I went to Dr. Sciara with big hope to cure my mild acne. She prescribed me antibiotics, Retin A and other topical treatments. My skin reacted very badly I was breaking out like never before! My skin turned into nightmare! It was peeling and zits were all over my face. Dr. Christine insured me that it's normal and in 3 months I will have perfect skin. She was charging me every month 150$ for chemical peel, which I can do on my own for 5$ with esthetician license. After 3 months of suffering from my terrible acne and post acne scars she prescribed me another antibiotic, which also didn't help me. When I went to trip to Ukraine I called esthetician who suggested me to visit Gastroenterologist and Gynecologist and get tested on parasites, hormonal disbalanse etc. I found out that my issue was intestine related, I went through therapy and in 1 month I have great skin. Why Christina Sciara didn't refer me to any doctor, when she saw no results? Why this person has rights to harm my health with antibiotics, which I used for 4 months without knowing real cause of my acne? Why she didn't change treatment when saw that I break out even more? Ukrainian esthetician knows more about skin than Christine Sciara, and Christina is U Penn graduate. When I asked for Christina Sciara on a phone, she refused talking to me and send her nurse dealing with angry customer. She refused to refund my money back. I'm extremely upset I wasted 4 months of my life on dealing with dermatologist , who doesn't know how to cure acne. I highly recommend stay away from her practice. She doesn't take insurances ( only cash), she doesn't want to respond to customer, she doesn't treat disease, but make it worse. All she said , that everybody's skin is different and reacts differently, it takes time. In my case, with stomach and digesting issues I'd never see a cure from antibiotics, but waste more money and time on this unprofessional doctor. In my opinion she just doesn't care about her patients and their health.
