Let's not fall for these "perfect" reviews. Each times someone posts a bad review, they will post a good one. I've seen it first hand. The staff has no compassion, long waits, incompetent employees. They only care about the money, and get ready for bills you never saw coming. BEWARE!

I am a new patient here and when I arrived I couldn’t believe how fast I was taken back. All the girls that work there were extremely nice. When the doctor came in I immediately felt comfortable even though i was extremely nervous/uncomfortable as i had a swollen face. I could tell he was genuinely worried about my issue which winded up being an infection. He assured me that he is going to make sure I will be taken care of. My prescriptions were called in right away so i was able to start them as soon as possible. I couldn’t be more thankful of everything they did for me. I will be returning for future appointments!!

I've been a patient of Dr. Hess for a few years and he is excellent. I have had 2 pre-cancerous mole removal surgeries that were a bit of scare initially. Dr. Hess was very comforting and the surgery was painless. The scars healed so well too; they are now very thin and insignificant (especially compared to the deep and thick scars my sisters have from similar mole removal surgeries by other dermatologists in the tri-state area). Reception is always kind and helpful, and they are very quick to get back to me with biopsy results. They also have some early hours which is helpful if you work a 9-5. I strongly recommend this doctor.

Horrible Customer Service Went for an initial appointment and was made to wait without any notice. Waited for 40 minutes in waiting room and another 10 minutes in a room before I decided to ask for my copay back and leave. Receptionist asked if I wanted to reschedule for a time when I didn't have to wait. I specifically asked how long the wait was when I checked in and was told that there wasn't one. People who had appointments scheduled after mine were taken before me. I only went here because they only had a week wait compared to the 6 month wait at other dermatologist. Now I see why. Everyone was so nonchalant like they were doing me a favor. Don't waste your time here. They seemed less than happy to assist me, but then again i was the only minority there and I felt like it. Almost positive they paid for all these "positive" reviews.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Hess for over 5 years for skin cancer body checks, as well as other skin rash issues. He has been diligent in finding and removing pre-skin-cancerous lesions, and treating any other skin issues. We have complete confidence in his and his staff’s medical expertise. Once, a week before leaving for vacation, my husband broke out in a rash that didn’t respond to any home treatment. When I called the office to explain the problem and our tight time-line, we were given an immediate appointment, and seen by the P.A. She was able to identify the likely problem, and prescribed a skin cream that solved the issue within the expected time. Another time, while on vacation, my husband had forgotten his psoriasis medication. We called the office and an Rx was immediately made available at our vacation spot. Having said all of this, our only complaint is the wait-time in the reception area at appointments. Although we always schedule morning appointments, we have waited long after our scheduled appointment time before being called back to the examination room. The last time the wait was almost 40 minutes. Once in the exam room, however, we are seem almost immediately. I can understand somewhat the reason for this, as Dr. Hess really never knows what his examinations will reveal, nor how much time it may take for the treatment. We have never been asked to make another appointment to receive whatever treatment we needed. That is definitely a plus. So, we will continue to see Dr. Hess, and try to be more patient with any wait-time, since we know we will be given the appropriate and necessary attention once in the exam room. We would recommend Dr. Hess and Center City Dermatology without reservation.

I have been a patient here for about the last 2 years and I never had a problem until my last 6 month check up. I was seen very quickly but I went in with questions about new products to try and got no help. I do not feel like my concerns were met. Also when I asked to speak with someone about facial moisturizer the doctor I saw was no help and the woman who could help me was busy with someone else so I could go look at samples and pick for myself. If I knew what was a good product to use I wouldn't be at the Dermatologist. I do not think I will be returning to this office.

