I have been a patient of Dr. Cooksey since 1996. He has always taken excellent care of me, seeing me through a C-section and several surgeries for ovarian issues. I have always found him and his entire staff to be pleasant, efficient, and excellent at what they do.

I specifically asked questions prior to my appointment. When I arrived and they took my money I was then advised that they do not do what I requested prior to my appointment. However they still took my money. The office staff looks lost and the doctor looks unprofessional. Waste of my time.

Dr. Cooksey... There's so much information but I want to keep this brief. Dr. Cooksey has recommended the wrong tests for the disease process. (numerous ultrasounds for endometriosis) Has performed the wrong surgery. (D&C for endometriosis. He refused to perform the laparoscopy and later revealed he's perforated someone's bowel performing a routine surgery for the disease.) Has prescribed the wrong medication. (Antibiotic for thick lining r/t endometriosis. Lupron therapy to suppress hormones. A quick look at my chart would show him that lupron is contraindicated in a cardiac issue I have...**) Has performed unnecessary pelvic exams and claimed "I won't get paid by the insurance company if I don't perform this exam" Which caused intense pain due to, you guessed it, endometriosis. Contacted my insurance company and as suspected, he gets paid either way, but he gets paid MORE if he performs a pelvic exam. Let that sink in. He is lining his pockets with no regard to the pain he's causing patients. All those pelvic exams and you'd think he'd know that my uterus and bladder were stuck to my colon which was stuck to my abdominal wall, but I digress. ** This is important. Advocate for yourself, ladies. If you make the mistake of going to this man, you better know your way around your body, because he could have caused me to go into VFIB. It will make him angry, he will yell at you , and he will kick you out of the practice like he did me, but hey, you'll survive to tell the tale. If you suspect you have endometriosis, don't go to this guy. Research specialists and go to the one that sounds most promising.
