of the day. How lucky I was to be allowed a shower. Why is this a non-standard doctor's order requiring such supreme authority as I was quite medically and physically capable of tending this hygiene. My thanks to the nurses and their assistants for their excellent management and care of yours truly. Thank you.

I had surgery in their out patient center and it was by far the best experience I have ever had as a patient. You are given your own pre-op and post-op room in the surgery center. After surgery I was feeling really rough, I wanted to be left alone and trying to talk was too much effort. I could barely get out one word answers. The nurses couldn't quite leave me alone but they were there with pain meds and anti nausa meds every 4 hours when I needed them. They honored all my request for attempts at food and drink. I never felt rushed to hurry and go home. When I told the nurse I wasn't sure I could go home she was understanding and said that she stays till 6pm and we can reevaluate then. By 6pm I was ready to go home and I was able to make that decision myself. If I were to have another surgery I would go out of my way to make sure it was at doctors.

This includes the volunteer on the golf cart in the parking lot, everyone at registration/check-in, my radiology tech... all knowledgeable, competent, helpful, caring.

Had my mother in law in for breathing problems. She had fluid in her left lung. Dr B was on duty and recognized her. Keep her overnight. Dr B and Dr Lyons were great!! Sage was the nurse and he was very helpful and informative. Great service from the Er and 5th floor.

I had my hip replaced here on June 25. All my interactions with the wonderful staff at Doctors Hospital were friendly and efficient. The pre-testing went smoothly and the nurse made sure I knew exactly what to expect. The morning of surgery surprised me. Instead of clinical efficiency, I was met with personal, caring warmth. I was introduced to the nurse who stayed with me in a private for the first hour setting up my IV and making sure the correct info was on all my records. Then a 2nd nurse came into the room, introduced herself and said she would be with me until I went into the operating room. I was moved and she stayed by my side as a multitude of other people continued to prepare me. Each and every one introduced themselves and made sure they were dealing with the right person. Finallt, I met the surgery tech who said she would be in the OR the entire time with me. This continuity helped me relax and feel comfortable The surgery went smoothly and I woke up exactly when the surgeon had predicted. My care in PACU was excellent and I was moved to a nice private room where the excellent care continued. Through every step of the way I felt that I wasn’t just another case, I was a person who was valued. This hospital is the best I’ve ever been in as a patient!

Short 10 minutes the wait before being seen in back. I did have to wait about 1/2 hour to get medicine for the pain. Hospital staff is always kind and courteous.

After the procedure everyone was attentive and kind and again my comfort seemed to be their top priority. At discharge everything was explained clearly and simply. I had a total hip replacement done as a same day procedure. Doctors Same Day Surgery made this as stress free a day and enjoyable as these things can be (there is only so much anyone can do!). Everyone involved exuded professionalism and the day went off without a hitch. I was in at 7:00 am and on my way home by 1:30 pm with a new hip. Thanks to all!

All of the staff that assisted were wonderful. Especially the volunteer named Dee. I didnt get her last name. She signed me up for the H2U prior to my getting the blood test. I had told her I was hungry because I had fasted for 12 hours and she offered me the muffin she had brought for breakfast. I of course declined her offer but it was so absolutely touching and sweet of her. She made my day.

I am shocked. I was there less than an hour for a pain in my stomach. I had one scan, one shot, and a urine test and I got a bill for $22,928.29 wow!! I had to look at the bill three time. 2,000 I can understand but 22,928.29. I'm in disbelief. If you visit this hospital please count the cost first. All I can say is wow. Less than an hour cost more then your wages for a whole year.

I went there for a routine medical exam ordered by my doctor. A month later I was not able to review the results with my doctor because she did not have it. I have now spent nearly a week with calls, emails, contact form, filled out the authorization form, Facebook, etc. and they still will not send the results. they will comment please contact us directly, but when you do they will do nothing. They do the test, collect the money, and then just file the exam. I advise to go somewhere else.

My wife and I both had Rx for blood work. Mine was for pre-op and my wife's was for evaluation with a new physician. Wendy was our registrar. She was very helpful and knowledgeable of all of our needs. She also informed my wife that she had met her out of pocket and deductible requirements. Good news for us! The lab tech was very good at venous access and very professional in handling specimens. We really like Doctor's. My wife, Julie, had surgery on 4/29 there. She had an overnight stay and was treated exceptionally well. Thanks for caring!

