I really love the staff. They are awesome.would recommend them.

I am so happy that I switched to Susquehanna and see the midwives during my first pregnancy. From the front desk staff, to the techs and the midwives, I've had great visits and actually enjoyed talking with all of them. I look forward to going & having them be a part of this wonderful experience. Front desk staff is especially nice and funny. Poor reviews of this place speak more of those patients than the staff.

Love your office. Dr. Bellantoni is my favorite doctor I've ever had.

Sarina Mossa

3 years I told Nell I was in pain and I thought it was my Mirena and she just kept telling me I was making it up. One day after I came in with horrible, unbearable pain she caused me to leave her office sobbing because she said I need to see a psychiatrist and yelled at me for shaving of any kind. Her exact words were “if you continue to shave then I refuse to treat you at all.” I demanded to see a new doctor I got Dr. Bellantoni and he fixed the issue in one month. I wasn’t making it up, my Mirena was causing the issues and it could have been fixed 3 years ago if Nell would have actually listen to what I was saying instead of blaming it all on me and pushing her own beliefs. Other than the one PA the staff is incredibly helpful. Susan who I always talked to on the phone is so nice and always goes out of her way to try to give the best help she can and Dr. Bellantoni takes the time to listen, looks into your history and comes up with real, effective long term solutions.

I WAS going to be a NEW patient on April 28,2015 HOWEVER; after finally finding the building (the sign was worn & address on the building was not very visible) I was greeted by a very rude receptionist (older woman w/a gray bob haircut) and told that I was LATE because I had NOT arrived 40min prior to my appointment because I was a new patient. I told her that I had been lost & my mother had called to make the office aware, her response was yes she called. (no excuse) I was then told that I would have to sit and wait to POSSIBLY be fit in. I told her that I lived in Cecil Co, my child was at a sitter & I needed a time frame. We get to you when we can fit you in. I was also told that when I made my appointment I was told to be 30 min early (I was NOT told) and that when I received my reminder appointment call I would have been told again HOWEVER I DID NOT receive a reminder call. I was instead given a web link to fill out my information which DID NOT WORK. I called in to tell them after trying 3 times I was unable to use the link provided for patient information. I was told not to worry I could fill it out when I arrived...NOTHING WAS SAID ABOUT ARRIVING EARLY at this time either. I was intending to be early out of common sense but after being lost I only arrive 5min before my appointment but I WAS LATE according to them. I decided to leave, as far as the doctors in this practice I could not tell you, I didn't make it past the HORRIBLE office personnel.

Love all the docs and midwives and nurse practitioners. I go there for gyn. And they also delivered my child in 2010. Thorough professional and caring. What else is there?

NATALIE LOYCO-THOMPSON

Dr. Gotzmann is absolutely amazing, she’s my gyn and my daughters as well. For many teens I know it can be scary or uncomfortable going to a gyn or talking to a gyn but she’s made it, to where my daughter loves coming there, asks questions and can just be “comfortable” . Dr. Gotzmann actually takes the time to explain anything my daughter asks her about even if it’s the smallest thing, she’s never made us feel rushed, she’s never once had my daughter feel like she had a dumb question. We love that she listens to us, she really genuinely cares and relates to the moms and teens that come there, at least that’s our experience we’ve had!! Thank you Dr. Gotzmann!!!