I had the most phenomenal experience at Center City Dermatology after a HORRIBLE experience elsewhere years ago! A couple years ago, I opted in to have my lips filled and the experience was truly traumatic. I was incredibly uncomfortable and in so much pain, I legitimately almost passed out. Years later, and after meeting Samantha Colosi Jamerson, PA-C, I decided to give lip filler another try and I am so glad I did! The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind as soon as I walked in at 7:44am! The staff even spoke so highly of Samantha and went out of their way to make me comfortable even before the procedure. As soon as I saw Sam, she put me at ease, asking what kind of music I wanted to listen to and asking me to lay back, providing me with pillows to ensure my comfort. The experience itself was second to none, but so is Samantha’s work ethic. She’s a true perfectionist, but she works smoothly and efficiently and is encouraging and supportive throughout. She even sent me home with an ice pack and some necessary meds to reduce swelling (that stuff works wonders! It’s the next day and I have 0 bruising and barely any swelling!). Sam makes sure you follow up with her, too, as she wants pictures so she can see how everything is healing! Who does that?! At the end of the appointment, I met Dr. Hess and he was just as kind and complementary as Samantha! Thank you CCD for an incredible experience and thank you Samantha for your warmth, kindness and dedication to what you do! I cannot wait to come back for more cosmetic procedures! Next up: laugh lines!!! Thank you again!!!

Such a lovely experience! They clearly have a large client list and are very busy but everyone there is very personable and treats you like a No.1 priority. I've had poor experiences with dermatologists who will just prescribe you a topical cream and move on to the next patient. Here I felt heard and we built a prescription around my needs

I love Dr. Samantha and the team at CCD, but I really need to gush about the aesthetician Chelsea! She is so attentive and professional (not to mention talented), and takes her time with every visit to make me feel like she's truly invested in *me* as a patient, and not just my acne. Chelsea has done so much for my skin and my confidence, and while there's no instant magical fix for acne/scarring, the difference she's made in 9 months makes me think she might be some kind of better skin fairy... ! SO grateful to have found her and this practice, I would recommend them to anyone.

I was told to wait on hold "for a sec." a few minutes later I hung up and called back to ask if they are busy and could talk to me another time- the lady on the other end said they were busy, not really apologetic, and asked me to hold again- I told her I need to hang up and that they are losing my business.

Uncanny that I just had the exact same experience as J Wexler - waited on hold and was disconnected. Called back and was immediately asked to hold - I said I was disconnected and receptionist was more apologetic - but made excuses when I asked when was a better time to call. They need another receptionist if they want to keep getting new clients.

Terrible staff unprofessional and rude l was told prior to my appointment that they accept my Insurance and when l got there they told me they didn't accept my Insurance after l drove 60 miles from where l live and l couldn't get a straight answer. I asked who the person was that took my information and they would not tell me . when l called l specificly ask her to double check my Insurance she said o yes we do accept your insurance and gave me the appointment. Not to mention it cost me gas tolls parking and time. And a very unclean waiting area.

I’ve suffered from psoriasis for the better part of the last 10 years , and can never seem to find relief, in spite of many steroid, non steroid creams, and home remedies. Admittedly I was skeptical going into the office visit, but I kept an open mind. I was welcomingly greeted by the receptionist, and had less than a five minute wait time. I came prepared with paperwork and medical records previously faxed prior to the appointment so this expedited the process. Dr Hess was confident in his ability to treat my condition, explained why previous medications failed me, and made recommendations. I’m cautiously optimistic that he can help get this condition under control for me. A very pleasant and professional office experience.

Dr. Hess's office is amazing! I came in with severe eczema that was making me miserable. I have tried every topical over the counter and prescribed, and I've been to multiple dermatologists. Not one has listened to me quite like Dr. Hess did. He understood all of my concerns and treated me the way he would treat a member of his family. Instead of prescribing a numerous amount of topicals that probably would not have worked, he tried something different. My eczema was so widespread and so severe that I couldn't even sleep most nights due to the itching, so he told me about an injection called Dupixent. After my first injection, the itching decreased dramatically and most of the rash was gone. I am now on my 6th injection and my skin has NEVER looked so clear, thanks to Dr. Hess and Dupixent!

