This is the saddest review I have ever had to write. I was diagnosed with cancer last year and this was my second opinion location. I love my oncologist here. She is truly amazing. But it all stops there. UCHealth is too big and they will not give any billing information up front that is accurate. With my very decent health insurance I did 12 radiation treatments and I was billed a facility charge of $100 for each one in addition to the radiation costs. Even my insurance company told me they thought that was terrible but they could not do anything about it. UCHealth had told me I would owe nothing, that my insurance would take care of the bill. Instead they refused to discount any of the bill and instead allowed me to make payments. I have been trying to pay as much off as I could and today received another bill for my Petscan from last December. I am supposed to be responsible for $150 of that and they billed me over $509 for this. Also I have not received a bill for March for my Cat Scan so I can't imagine that bill. Sadly today I cancelled my doctors appointment for next month as I cannot afford treatment. The stress from these bills is really taking a toll on my health and they get to charge any amount and you have no idea how much. I was a patient at another cancer treatment center prior to this treatment and they billed me what my insurance told me the costs would be. I am very upset to give up a doctor I love and trust because of their greedy billing. Interesting they told me I needed to see a counselor and I tried to connect with him many times and he never returned my calls. I was worried what that charge would be but even my mental health issues got lost in a system that is way too big. I notice UCHealth will sometimes respond to reviews on here, but strangely not when it concerns billing. Cancer is only for the wealthy at UCHeath. UPDATE: Here is the stock reply I received from UCHealth after I contacted them as they asked me to: Good morning Amy, Thank you for taking the time to provide additional feedback regarding your review. I will pass this along to our patient experience team to help improve and clarify billing related issues. We pride ourselves in maintaining the highest quality standards as well as billing transparency for all patients. I’m sorry this has been an upsetting situation and we take your feedback and will work towards improving. Thank you. Sincerely, Sarah B.

Top doctors here! I've received amazing care at this facility.

They know they are "the best game in town" and they will hold that over your head as they charge you for everything under the sun and refuse to listen to you as a patient and as someone who has lived with their chronic illness for over 30 years. I had the worst inpatient experience of my life here, and there are still things documented in my chart that are actual lies, and things I never said even though I have asked for support and to have it removed, my PCP told me to "talk to a patient representative. My hospital stay was longer than it needed to be because the medial students refused to try things in an attempt to prove me wrong. As soon as the attending was off call, any plans that were made were completely disregarded. Nurses made snarky comments, and I was not even asked if I wanted to bathe in over four days. It is terrifying to me that this is where individuals with complex needs are directed as it is the opposite of patient centered. As long as you have insurance you'll get in the door, but don't expect to be respected or listened to. This hospital makes me regret even moving to Colorado.

Can't get any accountability out of this place. My pcp puts in the referral and UCH cancels it, what's the point of having specialties if the people working in them are not accountable and you gave to try multiple times to get in to see them? I actually have insurance, good insurance too yet it's impossible to get in to see specialist. The place is totally understaffed, dangerously understaffed. Do people really think this place is the best hospital in the state?

Matthew Shelton

I got great treatment without being insured. The nurses were patient with me and the doctors really helped me get set up with the financial planning center which I will go to tomorrow morning they are going to help me fill out paperwork for Medicaid that will not be returned to me with old records from w2s I submitted. Anyways long story short I didn't think I would be treated as long as I did. They did not rush me out of the door and I was welcome to stay an additional night. I chose to schedule an appointment to come back so my credit is not ruined another seven years . This hospital shows compassion and mercy to those who are without control over their health. I came in 72 hours ago in DKA and left with a practical plan for diabetic management. I could not expect more for less bill, ever. This state is amazing never have I ever thought I could be treated fairly and not have money for a bill on top of that helping me secure Medicaid so I'm not in future debt for what I surely owe. A1 sauce it's that important. I would come here to die after a bison meatloaf this whole place is about performing their functions and I was not denied one single thing I asked for, from ice chips, all the way to exit that way sir I was given help in recovery and help getting financial assistance.

If you have serious medical issues, this is the hospital you want to go to. They are a teaching hospital and their interns/fellows learn from tenured doctors. The collaboration between doctors is excellent and they help each other come up with the best possible solution for your situation. I am included in the conversation as a caregiver and not talked down to... I like that because those of us who are with someone terminally or chronically ill know what's going on, on a day-to-day basis and our opinion/input matters.

Saying words like i think you have or best guess is your have is how the doctors talk to you in the er they don't help with pain management or health problems

Never Never in my life have I’ve seen such bad service..care.. and no respect from nurses, doctors, assistance staff I would not recommend new moms to be, already mommies to have their babies at this hospital I’m going to make this short because I have too many things that where done with this whole experience, my daughter new mom arrived after 11pm Already called an hour an half early letting them know she’s 5mins apart and mucus plug broke from time arrived she wasn’t given compassion, respect of nurses and some doctors with what she asked for, staff rolling their eyes to her and parents, when needed to be already in delivery room nurses where still sitting around instead of getting a room ready, it sadness me as I’m watching getting put in a back room no one bothered to check in we had to look for staff, doctors or nurses didn’t communicate saying we have an emergency please take over in this room my daughter was not given correct care for her visit and only time she got service she was sopost get,, was the staff between 8am - 11am And still through her whole visit us always questioning where’s the nurse, why didn’t doctor check her cervix, why is there too many different people coming in asking the same questions a million times -should of been on her information . If anything will never never step in this hospital again I don’t appreciate the lack of what should of been my daughter’s 1st great experience. No where staff has the right to be disrespectful like a high school kids.

I went for a routine CT and MRI. The only appointment they had was at 8:40 pm... I received a call informing me my second scan was pushed to 9:45 pm. After waiting over twenty minutes once I arrived at my second scan, I had to find someone. This person informed me my scan wasn't until 10:15. In an hour they pushed back my appointment time twice. I'm incredibly tired and would not recommend this place for a scan unless you'd like to be here until midnight due to their terrible appointment times and constant need to push patients appointments back. Two thumbs down .

UCHealth is a disaster. Although quick to prescribe, and not always necessary, their pain management is a disaster. Bureaucracy is the name of the story - it is truly a taste of socialized medicine. In addition, their billing and account management is the most inefficient thing I have encountered. Be warned, each time you go to a doctor an account number is generated. And, if you go to a doctor that is part of the UC Health system, despite the fact that you are seeing them at a strip center clinic, you will be charged a fee as though you have gone to the hospital. It is the most opaque and costly experience I have had. To have my first ever wart removed? Almost $500 and it's still there. Avoid.

Emma Dwyer

They don’t have enough charging places where I can charge my electronics!!! They want you to be an hour early but not to get mad when your appointment was at 9:30 but you did t get called till 1:30 it’s ridiculous my phone died and I’m mad because no charging places were close so I waited 3 hours

Jess Wood

The staff is actually great. However, the location, traffic, and parking is the most horrendous thing I've ever seen. It makes me cringe to even think about how difficult it is to maneuver through there. Hopefully they are finding ways to help the situation.

Tiffany Heroff

The entire staff was amazing. Everyone was professional and so kind. As we we were getting ready to leave we got a flat tire. Multiple staff members came to help us. They found a tire pump helped with the car jack, and spent a significant amount of time helping us going way above their job description. Thank you for being so understanding and kind.

I went to an ophthalmologist under their system, and the service was fine. However, their billing system is horrendous. A month after going in I received a $4,000 bill, and that’s after my insurance. This was completely unexpected. They never told me it would cost that much, and when I went in to ask why my bill was so high, they said they have no idea how much procedures would cost. After further discussion, they told me they could give patients estimates of how much it would cost, but they choose not to. This is a terrifying healthcare scam. If I do not pay $4,000 in a month, they said they will send collection agencies. Do not see any doctors under the UC Health system.

My experience with your institution was, to say the very least, incredibly disappointing. I was on vacation traveling from Green Bay WI on a trip out west. After a night of not being able to sleep because of rapidly worsening shortness of breath, I had to wake my husband at 5:30 am and insisted he drive me the 133 miles from Sterling, CO to Denver. Upon arrival I was pursed-lipped breathing and could not speak a complete sentence. I attempted to explain to Dr. Jay the onset of my symptoms over the past two dats(severe sore throat, global headache, muscle aches, nasal drainage of a box of Puffs in a matter of hours); and that I was coughing up copious amounts of mucous, and made the apparent mistake of suggesting it might be influenza or viral in nature. It was decided that it was “asthma”, and I did receive stacked duodenum treatments which simmered things down. (Regardless of do, I did get the supportive care I needed. I never saw Dr. Jay again, who said he would return to review things. The resident working with him offered me the option of your 23 hour Observation Unit, and I was made to feel that I had no business being there. Top on the list was having a male “x-ray tech” loudly barge in my room at 2am, make me sit up-and then proceed to tell me he was going to take another patient’s x-ray and then come back . . . Which he never did. The pm RN acted like I’d was a bother when I asked for a PRN breathing treatment-never bothered to follow up after the treatment-I turned off the O2 myself. On several occasions I took my O2 and Sat probe off to clean up my meal tray, to go to the bathroom, and with the activity on room air, I desaturated to 81-84%, I mentioned this to staff who showed no concern. The night shift PA had. A very poor attitude, apparently unhappy I was staying the night. Despite asking what labs were drawn in the ED, I was not told all. This having been said, there were several individuals who were outstanding: Matt, ED RN, the ED resident, Katie the pm PA, the ED tech, the ED volunteer and the pharmacist on duty when I checked myself out. All in all, a very demeaning and dehumanizing experience. Marge Mattice, (MSN, APNP-BC)

This is one of the nicest cleanest most professional and caring hospitals I have been to. The staff is caring and attentive and I feel very lucky to live so close to such a great hospital! Truly a great great place to go if you are in need of care.

Perfectly Imperfect

Amazing staff at eevery level! Very compassionate and caring and genuine. Also fantastic food!!

