Scheduled at Colorado Springs Dermatology main office, seeking my sons second opinion regarding his severe dermatologic condition. He was scheduled and seen within one week. We arrived for our appointment twenty minutes prior as instructed and he was seen on time. Our Provider Dr.Babcock and the MA thoroughly listened to the symptoms and through collective information the provider was able to assign a primary diagnosis for his condition which included sending a guidance referral to a pediatric dermatologist to identify the sub category of the primary diagnosis. The provider took corrective and immediate action implementing a targeted treatment plan in order to track progress. Most importantly Dr. Babcock I’m listened thoroughly and intently to family history and wanted to treat and make this better for my son. This was a condition he had never seen and had astonished him. In recent drastic comparison We initially seen Dr. Emily Reynolds at vanguard skin specialists. With her incompetent findings she completely misdiagnosed his condition by an entirely different dermatologic skin disorder. Dr. Emily Reynolds and her assistant’s mannerism was horrid in comparison (as reviewed in detail on vanguards google/yelp pages). Above all else I could not recommend nor refer patients to Dr. Emily Reynolds at all. So awful in fact wrote I certified a U.S. postal letter detailing management with the encounter. Colorado Springs dermatology and staff absolutely takes the prize for quality and analytical patient care.

I would like to express my displeasure with their dermatology. Expect to wait at least a month or more for an appointment. Expect to wait in the lobby for an hour or more past your scheduled appointment time. And expect to receive hurried patient care,where they spend all of five minutes with you. They act rude, and their overall patient care, seems careless. Service was incomplete, however can expect to be fully 100% charged regardless if you are unsatisfied with their service. I would advise to go to another dermatologist.

I have been a patient at this clinic for many years and have seen several doctors and nurses there. I had skin cancer on my upper lip and had surgery for that there as well as other skin conditions which have required surgery and medical treatment . I have had cosmetic procedures as well particularly to revise and correct facial scars. I can say that in every case I have been treated with unbelievable care compassion and amazing skill. I also find the entire staff is not only extremely efficient but caring as well. Quite honestly of all the businesses I have been involved with in Colorado Springs I would have to say this has overall been consistently the best. I would recommend this clinic for all dermatological needs and wish to thank each and every person at Colorado Springs Dermatology.

Rude staff Dr Turner was not friendly, seemed irritated and cut me off mid-sentence when I tried to ask questions about my child. They also didn't offer me any discount for not having insurance and the procedure didn't even work. Will not be returning.

I was nervous about starting over with a new doctor but I could not be more pleased with Dr. McClanahan. She is thorough, patient, and reassuring. She is also comfortable with technology. She uses an iPad to photograph me, which gives us a reliable reference every time I come in. I will continue seeing her with no reservations.

Let me first speak about myself I am a teacher, military spouse and a well rounded individual I have lived all over the country and have experience dealing with people from all walks of life. I was disappointed in the visit at this office. This office is not kid friendly in the least! There are no TVs, no toys, no crayons, nothing to accommodate young minds. We arrived 15 minutes before our appointment time and didn’t go back for exactly and hour I have 3 children under the age of 7 and it was a long 60 minutes. We were asked to sit down and be quiet as someone complained my kids were being kids and the receptionist with the very short dark hair was completely rude she made several rounds by us and glared. I felt completely unwelcomed. Not mention there isn’t a changing table in the bathroom for dirty nappies. I could live with waiting and hour if the staff was warm and friendly but this is not the case I will NEVER return and take my children elsewhere for their care.

I have been going here for the last 8 years now off and on for my acne. I have seen both Dr. Trookman and Dr. Sperber. Both Doctors are great, though I transferred my care to Dr. Sperber in June due to continuing scheduling conflicts with Dr. Trookman with my work. The only "issue" I have is the long wait times for appointments. I can usually expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes in the waiting room and then another 10-15 until I actually see my Doctor. But, at least I am aware and can plan accordingly. Dr. Sperber is fantastic, always very upbeat and personable!