Very professional office. Good reviews are not always written, so I'm sharing my experience. I was seen for acne fairly quickly and immediately saw results with the regimen I was given. Not many places take the time to go through a skin care regimen that is suitable for your skin in particular, however Center City Dermatology has done just that. My skin has improved so much and I cannot thank Dr. Hess, Samantha and Chelsea enough for helping me with my biggest insecurity and helping clear my skin. Dr. Hess is a fine doctor but had the worst experience recently as far as the staff is concerned along with previous rude encounters over phone calls. Arrived at the clinic well before my appointment time. Waited patiently for more than over an hour and half, saw at least 6 people being attended before me who came much later. The receptionist kept saying they will take me to the back next but didn't do anything. As a working professional with time being of essence i found this experience as the last straw to make the decision to change my dermatologist.

I’ve seen a few cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists and my experience here tops them all. A lot of offices don’t even accept self pay patients, such as myself, but this office goes above and beyond to work with me. Samantha is so personable, she never makes me feel rushed, she listens to all of my concerns and promptly addresses them. I used to have eczema all over my body and acne so bad on my face it hurt to smile. I used to cake on make up. Now the only time I bother to put make up on is if I’m going out. My first time coming into this office I felt so ashamed and didn’t even want people to look me in the face and I can honestly say that Samantha always made me feel so comfortable and her help has had such a positive influence on my life.

Chelsea is the most amazing esthetician in the Philly and tristate area. She is so professional and has an abundance of knowledge of all cosmetic procedures. She knows exactly how to treat all types of skin and understands seasonal changes. I felt very comfortable after my first consultation when she gave me multiple options for my type of skin (sun damage and dryness) and did not push me into purchasing anything. I fully trusted her once I had my second appointment that included the Excel V laser treatment a month later. I have never received a laser treatment prior to this appointment so I was extremely nervous. I don’t have a high pain tolerance so I was expecting the worst. To my surprise, the treatment did not hurt at all and felt like a tiny rubber band tapping my face just like Chelsea explained to me. I actually saw results pretty quickly and my mother even commented telling me my many brown spots had vanished. I am overjoyed with the results and will definitely be going back to Chelsea for any other procedure I may need/ want.

This place will BLEED YOU DRY!!! I have been going to Center City Dermatology for over year. I always dealt with Samantha for all my skin checks. Each time I went there, something had to be biopsied that ultimately resulted in surgery. Looking back, I should have gotten a second opinion from a different dermatologist. They knew I didn't go through my insurance so they told me each time that it would be a separate charge for the biopsy and surgery. I was okay with that because I knew up front that those services would be extra. Cut to my follow up appointment a couple weeks ago. I was curious about the little rash on the back on my leg. I wasn't concerned about it as I figured it was just eczema and would go away with some ointment. I asked Samantha to take a look at it during my 6 month skin check. She looked and said "we can test it" and just make sure it's eczema so you know what it is. I agreed since there was no mention of a lab or any additional costs involved. She directed me to get an antibiotic and some ointment. She brought up the fact that I'm self pay (meaning, I don't use insurance and pay for everything out of my own pocket-something she's always been aware of). I asked her how much was each and told her I could only afford one. I'm on a strict budget and they know my situation. A couple weeks later, I get a bill for $82 from LapCorp. I was not pleased as I was not informed they were sending anything off to a separate lab nor was I told there would be an additional charge. I paid it begrudgingly and tried to forget about it. A few days later I get yet ANOTHER bill from Labcorp for $482!! I was furious. I literally got sick to my stomach and had to cancel all plans for my weekend because I was so upset. Now, why would Samantha bring up the fact that she knows I'm self-pay so she was trying to find the cheapest antibiotic for me and when I tell her I can't afford a whopping $50 for the pills and ointment she doesn't tell me they'll be a bill for half a grand coming?????? I called Center City Dermatology first thing on Monday morning (today) and told them they never informed me of any additional charges nor that they were going to send anything off to a lab. They said they normally test in office but they sent mine out of a lab. Oh, great! Thanks for letting me know! They were so flippant about it and told me I would have to call Labcorp to set up payment arrangements or negotiate the bill down since it's coming out of my pocket! I was shaking and so upset. So you're going to bring up the fact that you know I'm self pay when addressing a $20 ointment fee but fail to mention I'll be getting a $640 lab bill? Are you kidding me???? Of course, Samantha never called me back. Who cares right? After all, I'm the one left to deal with this so it doesn't go on my credit. I should sue them for having the temerity to hit a self-pay patient with a bill over half a grand without their knowledge. I'm still contemplating my recourse. I will NEVER go here again! I suggest to anyone contemplating going here, ensure you ask questions about everything. Even if they already know your situation! They don't care about your financial situation at all. They just want to make as much money as they can off you. Shame on you!!!!