#7 in the US, and #1 in Pulmonary, this hospital is a great place to work. Friendly and wonderful staff make UCHealth one of the best hospitals.

Barry Maldonado

Very frustrating experience. The nurse practitioner that I found via my benefits portal, who I needed as a primary care, was not registered as a primary care with my benefits - I had to call and sort that out on all ends, with ZERO help from UC. After I fixed that - I get a bill because this satellite office is considered out-patient, even though the nurse was in-network. NOT once did anyone tell or advice me or give me a hint to any this. I went to talk with some at the office, they listened and said they would follow up with me. NO ONE FOLLOWED UP WITH ME....NO ONE. Called the billing office for UC/CU spoke to agents, they explained that it was an outpatient office, I asked to speak with a boss because I had done my homework with finding someone in network, the supervisor and me played phone tag some. I called back a week ago to try to connect again...NOTHING. I accept that I am paying this fee I was charged, but NOT ONE person has followed up with me or anything. I will never go back and I will be sure to tell everyone how terrible my experience was and do everything I can to convince them not establish care with UC.

I went to them when I was having a miscarriage, the staff was extremely insensitive to what was going on. They treated me like I was less than, they basically made me sit on a pad and bleed out. No one wants to sit in the baby that their body is rejecting. I was very dehydrated and requested water maybe 6 times before they actually brought some. It was traumatic. They next day I went to university and they took much better care of me and even agreed the staffs behavior was unprofessional

Mark Mccurdy

Great staff. With knowledgeable doctors and nurses, caring and friendly housekeepers and patient transportation, your stay at UCHEALTH will be great. With your health as their main concern, they'll make your road to recovery as best as possible.

Amanda Matthews

The care is great. The down fall is you need to plan on an extra hour or so to find parking. You would like with a campus this large you could find parking. It is a shame that valet services take the priority over being to park yourself or to even drop off or pick up.

Ria Delaney

Been in the waiting room for HOURS. Unbelievable. It's really sad because I came here because they took great care if my husband but I can't believe this. I'm in so much pain :(

Karen Martin

The doctors are great and the care was the best, however the billing department is a nightmare! I was told by the doctor that the procedure was totally out patient. It was a 20 minute procedure to change a battery. We went there and watched as he went thru the outpatient lines on the tv screen in the waiting area and all was as planned. The doctor said it started a little late since he was still busy with the previous patient. In recovery my husband said he was ready to go about 20 minutes in, but they made him wait the required 30 minutes, which was fine. The doctors bills reflected this and i had no problem, but imagine my surprise when i got a bill for 220,210.23. I know medicare paid most of it but the complete bill said the operation took 63 minutes, there were 2 levels of recovery room at 123 minutes--he only had a local since it was only a battery replace and all the wiring was already in place--and he left with a bandaid. If this was not a big enough surprise i was told in the bill that the battery cost 189,643 dollars. When i complained i was told that it was just a small portion for me to pay, so i opened a dispute and was told again that the bill was correct. I believe with the discrepancies that this is either an abuse of medicare for charging for services we did not recieve or they have the patients mixed up. I don't know what else to do. I am old and this has stressed me out. I am my husbands sole care giver. He has parkinsons and this was for his dbs. I do not want to be taken to collections. This happened on April 10, 2019 in the morning

The nurses were great...But I went in the ER at 3 am due to bad stomach pain with nausea on my left side. They took blood test. I sat in there until almost 8am just be told they didn't know what was causing my pain. Kinda made me feel like I was lying. They prescribed me Pepcid which has made me feel worse. Day 2 after leaving and my stomach is feeling worse. I wouldn't say they were incompetent but maybe just didn't do or want to do everything they can to help figure out what was wrong with me. However my nurse was extremely helpful and concerned.

They have a clinic located at Stapleton. The manager of this facility is smug arrogant and clueless. The people that work there are lazy, mean spirited and short tempered. They roll their eyes and show their exasperation to the patients, unable to show any compassion or empathy. They speak to the patients as if they are bothered by them. They are untrained and unprofessional. They are slow to fill prescriptions or process referrals, and it is always someone else's fault. And all of this bad behavior is only possible because management is so bad.

20 N Ripped

Outstanding people working here. My only issue is the parking. I had to park in a different parking lot 4 blocks away. Not a big deal though. I understand. Its a busy Hospital.

Carolyn Hall

They discharged a homeless mentally ill veteran after an evaluator decided after 15 minutes he wasn't mentally ill enough. We specifically asked for a plan of care and resources for this person, they didn't provide that, they discharged him at 330 in the morning, and they'll "get back to us in 3 business days." Evil, lazy, unforgivable.

Panic King

Went in to the ER for an ulcer issue that I just wanted examined and given possibly anti-biotics or anything to help the pain. Ended up setting up an appointment instead with my usual doctor at a different location a week out, and deal with the pain in the meantime and hope it doesnt get worse. Checked into the ER at 4:20p Discharged myself at 8:30p I waited for 4 HOURS, handed a $102 bill, and was never seen or examined. Dont go unless you're legit dead and or dying, because the wait for an ER help will kill you alone. General staff was helpful and sorry for the problem, doctors assistant scoffed at the notion that I knew it was an ulcer (no joke). Didnt seem to believe me.

Absolutely horrible team of docs and nurses working in the emergency room here. Went in with severe chest pain and the lady that walked me back to my room didn't even look like she worked there, she had a backpack on with large coat and had all key cards to access all doors in the back. She told me to go in room 10 and sit down, never offered wheelchair or had any concerns about my current state of health it seemed. Once i was in the room i had a nurse come in then a doctor in which i then explained everything of what was going on in clear detail. Doctor had selective hearing i could tell because she asked the same questions after i explained everything and acted as if she never once heard some of the things i told her. She then came up with a plan of action in which i was satisfied with but then 5min later another doctor came in asking all the same questions. I could tell this other doctor was also not listening carefully either. He leaves then the nurse comes back with a GI coctail. Felt rushed to drink it as he kept pushing for me to just get it done. I even told him I have a bad gag reflex and that I would need a minute to get myself ready to slurp down a big gulp of some very horrible tasting stuff. Once I drank it down he left the room and after about 30min I was feeling worse with chest pains near my heart so i went to the door and informed him. He just kinda shrugged his shoulders and told me to wait patiently. I went back in my room and heard the team of doctors and nurses joking around and laughing. I waited about another 10min and told him I wanted my discharge paperwork so i can go to another hospital. Doc came up to me and I asked her about her plan of action and she said it was up to her supervisor. I then told her that I was wanting to goto another hospital since they don't seem to take chest pain seriously enough. She just said okay have a good one and off she went. It was 4:30am on a Monday morning and the hospital was super slow. If they let severe chest pains go this easy I wouldn't dare go there for anything. It was by far the worst care ever received there and I certainly know the difference of good care versus little to no care.

Spencer Weston

They took my appendix out, but made me wait for 4 hours before doing so...also 6 different doctors asked me the same questions as if one hadn't talked to the other. Otherwise, I'm still alive so unless I die from some sort of internal appendix complications not yet revealed, I'll give you a 4-star. :)

James Armstrong

Most consistently unprofessional staff it has ever been my misfortune to deal with. If you are needing medical help, I strongly suggest you consider seeking treatment ANYWHERE else.

Mirna Torres

My family and I came in since we were transferred from another hospital. We went in through the HR and both of the people from security were really nice. One of the nurses was extremely rude and seemed bothered by the fact that my dad wasn’t able to speak English correctly. She kept on giving attitude the whole time and as she was confirming the information she just kept on rolling her eyes. I honestly felt like an idiot the whole time simply by the way she was treating me. When coming in to a hospital people should not be expericing this type of treatment since they are there to help and make you feel better instead of making you want to leave. I really hope they fix this. This was the worst hospital experience I have ever had.

David Cox

Unless... you are dying. Avoid UC Healthcare at all costs. They call themselves UC Healthcare because... Incompetent Healthcare was already taken. This post could go on for days so I'll just hit the low spots. Today, six months after my procedure I get a call from a collection agency saying I was in arrears and they were going to sue me. First, they claimed I was uninsured. Then after proving I was insured she said I needed to call my insurance company and find out why my claim had been rejected twice. Are you ready? Can you guess? They submitted my claim to the wrong insurance company! They will happily turn you over to collections but would NEVER consider calling you to verify your information.

Absolutely terrible hospital!,as far as i can tell the school is no better as they seem to be teaching students to make the same mistakes year after year that have almost cost my father his life twice now, both visits could have come from a script with almost the exact same errors committed in the exact same time frame!,they also conveniently misplaced significant sections of his records from the last visit in 2015!,on top of being a practical death sentence for anyone who goes through the icu they are somehow listed as a high level care facility so the paramedics will take you there against your will anywhere east of denver apparently, naturally because they want all the money they can get they will drag their feet and outright lie about transferring to another facility.this place should be shut down by the same federal government that protects it from malpractice suits and funds they're obviously flawed school! My dad was in for high blood pressure and constipation both times and ended up on life support within 4 days!,also both times! :(

Healthcare staff at this hospital are generally good. However, do not trust this hospital to abide by HIPAA and respect your privacy. One of their employees who was not assigned to my healthcare team checked my medical records and proceeded to tell her friends and family about medical condition. I brought this up to seek a legal settlement for psychological damages and it was denied. The hospital's privacy officer personally called me and compared their huge mistake and my psychological damages to the case of Empire actor, Mr. Smollett. This hospital needs to get new people in charge because they do not care. Edit: No one contacted me after they replied to my Google Review. Public relations trying to make themselves look good by replying but do not take care of the problem. Horrible job brought to you by their PR Department.

MILEHIGH JAX

Great hospital.. my problem is with the Valet service, I was there over 2 hours. Got my car back. I could tell they left my car running for over 2 hours while it was parked. What a waste of gas! Never will use Valet again!