I saw Dr McClanahan had I'm truly not sure what happened. She came in took a quick look and I mean quick look at me instead of letting me tell her what and where my sores are. She stated that it was my thyroid that is causing the sores with no explanation as to how just as if it was a fact then proceeded to write down what I needed to get over the counter on a piece of paper and to pick up the perception. Then told me that I had athletic foot because of some dryness on my heels and that if it didn't itch it must be my neuropathy. I've been to several different doctors over my 52 year's including a podiatrist and never has anyone else ever tell me that. They don't itch smell or burn . Then I found out that she has people schedule for every 10 minutes and that only 2 doctors there have 20 minute appointments. She wasn't even in there for 10 minutes the first time so when I told the nurse that I was confused and not sure what just happened she had her come back in. When she did she came in quickly with the body language of ok let's get this over with and said you have a question. I asked about what she told me and she said yes that's what you have again no explanation of anything just this is what you have. I was stunned and tongue tied so I was trying to figure out how to ask the questions in a way that I might get and explanation of some kind when she said if no further questions then she left. Again the nurse came in and I was telling her what just happened and again she told me she would get her back in here it was the same thing I tried to tell her when my sores started and when they started to because a regular thing also my hypothyroid was just discovered within the last 2 years. The sores started in my 20s off and on then became more regular 10 years ago long before my thyroid was an issues. I've seen other dermatologist in the past for the same thing and never have I had this experience all the others weren't sure what the cause of the sores were and they asked me questions then they tried different treatments and every one of them took longer than Dr. McClanahan. I went to her because my Rheumatology doctor wanted me to see a dermatologist to help pinpoint which one of the Autoimmun Diseases that my sores were associated with. When I tried to explain this to her on the third trip in she said she wouldn't know that I would need to see a Rheumatologist to find that out then just repeated her statement of what I had and said if that would be all then left. The nurse when I came out from getting dressed ask if my questions were answered I said no she said she would have her come back again I told her it wouldn't do any good. I spoke more with the nurse and the front desk staff then I did with the doctor and found out more from them. If a doctor's office sees 250 or more people in 1 day regardless of there being several doctors in the office it makes you wonder if they are more concerned about your problem and how to treat it and taking the time to explain it to you how they came to that conclusion and the best course of treatment for you, or are they're more concern about how many people they can see in one day and that talking is overrated. I changed my follow-up to another doctor there but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the clinic or if I should just go to a doctor's office that has the time to talk to me and listen to my questions and will explain things in a manner that make sense and is understandable.

Dr Babcock is the best! He's friendly, careful when examining and treating me and is very personable. He explains treatment options clearly (with pro's and cons) and doesn't rush through the appointment. All the nurses there work so hard to keep the day running smooth.....it's not all smoke and mirrors, they make it happen! Thank you CSD!!!

Just called my first time to schedule an appointment. And spoke to an older woman. I asked if their doctor specialized with patients with acne and she told me every doctor does. She also told me I had to get a referral from my previous doctor or I couldn't schedule an appointment. This woman was so rude over the phone that I decided to go elsewhere.

I was 31 years old and asked Dr. Sperber to do a quick body scan after he was taking care of some cosmetic stuff on my face. He noticed a freckle on my left knee area that he decided to biopsy. It was melanoma. I NEVER would have guessed it was that serious. I never sit in the sun, and I’m obsessively covered - have been my whole life. Yet there it was, and Dr. Sperber caught it in time. I’m forever grateful. He is also my FAVORITE doctor. Seriously personable and sweet. He has fantastic people around him, and I just love Jules. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ SIX stars for these folks. I won’t go anywhere else. I read below people having trouble with the front staff and scheduling. In the 8 years I’ve been coming to this office (2-3 times a year), I have NEVER had these experiences. No scheduling issues, and no rude behavior. Later in the day, you can experience delays, but that’s because the doctors squeeze in emergency cases. It’s VERY appreciated - especially when dealing with life-threatening issues.

If you use this clinic and ever have to have tests done make sure to get a written estimate and an exact list of the test to be done. Similar to what you would do with a sketchy mechanic so you do not receive a surprise bill with tons of extra charges. I went here for routine dermatology screen. They said it needed to be checked for cancer. This is not uncommon for me. I've had it done numerous times an usually get a bill of about $150-200. I went in for a routine check had a place tested and received a bill for $3000. 3000 dollars to run excessive tests on a freckle. Good luck if you go there.you should be able to trust a doctors office more than a sketchy mechanic.