This is honestly the best experience I have ever had at a doctors office. Samantha is so genuine and so kind. She easily and thoughtfully diagnosed something that has been bothering me for years. I have other chronic heath concerns and when you are so sick for so long it really chips away at your self esteem. I’m so happy to have met Samantha, got a diagnosis, and will soon have relief from some of my health issues and will really make my overall quality of life so much better. Usually, reviews are only written when something sub pair takes place, and I wanted to write a glowing review on my experience with Center City Dermatology as great reviews need to be heard just as much as the bad ones. Over my lifetime, I have definitely seen my fair share of dermatologists, and many of them have left my skin very unsatisfied. Growing up, I was always in the sun and never wore sunscreen. Obviously, I now know the side effects of this and needed to start taking care of my skin. Not only having sun damage, but I developed psoriasis, which brought on stress and leaving my skin, not in the best shape. And let’s not forget about the day-to-day aging process. Wrinkles are starting! Anyways, I met with dermatologist after dermatologist and wasn’t seeing any significant results. It wasn’t until I found Center City Dermatology that all of that changed. Dr. Stephen Hess, Samantha Colosi, Chelsea Dipilla and their entire staff are exceedingly knowledgeable, personable and genuinely care about you and your results. When I first meet with the group a few years back, I met with each of them to discuss my skin and what I was looking/wanting to achieve. They went into great detail of different paths I could take – the benefits, potential side effects, cost, and length of time. Some worked, and others didn’t work as well. What I liked most about my experience is they would meet with me to review next steps (as we all should know something that works for me, may not work for you). I also LOVED the fact that they stay current with trends and new medicine in the industry. And when new medicine/products/treatment options were available that they thought might work well for me, they informed me and met with me to review in more detail. They are always evolving their practice to make sure they have the best in class products/treatment! Since I have found Center City Dermatology, not only is my skin healthier but also they are the FIRST ones to really tackle my psoriasis. My skin has never looked so beautiful! My under eyes have decreased in darkness, my wrinkles have diminished, my psoriasis is manageable, and I have an overall glow to my skin. HAPPY DANCE! They are always going above and beyond for their clients. From when I first walk in and greeted by their staff, to when I’m brought back and greeted warmly when they walk into my room. Everyone is extraordinary. I love how Samantha reminds me to make sure I am lathering with sunscreen. And how she does a quick check of a few of my freckles whenever I am in the office to make sure nothing bad is going on. And she is always making sure I am satisfied with my results from her. Chelsea is great about informing me of new ways to improve my skin and take it to the next level. Even if I am not seeing Dr. Hess at every appointment, when he is in the office, he stops in to say hello. I cannot get over how great they are. I am ecstatic about my results and the new knowledge I have regarding how to keep my skin healthy. When I am near their office, I catch myself just going into the office to say hello and to see their smiling faces. Both Dr. Hess and Ms. Colosi are wonderful. I recently went to see Ms. Colosi, the PA and she listened to all of my concerns and then proposed a plan that worked with my budget and time. As a grad student I am very busy and she was more than willing to work with my schedule. I've been going to Dr Hess for years for my full body skin checks. He's found multiple spots that needed to be removed and i've never been more thankful. Not only is he a great doctor but he's an awesome skin surgeon as well. Each of the spots he removed healed so well!! Ive had trouble in the past with other dermatology offices and the scars they left but I've never had any problems with him! I highly recommend Dr. Hess to anyone who needs a dermatologist.