Herman Hoggleboggle

Worst cardiac experience of my life. Surgeons were A+ , but nursing staff on the 7th floor were useless. Every request for help or assistance to get to the toilet with 2 chest tubes, multiple monitors, etc was met with "Oh, we don't do that, you'll have to find a CNA and then I would be left. 2 weeks there and I was never washed, hair washed, given mouthwash, etc. I did complain to Nursing Management and after months received a letter telling me how all "My" nurses remembered me so much and love sitting with me on the weeks of sleepless nights . BS...........

I could not get into my general practitioner, so I visited the ER for a diabetes check and to make sure it was not contributing to any prior heart palpitations. I had no immediate symptoms when I arrived. I asked the entry person how much it would cost to get tested for these items and to get checked out. They indicated that I would be a Level 1 to Level 3 entry with costs peaking at $813 (based on actual graph posted on their website). They decided to run an EKG, which came up totally fine and blood test was totally fine (even though they didn't even test me directly for diabetes). All indications suggested that I was quite healthy with no red flags. The doctor then forced me to do an X-ray (yes.....x-ray for god knows what reason.) They said I had no choice, it was the doctor's order. I did not authorize this item and was held hostage to the emergency room even though I had no immediate health conditions or symptoms pointing to such. I was healthy and left the ER. A month later I receive a bill of nearly $10,000 (before insurance) and about $2,400 in combined bills (after insurance). By the way, I have excellent insurance as my wife works at the children's hospital. With no immediate medical symptoms or signs of any emergency, they charged me as a level 5 emergency! That's the highest possible rating in emergency room setting (same as being shot or having a heart attack). Obviously, this should not have applied to me at all. These people are crooks and are only concerned about getting paid.......not your health. If I actually had an emergency, I would rather die than go to this hospital. It is scary to imagine how much they would try to charge my family in the event of an actual emergency. Do yourself a favor and go to another hospital.

Liz V

I went into the burnt center and I'm fascinated with all the kind nurses and doctors, great service so patient and knowledgeable. The hospital is very clean and great atmosphere, Well worth the bill, I would recommend it any time. Thank you so much for everything UCHEALTH!

Scotty Mustard

I was there last year for a brain surgery for my epilepsy. The staff were awesome and we're there no matter what I needed, their nursing staff In the epilepsy wing made me feel like family and my drs actually cared about what I was going through and how I felt. These people made me laugh during the rough times and we're there during the times of fear of what I was going through. Their the reason I've been epilepsy free for over a year now and the reason I go back to see them rather I have an appointment or not.

This is what's makes ticked off at all the negative comments on here, is that UCHealth is Colorado University's Hospital. Learn that by GOING TO THIS HOSPITAL you are 1.. Being treated by New Students who CARE about your health to be studying at this Hospital. 2nd. The Doctors training these students are Professionals to their line of duty. and 3rd if you're going to complain about your Doctor changing the schedule around DON'T WHINE ABOUT IT!!!!!, they have busy schedules both personally and professionally dealing with multiple patients daily.

I was charged 7k for a chest X-ray and an Ekg! I spent 8 hours in the hospital ER. A total of 8 hours waiting and never even got a room- after a car took a red light-MVA. The doc spoke to me for a good minute and was a bit passive with me. I was curious why, but I overheard the doc say “ the guy that caused the MVA is here”. Sad, but I felt judged and the sad part is that I was the victim. The other guy took the red light and the police report says that. I have solid health insurance and Talk about a 21st century form of oppression. I didn’t need a room or need empathy, but why would I pay 7k for a simple ekg, chest X-ray, and poor service? I called to request an itemized bill, but they refuse to release it to me or mail me one. I find it highly concerning that I can’t get an itemized bill and still ask for the remaining payment. Be cautious of the billing fruad being committed and report it to the state!

Jessica Medina

I went here yesterday around 10 am and I got checked in quickly. The check out was just as quick with friendly staff. Dr. Easter attended me and he was a little insensitive to my ear that was already in so much pain. He shoved a q tip down my ear to clean it up to get a better look in my ear

I like this hospital want to learn here

Kevin Dasenbrock

Went in the hospital in October of 2017 with arm swelling and very discolored. Got referred to the only person in that hospital that does thoracic outlet syndrome surgery. Waited all day in my hospital room to talk to him. They wouldn’t discharge me until i saw him and he never came. Come to find out he was not even on campus that day

Horrible place to give birth. My aunt had such a traumatic experience. After they told her she was 37 weeks and needed to have the baby (she was on a lot of insulin but the baby could have stood in longer) they gave her a day That they would put her into labor. When she’s didn’t want to because the baby was still too small 3 pounds 5 ounces On the day of delivery one nurse knocked over the iv and ripped it out of her hand making blood go everywhere. Then the nurse went to put the epidural in and did it wrong so another nurse had to come and poke her in the SPINE AGAIN. The baby was too stressed out that they had to do an emergency c section. After staying in the Nicu for a week. We then find out that she was only 35 weeks and the doctor told us that usually they Have a lot of Growth at 37weeks which was why she only weighed 3 pound 5 ounces when she was born. Now she’s on oxygen because she can’t keep her oxygen levels up. From the start this was by far her worst pregnancy experience she’s ever had.

My daughter was seen in their outpatient clinic where she received good care. We had a billing problem which was ultimately resolved by their patient advocate in our favor.

Jennifer Knight

Sad to say, but UCH makes the VA look like Nirvana by comparison. Need to talk to your doc? It won't happen; no one will patch you through. Need to talk to a nurse? Sorry, your call will get patched through to a call center, and you don't get to talk to a nurse. Frustrated that after weeks of calling no one will get back to you? Want to leave a message for the patient advocate? Sorry, they won't answer the phone (ever) but their message machine says they'll get back to you "in three business days" translated means "when we get damn good and ready, but don't hold your breath." Then the patient advocate message says "if you need assistance call the front desk and they will help you." So, you follow their instructions but the front desk phone folks say "sorry, we can't transfer you to administration or to a doctor, all we can do is transfer you to the call center." Then, lets talk about actually seeing a provider. After you call for weeks and weeks, the call center will transfer you down some other rabbit hole, and you can get an appointment in, say, about two months. If you can't make that appointment, you might as well resolve to the fact that you will die of old age long before you get to see a provider. Then, in the breathtaking possibility that you get to see a provider and you've waited the requisite number of months to get in, the doc will order "tests." (read: pathology). The turnover in the pathology department is so bad that when they run test that Best Practices say you should have results on in less than 72 hours, UCHealth misread that, and you will get your tests, maybe, as soon as 72 days. You will probably have died from your disease by then. If you do actually get to a human being (only in the call center, forget about anywhere else) do not expect human kindness. If you're feeling bad, or frustrated, or you're really sick, you will NEVER hear them say "please" "thank you" or "I'm sorry you're going through this." The few people actually allowed to talk on the phone there apparently have been instructed to be as curt as possible to reduce the desire of patients to ever call back. In short - if you are required to go through UCHealth for any reason, make sure your will is up to date and that you have written instructions for your family and loved ones about what you want them to do in the event of your death, since you will probably die many months before you get hold of a human being at UCH. Good luck.

I was here for 5 days with my wife and I have been noticing the nurses don't know what they are doing this is very concerning for me as my wife had a c section. Very unprofessional I won't be coming back here. I will be taking my daughter elsewhere to a place I feel more comfortable with.

Liza Patterson

worst experience ever with medical professionals. Never will return that hospital for care

T Mekonnen

This is a place all the staff doesn't care about your pain they disappear for hrs. Without giving a treatment a place where you walk in with pain and leave the same way 0

Dave Masters

Staff at UCH terrible. Experienced lies and laziness. The it dept hacks records and changes them at will. Drs are good though use other hospital.

Michelle Goodall

In January i suffered a major stroke. Complete blockage in my brain and in my heart. If it weren't for the fine doctors and staff at UCHealth, i wouldnt be here right right! They took amazing care of me with expertise and kindness. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

JC -

These people don't care. Go somewhere else. They'll have you make appointments, but the Dr will always be an hour late.

Jazzy P

I would give zero stars for this if I could. My daughter went in very sick and I had high hopes she would receive the best care possible. I am sure plenty of lives were saved here and there are plenty of nurses that care but if your loved one is unfortunate enough to end up on the 7th floor then I will pray for you. The nurses are lazy, unprofessional and do not and I REPEAT do not care about their patients. There was maybe 1 or 2 that did and don't get me started on the CNA's. The charge nurse is a complete joke! She lies and does not have your loved ones interest at heart. They would not even give my daughter a shower. A shower! the basic of all necessities. No dignity was given to my daughter who checked herself out due to the unbearable conditions on this floor. Patient reps did nothing and they are biased and do not let them tell you any different. The doctors did not explain any of my daughters tests to her and forced her to undergo painful and continuous antibiotics because "it was easier on the nurses" what a joke! Do not let your loved ones on this floor. My daughter was given a death sentence now thanks to the harsh treatment she was given and was forced to check herself out of the hospital. Pathetic. *note to you so called nurses on this floor-if you hate your job that much QUIT!

After one year of having my son and getting a tubal ligation, somehow I'm 1 out of 200 women that got pregnant and no one has answers. It's pretty disappointing.