He had ideas and treatments that the other 3 did not despite seeing some of them more than 7 times. I wish I hadn't wasted so much time before getting a diagnosis and treatment. From the front desk staff to the technician, I’ve seldom seen such a friendly staff. Then the care by Dr. McClanahan was superb. Her empathy for the condition I came in for was heartwarming. Not only did she take care of the condition I came in for, she also noticed some spots that warranted biopsies! They all took the time to educate me and never felt they were rushing. They asked me several times if I had any more questions about my skin. I feel lucky I ended up there. Would highly recommend this office and Dr. McClanahan in particular.

I would say by the conversation I had, I will give them another shot. They apologized about all the miscommunication that happened and asked for ideas on inclusivity for all patients. I really appreciate the time they took to call!! I saw Dr. Marcus today and it was a pleasure (she also came in on her day off to make sure I was taken care of). She took the time to explain everything and the visit from start to finish was great.

I chose this practice for my yearly skin check and some issues I've been having with my scalp. I was excited due to all the positive reviews. Well, my experience with Dr. Mentz was a huge let down. First of all, when she entered the room I could tell she wasn't in a 'pleasant mood.' My skin check lasted perhaps a total of 60 seconds, even though I have a history of atypical nevi (moles) all over my body. She didn't look on the underside of my arms, my feet, etc, all of which I've experienced on more thorough skin checks I've received in the past. As she looked me over, it seemed like I was receiving orders-sit down, face me, stand up! Then I was told brusquely 'your scalp is sun damaged, wear a hat! Mind you I'm 36, so this came as quite a shock to me. I received no further explanation, like how bad it was, what could happen in the future, any thing else I could do besides wear a hat, etc. During my skin check she barked 'you're covered in bruises,' to which I replied that I had a blood disorder which is the cause. Silence. Maybe 30 seconds later she stated 'seems to be a high incidence of that in Colorado' not 'oh I'm sorry' or 'hey didn't mean to insinuate that you're a victim of abuse. You actually have a blood disorder that can be life threatening at times.' Anyway after my 60 second skin check (as a new patient) she was practically running out the door when I said 'what about my scalp?' She said 'oh yeah' and came back over. She quickly said there was an over the counter option or a prescription, 'which do you want?' No explanation of which was more effective or recommended. After my appointment I left upset and a little sad about what I was told about my sun damaged scalp. I plan on making a follow up at a different dermatologist where I might receive more compassionate treatment and helpful medical advice. My purpose for this review is that I'm fed up with doctors that think they can get away with treating patients poorly. In my profession, as an educator, if I treated my students or their parents poorly I would lose my job. Why is the standard any different for medical 'professionals'? Perhaps other doctors in this practice are more professional, but I would not recommend Dr. Mentz.

I have Cigna OAP, and they recommended Colorado Springs Dermatology Clinic to me because they were in my network. I made an appointment in early November, and was scheduled for November 29th. A week before, they called me and had to reschedule my appointment. It was rescheduled for today, December 6th. A minor inconvenience, but not a big deal. I saw Dr. Ruggles, who was not the original doctor that I was supposed to see, but should still be in my network (I will find out when they bill my insurance). I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment, paid my $20 copay, and was seen within a few minutes. Dr. Ruggles was very nice and thorough. Although I only went in for a new skin growth on my face, he checked my back, chest, arms, and stomach because he wanted to be thourough. He examined my new growth, explained what it was, and told me that it was benign and best not to treat because the scar would be worse than the small growth. I did not feel rushed during my time with him or the nurse, and he listened to all of my questions and concerns. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes! I will be returning for my next skin check.