The experience at Doctors Hospital was much better then expected. The staff was professional while maintaining that personal one on one attitude. That left me with they actually cared about me. The facility was antiseptically clean, modern and in excellent condition. Valet parking is available. If you park it yourself they will shuttle you via a golf cart. Nice! I am well satisfied with my overall experience. I would like to offer a suggestion. Surgeries cause all manner of side affects that Doctors and Hospitals are aware of. There are simple solutions that should be offered patients to reduce these side affects. As an example. Sedation is known to cause constipation. My Mother told me as a child that prunes solve constipation problems. I was constipated for 5 days after my sedation and procedure. My wife suggested prunes. I recalled my Mother’s advice and started eating prunes. Constipation was resolved in two days. Why would medical professionals not have enough concern for their patients to afford simple resolutions for known side affects? This may sound harsh but these simple natural solutions should be offered to prevent unnecessary discomfort. As a patient I am already uncomfortable from the procedure why add more discomfort? All that being said I will return to Doctors Hospital should the need arise in the future. P Tyson

Thank you for providing the opportunity to give you my review. This was my first operation and three night stay at this hospital. I had my right knee replaced. Orientation class, pre registration and pre tests went smoothly and on time. All volunteers were cheerful and helpful. Entry to hospital seemed dated and sparse. Surgery day arrival- Taken to room smaller than a closet to change and start IV. The nurse had very little room to work in this space. Taken to pre op cubicle. Again, a poorly lit space with cramped, curtained spaces. My view was of what looked like it was once a curtained space turned into a makeshift office area. There was a cluttered cork board, bins of medical equipment and two computer stations. The anesthesiologists introduced themselves and stood one by one with their back to me while asking me questions and filling out their paperwork. The elevated table they used was facing the empty be next to me. During this process, unrelated conversations were going on between other staff coming and going. The entire situation seemed very casual to me. ( I have had surgery at other hospitals.) My husband found that the “notification board was rarely up dated with my status during the day. Dr. Dinenberg was my surgeon and everything went well. Care after arriving in my room. My personal belongings never made it to my room and where finally found. Nurses and assistants were very good and responded quickly to whatever I needed. Dieticians made requested changes and food was good, especially welcomed were the salads and wraps. The room was comfortable except for the view of the roof and parking garage. The Osprey nest on the light pole was active and entertaining. Physical therapy started day after surgery. Two days twice/day a man in street clothes with a crumpled list in his pocket helped me up and onto the walker. We walked to the nurses station and back and I bent my knee back and forth a bit. He wrote something on the paper and left. Saw him the next day as well. Day three, PT in scrubs, clipboard, measuring tool and belt helps me learn more movements and we walk a longer distance. He is extremely more professional! So, I wondered why there wasn’t more continuity in the services they provided. Checking out is always a mystery when no one seems to know what still needs to be done and who has to sign papers. So, that’s it. I am recovering well at home . Surgery was June 28, 2019. I hope that this is helpful when evaluating all departments in your Hospital. Gloria Pearse

I was recently treated at the Wound Care Center at Doctors Hospital following a burn to my hand. I attended five separate appointments, each time I was taken straight back to a room with no wait. The staff were amazing, kind and compassionate. They answered all of my questions and concerns thoroughly. I would highly recommend the Wound Care Center at Doctors to my friends and family. I would not go anywhere else.

What a joke! Went in to get some X-rays taken from a fall the nurse was so rude I left. Here’s a lesson when someone says they can’t take a certain medication it’s for a reason! I don’t need anyone schooling me on what I should do in order to take a medication that I cannot take. Maybe you should become a doctor or pharmacist and learn something about the patient before you badger them with your stupidly.

I went for a blood test a week before my doctors appointment. When I went to the doctor's appt they did not have my results. The office had to call the hospital to have them faxed over. Some one was not on the ball. My treatment at the hospital was fine.

Doctor's Hospital is a wonderful hospital and all nurses and doctors I have met have been thorough and compassionate. I have been in two other hospitals in the greater area and have found them severely lacking. Doctor's Hospital is the only hospital I will go to. I hope I never have an emergency where an ambulance brings me to the one I live very close to. The tests that are done help me feel that everything was done to find out what is wrong and what can be done about it. I'm very thankful to have a hospital of this quality available. Also, the wait is always very short.