I was recently admitted for an acute flair up from a lifetime of genetic Kidney disorder. The first night I was there through vomiting a nurse comes in with a security guard at 3 a.m. to do a non consensual search. I was transferred by ambulance from out of state so all I had with me was my purse & a bag my husband threw together. I did not understand why they were searching & terrorizing me. I was visibly confused, upset & crying asking why. The nurse said on my last visit it appears something was in the chart that warranted a search. Her answer only brought more confusion & upset me even further. I began to record without capturing faces what they were doing. It is not lawful to search anyone without consent. So they finish & one of the doctors on my team comes in & tells me nothing was in my chart that she is in her words targeting patient's who are on high doses of certain medications not only patients but friends, families, visitors of said patient will also be searched with or without consent. She then demanded I delete my recording or she would send in security to confiscate my phone & delete it. I did not come into the Hospital with anything & the medications I was on was prescribed & given by them. I was so upset alone in the Hospital & terrified. I then stayed awake for 5 days out of fear finally out of pure exhaustion fell asleep on the 5th day to be awakened by a horrible nurse who did not actually wake me she was pulling on my I.V tubing causing some severe pain because my arms were destroyed from 6+attempts to start an I.V and at least 2 to 3 draws per lab tech. I then expressed to this nurse that I had to use the restroom she ignored me over and over so I naturally headed to the restroom. That really is nothing in comparison to the profiling & discrimination I received the very first night of my hellish stay in this Hospital. I have never been treated so poorly. Their treatment of me was unwarranted. I have lab testing, Positive genetic test's to prove I have an uncontrolled rare disease that unfortunately requires medical care sometimes & have never in my life abused a Physician's or medical facilities care but I have had to face being admitted for ling stays alone & I have been abused multiple times because no one is with me to witness the cruelty except this time I had my phone a recorder & video. Again,in my video I show no one's faces. I was in a teaching hospital, public domain & hospital or not I do have rights but said Doctor "you have no rights" If this is future Healthcare I hope to die before ever needing Hospital care in my future & I am still fairly young. I do not know how to process all of this because I chose the Hospital because I felt I could trust them & get my care through their clinic's & that has been a nightmare. I saw a recommended pain therapist I confided in her & she took my words outside of her walls again without my consent & confronted my primary physician. That cost me my Doctor & for the management staff to blame me for something that would have never been known if not for this "pain therapist"she boasted about being only one of a handful. Well now I know why they don't have many because it's a farce. They use your words against you provide no confidentiality. So I have lost my faith in all & that is scary because I will need medical care until I die. I have been pushed to the point of thinking everyday how I can and will end it before allowing another "medical professional, facility" to help me. The stay in the Hospital was a nightmare & they did not focus or test the acute problem instead they focused on the underlying condition dismissing a possible illness other than the Genetic condition causing it all. I feel scared & alone without faith or trust in Healthcare and this Hospital rushed my feeling along. No one no matter what they are taking in or outside of a Hospital should be searched without consent. Being in a Hospital does not take away your rights nor does it say hey I'm here alone so you can beat me up & abuse me. I had to share my experience where to go now IDK!

The care that my husband has received thus far has been good as far as doctors' care. Most of the nurses have been good, in some cases not great. On one day, we sat in his room for almost 5 hours with not one visit from the nurse and they were well over an hour late for his pain meds. He was previously at Aurora Health South and if there is a need to be hospitalized or choose an ER again I will go out of my way to go there instead. Trying to maneuver through UC Health's system is aggravating and slow. Call the main line and expect to be on hold for anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes, then transferred to whatever department only to leave a voice mail. We needed a Notary for some paperwork that needs to be signed by the end of the week. I called Patient Services and they stated they no longer provide that service. I'm starting to wonder what services this hospital actually offers besides surgery. When I asked if they could direct me to someone who could help me with information on where to go she basically said, I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do. NEVER again, if it is in my power, will I ever choose this hospital. (This was not my first experience with UC Health; I'm not basing this solely on this hospital stay).

Today I had my first and last appointment with David Yurevich Khechoyan MD. I waited almost 2 months to be seen after a referral from my PCP. I was told to be 15 minutes early. I was 20 minutes early and for nothing. I had a 1:30 appointment and quickly overheard another patient had a 1:30 as well with the same doctor. Double booked. It’s no wonder I didn’t get called back until 2:00. After seeing a nurse I waited again until some young boy claiming to be some sort of doctor comes in. He was very patronizing and had no bedside manner. He left and returned several minutes later with the actual doctor. To summarize the rest… David Yurevich Khechoyan MD said he would not help me unless I quit smoking because I would not heal after a small incision. He doesn’t know a thing about me or how I heal. I have had multiple breaks and lacerations and even a recent surgery that resulted in an incision having to be left open to heal from the inside out. I have always healed fine and quickly. David Yurevich Khechoyan MD is obviously more concerned with seeing as many patients as possible instead of seeing patients and spending quality time with them. I refuse to trust a doctor that is in a rush to get from one patient to the next. David Yurevich Khechoyan MD has a poor bedside manner as well. UC Health should be embarrassed to have a man like this at their hospital.

Sterling Wells

Literally the worst healthcare provider for so, so many reasons. I won't bore you with my sob story but do yourself a favor and avoid UCHealth if you can.

Brandy McCracken

I would not go back to this hospital group. The doctors I met with did not really care about me or my health. I was highly encouraged to consider an inappropriate treatment regimen before my testing was complete. They care about making money, not about you. GO TO DRS IN PRIVATE PRACTICE!

abdolaziz azimi

Amazing Not nice bad about not going to emergency

Breann Chrisp

The place is awful I do not recommend it. The Doctor was awful. He questioned the time we had came in and was acting as though we were inconvenienceing him! Things weren’t communicated about after care and payment. The doctor said Ibuprofen would be enough to take care of the pain after the procedure was done and that is not the case. They charge you for things you didn’t get. When I tried to call because they have you pay through a third party “bill pay” the place had no record of me oweing money so I called the UCHealth to ask what’s going on and they said they would call me back and never did.

My wife and I have been there many times, because my wife has medical issues that "must" be addresses. Personally, we know and believe that these people are racist/predudice people, that treat Black patients with indifference. It seems that they are out to get as much money out of the provider, as they possibly can, while treating us like dummies, that they would rather not have to deal with, but have too. On the other hand, we have had nurses that were of the very best. I have always believed in University Hospital, but I sincerely believe that, the young white nurses and techs need to be screened, and trained, so that everyone is treated the same. My wife is in the medical field, so we know what we're talking about

Emilija Cusack

Top hospital, top doctors, top technology. The negative reviews on the Internet remind me of the saying "complaining" about a miracle.

I have been coming here on and off since about April 24th 1977 when at one time it was called Colorado General. When I was DX with Severe Congenital heart defects. Until pediatric Cardiologist moved to Children's Hospital. Now since 2014 I am seeing adult congenital heart defects doctor. #TOF #PA #DORV #IPS

I observed a client of UCHealth Anschutz fall in the crosswalk on 1/18/19 at approximately 7:35 am. This is the crosswalk to get you across the street to the outpatient area for appointments etc. The 70ish woman fell forward to the ground her purse went flying scattering things in the street. Cars stopped in the intersection. I was upset this happened and noticed why—pothole in the crosswalk and a generally unsafe surface overall. The woman did get up and went on her way but sometimes injuries aren’t always apparent. So I write this to let her know I’m a bystander witness and also to create awareness on how UCHealth does not care to address this concern. After my doctor’s appointment I asked the valet attendant if she could take responsibility to notify appropriate personnel about this safety concern. She says she couldn’t and referred me to the information desk inside the building. The information desk gave me a patient representative card. You can call that number but a live person has never answered in my attempts to communicate with anyone. I left a message. I still did not trust anything would be done. I approached the security man at his desk which is located near the information area. He referred me to patient representative again and I said I really don’t like the fact that someone cannot take responsibility to see this gets addressed. The security guy did go out to the crosswalk to see where this lady fell and we noticed several areas where the surface is raised and could trip someone. The patient care representative called me back today 1/19/19 saying she understood I was a bystander and that she has not heard from the woman who fell. She goes on to say the street is owned by the City of Aurora so it’s not their responsibility. I asked if she contacted the city to get it fixed. Immediately after my statement she hung up. I then called the City of Aurora to put in a complaint. I advised no one from the hospital seemed interested in the safety of their customers to and from the hospital to get to and from their parked car. I gave information on where the crosswalk was located. I am appalled by UCHealth’s inaction to this very obvious patient safety concern. More than likely over a thousand people cross this crosswalk every day. This is not an exaggeration. Even if UCHealth does not own the street I would think they would like their customers to safely reach their facility and safely return to their cars when leaving the facility. One little piece of parcel they don’t own but the damage done to the street is caused by their customers. I’m concerned about the woman and the safety of all that cross the crosswalk after surgeries, after chemotherapy, after traumatic experiences when attention to detail might be less than normal. People are older, are unsteady on their feet, use walkers, use canes... It was a disturbing event for me and I am not happy with how UCHealth responded. After all, these are not drunk people leaving a bar that could fall...these are the sick, the old, the dollar making customers for UCHealth we are talking about. Shame on you UCHealth, you are a disgrace to the community. And, being a teaching hospital you taught me one very obvious thing—you don’t CARE! Shame, shame, shame on you.

Keith Fletcher

This hospital is a total joke. I would recommend going somewhere else for emergent care. I went into the emergency room this morning with some debilitating back pain. The doctors and PA did absolutely nothing. The discharge paperwork says they did an exam but one was not performed. They gave me tylenol and released me. DONT GO HERE! I also insisted that the doctor set up an MRI for me. The discharge papers stated that an appt was made. I called radiology directly to verify and they stated no appt was made. I also called to verify that my insurance information was correct and the nurse threatened to remove my insurance so that I would be self pay, very unethical. SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY.

Carmen Collins

I've been coming here for the last 3 years. Love my Dr and Nurses they are taken godd care off me

Dianna Arienta

MONEY GUZZLER even with good insurance and in network! Deceiving with the whole primary issue. The primary charges differently than a primary at a solo or group. Crazy. Outrageous prices and when called 8 times and had a 1 hour meeting with the Lonetree Manager, still have not heard back. Now the nastygrams are coming for less than a $1000.00 owed only since mid JUNE. Be prepared for false billing, tricky methods of billing

Went to the ER this past weekend with some unexplained but severe swelling in my ankles that had been going on for multiple weeks. I saw a GP a week prior to my ER visit, this doctor provided a preliminary diagnosis of Gout, but we didn't have any formal tests to back up that claim. I essentially went to the ER to figure out if this is gout or not....however, despite the quart + of blood drawn for testing....Not a single ounce of that blood was used for gout related tests. My blood showed generally normal results with the exception of some inflammatory indicators (which was obvious), and I still didn't get the answers for my main question....is this gout? or is this something different? Because they were not able to diagnose based on the tests performed, the ER Doctors tried to set me up with a follow up appointment 2 MONTHS LATER!!! This was out of control... Other Issues Include: Lack of communication (doctor to patient, and doctor to doctor). They were discharging me without ever speaking with a doctor other than the preliminary inspection....I obviously didn't let them do that. Performed Tests/X-Rays in parts of my body unaffected by my situation. I just feel this visit was incredibly expensive, and didn't provide answers to any questions I had...They basically left it up to me to schedule follow up appointments if I wanted to see someone earlier than 2 months after my visit....and the general feel in the place is dis-organization. Not impressed, and would recommend seeking care elsewhere if at all possible.