However, today was a great visit with Dr. Turner and his assistant Lorraine. They were so informative, respectful and just amazing and able to help us to figure out what he needs to do to get better. Julie and Mary in the Laser Center are incredibly knowledgeable and competent. Customer satisfaction is obviously a top priority. Went to see Dr turner, the guy was awesome very professional and forefront. I came in for a cyst on my bottom, and he never made me feel uncomfortable about it at all. Unfortunately because of the way it is, they had to refer me to a general surgeon. Instead of just taking my money. Also another doctor came in to give us a second opinion which doesn't happen that often but was much appreciated. I also had a wart on toe, which he froze for me. Also I had skin tags in multiple spots the numbed me up, and took care of all of them. They waived some of their fees because I'm self pay which I really appreciated the amount of care, and personal courtesy.

My experience today was like no other. My son (5) was a new patient so we arrived early like asked to hand in my paper work that I did beforehand. Let remember, my 5 year old is SCARED. I had to give him a 10 pep talk before walking in, I had to almost damn near drag him into the office. We sat down to wait and ended up waiting in the waiting room for well over 40 minutes before going back. In that time my son found a couple of other kids to play with. Good! Kids using their imagination and not on screens, good deal right? Not in this office, where they don't have a single thing to entertain a child, not even a tv with stupid ADs... A lady came from the back to tell us there was a complaint on my child, who was just bored and scared and FIVE!! To the lady that told my kid to settle down and basically not be the child he is, screw you. I had to explain to my that he was in fact NOT A BAD KID but you were just a bad adult. When I got to the back to the room, my medical assistant and doctor were just fine and treated my terrified 5 year old just fine.

Great Experience. From check in to exam to check out everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and fast. Dr Babcock and Andrea were absolutely terrific. Andrea was just great to work with in going through both the initial assessment process and in her efficient support of the overall visit. This was an overall check up with a couple of primary skin issues and the Dr Babcock was absolutely thorough, highly personable, humorous and caring in explained everything clearly. I have to go back for a follow up in couple months and I must say I look forward to my return visit. One does not usually say that about going to the doctor, so I offer that as a full endorsement of the clinic and huge thank with my highest compliments.

Dr. Trookman is fantastic. Both of my kids like him a lot. His treatments have worked well. That being said, the wait times after your scheduled appointments are unacceptable. They want us here 15 minutes BEFOREHAND our scheduled time, and it is not uncommon to wait 30 minutes or more after the scheduled time.

This review is for their Scheduling. I just tried to call now at 4:52 pm and someone picked up the phone, made some bird noises then hung up. I tried again and again and they kept declining the call. Obviously the phone was not busy but they didn’t want to pick up. I work in customer service so I know you’re supposed to answer the phone until the last moment of your schedule which in this case is 5:00 pm. So unprofessional!

Dr. Sperber and his nurses made the whole experience of removing basal cell carcinoma from my arm as painless and easy as possible. I was out of the office in 45 minutes, with 4" of stitches and a big bandage. Easy and painless.

I can definitely vouch for Dr.Sperber and his medical expertise with skin issues , however the customer service is lacking !!! I spoke to a scheduler up front on Friday the 20th of July 2018. I needed to see someone for a very serious skin issue I was dealing with. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I even exclaimed "wow" over the phone and she continued with her attitude with no apology after that. I refuse to go here now because of the scheduling staff. She even scheduled me for the incorrect date . I found out by speaking with another rude scheduler today . I work in the Healthcare field and could not imagine treating people with such rudeness.

I went to this location three times and didn't revive the level of professionalism that I would've expected from a doctors office. Both my Derms weren't willing to prescribe me a certain medication that has been known to work in the past (from other Derm offices) and they wanted me to try-out other routines "before" prescribing my proven one. Honestly, I wasted three months trying it their way to only produce no positive results. It's almost like their afraid of prescribing stronger medications?

