Sadly this is the worst experience I have had with a doctor's office. The appointment was quick, but the staff was inexperienced. It took their billing department 2 months to send me the bill (a 5 minute exercise) after insurance adjusted the claim, and I have been double billed on a biopsy (which has never been corrected). Their office is also open only 2 days a week.

My most recent visit With Summit Dermatology and its excellent staff was nothing short of life-saving. After spending a couple of weeks being bedridden and in terrible pain and discomfort, I wound up in the emergency room. The emergency room doctors and nurses were baffled by my condition and did everything they could to alleviate some of my pain, but in the end they had no answers. All they could do was request an appointment with the doctors at Summit Dermatology. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Dr. Johnson set an immediate appointment for me that very afternoon. Having never met dr. Johnson before, I was immediately impressed by his professionalism and patient rapport. Within moments, Dr. Johnson had precisely diagnosed my problem, gave me immediate relief for the short-term, and set a long-term plan in place for me. After having been a patient of Dr. Whaley for almost two decades, I find that Doctor Johnson is a perfect fit for Summit Dermatology. He has the same caring manner that Dr. Whaley always displayed which means so much to a patient who is in distress, scared and in pain. I wanted to compliment Physician Assistant Tara Burton with Summit Dermatology as she has made my visits to Summit Dermatology very positive. Unfortunately, many of my experiences as a patient over the last six years with numerous doctors has not been very positive. I feel that some doctors and health care professionals lack decent "bedside" manner often making you feel that they don't really care. No one likes to be sick but I think it is so important as a patient to feel respected and cared for just a "little" . Sometimes it is forgotten that patients are humans and not automobiles in for a tune-up. So I think it is very important to recognize my positive experiences in the healthcare field when I have them and that is why I would like to compliment and recommend Physician Assistant Tara Burton, staff, and Summit Dermatology. In addition, a patients first experience with a doctor's office is often on the phone or with their staff in the lobby. I have been a patient with Summit Dermatology for close to 7 years. I decided to see Dr.Johnson for my Accutane treatment. I had tried all possible avenues for my acne and was nervous about going on Accutane. He was very kind and understanding with all of my concerns and was great and answering any questions I had. I just finished a 9 month treatment and couldn’t be happier. I really felt like he took the time to listen during each visit, never felt rushed or felt like I was asking silly questions. I highly recommend him as a doctor! The whole staff is great!

Wonderful experience from the staff up front, to the nurse taking me back, and of course, Dr. Whaley who was very kind and informative. Thanksgiving week last year, I woke up with a massive facial rash with so much swelling that I was barely recognizable. I called numerous dermatologists in the area in a panic and I got declined by everyone except for this very nice office. When I showed up, I was seen by Dr Whaley, his male resident and Martina. Not only were they professional and knowledgeable, they were also compassionate and reinsuring. I was placed on medications right away and I returned to normal within a few days. I could not be more thankful for such great service and would recommend this office to anyone in need of a dermatologist.

I had an urgent skin rash on the face and summit dermatology was the only office in town that was able to get me in the next day. Everywhere else said they were booked out at least 1 month which was not helpful for me. I saw dr. Andrew Johnson. He was amazing-listened to my concerns and gave me a prognosis that worked. He was genuinely interested in helping me and finding a solution for my skin problem. He was extremely attentive and understanding. I highly recommend him!!

Loved this office. Ran like clockwork. I had an appointment at 830, I was out by 9. Dr. Johnson was very professional and knowledgeable! I am impressed and would recommend him and his assistant to anyone.

I am giving the office 2 stars just for the fact that phone calls are NEVER returned or returned a week after you call. I called yesterday and left a message with the front desk girl. I was told someone would call me back the next day by the afternoon. At 3:30 I still had not received a call back. I called the office and left a message on the answering machine explaining what i was told the day before. as of 5:00 still no phone call. I referred a friend to this office and it took them a WEEK to call her back. Not exactly the way to get or maintain patients. I felt bad referring her. I REALLY like the PA that we have seen and the nurses are very helpful. The lack of promptness leaves a lot to be desired.

So, I can't lie... I'm married to Dr. Whaley. So, of course I'm biased. :) However, he really is a great doc, and a good person. He cares about his patients and what they are struggling with. He keeps current with dermatology research and offers his patients the most effective treatments. I really do think you'll be happy with your treatment at Summit Dermatology. When our patients need something, they come back to us. And, they send their friends and family members as well. You can't get a better recommendation than that.

This is not the dermatologist you are looking for if you like not waiting, getting what you pay for, and correct billing. My appointment was apparently happening at the same time as 3 other people. The doctor asked if I had areas of concern which he then quickly checked and said I needed a biopsy. He wasn't going to do a full check until I pushed it. He walked out I'm guessing long enough for him to barely check another patient, came back for a 2 second biopsy, and he was out again. He sent my insurance company a $400 bill for the 5 minutes as 2 appts. Go anywhere else, your wallet and health will thank you.

I called on Tuesday for my initial appt with Dr. Johnson expecting to wait a few weeks. They were able to get me in within 2 days for a 7am appt (how rare is that!!). I was concerned because I have numerous skin issues and didnt think I would be able to address them all. However, Dr Johnson took the time to listen to my concerns and explain, in detail, treatment options. I did not feel rushed at all and I felt it was a very thorough appt. I highly recommend Summit Dermatology!!