Dystanie Gutierrez

The over all hospital is a great hospital. The nurses are usually very nice and helpful. But the doctors dont care about the support team for the client. The doctors are rude and seem to rather be teachers then actual doctor's, they love to point out how they are right and what everyone else says is wrong. Even if it is what another doctor says.

Susan Story

Big box healthcare. This place seems like it's is so wrapped up in its teaching that they don't tune into their patient's needs. Never did get a doctor to talk to on any kind of meaningful level. What a huge disappointment after a good start. So many bureaucratic levels that made a miserable stay. The actual doctor in our case seemed a tad hostile, enough to put a big communication wall up. We will not be back, and don't recommend this place for healthcare with a human touch. Like I said, big box healthcare machine.

Elizabeth Sher

I can’t stand the way patients are treated by UCHEALTH. You never are given an opportunity to speak to the doctor you need, some uninterested person sends a message to the doctor, and to be honest, certain things one doesn’t like to discuss with a complete stranger! I feel just frustrated because how does some receptionist know how I feel ? They tell you “oh you saw the doctor a few months ago- what does that help if you are still suffering? I feel the confidence in any of the doctor is disapated by this totally sterile handling of patients. If I go to a doctor, I want his business card, I want to be able to reach him on a weekend if I need him. I feel that any personal contact has gone out of medicine completely. It is just a cash cow!

Bill Sandberg

Two words. Julia Porter. This has to be the worst UC Health has to offer! She was completely unprofessional and honestly clueless in what she was supposed to do. I felt bad for her. Hope the best for her but she is clearly over her head in her current occupation. UC Health can do better.

Alyssa Whiteplume

It’s a good hospital, besides emergency room side. Lots of people here to be seen and I observed 5 nursing sitting around VISITING. Imagine that no wonder you packed today took us 6 hours to be completely done with an regular visit.

adea boyd

Anytime I have been in either outpatient or inpatient care the medical and support staff have always been wonderful. I have seen Neurologist all across the state. I live hours away from them and I drive there for all my neurological care. It is worth it! I recommend this hospital to everyone.

Rayna Overcash

Long wait at pharmacy but had to wait for doc to approve a refill. Always helpful here

Hayley Brumwell

Only reason I’m giving two stars is that that the nurse was quick and attentive. Dr didn’t bother to look at note prior to consult in ER (very big things on there), and made himself look like an ass. Prediagnosed conditions and surgeries he had no idea about. Argumentative and condescending. Will never come back

Aminah Stewart

First off worst hospital since it moved to Aurora, but the old wasn't any better either. It seems like your in a classroom of student doctors and nurse, so everything is a guessing game with your health here now. Your over charged for poor care and disrespectful staff. The parking is horrible and the valet is a joke, have more car scraps than appointments. Have been verbally assaulted by numerous valet and CNAS than I can count on my fingers and toes. This balance is filthy from the ER to patient rooms, clinics, cafeterias and can go on, my family ends ox sicker when leave this place. My spouse was misdiagnosed in the ER, along with myself. I personally will never come here for care and trying to find a better hospital and clinics that truly support handicapped patients. Moving this hospital onto the old Fitzsimmons was a disgrace to the community and veterans. If you can go anywhere else please do so for financially, mentally and physically

Merkel Jones

Worst care ever waited 4hrs for a simple CT scan.refused to give me water when I'm not a risk not coming back here ever health one from now on.

UCH Sucks

If you are suffering from mental health issues, you should avoid UCH at all costs. Please seek help if you are suffering or thinking of hurting yourself, but avoid UCH!. The behavioral health staff filled me with additional guilt, shame, and despair and made me feel even more insecure and unsafe about my situation. In my opinion they are incompetent. Trust me, they are not there to help you!! I was NOT treated with the compassion and care that I needed. I was treated by the behavioral health staff as a BAD PERSON vs. a person who has a mental health disorder/crisis in need of help and treatment. They were more interested in enforcing their policies and filling out paperwork, and were not interested in actually helping me or making me feel safe and secure. Again please seek help if you are suffering or thinking of hurting yourself, but AVOID UCH FOR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES!!

Pamela Gray

BEWARE: I went to the ER in February of 2018 and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (a cold, basically). The bill: $8,058.90. This did not include one of the Dr's bills which I received separately (an additional $615). My insurance company was not billed until December (9 months later). In March of 2019 I received yet another bill... they just keep coming. What's worse is that I never recovered from this "respiratory infection" and was admitted to the hospital in Oregon in critical condition 8 weeks later. Fortunately, they were able to diagnose and treat me. Please don't tell me to "contact a billing representative" unless they are actually authorized to do something other than read my statement to me.

George Kimbill

Want to be ridicule in the emergency room? Give them your credentials and they want to charge you and not your insurance company? Have them poke your arm 10 or more times because your an old man with bad veins and bruise you? This is the place for you! Had a heart attack was sent here, the doctors were laughing about it because they thought it was just a minor thing until the tests came back positive.

Asha Bee

This is the worst place to go for care; the staff are very unprofessional. I went to the ER this weekend after being in an auto accident. The staff that admitted me were very impatient and rude. I've been to the ER twice in the last 4 days and both times I was treated poorly. I will never go back to this place. The campus looks nice but the staff surely isn't. I do not recommend this place at all. There are certainly other hospitals in which the staff genuinely care about their patient's.

Park Major

Excellent care, excellent treatment! Everyone acted with true professionalism. I received state of the art care for a rare medical problem that required special treatments. I couldn't have asked for any better care.

Chandra Donley

Hi , nice and clean what a professional atomoshere. Got seen by a physician in a reasonable time.

Stephanie Garcia

My sister worked here as a Medical Scribe in the emergency department. They do not take a good care of their employees which makes me suspicious as to how they would be able to care for us civilians. From the stories I have heard from her, I pray to god that I would never need to be seen at this ER.

My husband has been a patient at Anschutz Urologic Oncology Center. Having been treated there in 2006 for Testicular Cancer, my husband felt very comfortable to go back and receive treatment for low T in 2018. Let me say this has been the worst patient experience for both of us hands down! The office is very disorganized, the staff is rude and unaccommodating, and they held my husband's medical records hostage because he would not come down and do any more tests. My husband has been out of work for almost 2 years from Low T. The testosterone injections are making him very sick and no one at the hospital seems to care. They keep pushing the synthetic hormone injections and more tests to see that his levels are STILL very unacceptable. Please, go anywhere else but here for low T! I am sorry to say the hospital we experienced 10 years ago is not the same hospital we experience today. Shame on you University!!!

Larita Howard

Do not come here to have a baby. I understand this is a teaching hospital and they must learn but it’s not worth the risk. A few women I know have had their babies here and experienced permanent issues.

queen.selene queen.selene

2/19 Very inconvenient and unprofessional. I see now why they have so many bad reviews. If you are trying to seek treatment from the oncology department, please don’t go to this hospital. They don’t reach out about anything at all, you have to call them first. You have to be the patient, doctor, social worker, and whatever else. If I would’ve never took it upon myself to call and see what’s going on, I would probably be seeing my doctor again next year sometime. They only have one social worker so you can’t switch. Two neuro oncology doctors. One have horrible reviews and the other is not ‘that’ bad, but it’s very hard to understand what he says. He also doesn’t communicate with patients nor have a professional team. He supposed to had reached out to me weeks ago to followup with me and schedule my MRI. Not a call or anything. Ms. Suzanne, a nurse, is the messenger for the social worker because she’s afraid to call patients. Then there’s Jenna who acts indifferent about everything as if she can care less and whatever she says is final, and that is that. You can literally hear it in her voice. It’s like a circus and a complete waste of time. I just hope that I get better very soon so that I don’t have to ever come here again. Really hate that I transferred because this hospital is complete garbage. You would honestly be better off using Google search to look up stuff and find treatments. That’s practically what they suggest anyway. If you’re seeking care or have a terminal illness, I do not recommend this hospital. If you want to be Sherlock and look up things on the internet and figure out everything yourself, then be my guest. ***UPDATE*** 3/18/19 I am trying to keep slight faith with the physical therapy rehab dept. despite the extreme unprofessionallism with the hospital’s oncology dept. I just received a call on the 3/13/19 that my very first pt apt (apt. after first visit) was canceled. The DAY OF my apt. I rescheduled for the next day because becoming physically abled again is my #1 goal and I am very determined. I had to waste a lot of money because I was notified in the extreme last minute and my transport has to know at least 48 hrs in advance. I went to the apt. the next day 3/14/19 with a new pt and she talked and asked questions nearly the entire time. She did 90% of talking and only 10% of pt, and this was my 2nd apt. My 1st apt w/the 1st pt was less talking and more pt and we were just getting to know each other. That wasn’t a waste of my time. She honestly did more than my 2nd pt for the 2nd visit/1st day of therapy. They have notes to follow about patients so spending time getting to know patients AFTER their 1st visit is their job before seeing them again, not time wasted on the patients 2nd visit. And now this week I had an apt for 3/22/19. After having to reschedule ALL of my apt for this month, paying a lot of money out of my pocket to reschedule for the next day because I was not notified in advance and there was no other availability, NOW they canceled my next apt. The 2nd one back to back and the 3rd one in line. I tried to reschedule with a ‘third’ new person and apparently there is no more options available this week except for today 3/18/19. I’m afraid that my next apt for next week will be canceled too. Can’t help but to expect the worse when that’s all that you’ve been given. It’s almost like this place is a joke. Everytime you try to keep faith in them they give you another reason to switch to a better company. But for chrissake there’s like nothing out here in this area that’s professional. Healthcare should at least be in the tops but the Marijuana Dispensaries are doing a better job than the pharmaceuticals. Any suggestions about a different, better, and professional hospital that has an oncology dept, and pt rehab in or in proximity of the area is welcomed.