I went to Doctors Hospital ER on Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton,, FL. I was really amazed at the excellent service I received while there. I was immediately taken bask, assessed by an RN, a CT scan was performed, and I immediately saw the Doctor. I was released within 45 minutes. I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

The staff within Doctors Hospital - Outpatient Surgery Center , were totally awesome. They were very caring, professionally friendly, accommodating, answered all of our questions and concerns. The family waiting area was staffed, comfortable seating, coffee, hot chocolate as well as fruit and snacks. At discharge the staff was only able to forward an RX script to the nearby Walgreens, our RX plan was only through Publix, resulted in ... we needed to pay out of pocket for the script. At 7:00 pm it was the better process. Thank you

The nursing care is uneven. Therese and Trish (or Trisha) were outstanding in every way. Yvette was also very good. The other nurses I had seemed abrupt and uncaring and too busy to attend to my needs. And I was not overly needy but I did have major surgery. The PT was good. The variety of food offered and the quality was much better from several years ago. But I don’t think they ever got my order totally correct

I want to start out by saying the over all experience of my surgical stay at the hospital from beginning to end was outstanding. . The care , professional. The attitudes of the employees upbeat and positive.cleanliness and maintenance of my room and bed were consistent. Nursing being the bright spot and upper level type experience for a 7 day stay was an amazing feat , and coming from someone who had in the past stayed 19 days , and 9 in other hospitals . I would like to personally thank everyone that helped me through a very difficult time anc made my stay and experience at doctors hospital the best experience it could be ! Dr. Biondolillo, nurses and the rest of the staff in their new ER at Lakewwod Ranch are caring and knowledgeable. I was seen right away when I walked In, placed comfortably on bed and performed all of the necessary monitoring, intervention and tests. I was admitted for a day in their hospital at Sarasota and doctors, nurses and all of the hospital who participated in my care are genuine and caring. I would like to make a special mention to Dr Sach, cardiology doctor for his professional and quick management of my symptoms ; to Arlene - night nurse in 5th floor for being so caring and for making me feel so comfortable during my one night stay in the hospital.

My wife was transferred here. Our first choice was different. We were told they had the only beds. Upon arrival no beds and no doctors. Spent 4 hours in a hallway. Got a room and spent a total of 15 hours and never seen a doctor. Guess it was half off tee times. Never again. Avoid at all costs. Can't wait for the bill of non service which will be disputed.

Had total hip replacement on 4/24/19. Everything from registration (Tina) to discharge was outstanding! Doctor Stewart, OR staff, PA’s, Nurses, Nurse Assistants, PT staff and Volunteers were all outstanding! 5th floor staff provided excellent care. A special thanks to Nurse Pat who went above and beyond to make sure I had a walker delivered to my home upon my return! And physical therapist Kelly who started me on my recovery three hours after surgery!! I have previously had four surgeries at Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. Doctors Hospital is now my choice should the need arise in the future!

The entire staff took excellent care of me. The verbal response time to my call button was almost always within 30-60 seconds. The arrival of the nurse or assistant was exemplary. I would recommend Doctors Hospital a 10 on a scale of 1-10. My reverse shoulder replacement surgery went great. Dr. Dilligham did a superb job on my shoulder. My pain level was very minimal, requiring the lower pain meds dose as scripted. I was able to wean myself off strong pain medication to Extra Strength Tylenol within the third day after surgery.

I was admitted with a broken and dislocated ankle. I went to surgery right from the ER so everything went fast and my foot surgeon was in the hospital. ER care was good. When I went to the room after surgery I had some very attentive nurses and the night nurses were the best. I was not given any kind of morning care. No toothbrush offered for 2 days and never a washcloth or towel was offered Except. When the OT person came in she helped me take a bath later in the day, one time. I was not shown the menu in the room by anyone until he came and found it. I have been in your hospital many times and it seems each time the hands on nursing care slips a little more.

The nursing staff seemed inexperienced and at times rude. I asked my nurse at 3 AM to have my ice bag refilled and she said the aides would be coming around at 6 AM with ice. She apparently thought it was acceptable for me to wait three hours. Also, I needed help taking my leg pumps on and off to go to the bathroom. The nurse came in to take them off so I could get up and go, and rather than wait for me to finish so she could put the pumps back on, she told me I didn't need to wear them and left the room. The aides were all very attentive and polite.

When I went to the room after surgery I had some very attentive nurses and the night nurses were the best. I was not given any kind of morning care. No toothbrush offered for 2 days and never a washcloth or towel was offered Except. When the OT person came in she helped me take a bath later in the day, one time. While the lab came quickly to draw the labs the first phlebotomist, Kevin drew the wrong labs so a few hours later I had to have them redrawn. Then half the orders were sent to the ordering physician- Mike Damato while somehow the other half went to my primary Natalie Borg. This caused a lot of confusing AND a delay in my care. I will add Kevin and Alicia both had great bedside manner and are good phlebotomists.