Desire misinformation about your pregnancy? Do you like rude, professionally immature midwives who recently were hired one to two weeks prior to your visit and cannot even properly pronounce medical terms and conditions? As an expecting mother/father, do you crave to be told that your next visit will be a genetic ultrasound where you'll learn the gender of your child, only to wait an entire month to find out the day of your appointment that was NOT happening but instead you get to ONLY hear the heart beat? If so, come on down to Susquehanna Obstetrics the techs, midwives & nurses showcase their lack of care, knowledge, and dedication to patient care. This place SUCKS! Beware. I had my first child here & went only because of the proximity to my home. From appearance, it looks like a brand new hospital, but that's just a facade. During my first birth, the midwives & doctors were EXTREMELY rude, esp. to my husband. It was like the nurses were man-haters not to mention the friendly yet doofy/inexperienced nurse who drop an entire container of morphine in our private room, & the morphine wasn't even for me but another patient...wrong room missy! While seeing the anesthesiologist, he inserted & removed that terrible needle 6 TIMES. Yes, you read right. He couldn't get it right. Even more, they failed to communicate w/me. I didn't even know I was giving birth! The bright lights cut on, doctors were running around the place, & I asked the nurse, "what's going on?" Not only that they didn't tell me I would need a vacuum to assist the birth, then as soon as I had the baby, they literally DROPPED my child in my weak hands as I had no strength & could barely see from all the pushing. I held my child for less than a minute & they took my child from me and into the ICU. I'm thinking something is horrendously wrong, on the verge of crying. NONE of the doctors told me what was going on, they just reacted like I was never there. They were completely rude to my husband & he didn't even get to cut the umbilical cord! I have great insurance so I thought I'd get treated a little better than this. 2nd pregnancy: My first prenatal visit, they gave me this big-eyed goofy nurse/midwife. This woman couldn't get her info straight. Example: I had a dating/viability scan that said I was 9 weeks, 6 days. Now, I literally came from that scan, walked less than 20 feet back into my room & this woman says, I'm only 8 weeks. Huh? I said, well your tech told me 9wks & 6 days & it was visible on the ultrasound pics provided. This woman said the tech told her 8 weeks so that's what she's going with. So she literally ignored what their accurate data/scan said. I knew she'd be a problem because she shook my hand like a dead fish. She was very young, nonchalant, & looked everywhere but at me. During my 1st pregnancy, nurses said NOT to eat peanuts as the child would suffer from allergies. This newbie, tells me to eat peanuts. What in satan is she talking about?! I can eat lunch meats & eat peanut butter, because it's safe? YEAH RIGHT! Her name is Kimberly R. She couldn't pronounce medical terms, asking me if I had diseases that don't even exist. Then lied to me & told me that I was tested for a drug test. Why? Do I look like I do drugs yet completely healthy? So either they gave me a drug test without my consent/knowledge or she got her info confused; I checked my records & a drug test was not listed. She told me that my next visit, I'd have a genetic ultrasound, etc. ...A month later, I'm all excited & Melanie F. a DIFFERENT midwive tells me NO to the genetic ultrasound & I'd need to go to another place just for that kind of scan. I even overheard her discussing my matters with a medical assistant in the hallway in a condescending tone. Poorly attempting to apologize, she blamed me for the confusion like I'm the one who's giving out information. Needless to say, today, I've already switched to another hospital.

I have been a patient here for 10 years and I am leaving the practice because of the office staff. I got caught up in traffic and was 13 minutes late. Although I was late and of course, I take responsibility for that, the girl at the counter was very rude and had such a negative tone that I will never return. She opened the window, I said my name and she replied, "You are 13 minutes late.I will have to check to see if you can be seen today." (My appt was with a nurse practitioner.) Meanwhile, there was one woman in the waiting room. Usually if you are a few minutes late, you may have to wait a while to be seen, which is understandable, but it is not a question of whether you will be seen. Also, the practice cancelled on me the day of my appt two times, stating the nurse had a personal emergency and was out. That's fine, I understand and rescheduled for 2 weeks later and the same thing happened again. Now a month later, I am looking for a new practice. Someone needs to teach the girls in the office how to communicate to the public. Others have written similar comments so it truly is an issue.

I called to make an appointment and the person who answered the phone said that the next appointment was till mid-may (I called on friday march 11) that is fine but she said that they didn't have the doctor's may schedule so I would have to call back next week sometime( she said she was hoping it would be ready weds but wasn"t sure). I have never heard of such a thing. I don't mind waiting for appointment but I shouldn't have 'to call back to make the appointment. No one offered to call me back or anything. It was very obvious that the person answering the phone didn't care whether I was help or not.

Gail Casazza

Wait not too long, Always easy to talk to. Love Dr. Gotzmann!