Dr. Burzin Bharucha

A gigantic hospital with several wings, and specialities, an hospital and comes par excellent in providing medical help, and relief to their patients. God Bless.

Kayla cabal

Billing was HORRIBLE. So bad, I am so disappionted

Jim Crandell

I am disappointed in this hospital. My dad was hospitalized because of being compacted. And while still compacted, they gave him meatloaf to eat. That caused him to vomit. He inhaled some of his vomit which caused other complications. We had been trying before this to have him transferred to Aurora Medical. it was only after University messed up that we were able to get him transferred. He ended up passing away in Aurora Medical. Aurora Medical did everything they could to try to save him, but because of University acting the way they did it was too late. If I could I would give University a 0 star rating, however, the lowest I can give is 1 star. University should be closed down until better training is available.

Melody Miles

I had a brain surgery here and received exceptional care. Was back home in 2 days. Doctors were very knowledgeable and caring.

My wife, daughter and I were hit by a drunk driver around midnight. We decided to head to the ER in the morning the next day. When we arrived to the ER the staff immediately began making inappropriate jokes in our presence. We were one of the only AA families in triage at that time. One of the nurses made a remark to another nurse along the lines of "wow im the whitest person in here now. I'm as white as the clouds. I've got you beat". The nurse weighed myself and then weighed me holding my 11 no. Old daughter, which was odd ..why not measure and weigh her normally? Ive never been weighed with my child. Normally they weigh evryone individually. especially given the fact the car was hit on her side. The nurse literally told me to stand on the scale with my child, she took both our weights combined, then told me to stand on the scale on my own. At which point she subtracted my individual weight from the weight with my daughter on my hip.. Thats how they determined how much my preemie 11 month old weighed. IVE NEVER SEEN OR HEARD OF THIS. After taking our weights, we were escorted into a triage room. Never were we asked of allergies to medication, medical history, complications, etc. The doctor came into triage and examined the three of us within 5 minutes tops. He felt my shoulder and back and noted stiffness. He checked my daughter's left arm, and concluded that he believed she was fine. All of this is done in a chair, not even lying down. He never listened to our lungs, nothing. I was placed on an EKG by the NURSE because my heart rate was too high. They then told us we were on the fast track to be discharged. We were so confused our car is totaled, our car flew into the air. We are in PAIN. Why no other tests? Why not check the baby for any head injury, or neck or spinal issues? How was i being discharged with an extremly low oxygen level and a very rapid heart rate. I wascseen out in the hallway and told "your heart rate looks better, you can go" i have a history of stroke and seizure I've never been discharged when having chest pains. EVER. Once given discharge papers, by a new nurse.. I realized there were no discharge instructions regarding follow up care, or medications. The discharge triage had to call the doctor, because he forgot to give prescriptions, or important info moving forward. I decided to ask for info regarding filing a complaint and grievance. The doctors, nurses, info desk, and security refused to provide any info. When i asked the NURSE for his name he hid his badge and said "i don't want you knowing my last name" at which point the staff began laughing in our face. Very disgusted with my experience, and I feel that the staff behaves in an unprofessional, discriminatory manner. I will be seeking medical care elsewhere, and will be seeking legal advice. Stay FAR AWAY from this hospital and emergency room. Beyond disgusted. After reading the reviews it becomes apparent: this hospital is into shady business. They discriminate against people with poor health insurance, yet go all out for those they can bill large sums of money. The amount of complaints of discrimination by people of color is APALLING. They need to be INVESTIGATED. Ive printed every single review, and will be contacting the Office of Civil Rights in DC to report healthcare discrimination and negligence. The fact theyve been able to get away with what theyre doing is disgusting. I will make it my mission to have this hospital investigated.

4 or 5 stars review for the doctors and nurses, but 1 stars for the billing office. They always submit different codes (even for a simple visit) that insurance does not accept and they never change their coding or resubmit the claims. An awful unclear system ! Just as an example, they put diagnostic visit on top of prenatal visit, and therefore I have to pay $50 copay for each prenatal visit! I feel they make money by putting different coding !

This is a review for the outpatient psychiatry “lgbtq” imagine clinic. I had a horrible experience, one of the worst psychiatry experience I’ve ever had. This isn’t an lgbtq clinic, the staff that I met with didn’t seem to have much training of any around lgbtq issues or people. Clinician completely side stepped any of my conversation about it. I think they just want to have the “experience” so they can write it on their profile when they graduate school. Within 10 minutes of my initial intake appointment, the clinician said he didn’t think that I’m autistic (even though I’ve had extensive diagnostic tests) and he doesn’t know me at all. Not a good introduction. After trying 8 different medications and none of them working for me, he told me I was too complex and that nothing else was going to work. The supervisor suggested that I go to intensive outpatient therapy for 4 hours a day instead of trying any more medications. Supervisor was very rigid and not caring at all. He questioned why I couldn’t do 4 hour therapy every day even though I explained to them that I’m not financially stable and needing to work + I’m already going to OT and support groups 2-3 times a week. There are hundreds of medications, but maybe because it is a school they aren’t allowed to prescribe specific things? I’m not sure. They basically made it seem like it’s my fault that nothing worked and that I’m too complex. Not a good way to treat a patient, and I wouldn’t recommend. Really made me feel worse rather than helping. I had low expectations from psychiatrists already- I thought being “lgbtq” specific might make a difference but for me it didn’t.

Let me start of by saying I live across the state in the southwest corner of Colorado. I was given a referral here from a prestigious doctor At Baylor. I have a very rare lung immunodeficiency. The Pulmonary patient health coordinator, Carola, was very rude and not accommodating what so ever. She made me find childcare, take time off work and find boarding to schedule a weeks worth of visits to multiple doctors at the hospital. When I heard from her next, after all the arrangements had been made; she changed all the appointments to dates before and after the time frame we had discussed. With out telling me. Then she ignored all My calls for a week. When a secretary finally put me through to her she informed me that these were the only appointments I could have, even though we had just made different arrangements a week before. With all the money the hospital scams out of people; you would thin they could hire competent staff.

Following up on a previous post - impossible to reach a patient representative when they never answer their phones, and their voice mailbox is full. You say to contact you, but you can never be reached. So please post a phone number of your supervisor, or the direct line to the executive that oversees your department. Or maybe you can tell me why someone that made me feel unsafe in the hospital was allowed in my room, why her name is all over my records? Seriously, when a patient makes a request to remove someone from their care team over safety concerns, perhaps you should take that seriously! Also, where do I send the bill for my ambulance service? The incompetent case manager or behavioral health specialists (the person that made me feel unsafe) booked me on an out of network ambulance now costing me thousands, vs. hundreds that I would have paid for in-network service. Who at UCH is going to pay for this mistake...I guess you don't really care about providing safe, quality and affordable healthcare. Please do something right and post the number of the executive in charge of patient representatives, or are you afraid of accountability??? As stated before AVOID UCH AT ALL COSTS IF YOU NEED TO SEE A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST!!! Follow up - I'm not going to email you confidential information. Please provide a number of the patient representative supervisor or the executive in charge of the department. I've tried calling several more times, and there is still no answer. Again, be accountable and post the number of someone that can resolve this issue. I tried the hospital operator and she's just as worthless - said she was unable to look up the name of the person in change of patient representative department. Please post a number that will actually be answered! DO YOU SEE WHY YOU SHOULD AVOID UCH????

Emergency room experience sucked so bad! Went in there for a horrible dog bite and it took them 2 hours to give me a Vicodin! F this hospital. If you have an emergency go ANYWHERE else.

While i have had a gray experience with the staff I have to say I’m removing all of my family from the entire branch of UCHealth. They have the worst customer service when it comes to billing EVER! All other places have no problem getting bills to us but UC somehow always “gets lost in the mail”. I called several times asking for itemized copies and they “sent” it but nothing is ever received. They are perfectly able to reach me with junk mail but never bills. I have to hunt down the bills so they don’t end up sent to a collector. I had a payment plan set on automatic payment for a big bill we had. We got a letter form a collector today. No idea why. No attempt to tell me if the payment didn’t go through or if we suddenly had another bill show up that wasn’t part of the payment plan or what. No contact from billing ever. No bill or letter in the mail. Nothing. 9 months of prenatal, one hospital birth, and postpartum done with them. I have received 3 bills in the mail, all the others I had to call them to see what the hell was going on.

Amazing staff at every level. Also fantastic food!!Top doctors here! I've received amazing care at this facility.

This is just about the pharmacy. Yesterday my husband got to go home after major surgery and the nurse called down for his meds to be ready. I went down to get them and they were NOT ready so I went to get a bite to eat before our long drive home. Meantime the nurse pushed my husband down in a wheelchair and left him on the curb in the heat. I went back into the pharmacy and he told us that we could not get them until tomorrow so I had to yell a little then I got them by giving my credit card. They overcharged me on everything per GEHA. No one had given the pharmacy our GEHA information. After finally getting his pain meds, etc I went back up to get him and found my five thousand dollar oxygen concentrator out in the hall with the canulla missing. That was when I learned my husband been dumped outside. The nurse got me a cheap plastic cannula which reeked of toxic plastics and I was NOT able to wear it home. The one I had was an outgassed type of plastic (Tygon) which is safe for those of us sensitive to plastics. My husband had been delirious with pain a few nights before. I found UCHealth University to be disorganized overall. They do not exchange information with each other and every day it is a new face. We had meet with a team on the first day up there was which was a MAJOR WASTE OF TIME for us old tired people. One nurse understood this but the rest did not. The only one we needed to meet was the doctor not a bunch of people we would NEVER see again. These "teams" are a big waste of time since they do NOT really exchange information. You would think they would do so. I told several of them that my husband would need extra pain meds but not a single one of them listened to me! My advice is to go anywhere else if you can. Smaller hospitals listen better and have more compassion. Only 2 people at this hospital really had compassion that I know of - Parker got my husband's pain under control and Mrs. Winchester helped (charge nurse).