The front office staff was welcoming. The office itself is decorated nicely and appears clean. On those two points I would give them five stars. It was downhill from there. Dr. McClanahan breezed in with a cannister in her hand. I pointed out a few spots that I had questions about. She briefly dismissed the majority of the spots. Then she said that I have some pre-cancerous spots on my face. She then sprayed the spots with her cannister. She did not explain the prognosis of the pre-cancerous spots, nor did she tell me what to expect in the near and long term. She did leave a pink piece of paper that explained what she had sprayed on my face. It is a good thing that I am literate, otherwise I would not have had any idea what was going on. When I go to a doctor's office I do not expect to become friends with them. After my visit with Dr McClanahan, I was frustrated and very dissatisfied. I felt rushed and was not given any information to be able to make an informed decision. Perhaps other doctors in this practice treat patients with more regard than Dr McClanahan did with me. ** It has been over two weeks since the office manager of this practice asked me to call her. I called the very next day and left a message. I have not heard from her or anyone else from the clinic. Perhaps the office manager believes that by merely posting a request to call her it appears as if they are proactive about issues that arise. Not so. This lack of follow through seems to be just another symptom of a poorly run practice.

Note: The owner doesn't reply to everyone, only (mostly) the positive and it seems the bad reviews are true and the positives are plants. Arrived on time, after waiting 35 minutes someone came and generally announced that the doctor was running 1 hour behind schedule. Why this couldn't be told when we arrived is beyond me. And with multiple physicians you're telling me that someone couldn't help out. I understand circumstances beyond an individuals control but being this unprofessional is something else. To top it off it was not 1 hour behind but even longer and that was just getting in the room! If you do read this, know that something is broken in the management of this place.

I like Dr. Marcus very much. BUT waiting for over an hour and a half tells me they are overbooking appointments. As a elderly person, I was almost sick by the time I drove home. I was told to come 20 minutes early and then I sat and waited forever in uncomfortable chairs. I NEVER have to wait for more than 5 minutes to see my primary doctor and I'm so grateful their office seems to book patients in a timely manner.

I had the please of seeing Dr.McClanahan today to check a few moles I was concerned about. She was very pleasant and very thorough as to what they were and what options I had. We had them removed and she was very gentle and it did not hurt a bit. I also had concerns with dark spots on my face and she was happy to get me a prescription that will help this. She was very concerned and asked me over and over if I had any questions or covers for her. I wld recommend her to anyone that wld want a kind and caring dermatologist .

Dr. Trookman is amazing. He truly cares about his patients. He was the first Dr to diagnose my skin condition correctly and has gone above and beyond to try to help me with treating it. He doesn't push prescriptions on you, if there's a natural way to treat something he does not hesitate to recommend it.

I have been going to this dermatologist for quite sometime and frankly this is the last time I will ever come here. Having set up an appointment a month in advance was annoying. The day of my appointment was terrible, the wait was unnecessarily long after checking in and waiting for the doctor. My experiences with Dr.Trookman has ALWAYS been uncomfortable and overbearing to the point that I felt he had belittled me. He did not seem to care about me or my situation and was frankly insulting as if my check-up was an inconvenience and a waste of time. After the visit I felt horrible and used like he didn't see me as a person. This is the last time I will ever come to this clinic.

Check-in was quick and the staff friendly. As usual, Dr. Turner listened intently to our concerns and we received a thorough scan for obvious problem spots/areas. I had a negative experience with Dr. Trookman. When I was brought into the room, the nurse or assistant asked why I was there. She must have told Dr. Trookman my concerns outside of the room because he never asked me any questions. He walked in the room, talked at me, and walked out of the room while he was still talking. This took less than one minute. He did not give me a chance to talk or ask questions. I took time out of my day to visit a doctor and my time was not valued. He was dismissive and rude and acted annoyed that I was there.

Even though appointment dates can be far out, the staff is very nice and will do whatever they can do to help with your needs. Because of constant changes in health insurance I continue to have issues with a medication I use being covered and not covered, and prices being outrageous. I was having issues with my pharmacy and Elizabeth was able to work with the issue and find me the best possible solution.

My experience with this place was terrible. They are unresponsive and hard to get ahold of. The normal scheduling people will not schedule your appointments (???) so you are forced to contact the doctor's MA. Well, they are in appointments all day so they can never ever be reached! Not only that, but they legitimately called me TEN MINUTES BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT to tell me there was some sort of issue with my insurance and that we would need to reschedule. I had to rearrange my entire day for that appointment only for them to cancel it at the last possible second (while I was sitting outside already!) After that, I decided that almost any dermatology clinic would be better than this one. This is a terrible, terrible doctor's office and I would caution anyone and everyone to just find a different dermatologist!!