I have been a patient here for 4 years. I had my 3rd child with this practice and loved the midwives. I am sitting here now for an annual appointment. I showed up exactly 10 mins late for my appointment. I understand it’s my fault I was late but I have never been to a doctors that didn’t have a grace period for an appointment. They tell me I can wait and if they have time they will squeeze me in. I literally sat here for 17 mins before anyone came in for an appointment. I was literally the only one in the waiting room and they never came and got me. Now two women come in for appointments and they take them back right away. I can’t get over this. It’s like they are punishing me for being late. The girls at the front desk have no personality and have attitudes. I went to hand her a paper and she opened the glass didn’t make eye contact and was talking to someone else, just ripped it out of my hand. This place has really gone down hill since I started coming here.

Dr. Kathleen Gotzmann is a wonderful doctor, she takes the time to go over any and every concern you may have, a and make sure she explains thoroughly any new medications or test results or anything that you may have a concern about. She is a lovely woman and I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for an excellent GYN provider. Overall Susquehanna Ob/Gyn is a wonderful place, I’ve been going here for years and both physicians assistants I’ve seen have been great, I had an issue with a skin problem and Nel ( not sure her full name) was able to go over my questions with me and diagnosed me and finally saw a dermatologist to get help. This was after years of trying to get help through my primary. I highly recommend this office.

Horrible.

Heather Darchicourt

They are connected directly with upper Chesapeake (it’s making my first birth process a little easier). All of the midwives have been extremely pleasant so far. I have nothing bad to say.

Kenna Bug

Terrible staff of doctors. Terrible front desk workers as well. It's always extremely difficult to schedule an appointment. They consistently try to schedule you months out. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I can only presume that because I was young the doctors didnt take my concerns seriously. I was violently ill at the end of my pregnancy in the sense that my stomach was having too much pressure put on it and I suddenly dropped weight because I couldnt wat anything and the Dr, Dr bellatoni, his response was "well people get sick." Not to mention these are the doctors attached with the hospital that has the highest infant mortality rate in Maryland. You would think they would act within their ego since their actual practice is horrid. Unless you want to go to a place where you feel their main concern is their lunch hour and not your health, dont go to this office.

Jennifer King

Dr. Gotzman was wonderful! The office staff was friendly and efficient!

Audrey Rossi

The waiting time and procedure were very smooth. My only complaint is that I was not given an after care instruction and was not told that that spotting was possible after. I had to read it on the internet.

Tomasina Watters

Brittany Crabill

I keep trying to make an appointment but they keep sending me to voicemail which says to leave a message and they will call back. Well they never do call back. The midwives and nurses are pretty nice but the women at the front desk are rude.

Lashonda Popovich

Very long wait Mary is rude and shouldn't speak to patients and co-workers the way she does

Nicole Markland

I could not be happier with the Midwives along with all the ladies in the office and so far the one obgyn I had met. I had gotten two of my three sisters using them as well (the fourth sister lives to far away) They make me want to have babies over and over again.

I usually go to the Havre de Grace office and the staff there is fantastic. I saw the midwives through out my pregnancy, with my first child and had a great experience. I ended up needing a C-section which was done by Dr. Sommerville. He may not have the best bedside manner, and is slightly awkward to deal with but he did a fantastic job with my surgery. I am seeing the midwives again with my second pregnancy and should I end up with another C-section, I hope to have Dr. Sommerville perform my surgery again. Not the friendliest person to deal with but he is very good at what he does.

My daughter saw Dr. Sommerville following a miscarriage. He was rude, uncaring and totally unprofessional. Miscarriages are traumatic enough on the mother but dealing with someone as ignorant as this "doctor" should not be tolerated.

Horrible. Place is too booked of you try to reschedule your appointment they wont let you they make you cancel and wait for a call back whenever they have an opening. For a pregnant individual thats unacceptable. And receptionist was very rude.