Huge hospital in Denver Colorado and nice place special the staff RN, doctor respect.

Mike Koss

Wonderful! We ended up here in an emergency. The nursing staff was super friendly and professional. We had a complex test that needed to be performed, and we were scheduled quickly and we got fast results. They really helped us get our issue resolved and they even expedited our discharge so we could catch a flight home.

Tylonda Morris

During this hard time it great to see that there is someone that cares for my uncle just as much as we do.. I want to thank nurse chris he came and asked my aunt if she wanted to give him a shave and play his favorite music. He very help was able to answer any question we may have.

I Worked there back in 1991 to 94 then again in 2017. I enjoyed working there. The staff has since changed. I couldn't remember much at first but going through some of my things I found old paperwork showing my old bosses names. I remember working on the 6th floor which was oncology then we moved to the 8th floor. I remember a pregnant woman going into labor in the lobby. I remember losing my coat because I placed it under her Head. I remember going to the unit late because we had to walk so far from where we parked in the structure only to come through the lobby to find that lady in labor. I can remember before working there. I remember having my daughter there on nineth and Colorado on March 21 1984. I remember that they let me stay with her until she could go home. Yet the employees now are different now.. which was traumatic. All lcan say is back in the day they saved my babies life. I worked there a long time afterwards. I worked there for a second time again recently and found it had changed not like I remembered people were friendly some older and bitter not welcoming. Others were not nice folks. I respect them. But the environment was not for me.

Kristen Salas-Manners

A complete nightmare . I am a local guide and feel that the Public has the right to know that they do not abide by the laws of State of Colorado when it comes to HIPPA. I requested my medical records months and months ago, filled out all of the necessary and legal paperwork to have those records sent to me. They then sent me a letter saying my request had been delayed without a reason, and still no records. Again, this was months ago. I already know the reason, it is because they don't want the records to go out because one of their physicians had me blacklisted from the entire Hospital, refused treatment and I ended up having to have 2 blood patches at another Hospital as a result of this negligence.. A pretty good reason I guess for them, but not a good reason in the eyes of the Law... You are not allowed to keep Medical Records from a Patient... It is your Right to obtain copies of them .

Trace P.

These individuals would systematically reschedule my appointments with my seizure specialists informing me that my doctor is out of town or on vacation. Blatantly ignoring I've been out of medication for several months. These people should be liable for the severe danger I've been put in because I cannot get access to the medication to keep my seizures under control. This has happened almost five times now, and it's a pattern. The Doctor I am suppose to see was my seizure specialist with another insurance provider and I know she would not outright take "vacations" when she has people to see. I have a very well established rapport with her and I know she would never endanger a patient's health like this.

Rose Archuleta

Was in awhile ago. One of your nurses smelled like alcohol. Her name was Julia Porter I believe. Not very professional

Puros Vergasos

Horrible experience I don’t recommend this hospital for labor because , when they have to make a decision they don’t take it and when you need to tell them what to do aren’t they supposed to be professionals? They lie saying “everything is normal” “everything is okay” but things return out bad , they lie a lot, they get your hopes up for no reason , i recommend somewhere else if you are giving labor and also don’t trust a doctor that has glasses and dark red hair all she does is lie about things are going good when they aren’t. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU WANT YOUR BABY TO HE OKAY RIGHT AWAY

Mathew Maldonado

They save my life

Vanessa Ortega

I used to like this hospital, but they have let my family down and my mom down there putting my mom up for a death sentence. They are not giving us answers to any of our questions!

Best place. Fast. Effective. Awesome

Emily Bonfoey

Amazing staff, and facilities. One complaint is keep up on bathroom cleaning. They can get kinda nasty.

olmer marquez

The billing department sucks, I got a phone call that I owe a bill. Turns out they sent 2 statements to the wrong adress. I gave them my correct adress again and it's been 3 weeks and haven't got the bill yet, now I'm getting sent to collection. Unbelievable. The doctor's and staff are nice though.

Sean

Like other people have mentioned on here, unprofessional and not at all compassionate staff. Treat you like desperate people begging for their help, not at all once I felt like a patient. Please ignore this hospital at all cost ! That will save you time and money

Robert Ruibal

I took a family member there for a routine procedure, and it was like a maze and people were walking around everywhere.? It was Total Caos.! There were so many people they were tripling up the VIP Parking in the middle of the road because there was no room? If you don't like walking or can't walk well this place is not for you!! This place is a money making machine it is always busy and takes all people? The Doctor's Seem pretty competent? And the staff is pretty nice ! The place is well noticeable and easy to get to and very very big! I would suggest making your appointment months in advance..!

I fell and broke my hip at the beginning if August. The ambulance took me to University because it was the closest. The ER doctor gave me Tylenol, even though I explained that I had fallen, could not move or bear weight on my left leg, and was in a great deal of pain. I was treated like a drug seeker. The staff wanted to cut my scrub pants off, rather than help me get them off. I had surgery the following morning, and despite my explanations, repeated explanations, of my adverse reaction to general anesthesia, Dr. Gorman insisted that there was no other option. The PACU staff didn't like me crying and screaming when I was getting lidocaine injections in my post-op leg. One of the ortho residents stated that he was going to give me some Fentanyl. I'm allergic to Fentanyl, as stated in my chart. Does the staff ever read the patient charts? That evening I requested to be assisted to the couch in my room. I was told that I couldn't sit on the couch, because it didn't have an alarm. Both the bed and the chair in the room had alarms, and my walker was kept across the room where I could not reach it. I was told that this is all "hospital policy." Each if those items is a restraint. Wht are restraints being used in people who are alert and oriented? It's a violation if patient rights. The following morning, Dr. Gorman and her residents came in. She told me, condescendingly, that physical therapy would try getting me up that day, even if it was just to the chair. I had been up to the chair the previous evening. She also told me that it would be arranged for me to go to a rehab facility. I told her that wasn't happening. That subject was broached again, when I was due ti be discharged. Everyone on my case had failed to get their notes in until late in the day. Medical supplies could not be arranged, and I was given the option of staying another night, or going to a rehab facility. My daughter went out and got the necessary equipment. I was also chadtused by an ortho resident for refusing to take Lovenox injections. He informed that I would get a PE, and die. Clearly, he was mistaken. If only this story ended with that. It doesn't. At my second follow up appointment, I was turned away by the ortho clinic because my former employer had not only terminated me, they had canceled my insurance. I was given the option if paying a $500 cash deposit, but being unemployed, that wasn't possible. Thankfully, I have been having a relatively uneventful recovery. It would have been nice to know that my follow up visits were not included in the original surgical costs. This is the only provider that I have encountered this problem with. UCH needs to look at the fact that not everyone is on Medicaid or Medicare, and not every patient with a broken hip is suffering from dementia. Also, when a patient lists allergies and adverse reactions to medications and anesthesia, they should be listened to. I cannot recommend this facility as being a safe and caring place to receive medical treatment.

Jordan Christensen

My mother was brought into the ER this past weekend when she fell and fractured her femur. She had major orthopedic surgery the next day, recovered on the post-op floor for a week, and was discharged today to a rehab facility. We cannot thank the staff here enough for all that they did. From the doctors and nurses in the ER and on the floor, the surgeons, CNA’s, technicians, house keepers, and everyone else that assisted with her care - THANK YOU! This is our second (and hopefully last) trip to the ER / Hospital admission at UCH, and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff both times. My family members have been seen here and have only the highest praise to give the staff. My uncle recovered fully after a brain aneurysm requiring a craniotomy and they still continue to follow up making sure all is well. The facilities are beautiful, the equipment is top-notch, and the staff is exceptional. We were kept in the loop during every procedure and everything happened in a timely manner. I am a long-time employee of another major hospital / trauma center in the metro area and I can’t say enough about how impressive the care and experience is HERE. The staff here represents the hospital so well and I will always recommend UCH for the best care. Thank you all again so much.

I am very unhappy with the inpatient process. I pay a good amount for my insurance each month, and the service I receive is sub par. I have been with this hospital for over 10 years and the changes for inpatient services are just not what they use to be. You have to pay a co-pay just for doctors to take one look at you and refer you somewhere else. They don't touch you, don't order any tests. You could save my money and give me a referral questionnaire, refer me through email, or on the phone. Once you are referred to a specialist it can take MONTHS before you are able to get in for a consultation, let alone any treatment or additional tests which take more time. Having a job and trying to take time off for all of these little visits is a nightmare, and if you have anything aggressive or life threatening , good luck trying not to die in the time that you are waiting to see a specialist. The patient care standard here is very low, especially for customers who pay insurance specifically for this hospital. I use to refer people to this hospital for their services, now I tell them to go with other options. There needs to be a board or someone on this issue quickly because it is a huge liability. If paying patients are waiting more than a month for care that is a problem. This should be a simple standard of care, and customer service .

David Holley

This is an amazing facility. Everyone I've dealt with has been extremely competent and helpful. I received the gift of life with a new heart here. As a result of my heart failure I have spent a fair amount of time in other hospitals. None fully compare to UCHEALTH. Obviously I still work with them today and I think the world of the staff in every department I've worked with.

Went into the emergency the other day with my dad his wrist was very swollen and he was in a lot of pain. We got treated very bad. When we first went in the lady at the front had a bad attitude when asking us questions. Then when we went into our room got told two different things. The doctor said that he had liquid in his wrist and that they would have to take it out but ended up just leaving it in then said she would schedule an MRI for the next day and left the room. A nurse then came in and said there was nothing wrong and then let us leave. We asked about the MRI and he said we would have to go to our primary care doctor if the pain continued. It’s been a couple days and his wrist is still the same. The doctor just prescribed ibuprofen and discharged us. Then the person at the discharge desk also had a bad attitude. Wasted $400, left with ibuprofen and didn’t get the help we were looking for. Felt uncomfortable and discriminated. Staff is very rude.