She’s there for you if you “just need to talk.” She listened to what I had to say. I’ve already recommended her to my friends. A great experience! Kudos also to her assistant.

The front desk and back office staff are laughably rude. At my sons appointment this morning, if they were indignant. The women taking my sons history kept sighing and rolling their eyes anytime my answer was more than one word, I was cut off so many times I gave up trying to provide them a true history for him. We left with multiple unanswered questions.

I had struggled with a wart on my foot for several years. I got a referral to see Vanguard Skin Care and nothing was happening. They tried freezing it off. They tried "bug juice". Nothing was working, but they were taking my co-pay and soaking my insurance. I asked for another provider in my plan. I saw Dr. Turner. After the first treatment, I noticed some improvement. After the second treatment, it was no longer a problem. The skin was soft like the rest of the skin on my foot. Which was essential, since we left on vacation about a week later and clocked 10k to 20k steps a day. Thank you.

I first went in to see the dermatologist for cystic acne. I saw Dr Trookman he was amazing. He explained everything to me and made feel less worried about my acne. He said first we will treat it and then make you flawless. I was very skeptical since I’m darker skin toned and my acne scars were almost black. Well needless to say my face looks amazing. The entire staff there at CSDerm are so welcoming and nice. They take the time to listen to you. Krista in the Shoppe is so wonderful and very knowledgeable about all the products they carry and know how to help you find the best fit for you. The staff at Rocky Mountain Laser side are equally as amazing. They always greet you like they have been looking forward to your arrival all day. I love the events that the they put on for the patients and also all the free goodies. They not only make sure that your dermatology issues are taken care of they also educate you on procedures and products that you have elect to use to stay skin healthy, look good and be the best you. I am blessed and very lucky to be a patient and customer.

I came In for a routine exam. Dr Marcus and DeeDee, as always, were cordial and smiling to me and my wife, Eileen (also a patient of Dr. Marcus). After the exam, I mentioned a spot on my lower back. Dr Marcus termed it basal cell and, after deadening the tissue, excised it for biopsy. These doctors are the best in town. The office is beautiful and state-of-the art. They offer dermatology appointments, MOHS surgery, cosmetic treatments, just to name a few of the services. Two parts to this review: Liz the coordinator (5 stars) and the actual dermatology visit (2-3 stars) 1. After visiting with Dr. Mentz, she prescribed me an acne topical gel and a benzoyl peroxide face wash. I have insurance, but since it's a high deductible, it cost $478 and $400, respectively. Ridiculous. I was upset that she would prescribe something so absurdly expensive. When I called the office to inquire about this , they asked me to call the Walgreens Pharmacy and have them fax certain documents. I had to call the dermatology office three times and Walgreens Pharmacy two times to make sure the two were talking. It was so frustrating... That's when Liz called me and said she'd take care of it. She called Walgreens and made sure they knew exactly what they needed. She also did research on how I could get one of the two prescriptions for $75 instead of $478. Liz called me back a few times to give me updates and that meant a lot, as a patient. In the beginning, it seemed like the office just wanted to pass it off on me and it was really discouraging. Liz showed amazing customer support. Thank you!!! 2. The actual dermatology visit was a skin cancer screen and some acne concerns. I'd give it 2-3 stars. The doctor seemed super rushed and barely took time to look me over and talk to me about my history, etc. She just seemed like she wanted to give me a quick glance, prescribe me a gel, and get out of there. Definitely not the most personable...

I saw the bad reviews and so I had to add mine. We have had nothing but good experiences here. We have only seen Dr. Babcock, and have loved his attention and care. Three of my children have gone to him. My oldest daughter had a mole that she needed removed. He worked with us to get it all taken care of before she left for college. I would highly recommend them.

He answers all of my questions completely and offers much wanted advice on what is best for my skin type. Julie and Mary are extremely helpful. They listen to my needs and are absolutely excellent at showing me what is new and would work for my age and skin type. I love the shoppe and the help that Krista offers as well.