Do not use or go to this practice and I am not saying this to destroy anyone reputation . I really do not want anyone to be hurt like me . First they let me take a birth control pill for a year with high blood pressure without monitoring me bc it came through mail order and again no monitoring from them whatsoever . I , the one initially went there bc I know it's wrong to take birth control pill with high blood pressure. They never remind me of annual appointments whatsoever. Talked to nurse practitioner There for my options for birth control. She suggested another birth control pill that wouldn't work with anyone Life style , vasectomy for my spouse or iud . I chose iud (Paraguard) in less than one week I felt severe panic attacks although I admit it's non hormonal . I had to go to my family doctor bc I would feel like my heart is gonna stop from panic attacks . that's what my body personally experienced from the paraguard . I went to get the iud removed in less than two weeks . Another Nurse practitioner couldn't find it , I did an ultra sound , they couldn't find it in my utures . Finally I decided to go to a different practice I had doubts at this point . They have been not monitoring me and now can't find an iud been installed two weeks ago . My new doctor had me do x Ray . They found my iud in my abdomen. I didn't even have any inter course with my husband all this time as he was traveling outside the county for a whole month , of course I am lucky . I had to go to have a surgery done to remove my iud . Please avoid them if you can and definitely avoid any iud hormonal or non hormonal . And this is not the first mistakes they did with me . Couple others .

The worst appointment I have ever had at any doctor's office! I was told by Nell that even though I had a hysterectomy several years ago that I was not in menopause and that the hrt I was on should be replaced with birth control pills without asking any questions or looking at my records and previous blood work which besides having a hysterectomy would confirm I was in menopause. I came to this practice only because I recently moved and didn't want to drive the hour and a half to see my board certified Gyn that I have seen for twenty years. She never asked me any questions about why I was in or about my history. Apparently, she is a psychic and knows it all. I will never go back and highly recommend that no one ever go here! This review would have zero stars if that was an option. Unbelievably awful!!

Dr. Barakat is awesome. I had (have) full confidence in her and my experience has been wonderful. She is a caring and kind doctor and gave me honest dialogue about my health, procedure and Follow-Up. I definitely recommend her. Her staff was caring and professional as well.

I was so excited to use this practice-unforunately the doctors there are absolutely incompetent, especially Dr. Gotzmann, who has zero bedside manner and scheduled me for a procedure that I should not have been scheduled for.

I usually see Dr. Gotzman at Uppercheaspeak location. I was only able to get an appointment with Dr. Gotzman at the Havre De Grace location and was very pleased. The staff was very helpful and nice. Parking was wonderful. I would book my appointment again at the Havre De Grace location and I live in bel Air.

I’ve been Dr Gotzmann’s patient since she arrived at Susquehanna OB/GYN. Finest MD I’ve ever had in my life, no matter what specialty.

This place is horrid, don't even waste your time here. The staff is rude and they keep you waiting forever. If you call you don't even talk to a real person, they have to call you back. WHICH THEY NEVER DO

Rachel W

Had the most horrible experience of my life at this office!!!! It gives me ptsd and horrible anxiety just to talk with other doctors about the horrific procedure they did in the office with me. I wasn’t told exactly what would happen what I would go through or anything wasn’t told to take any pain meds before just for precaution, it was just done with no explanation as to what was exactly going to happen. And the dumb lady doing it decided to try talk therapy with me while doing the procedure, that’s the LAST thing I want to do is talk about skiing!!! While I’m in pain and crying, she had absolutely no heart at all. Got my personal health files to take to another doctor office and was told I had to wait five minutes in which I did so and watched rude the lady at the desk close the window to tell the other lady next to her exactly how much it was going to cost for me to have my file, I can read lips! I went up to pay and they honestly thought I wouldn’t want to pay for my file.....like I would want to stay and be disrespected and felt like I didn’t matter, needless to say over half the stuff in my file isn’t true! I wouldn’t recommend anyone to these people seems they are only in it for the money and don’t care about the patients.

Awful! I went for a gyn checkup once and the midwife I saw had the personality of sandpaper. Nurse told me I wouldn’t need a screening test. Midwife came in and told me opposite. Midwife checked my blood pressure twice which I had already explained goes up when I go to the doctor and was only border line high. She then spent 10 minutes explaining the affects of high blood pressure to me like I was a 5 year old. I won’t be back. I would never have used this practice when I was pregnant. I can only imagine how awful they would have been. Don’t waste your time!!