Jordan Valdez

Staff was so helpful

Tameka Austin

If I could give them no stars I would, I have been coming here for years and the staff have only gotten worst. They are racist against black women and do not give adequate service. The doctor did nothing, talked over me after asking me a question and asked me a few times if I smoked after I told her "No" twice. This was very unprofessional and upsetting, she was very demeaning in her tone and very dismissive when I told her how I was feeling. After being in the room with me less than 5 minutes she stated that she just thinks I have a viral cold and basically I could go about my day. When I explained to the second nurse that I dont feel that I was properly treated she stated that they dont want to perform unnecessary test as everyone has to pay into Medicaid and I explained to her that I dont judge people for the services they need weather they have Medicaid or not. Very rude and dismissive. I will never be back.

Courtney Wood

Worst experience probably ever. I have been scheduled for surgery for an entire month and they couldn't even tell me what time it was until the day of, "once the day rolled out and they saw how it went." They didn't even call me to let me know. I had to call them and get transferred 20 times. Unbelievable how poorly managed this place is. Clearly they do not value their patients' time, even after the thousands of dollars I am paying them for this procedure.

Brenda Roman-Moreno

They can be more professional as to giving directions and building information took me an hour to find the right building, in the first place who makes the appointments gave wrong address and had to reschedule appointment. They can do better for how many people had the same issue when I spoke to other patients in the elevator and around the building.

Brie Groves

We had to go in for an ER visit to UCHealth (hemorrhaging while pregnant). Waited for 6 1/2 hours (20 minutes in an actual room), all for the doctor to stick his head in the door and tell us to we “were good to go”. We got billed $7,200 dollars for this. We didn’t even get a doctors consult, medication or report of what was wrong. Then, because they were wrong, I ended up back in the ER a week later — this time we went to a different ER where a radiologist and OBGYN looked at me, the doctor sat with us — explaining everything and we were in and out in 2 hours. The bill was $2,000 with much better treatment. I called UC for an itemized bill, then tried to fight the level of billing and inadequate coding. They rejected all of our appeals to the bill. The patient reps and billing department were rude and threatening. I don’t know where else to turn— but this is a story I’ve heard too many times with UCHealth.

Mani Cadey

2 months ago i have had a serious surgery in my lung and my stomach. Without the surgeon team i don't think i would have made it. They made sure not to discharge me until i was ready. The days i was there i had the best care! Everyone that worked there was so sweet and kind! They cared about their patient a lot. The staff took excellent care of me. So thank you so much for your patience, professionalism, hard work and taking good care of me because of your excellent team I am doing very well.

Andrea Mahaffey

If I could give negative stars I would. I fractured a spine and had to be in a UC Health hospital for 8 days. The care I received was fine while in hospital, all the staff were kind and caring. But when it came to billing I might as well smashed my head against a brick wall. I tried to pay my bills early to avoid lat payment and to pay what a could when I could (it was not an inexpensive treatment). First it took 3 months for them to even register that I was a patient in the past then when I tried to get my bills they couldn't give them to me. I had to harass them on a weekly basis to finally be able to pay. Then, they send bills out piecemeal with no apparent rhyme or reason. Most recently I receive a bill for almost another thousand dollars for visits that I had last July that I have already paid for! When I call half the time they can find my account half the time they can't and I have to wait on the phone for 5 minutes before anyone even can tell what is happening. Then they quote the wrong bill and finally someone will tell me what I owe. This has been a nightmare of a process. Organizations like UC health are the reason people go broke due to medical bills. What an aweful, uncaring institution that is only out for financial gain and not medical care and the patience they allegedly serve. If there were any other options in my town I would go elsewhere.

Gabriela Gurrola

Trash employees, the lady asking for patient chief complaints is so rude. Sorry you have to work on a Saturday night .

Todd Bellinger

If you got to go to the hospital this is the only one to get it right. Good food

Jennifer Patterson

Why did the Billing Department harass me for the balance after Preventative Care Medicine? You are a Preferred Provider with FEPBCBS, having a contract between the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and UCHealth! 3D mammograms are covered just like Colorado University employees get with their coverage! Do you harass your own employees and their family members when there is a contract dispute on coverage? Maybe it's time to search for another Primary Care Physician out of the UCHealth System. SHAME. SHAME. SHAME. SHAME

Maria Barrera

I would give this hospital a negative star if I could. Since my dad has been in the ER do to a car accident since 3/15 this nurses and doctors dont know anything. They are very bad communicating with family members and dont answer any questions you may have. The answer to everything is idk or not sure. Today was my dads surgery.. schedule by them..he went in at 2pm and was done by 6pm. It's now 9:30 PM and they are still trying to clean a recovery room. The nurses say they will keep us posted but not once have they came in to the waiting room to talk to us. I have taken video and pic of all this process and cant wait to talk to a lawyer about this. Feel like this hospital does not care about any patients. Oh one more thing they dont have enough pillows or blankets so if you do come visit them please bring your own as I gave up asking on day 4 and just bought some. I do feel they are very racist as well. Please dont waste your time and go somewhere else.

*edit update. Shannons new last name is Hester. The Dept Head that justified this illegal representation is Brian Rothberg. Be aware It has been some months now that I left the "care" of UCH. I went there for most of my medical needs which were poorly treated. But the worst experience of them all was having to recover from the unethical mental health department. I was told by Shannon Richardson that she was a qualified EMDR therapist. I am still trying to figure out how to report her to the state. After some months of the worst mental health care I've ever received - she admitted to me that this was in fact a lie. She had never had a single "Class" on EMDR therapy. She said she would be taking a "class" on it in the near future. I gave her another chance and stayed. We had the same detrimental sessions over and over. She was instilling my trauma. Repeatedly. At our last appointment she shouted at me that I - "Wasn't ready for any kind of EMDR therapy". How on earth would she know? I contacted the head of this department and he acted like this is an every day occurrence there, and what do I expect him to do? He asked me more than once - what did I want him to do. Unethical, dishonest, detrimental care. Shannon got angry when I told her that what we were doing wasn't helpful. After she asked me if it was helpful. Not long after this happened to me, someone else told me that other mental health personnel were lying about their credentials. Its taken quite a while to recover from what Shannon Richardson and UCH put me through. I am getting good HONEST, CARING help. I hope this review will help someone else to be aware of their practices.

They have always taken good care of me here. It’s clean. The staff is friendly, and they’re quick to get your care started.

Randy Malloy

My son had brain surgery for a cancerous tumor. The nursing staff and doctors were very professional. Dr. Ormond did an excellent job in a very long surgery. Nurses Lindsay and Vicki showed their concern and compassion for my son, his wife and myself as we all struggled through this difficult time. I’m amazed at how much they cared. I’m from SC and I wish I had this type of compassionate professionals in my area. Thanks again Dr. Ormond, Lindsay and Vicki, you guys are AWESOME.

Robert McLeod

Parking is distant from the entrance. Once inside there is much walking to reach destination. Wonderfully modern. Staff is courteous and efficient. The intersection in front of the building needs to have some traffic controls installed, very congested!

Less than 1 Star! When my Daughter & I started going to UCHealth it was touted as being the best Colorado had to offer, however they "teamed up" with the worst Hospital in Colorado, Parkview from Pueblo! Suddenly they "lost" my records from Growth on my Thyroid, denied me proper follow-up care (No MRI) after being brutally assaulted in Pueblo & taken by ambulance to Parkview & denied any care despite not even being able to walk! Had to go to C Springs for an MRI which revealed several Fractures from being thrown down so hard by a man from Texas! UC Health is not a good place to go any longer, seek Not For Profit Hospitals because Parkview drug UC Health into the dirt but they went willing!!

If I could give negative stars I would. I have never had a primary care physician nor insurance. Upon receiving insurance through my job I was advised to get a PCP because it is covered by my insurance. After seeing this doctor for 20 minutes I walked out with a Rx for Heartburn medication. One month later I receive a bill for 90$ because that is the remainder after insurance. I paid it. 1 month later I receive a bill for 241$ for "using the facilities." I called and they are saying I owe that money for sitting in the room with the doctor who I have already paid. This is robbery and is apparently in the fine print of this facilities terms and conditions. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED!!!

Neville Sarkari

Very Bad in scheduling, do not care about Patients time. You have to be on top of them to get anything done right. Then watch your insurance invoicing, they bill your insurance for cancel appointment, even when it is due their poor communication coordination of Scheduling.

Don Yeagley

Well I've had the best care from my orthopaedic & my urologist. Had a 1 in 3 chances of survival & 50/50 on saving my right leg. I've got all my limbs & walking 3 yrs ahead of schedule.

Olny can say good things. Good staff fast effective care. The cafeteria is wonderful.

Veselka Minkova

If I could give negative stars, I would. I came into the outpatient pavilion with a referral from a local hospital in the High Rockies. They simply don`t have the resources to treat my condition. I waited WEEKS to get an appointment at the ENT and only after an inquiry I got it. My husband and I traveled to Denver, went through the examination and the doctor seemed very professional. However, after I left the hospital my nightmares began. The imaging they "ordered" was sent to the wrong hospital, an error that postponed it a week. After that, the way the ordered it made my insurance company deny it because they didn`t provide the necessary documentation. Again, an issue I had to deal with myself with multiple calls. Long story short, it`s been a week after this MRI and I still haven`t received results. Called them 3 times and the very unprofessional staff have been snapping at me telling me "they can`t do anything" to ease my pain or frustration from a possible tumor in the head. During the same call the doctor was in with patients, then wasn`t there, finally she magically appeared back but "is very busy". How is this possible? Are we all just freaking cattle to you? Not even once I was treated like a patient from your staff