My three year old broke out in a rash with what looked like a bunch of bites and it scared me so I rushed to Doctors Hospital. I only live five mins away so by time I got there her rash had faded almost completely and I started debating if we really needed to be there so I walk in and check her in and the nurse calls us back in the little room and I tell her I'm not sure if we really need to be here and I start explaining why and she interrupts me and says " I need you to hurry up and make a decision so I can get started" well my decision was to leave, that was completely rude!! I was a scared mom who wasn't sure what to do and she had no patience or compassion.

I went to the stand alone ER in Lakewood Ranch on 7/25 because I was having severe pain in my neck and head. Now, I have a high tolerance for pain. So, for me to think I need to go to the ER, it has to be really bad. Secondly, that night, I had a weird sensation in my head that really scared me. I walked in, told the front desk why I was there, and sat down. A few minutes later, a man (nurse David) slams through the door and begrudgingly asks me "Why are you here? This is an ER. We only see people who have an emergency." I began to explain why I was there and what led me to believe I needed to go to the ER. He, again, asked me "I don't understand why you are here. This is an ER. We only see people who have emergencies." I looked up at him and said, "look... I am not here because I had this undying urge to visit the ER. I am actually losing money by being her. If you have a problem with seeing me, I can take myself to Manatee Memorial." He finally took me back and did the intake. He was super nasty the entire time. The doctor and the rest of the staff were super nice. Nurse David, however, not so much. I did file an ethics complaint with Doctor's Hospital against Nurse David. Considering that I was having severe pain and had had a weird sensation in my head, it could have been a number of things that would not have shown externally. This nurse just assumed that I had come to the ER for a minor complaint. It is absolutely shameful that a medical professional would behave as he did. If you have a serious issue in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, please go to Sarasota Memorial, Manatee Memorial, or Lakewood Ranch Hospital. This stand alone ER is not really equipped or staffed to deal with anything other than triage. If you do have a serious medical emergency, they will just take you by ambulance to their hospital in Sarasota. Save yourself time and money by going to a real ER where the nurses will be professional and treat you with respect.

I have always gone to you're facility because of the quickness and attention you get there... this time I was more than disappointed... the woman in triage was nasty and barely looked at me or spoke to me, I could barely stand up right due to back and hip pain and she just walked away from me to the room she was bringing me to and I had to FIND HER!! As I was so far behind I didn’t see where she went. The nurse who cared for me was nice and efficient... seemed to care, but the Dr didn’t seem to care that I was in pain and hadn’t had my daily meds in more than a week and that I had been vomiting everything I tried to take in, including sips of water... she gave me an IV with fluids.. never touched me or checked me for anything, and then left the room. After a couple hours I had to ask for something to help my muscle spasms as they were so severe I was cramping up everywhere. She gave me a muscle relaxer and benydryl in my IV and it knocked me out. I was awoken by another nurse who was discharging me with a PRESCRIPTION PILL for nausea..... after I had explained to 3-4 different people that I hadn’t been able to keep my own meds down long enough for them to dissolve. Now I didn’t go to school for 8+ yrs, nor have I ever done a residency, but I’m quite sure I’m smart enough to know if MY pills won’t stay down, neither will those!!!! So your Drs and nurses with all their degrees did absolutely NOTHING for me... AND THE NURSE IN TRIAGE NEEDS A PERSONALITY and SOME EMPATHY!! it’s been a week since I’ve been seen and I can still not hold food or water down. I don’t think I’ll be back... I’ll put up with the long waits at Sarasota Memorial.

My husband and I both had knees replaced at this Hospital in the last four months. It is a very nice place. Pre-op and post-op care was wonderful. The first 24 hours on the ward the care was excellent. However after they unhooked all the machines, that was it. My husband's day nurse Holly was very good about coming in. He rang for a nurse once when I was't there on that second day and after 30 minutes he rang again and a nurse came in and was really cranky with him. I had the same experience when I was there. I know the nurses are busy with new patients and other ones who are demanding, but they shouldn't completely ignore patients on that second day. Fortunately the PT and OT were able to help him when they came in. The food was decent for hospital food. I am sure patients are treated the same way in other hospitals, but that is no excuse.

If you have to be sick Doctor's Hospital is the best place to be. The private rooms are very comfortable and the nursing staff are fantastic.

Very disappointed. This was my fourth admission to this hospital since July 2018 relating to a staph infection that developed due to a knee replacement. This last visit, after a knee replacement, required two mid line pics, both of which bled. Discharged on a Thursday evening, after infusion, went home and pic line was bleeding down to my elbow. Required 2 visits to the Venice hospital including a weekend emergency room visit. Believe pic lines not installed properly and resulted in a peripheral line to do the infusion. Many thousand of dollars spent on what I feel was unnecessary visits to the hospital after discharge.
