If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I purchased my house in December but it was built last July. On our 30 day list, we included, among a lot of other problems that the soffit on the upstairs dormer was improperly installed and water was getting in the house. The area was repaired and the siding was replaced haphazardly so it looks wrinkled. Have requested several times for the house to be checked for mold in that area. I was told that would happen and it hasn't. In the master bathroom, when the linen closet shelves were installed, the main drain line from the upstairs bathroom was punctured in several places causing a leak in the master bedroom that leaked sewage and resulted in mold in the master bedroom, master bath and kitchen. Last week, while we were away, these repairs were supposed to occur, but when we returned home, they were just tearing out the kitchen drywall. The master bath and bedroom have walls, floor and carpet torn out-essentially unusable. My kitchen has drawers sitting on counters and the cabinets have been removed. My husband has a chronic cardiac respiratory problem and 2 of my grandchildren, ages 1 and 4 live with me. DR Horton has offered nothing in the way of restitution or compensation, not even a hotel room to stay in while they do the repairs. Shane, the DR Horton repair coordinator has been helpful, doing a lot of the work himself, but this house is a real POS. I've had door handles not function properly- one even flew across the room and almost hit my granddaughter in the face. There are cracks in the cement in the driveway and porch. Nailpops everywhere that were partially repaired and the list goes on. DON'T BUY A DR HORTON HOUSE. There's only so much lipstick you can put on a pig!