This place is so unprofessional just because my daughter is 15 and pregnant doesn't mean they have to treat her like a disease. Show up 15 minutes before my 1:15 appt with her uts now 2 after I told them I had to be at work at 130. Why on earth would they schedule patients with a dr or midwife that is on call that makes absolutely NO SENSE AT ALL. Since the day I started bringing my daughter to this office they have treated her like she is a disease and I will be contacting the Md doctors board on these people so they can lose their license

Michele Coale

Dr. Gotzman is always professional and makes you feel at ease with any questions you may have.

It is clear the staff has no respect for their patients. I absolutely recommend going somewhere else. I was five minutes to my first appointment, because I had trouble finding the office; there are no signs for the building and the front entrance faces a parking garage that you enter from the opposite side; so being my first time it took me about 15 minutes of walking the premise and asking for directions to find a staircase hidden behind the emergency entrance that leads to this particular building.Of course, knowing that it can be difficult to find a place on your first visit, I had allotted myself what I thought was plenty of time should I have trouble finding the office. When I arrived the person at the front desk didn't acknowledge me until the phone rang, after getting off the phone she said she would have to check with the care provider, Dr. Barakat, to see if she would still see me because I was (now 9 minutes) late. She then told me that the Dr. had refused because I was late and that I was actually 25 minutes late because they like patients to show up 15 minutes early to the appointment - something that was never mentioned when booking or later confirming the appointment. I respect appointment times, but also propose that such draconian policies have little place in patient care. Patients take time out of work, rearrange plans, trips, schedules, and alternate treatment to make these appointments. To refuse service because they are a few minutes late is harsh, unreasonable and disrespectful.

I've been using Susquehanna for 21 years.. they delivered my son. However, the last few times they have made me feel like a horrible woman. They have treated me so poorly and unsupportive that I am looking for a new gyn. It's really sad that they make women feel bad because an option that fits so many doesn't fit all. Please listen to your patients without alienating them!

Bridget Diehl

Dr Gotzman was absolutely wonderful!!! She delivered all three of my children! She’s kind, professional, intelligent, trustworthy and confident! I fully trust her and the entire practice at Susquehanna Ob/gyn. It is by far the best prenatal care in Harford County!

Jennifer McGettigan

I recently had a lot of issues after losing a baby and she made me feel very relaxed. I left the appointment with all my questions answered and a game plan for the future. It’s hard to find a doctor that listens to your concerns and really hears you.

Pregnant with my first child and so unhappy with this office that they make me contemplate delivering at home so I can avoid ever having to go into their office and deal with any of the "doctors" that actually work there. I am now 34 weeks along and from the very first visit they make you feel like you are wasting their time and can never give you any answers to your questions. My first visit with Sommerville, I mentioned I was having pretty constant migraines. His response was that, he didn't know what to tell me and referred me to see a neurologist. Later on, after my glucose test, I saw Sommerville again and asked about my results of that test. He said that there are so many different standards to that test so he couldn't give me a direct answer of where my results were. The only appointment I had scheduled with Barakat, she cancelled because I was 6 minutes late due to getting very sick as I was trying to drive myself there. Very heartless and uncaring office, at least when it comes to the "doctors". Maybe the midwives are a better choice, or finding another office all together. The only reason I even give this office two stars, is because they are conveniently very close to my home.

Angie Carlotta

This place is horrible!! Dr Sommerville is rude, unprofessional. Deserve zero stars!!!

Dr.Gotzmann is the Most Caring Doctor, I Love Her, She listens and Absolutely Cares about you,I Praise God, She is My Doctor

I love this place. I have delivered both my sons there. And I'm about to deliver my third son very soon. With my first pregnancy I was seeing a different doctor in the beginning had a very bad experience with him. I had to be rushed to the er when I was taken to labor and delivery I told the nurse I didn't want to see my doctor no more and I wanted to see the doctor on call. Dr.Bellatony come in my room he was so great. Great bedside manners and made me feel like he really cared about my issues. So I switched to there practice and started seeing my mid wives when I was 28 weeks. I will never go to other obgyn again. 5 years of being seen by them and never had a bad experience at all. The mid wives Lori is one of the best around.
